» She didn't know why she decided to go here. Lynx had just gathered up her family and told them they were going to meet someone. Masquerade probably knew by now where exactly they were going, but Chrissy was quite curious. "Where we goin', mum? " asked the filly, trotting up closer to the chestnut mare and fixing her mother with a green-and-purple gaze. Lynx swiveled her ears, glancing down at her. My, how her foals have grown! She couldn't help but smile, but Chrissy's inquiring look made her snap out of it. " Well, we are going to see an old friend of mine. He is very nice, so you don't need to worry, " she replied. Chrissy nodded, a little bit relieved. " Oh, okay. I wasn't worried though mum. Will there be any other horses there?" Lynx smiled and shook her head, giving a soft laugh. " Of course. He has one of the biggest herds on the island, darling. Now straighten up, we're just about there," Lynx told her, and she looked ahead again, ears pricked as the familiar scent of Liberta filled her nostrils. It had been almost a year or so since she had visited this place last. She was also hoping to see her other colt, Taren. No doubt he would be grown up, and be a beautiful stallion. She was already anxious to see him again. But what really gave the small arab nervous butterflies was Lassan. What if he didn't approve of her with Masquerade? She glanced at her mate briefly. Lassan would have to deal with it, Massy was a changed horse. » Chrissy walked alongside her mother quietly, taking in the sights and smells of this new area. She hadn't really left Scure before, because her parents had told her it was unsafe until she was a little bit older. Her mother also warned her to stay away from any stallions she didn't recognize, because she was "a beautiful thing that someone might take advantage of". Hmmph, they wouldn't be able to take advantage of her with Erik around. She adored Erik, and just thinking about her brother made her girn slightly. She slowed so that she dropped back to him, and gave him a playful nudge with her muzzle. " Helloooo," she greeted, giving his ears a little playful nip. Lynx glanced back at her twins and smiled, before raising her head to look at a large raven that circled ahead. He swooped down and landed on her back with a rustle of feathers. " Could you be a dear and find Lassan now for me?" she asked the black bird, and he nodded and took off again. Lynx slowed to a stop, watching the raven go, then turned to look at her twins. " I want you two to stay out of sight in the trees, just until I call you, alright? " she told them. Chrissy gave her an odd look, but shrugged and turned to move a bit deeper into the forest, nudging her brother to come with her and brushing pelts with her father as she passed. Lynx nodded and went to the edge of the trees, head turning as she waited for Masquerade to join her. [/blockquote]

Vodka's Venom { There's a train leaving town. If you hurry, you just might make it. Dammit I hope you make it! } | The brindled mare grazed quietly in a small meadow, surrounded by multi leaf colored trees. A cool breeze came and chilled her black and white coat. She shivered slightly as she rose up her delicate head. It wasn't that cold, but just the cool breeze reminding her of winter was enough to make her shiver.
Venom's attention was brought to a raven who landed a few feet in front of her. "Where are you headed?" She asked softly, a smile on her lips as she bent down to look at the ebony bird. The petite mare heard him say something about going to fetch Lassan for Lynx. "Lynx? One of his former mares?" Venom eyed the bird curiously. It nodded and motioned behind her. "She's here?" The raven nodded. Venom nodded. "Tell him to meet me here, Leair. Please?" She smiled at him. The bird nodded. "Of course, missus." The mare nodded him a thanks and watched the bird go before running to find her second son, Zeake.
| The young stallion walked quietly through the forest, watching as multi-colored leaves fell. He silently wondered what his family was doing now. It'd been a day or two since he'd seen them last . He'd been exploring Liberta for a while to get out of baby-sitting his younger sister and his niece. Cosette and Fantasma. But then his older sister, Kibitala waltzed her way into his mind. He hadn't seen her in a couple weeks. He frowned. The colt missed her. He thought about Fantasma's father and an even darker frown made its way onto his lips.
Zeake snarled, wondering how Kibitala could actually have a foal with such a stallion. The bastard hadn't even cared enough to be there when his daughter was born. Hell. The colt bet that Jigsaw didn't even know how many foals he had. Since he went around and knocked up random innocent mares.
His light pink eyes darkened and the young stallion shook his head to clear his thoughts of the other stallion. But then he heard his mother's voice calling his name. "Mom?" Zeake's striped ears flicked forward as she came towards him. "What the hell?" He glanced at her. "One of your father's old friends is here. Leair said she wanted Lassan to come meet her. I want to see her too. The bird said there were more with her, but he didn't know who they were," Venom looked to her son. A grim line formed across Zeake's lips. "What. Are you worried he's gonna leave our family for one old fling?" Zeake stared firmly at his mother, but his gaze softened as he saw his mother flinch. "Of course Dad would never do that! He loves us too much" A small smile tugged at his lips. Venom smiled and licked her son's cheek.
"Now c'mon. I told Leair to tell Lassan to meet us in Cosette's meadow." Zeake nodded and took off at a trot with his mother. He knew which meadow she was talking about. That was the one where his sister was born. So they had just formed a habit of calling it Cosette's meadow due to the fact it was easier to know what meadow they were talking about.[/blockquote] Zeake Muse` [: MUSE ic` My epic playlist! Masquerade stayed far behind his family as they began their excursion to Terra delle Liberta, Lynx's former home. The stag had been very reluctant about journeying to his former enemy's territory. Things like that just did not work out well. These days Masquerade was as harmless to Liberta as a butterfly. He did not care for them, think about them, or wish them any harm. He was just merely a passerby.
Lynx's constant begging had finally made Masquerade comply to go with her and the twins to Liberta. He knew that his mate and the stallion who ruled Liberta were friends, and they were something more in the past. But that was the past, it was done, over with now. He also knew that she had a son with the ebony stallion who still resided in Terra delle Liberta.
The masked stag continued to stay far behind until he heard Lynx call for him. A grim expression came across he face as he reluctantly jogged up to join her. "Well?" he said impatiently, looking around for any sign of the ebony Arabian who owned the land. Masquerade was going to stay far behind Lynx the whole time and keep his mouth shut. It was better to remain silent than to let a fued start.
______
Erik, like his father, had been reluctant to go to Liberta as well. He could not fathom why his mother wanted to go see this stallion, who in his mind, had used her, again. He just didn't get it. That, and the fact that he didn't like to get out much.
He walked slowly, most of the time watching his sister and mother walk out in front of him and have idle conversations. The few hours it took them to get to Liberta, Erik had been alert for danger every step of the way. He knew what was out here and what could happen. Epecially to pretty mares like his mother and Chrissy.
The masked colt finally had something else to do than worry when his sister came over to him and playfully nipped him. He put his auds back and nipped back at her in the same manner. "I don't get why mum wants to come here." he told his sister. "That bastard practically used her and then left her for someone else." he seethed.
The colt was interupted when Lynx told the twins to stay out of sight and go in the trees. Erik scowled and rolled his eyes. Why would it matter if he was in the trees or not? Whatever. It was better for him seeing as he wouldn't have to socialise with other horses for long. "C'mon Chrissy." he said as he turned to go find somewhere to waste time.
______
Lassan was standing by the waterfall, gazing into the water at his reflection. He didn't look much different that he had twelve years ago. Had he really been around for that long already? His life was probably half over now that he thought about it. Life was a funny thing, as was time. It just by so fast. Lassan could remmber running around these lands as a small colt with his mother. It just seemed like it was yesterday.
The Arab let out a sigh as he heard the call of a raven. What is it this time? he thought. The stallion tunred his crown as the ebony bird landed on his rump. "Yes Leair?" he asked, hoping it wasn't some news of an attack coming his way. It had been quiet around the island for several months. Lassan intended to keep it just so.
Leair fidgeted for a moment before saying "Well m'lord I 'ave two tings to tell ye. Firs' o' all Lady Venom wants ye t'meet 'er in da meadow where Miss Cosette was born." Lassan nodded as he spoke. "Alright. Well then what is the second thing?" he inquired. Leair looked around for a moment before saying, in a quieter voice, "Miss Lynx is back in Liberta m'lord." With that said the raven flew off to join the rest of his flock.
Lynx was back. The two Arabs had shared quite a history. Now, they were just friends and Lassan wanted to keep it that way. Lynx was a good friend. He hadn't spoken to her in so long, it would be nice to see her again. He figured that Leair had told Venom and that was why Venom wanted to meet with him.
Lassan broke into a swift canter, eager to reach the meadow. The quicker he got there to meet Venom, the sooner he could see Lynx. It then dawned on him that he hsould call Taren as well. The stag let out a call, and within a few minutes his good friend Giltrent was flying alongside him. "Giltrent." he said with a curt nod as he ran. "Could you please get Taren and tell him to meet me in Cosette's meadow?" The ebony bird nodded and flew off to give the cold Lassan's message.
______
The black and white brindled colt was grazing on the surprisingly lush grass as he watched his younger sister, Cosette, play with their niece Fantasma. Polaris had agreed to watch the fillies for the next few days, letting his younger brother Zeake have a break for once in his life. The only thing Polaris didn't like was that he hadn't seen his half sister, Fantasma's mother, Kibitala in a few days. He was worried about her and hoped she would show up soon.
Polaris looked up as he saw a raven coming to land on him. He turned his head around as it spoke. He nodded and looked back to the fillies as it flew off. "Cosette! Fantasma! Come here please!" he called out to them.
Cosette groaned and rolled her eyes as her brother called for them. "C'mon Fantasma." she said sullenly. "We probably have to go do something." She trotted up to her brother and looked at him, waiting for an answer as to what was going on. "Just stay here with me. Mother and father are going to be here in a few minutes." he told the girls. Cosette sighed and plopped down in the grass by his hind legs, lazily watching the path into the meadow.

ooc; open for vel and tox, but anyone else can jump in if they like characters; Lynx & Chrissy & Taren muse; good. :3 song; here we are - breaking benjamin " Lynx speech" " Chrissy speech" " Taren speech"
» Lynx turned her head as Masquerade joined her, ears flicking at his sour mood. She rolled her green orbs at him. If she didn't make them come visit Lassan, her family would have been sitting in Scure doing nothing like they always did. Well, it was time for Lynx to make up with Lassan for their arguement, because it looked like if she didn't, no one would. But no matter what, she was glad she walked out on Lassan for Masquearde. Things had turned out a lot better for her. She had horses that actually cared for her, and no one bothered them with Sweeney looming nearby.
Lynx looked up to the afternoon sky, letting the chilly autumn breeze whip through her long chestnut mane. She watched as a black shape flew about and disapeared several times, no doubt being Leair. How many horses was he fetching? Lynx thought, annoyed. "Since when is saying hello to someone such a big deal? " Lynx growled, watching the black raven soar through the sky again. Chrissy looked at Erik, frowning and giving a her shoulders a shrug. " Stallions will be stallions," Chrissy said, following after her brother to hide deeper in the brush. She didn't get why they had to, though. Her father and her brother were there to protect her. What could go wrong? She just concluded her mother was just a strange, over-protective mare, but she supossed she had reasons. Chrissy just shook her mane and started grooming her pelt where a smudge of dirt clung, scowling. She always had her fur perfect, and if it wasn't, she'd be at it until it was. Self-image was a big thing for her, since her mother pulled it off so well. Taren was grazing along the edge of a meadow when he heard a flapping of wings. He raised his dished head curiously, and spotted his father's favorite raven, Giltrent. He smiled at the bird as he landed on his back. " Hello, Giltrent. Anything the matter?" he asked, pricking his ears. A look of surprise and joy crossed his face when the bird told him that his mother was here. He hadn't seen his mother in a long time, and frankly he missed her a ton. He nodded to the bird, grinning broadly. " Thanks!" The raven took off again to wherever he was going, and Taren watched him go, nostrils flaring. He then half-reared and jumped into a fast gallop, heading towards the meadow where Giltrent told him his father and Venom were meeting. Taren kicked up a couple of bucks as he raced towards the meadow, suddenly wired with tons of energy. In no time at all, he reached the meadow and began to slow as he spotted his step-family almost all gathered there. He skidded to a hault near them, still grinning like there were no troubles in the world, huffing. " H-hi," he panted, ears flicking back and forth as he looked at everyone briefly in turn. Vodka's Venom { There's a train leaving town. If you hurry, you just might make it. Dammit I hope you make it! } | "Taren!" The mare nuzzled him softly before turning to look at Zeake. "Keep your mouth shut, kay? Don't bother her." Venom told her colt firmly, but then relaxed, waiting for the rest of her family to get here.
She hoped Lassan got here fast, for the sake of her sanity. But she kept on telling herself to get over it, because she knew it was in the past and Lassan had a true family now. But that didn't stop the worry from coming up from inside her. It was like vomit. You didn't want it to come, but it came anyway. She just couldn't shake the fear that'd he leave for an old fling. No. He never would. Venom could've kicked herself for being so pathetic!

Masquerade glared at the mare with his mismatched optics. "Oh, only since I have t'say it to a former enemy." he spat back. he really was not liking this. Lynx was lucky that he loved her. He would not have come if he didn't.
The large stallion put his head down to graze before lifting it a few minutes later as a raven flew over head. Masquerade never cared much for those birds. "What's takin' 'em so long?" he complained. "S'not like 'e won't notice we came." The masked stag shook off his coat and paced around before lowering his crown once again to graze on what would probalby be the best grass of the season.
______
"I guess." Erik grumbled. In all of his two years, the colt had observed other horses, and he came to the conclusion that he was never going to be like the other stallions. They were all bastards in one way or another. This Lassan they were seeing for using Lynx, and even Erik's own father. They always used mares and broke their hearts. Erik was convinced that they did not even know what true love was, maybe true lust, but not love.
Erik scowled and turned his head to look at his sister, who was busy grooming her pelt. "This is stupid, waiting here." he commented. "And you look fine, don't worry about it. There isn't even a speck of dirt on you." he said with a small nod. He then let out a heavy sigh and watched his mother and father through the trees.
______
When the ebony stallion arrived in the meadow, most of his large family was there to greet him. He let out a whicker to say hello to them all. "Yes, what is it Venom?" he asked her. He knew that she probably knew about Lynx coming back to Liberta, and that was what this meeting was bound to be about. Either way, he wanted it to go quickly so he could go see the chestnut mare.
______
Polaris grinned when he saw his two brothers show up. He was rather fond of Zeake and Taren. He jogged over to the two, greeting them both with a whinny. "Do you all know what this meeting is about?" he asked his brothers, curiously looking between the two. He had just been told that Lynx had come back. It did not make any sense to him why they should have a meeting right now, especially since that Masquerade character was with Lynx.
______
Cosette let out a squeal of delight as she saw her father. She loped a few circles around him before nuzzling him. She really loved her father. She smiled at him once more before cantering over to her brothers. "Hiiii Zeakey!" she exclaimed. "I missed you." She then looked over to Taren and said "You need to come and play with me more." She then went to go stand back by Zeake as she waited for her mother and father to speak.

» Lynx pinned her ears back, turning her head to give Masquerade a quick but gentle nip on the shoulder. "Don't go getting your tail in a knot, and lighten up. We won't be here for long," she said, giving him a final look before turning to gaze out back into the open meadow. The sunshine was faintly warm on her face and back, but the cool autumn breeze made her supress a shiver. Her pelt hadn't quite begin to grow yet for the upcoming winter, and she wasn't amuesed by how cold it was getting so fast. The arab huffed and leaned lightly on Massy, resting her head on his back. "I love you, just in case you forgot," she told him, then smirked.
---
» Chrissy looked up and nodded at Erik in agreement, frowning as she glanced up over the brush towards her parents and the empty meadow infront of them. She lashed her tail impaitently, ears pinning. But she smiled at Erik when he said her pelt was fine. "Why thank you, and you look quite ravishing yourself, brother," she replied, snickering and giving him a bump with her hip.
---
» Taren smiled at his step-mother Venom and returned her nuzzle affectionately. He then turned to his younger brother Zeake with a grin. "Zeeeaakee." Taren shook his black mane and give his brother a playful nip on his neck. His ears swiveled as he heard a whinny, and spotted Polaris trotting towards them with Cosette and Fantasma. He nodded at him, suddenly wired again. "My mother is here, with her new, erm, mate, I suppose," he replied, giving his shoulders a shrug. He regretted that his mother and father weren't together, but some things couldn't be helped. Besides, they weren't meant to be anyway. The bay stallion blinked green eyes and looked down at Cosette as she walked up to them. He shook his head at her. "I'm sorry Cosette dear, I promise I will try," he told her, then looked up and pricked his ears, looking at Lassan and Venom to see what they had to say.

Masquerade flattened his ears as Lynx nipped at him. "Good." he replied sourly when she said they wouldn't be in Liberta for long. The masked stag had to keep from rolling his orbs when Lynx leaned on him and told him that she loved him. It wasn't that he didn't love her, it was just the way she acted. It was like she was bipolar. Which she probably was. Masquerade wouldn't doubt that for a minute. It was either that, or she had been spending way too much time around Lovett, who acted almost the same way. The more the stallion thought about it, he came to the conclusion that it was most likely a bit of both.
______
Erik playfully pinned his ears back and nipped at Chrissy when she ubmped into him. He then began to wonder about their future. The twins were almost two and should be on there own soon. Where would they go? Erik really had no reason to go anywhere unless Chrissy went there too. But then again she had her own life to live and would not want him hanging around her all the time. The colt sighed and asked her "Have you ever thought about what will happen to us as we get older?" Even though the colt would not admit it, he was afraid of loosing his only friend and the only horse he really loved, his sister.
______
Polaris laughed a bit at his younger sister. She certainly was a loud, bold little thing. "Now Cosette, remember your manners." he scolded. "Maybe you should ask him with a please at the end." he hinted toward the filly.
______
Cosette glared at Polaris for a moment before saying "Well he doesn't seem to care, do you Taren?" she asked, looking back at the Arab. "This is booooring." she then whined as she began to trot in circles around the colts. "Why do we have to be here anyway? I wanna go back and play."
______
Fantasma, who had fallen asleep, woke up when she heard Cosette's voice. The filly looked up to Cosette who was only a few months older than herself. They were best friends, and Fantasma would have it no other way. She liked playing with Cosette and it made her forget about how much she missed her mother when she would randomly disappear for a few days.
The filly jumped up and ran over to tag Cosette on the flank. "Tag!" she called out as she cantered toward her grandparents, looking back to see if Cosette was coming or not.

Lassan gave the mare a very puzzled look as she stepped forward, ready to say somehting, but changed her mind and told him to go and see Lynx. Lassan was tempted to ask what that was about and what she had initially intended to say, but he would just ask her about it later. Right now he was much too excited about Lynx coming to see him. He had missed her.
"Alright." Lassan said, looking wearily at Venom still. "I guess I'll b back whenev'r then." He then looked to his children and grandchild. They had all grown so much. They were hardly children anymore. "Polaris, Zeake," he started, "stay here and entertain Cosette and Fantasma. I'm sure they'd like to have more horses to add to their game o' tag."
The ebony stallion then turned to Taren. The colt had grown so much. He was probably near his adult height, which wasn't too tall at all. Nor should it be, seeing that he was a full blooded Arabian. "Taren, I want you to come with me." he told him with a small smile. "Ready?" he asked as he looked back over his shoulder to the bay colt. With that he set off at a canter.
______
As much as Polaris wanted to go with his father to greet the new horses, he knew that it was not his place. The only connection he had to these horses were his brother Taren and his niece Cosette.
"Alright Cosette, Fantasma, want to play hide and seek?" he asked the fillies, knowing that it would a be a good game for them, especially in the taller grass in the meadow.
______
The filly finally caught up with Fantasma and tapped her on the rump. Cosette ran back toward her brothers with Fantasma hot on her heels. "Can't catch me Fanta!" she called out. The fillly made the mistake of turning her head to talk, whic caused her to trip over her own legs and crash to the ground.
She got up, shaking her coat off as if nothing had happened and trotted over to Polaris who asked her if she wanted to play hide and seek. "Yes!" she exclaimed, bouncing a bit in her place. "Not it!" she called as she began to trot circles around Polaris and Zeake.
______
Fantasma let out a squeal as Cosette tapped her hindquarters. She pinned her small ears back and wheeled around, determined to catch her friend. "You better run Cosette!" she said as she pushed her long legs to go faster.
The filly slowed her pace as she saw Cosette tumble to the ground. She couldn't help but laughing at her friend. She was quite the klutz.
Fantasma perked her ears when she heard Polaris ask if they wanted to play hide and seek. "I do! And not it either!" she squealed as she went to Cosette's side.
______
Erik, who had been scraping his front hoof back and forth lazily in the sand, suddenly stopped and turned to face Chrissy. "Someone is coming." he informed her. Erik was exceptional at sensing other animals before most of the others even knew they were around. "I can't wait to see how Masquerade reacts to this." he said to himself. Erik had taken to calling his father by his first name since he was not very fond of the larger stallion.
______
A few minutes later, the masked stallion lifted his head up from the grass. He heard the sound of hoofbeats and quickly detected the ebony leader of the land coming toward them, with another colt by his side. Masquerade rolled his eyes a bit and dropped his head, going back to his grazing. "Oh Lynx, I think you have some company!" he called out before turning his back on them and wandering a few strides away.

» Lynx eventually walked away from Masquerade a few paces and began to graze on the sweet grass hungrily, flicking her ginger tail back and forth lazily. This grass tasted delicious compared to the grass that grew in Scure. And she hadn't eaten all day, so she particularly enjoyed it.
After a while Masquerade gave her a heads up that someone was coming, Lynx raised her head and pricked her ears and spotted a black and bay form bobbing towards them. Her jaw dropped slightly in surprise, then she whinnied happily, cantering gracefully over to them, eyes glittering. "Taren! Lassan!" Lynx skidded to a hault, a broad grin on her maw. She first looked at her son. He was tall, lean, and hansome, not to mention all grown up. Her eyes softened, and she gave him a loving nuzzle. "Oh, my baby boy...I missed you so," she murmured, looking up into his eyes, whose color matched hers. She smiled at him finally, then turned to Lassan, one ear going back sheepishly. "Lassan.. Its good to see you, friend. " The arab mare gave him a friendly nudge. She looked over to Masquerade, who was eating, and shook her head, giving a sigh, but turned to look back at Lassan with a smile. "Its wonderful to see you two. And Lassan, I'm sorry for my behavior last time. But, I can't honestly say I regret it. Life has been good," she said, shaking her ginger mane.
---
Chrissy was caught off guard by Erik's question. When they were older? The filly's grin faded from her maw. She truly had never thought about that, but maybe she just didn't find the reason to. Or just the possibilities might be enough to scare her. She swallowed and shrugged. "No, I haven't..." she said, looking over at her brother. She couldn't really picture herself without her brother by her side, or another mare at his. Jealousy began to boil at that image. Erik was hers. Her twin, her brother, her best friend. She couldn't stand the idea of someone else getting his attention. She began to get angry. "Nothing will happen, Erik. We'll stay together," she said simply, pinning her ears back. "And I'll hurt anyone that stands in our way," she growled, dealthly serious. She glowered for a couple minutes in silence, fuming, until her brother pricked his ears and told her someone was coming. She looked up, and squinted her eyes, and soon spotted black and brown forms heading towards them. She watched as they grew closer, and realized it was Lassan and her half-brother, Taren. She eyed them curiously.
---
Taren blinked at the small filly at what she said. He threw his head back indignantly. "Thats a lie! " he said, stamping his hoof. He was about to argue further with Cosette, but his father called for his attention. He pricked his ears and looked up. He smiled as his father said they were going to be going, and his heart gave a little leap. He was going to see his mother, after how long? He completely forgot about Cosette, and turned and went after his father with a spring in his gallop. He ran tirelessly next to his father. He was nearly as tall as him now, he noticed, but didn't linger on that fact. He soon spotted a large black stallion, and his mom. He grinned and nuzzled his mother back as she ran up to them. "I missed you too, mum.." he replied, giving her a lick on the cheek, then turning his head to listen to his parents talk.

Vodka's Venom { Conscience is a faint, unpleasant sound You've worried enough, but here's your chance So take it ! } | The brindled mare flicked her ivory tail anxiously, flicking an ear back to her children. She turned to look at them. "Stay close!" But then she turned her attention to her colts. "Go play with the girls." The mare motioned for them to leave as she flicked her white tail nervously.
As she watched them go, her mind wandered to Lassan. She frowned slightly, thinking of him "falling back in love" with Lynx. But that would never happen. Never in a million years, she reminded herself cautiously.
| Zeake took in a deep breath and watched his father and half brother gallop off to meet the mare. He frowned, but turned to watch his sisters. He could get why this was such a big deal for his mother, but he wished he could comfort her. But instead, he obeyed and went to play with the two small fillies. "I'm coming you two!" A grin spread across the stallion's face as Lynx came forward to meet them. Lassan halted and stood back a bit as Lynx was reunited with her son Taren. Lassan couldn't help but notice the delight in Taren's eyes. Even though he looked grown up, at time, Taren could be a child again. This was one of those times. As it should be. He never really got to see his mother.
Lassan looked to the chestnut mare once she addressed him. He bowed his head a bit and said "Lynx." in greeting. "It's been a long time." The Arab mare then apologised for her behaviour last time. "No need to dwell on the past. That is why it is called the past. It's put behind us." he told her. Lassan was always one to forgive, it was just his nature.
The stallion lifted his head a bit, only to catch sight of a large black stag several strides away. Masquerade. Lassan thought for a moment about the masked. It was true that the Friesian cross had wronged Lassan and his friends and family in the past, but as he told Lynx, it was the past. Plus, if Lynx thought that this guy was okay, Lassan didn't see a reason why he shouldn't either. "Hello Masquerade!" he called out. If the stallion wanted to join in the conversation he would. If he didn't, then so be it.
"So Lynx, how have you been? It really has been a long time." he asked her. He then remembered that he wanted to introduce the newest members to his family, Cosette and Fantasma, to her and her new mate. "Oh! You mus' meet my new family!" he exclaimed before he whinnied to a raven. He told the bird to go and fetch Venom and the children to meet Lynx and her family.
______
Masquerade continued to keep to himself and try not to listen to Lynx's conversation. He just hoped she would be quick and they could get back home soon. Just then, he heard Lassan call out to him. He half expected it to be some kind of taunting accusation. But no. It was actually a greeting.
Masquerade lifted his head up and turned around. His mismatched eyes darted around for a minute before he called back "Uh, hello." the stallion continued to stand there staring at Lassan for a moment, a bit confused by his eager friendliness.
It took him a minute of thinking, but he decided to move up a bit and graze closer to the group of horses. He would talk if spoken to, but in this particular group, he felt out of place and just wanted to go back and be with horses more like him. Although with his changed self, he acted more like Lassan's kind now than the dark demon he once was. He just didn't fancy a conversation with a group of lights at the moment.
______
Erik's ears went back against his skull as he saw Lassan and Taren come closer to where he and Chrissy were waiting. He let out a snort and looked at his sister as she bgean to respond to his question. He wasn't surprised that she hadn't thought about her, or their, future. Erik generally thought on topics like that. He liked to brood. If it were an olympic sport, he probably would have won the gold for it.
A small smile graced his features when he heard her say that nothing would happen and that she would stand up to anyone who got in their way. Erik gave a small chickle. He really couldn't imagine his sister fighting off anyone, but with the passion with which she spoke, it was pretty hard not to believe.
"Good." he said. "And if anyone, or anyhting, ever lays hands on you, they will wish they never met Erik." he said with a defiant snort. The colt then looked back to Lassan and the other horses. He realised that Masquerade had moved closer. Interesting. "You think Masquerade will actually talk to the black?" he asked Chrissy.
______
Polaris sensed his mother's anxiety, but he figured that she would just wory by herself. His attention was diverted anyway when Zeake ran after the fillies. That left him to do the counting. He sighed and shook his head with a smile. Being the eldest, he always got stuck with the seeking. Not that it bothered him.
"You better find good spots!" he yelled. "Cause I will find you!"
______
Cosette let out an excited whinny as she broke away from Fantasma and Zeake, wanting to find her own, good hiding place. She always came up with pretty good ones. This time, she wanted to find one where no one could ever find her.
The filly was about to go into the woods, but remembered her mother telling her that she had to stay closed. Cosette groaned and finally ducked into a bush by one of the cliff walls. This would be a tough spot, right?
______
Fantasma watched as Cosette went off to find some good hiding place. How come she always had the good ones? The filly was thinking about following Cosette, but she knew Cosette would get mad at her for taking her hiding spot. The filly knew that her uncle was going to stop counting soon, so she had better have a place to hide.
Her optics darted all around the medium sized meadow until she spied a patch of tall reed-like grass that would hide her. She smiled to herself and pranced over to it, lowering herself so she was laying down out of sight.

ooc; Carrrrrlll, that killllss people! characters; Lynx & Chrissy & Taren muse; good. :3 song; here we are - breaking benjamin " Lynx speech" " Chrissy speech" " Taren speech"
» Lynx smiled and nodded at Lassan as he said they should put the past behind them. Thats one of the reason she really liked Lassan, he was always very forgiving. Her green eyes followed Lassan's over to her mate, and pricked her ears as he said hello to him, and Masquerade actually replied, and inched closer to them. Huh. And what happened to not wanting to be here? she thought, then smirked to herself, and looked back at Lassan and Taren. "Yes, it has been awhile. I've been fine, actually. How about you?" she asked in reply, tilting her head to the side a little bit. She blinked as he mentioned seeing his new family. So he and Venom did end up being together. She watched as he called for a raven to fetch them. The arab smiled at him. "Oooh, yes. And, while we wait, I should show you mine," she said, turning her head to the trees. "Erik? Chrissy? Could you come here, please?"
----
» Chrissy snorted and smirked at her brother, nodding her head. "And god help them," she said, then laughed. The one thing she always felt with her brother was safety. He was always there to come to her rescue. Who needed a knight in shining armor when she had her faithful Erik? She blinked when he asked if their father was actually going to talk to...Lassan, was it? Anyway, she shrugged. "Who knows?" she replied, shaking her mane. Her interest turned to her mother as she called their names. She gave Erik a look, shrugged again, then walked forward out of the forest to go join them, ears flicking nervously. "Hello."
----
» Taren listened idly to his parents chat, looking around him, but mostly at the large black stallion. This was who his mother chose? Even him being as young as he was, Taren knew exactly who this horse was. Masquerade. But obviously if his mother was with him, then something about him must have changed. His interest was drawn back when his mother called for two other horses, and a filly and a colt came out from the trees. He tilted his head. They must be his half-brother-and-sister. He glanced at his father to see what he thought.

Vodka's Venom { Conscience is a faint, unpleasant sound You've worried enough, but here's your chance So take it ! } | Venom rose her head curiously to see a raven coming and landing in front of her. The bird told her to gather up the younger horses and go and meet Lynx. The mare slapped her ivory tail nervously, but nodded to the bird. "We'll be there in a few minutes." She turned away to go find her family.
She frowned, standing by Polaris. "Come on! We need to go meet your father's friend, Lynx!" She called firmly, watching as the two fillies and Zeake walked out from the edge of the forest. The mare turned to Polaris. She looked over her first son and smiled faintly. "You've grown so much, Polaris." She nuzzled him but turned away, her ears flicking anxiously.
| The brindled colt had taken a liking to his large bush, but came out as soon as he was called. "Fantasma! Cosette! Last one of you to come out will get it!" He smirked, waiting to see the fillies come barreling out of their hiding places. "We'll play later. We have to go meet Dad's old friend," He turned to Cosette. "and Taren will be there." Zeake smirked, knowing that his little sister loved their half brother dearly. [/blockquote] Zeake Muse` UGH.
