Erik _________________ The young stallion finally trusted his sister enough that he could leave her for several hours a day. She seemed to have much more common sense now that she had matured a bit. Although she was still very naive and Erik had the smallest of fears that she would do something idiotic and would later on regret it. He mentally scolded himself for thinking that. Chrissy was a young mare now, not a childish filly. She knew what was right and what was wrong. Erik also trusted her sense of character. If someone seemed unsavoury, then she would just leave them. At least he only hoped she was as perceptive to others as he was.
One thing that Erik was not perceptive to was the direction in which he was going. He had decided that morning to see more of this side of the island. Back home, he knew everything like the back of his, er, hoof. Here was something different, something new that he did not yet know every nook and cranny of. Surprisinly, that was just fine with him. He wanted to get out and see the world. He couldn't stay in one spot forever, even if the rational half of him wanted to.
The question now was where was he? Everything looked and smelled strange. The sky was overcast witha light drizzle falling between the canopy of the sullen looking trees. There was a study stream of chilly wind with a larger gust that would come along every now and then. Erik hated winter. But then again he hated summer. He was just one of those horses that was never quite satisfied.
What bothered Erik the most was the sulfuric smell and taste to the air. He feared that he may be venturing into Zunden territory. Erik was pretty much a fearless horse, he put the fear into others, but this was one thing that he felt a little uncertain about. He had heard the stories and seen some of the damage. Maybe it was time to trun back.

Firefly walked out in front of his path, blocking it with her small body. "Watcha doing here?" She cocked her crania, and smirked. "Why were you just about to leave?" She snorted smoke, and rested her hind leg.
The three year old gave a dangerous smirk as the flames on her legs came a fire. "Would you care to play with me?" She laughed, her bright red eyes flaming.
"My name's Firefly. Remember that." She slapped her ash grey whipcord. "I guess I should ask your's. I mean, not like it really matters though." She shrugged.

Erik _________________ The young stallion was just about to walk away from this mess forever when a young Zunden mare blocked his path. This was just fantastic. An unamused expression appeared on his face. This was bloody fantastic. Just what he wanted to do today; possibly meat his death. "wrong turn, I was just leaving." he muttered as he went to walk past her, but was hindered by the fire going around the filly.
Erik flattened his ears as she took a step closer to him and began to speak again. "Listen." he said flatly. "if you just move out of my way, I can go home and you'll never have to lay eyes on me again." he told her as he tried to worm his way around her.

No greater fear could match the way she felt right now as she followed her son's trail straight into Zuden territory. She had been simply curious where Erik had been going today, seeing that he never usually left Scure, let alone without his sister, Chrissy. But apparently he just wanted to explore, and he found the wrong place to go. Erik was a grown stallion, but she still couldn't help but feel responsible for him still. Afterall, she still saw him once or twice everyday, even though he was technicly not under her protection any longer.
The small arab flicked her ears and kept her head low and footfalls light as she traveled through the eerily silent forest. Her breath puffed out in vapor in front of her nose in the freezing air, and shivers shook her bodice every other minute or so, the harsh winter taking toll on her. Green eyes flicked nervously at every tiny movement, her ears strained forward to catch any sound. She had hoped Erik would have turned around by now and she would bump into him any minute, but she didn't, and she couldn't help but fear for the worst. And the sound of two voices didn't help her at all.
Lynx listened harder and recognized her son's almost instantly, but the other she didn't, which only made her panic. Her pace picked up to a shaky and jittery trot, mane bouncing about her neck as she made her way through the forest until she spotted a pair of equines far ahead in the trees. At the sight of the Zuden mare, she wanted to turn tail and run, to forget about coming here and save herself. But one look at the black figure of her son set her straight. Lynx quickly grew angry that this filly was messing with her son, like a cat before it killed its mouse. Well, her son wasn't going to become this mare's practice dummy; not if she could help it. Suddenly a whinny screeched from the chestnut's throat as she charged forward through the snow until she came upon the two, skidding to a hault and spraying snow on the filly's fire as she did so. Lynx set herself straight and bared her teeth at the Zuden, her ears pressed against her skull as she growed, "Leave my son alone."

{ Pain, without love. Pain, I can't get enough. Pain, I like it rough Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all. } Firefly | [/blockquote] The mare was about to send a spark on the colt's pelt, but a chestnut mare came and put her flames out.
The mare's ears pinned against her skull as she slowly turned to face the arabian. Firefly gave a feral snarl, her eyes clouding with rage. She set a circle of flames around the colt so he couldn't get away momentarily, and then turned her attention to the mare.
Firefly cocked her head to the side, squinting her blood red eyes. "I'm assuming you don't know what it feels like to loose someone so close to you to a Reaper. If I could rip out your heart and crush it into a million pieces, I would. But, since I'm not as gross as those reapers..." She gave a dark laugh as she aimed to shoot a blade of fire across the mare's shoulder.
Firefly blew a short breath of small flames to the mare, just aiming to burn her muzzle to the point of no skin. She layed back for a couple seconds, blowing smoke out of her nostrils.
The mare turned just as the flames were dying down enough that the colt might could jump out and aimed to send a breath of flame down his neck, hopefully stunning him enough to take care of his mother.
"How bout, until my father shows up, you watch me inflict pain on your son? Hmm? That sound good?" Firefly gave a loud laugh and put a circle of flames around the chestnut mare, just high enough that she couldn't jump out, and turned to the colt behind her.
"Time to play, bitch!" She laughed, her eyes growing dark.

Erik _________________
Erik knew that the little fire ball of a horse was getting pissed off very easily. He had pushed his luck too much. But who was he to know? It wasn't his fault if the Zunden had fuses shorter than his. Something told him that this filly was very hot headed and high strung normally. She just seemed like the time to be easily bothered and out looking for a fight.
The black stallion was about to high tail it out of Fuoco when a voice made him freeze in his spot. His mother. Why was she here too? How foolish of her. He could've been gone by now, ut no, she had to come in and play heroine. As flattering as it was, it made Erik angry. What made matters even worse was that Firefly was becoming more and more agitated and was not directing her words of hatred at Lynx.
Erik snorted and glared at his mother. "You idiot!" he yelled at his mother. "Why in all of hell would you come here?! You just made matters worse." he accused, knowing that this was not going to turn out good for him or for his mother. Erik reasoned in his mind that he should stay and let his mother go. No one would really miss Erik if he was gone, but there were too many horses who loved Lynx. She was much more valauble to this world than he was, and if she had a half a brain she would realise that herself and get out while she still could.
Once Erik saw the rung of fire go around Lynx and the little fiery brat turn in his direction he knew that fate hated him. Without thinking he charged at Firefly, hoping to slam into her and knock her around enough so her concentration would be broken and his mother could be freed.

Lynx gave the Zuden an odd stare as she randomly told her about her losing someone to a Reaper. That was all very nice, but really? That in no way contributed to the current situation as far as she could see, but perhaps she was distracted by the fact that her son was in mortal danger. So much so, that she could barely move out of the way fast enough when a line of fire was shot over at her. Lynx jumped away with a squeal, but couldn't save the ends of her mane that singed in the heat. She snorted, eyes wide, staring at where she was just a moment before as the fire died in the snow. Lynx's head whipped back around when her son spoke. "Watch your mouth. I could ask you the same thing," she retorted, shaking her mane. And then the filly shot another ball of flame at her, this time it hit her on the nose. She cried out and closed her eyes, stamping the flames out by wiping it off on her leg. When she looked up again, she was suddenly circled in a ring of fire.
Her eyes widened and her face fell as the filly turned her attention back to Erik, but he seemed to be already on it, leaping at the mare. Lynx couldn't say she approved, but it was better than standing there and getting hurt. And suddenly, the ring of fire around her disapeared. Lynx looked and seen that the snow had melted due to the heat and put out the fire. Wasting no other time, the arab jumped to her son's aid, landing by his side and baring her teeth. When she could, she used all her strength and shoved Erik away with a grunt. She straightened herself and fixed her gaze on the Zuden filly, but spoke directly to the young stallion. "Listen to me," she said, her voice hard but slightly strained. "You are going to go home, no questions asked. You hear me? Go take care of Chrissy, I'm sure she's missing you by now. I'll take care of this." Lynx cast a quick, fleeting glance over at him before back at the filly. "Don't forget I love you, either," she added, her voice softer now. Lynx pawed the ground, suddenly jerking her head up at the Zuden, her eyes flashing. "Want to play? Alrighty then, lets play."

{ Pain, without love. Pain, I can't get enough. Pain, I like it rough Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all. } Firefly | [/blockquote] Firefly gave a snarl so feral, it sounded like it should never come out of an equine's mouth. But she wasn't exactly a normal mare at that.
The mare engulfed herself in flames, hoping that she could scorch the others' mouths so they'd let go. She moved away from them, and merely laughed at the mare as she told her son to run. "Awwwh. Giving yourself up for your own son." She cocked her head, her eyes blazing, a smile forming on her lips. "How pathetic." But she stopped laughing as the mare said she'd play.
Firefly was very sarcastic.
"Oh I'm so thrilled!" She rolled her eyes. "But dear, your much too old to fit my standards. So I think I'll just inflict pain. Much more fun." Firefly giggled, but soon stopped, her eyes growing dark once more.
She circled the older, scarred mare, noting on all of her scars. She prowled around her, waiting to strike. Firefly cocked her head, blowing a small puff of fire from her maw. Finally, she stopped in front of the mare, her tail twitching with anticipation.
Firefly jerked her head to the right, and blew a big puff of fire, aiming at her side. She then returned back to her front and pounced forward, aiming to take hold of her neck and jerk her head back and forth, hopefully inflicting pain. She then aimed to shoot two knives of fire at her right and left ribcage. She smirked, and lit her own whipcord on fire to act as a fiery whip.
Then she aimed to slap the mare in the face, but sadly missed. But that was just to distract her so she could rear, aiming to pummel her ribcage. She set herself on fire in midair, hopefully keeping the other mare off from trying to bite.

Erik shot his mother a very dangerous look. Now was not the time for this pointless fighting. Why did she want him to go anyway? Did she not see that he was the smarter choice to leave in this fiery hell? She had horses who loved her, needed her. She had many horses who loved her. She would be greatly missed by many. Erik would not. It was just a simple truth that she seemed to fail to recognise. She could be so stupid sometimes. It was a shock that he was even related to her.
The stallion rolled his eyes at his mother's words. "No." he said firmly. "Either you leave and I stay, or you stay and I stay. Its as simple as that mother." he simply stated, eyeing Firefly as he got closer. "As the little fire ball said, 'you're much too old for her standards'. Let me stay. We'll have some fun." Erik said, knowing that all he would be doing was meeting his death. He really did not give a damn to tell the truth. Chrissy did not need him anyway. She had been trying to get away from his watchful eye for months now. She would be glad to have all that freedom. She could do whatever her little heart desired.

Lynx narrowed her eyes at the filly as she spoke, her nostrils flaring aprehensively. And then suddenly, something clicked in her mind. She remembered the ravens telling her that a Zuden gave herself up to the Reapers, and this filly kept mentioning how "someone" had been taken by the Reapers. The chestnut smirked at the filly in return, watching her with glittering green eyes. So, that mare must be this ones mother. "Lovely, ain't it?" she said, ignoring her sarcasm, "Atleast, he has a mother to give herself up for him." The chestnut tsked in her throat lightly, shaking her head. "Thats just to bad. And where's you daddy, darling? Surely he would have come to his little one's rescue." Lynx knew she was pushing it, but she knew that the angrier a horse got, the less they could focus when they were fighting.
Her eyes followed Firefly as she circled around her, ignoring her and Erik's comments about her being 'old'. She wasn't old, just more experianced than they were. The arab sized up her opponent, noting her flawless hide that told her she hadn't been in any fights before. Normally she would see that as an advantage, but she was a Zuden, so it would balance out eventually. Lynx tensed as the filly stopped infront of her. When she shot the flames at her side, she was prepared and easily jumped out of the way, but was caught off guard as the filly's teeth enclosed around her neck. Lynx pinned her ears and snarled as her flesh tore, but she wasn't going to give up that easily. She snapped at the filly's ear as hard as she could, rising on her back hooves and flailing her front ones, hoping to claw up her front. A white ring formed around her eyes as she looked over to see the fire cut across her right side. She screamed, pulling away from the filly and jumping out of the way as another one was aimed for her left side. She grit her teeth as her shoulder flared in agony, her had flesh melted away until there was only blood and muscle.
Lynx flared her nostrils at the mare, jumping back at a flaming tail was lashed at her face but was easily avoided; the cost was though, she only just noticed that the Zuden was aflame as she reared up at her. Acting quickly, Lynx spun around and kicked, spraying up snow and hopefully kicking her in the face as she came down in the process. Her sholder continued to scream in protest at each little movement, and putting stress on it to lift her hind legs up nearly killed her. She trembled but stood her ground, teeth bared defiantly.

{ Pain, without love. Pain, I can't get enough. Pain, I like it rough Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all. } Firefly | [/blockquote] The Zuden's eyes became dangerously dark as the arabian spoke about her mother. But, Firefly, being the daughter of the fire lord was much smarter than this mare thought. She gave a dangerous grin. "My daddy usually pops in to help me burn the bodies." Firefly snickered, but stopped at Lynx nipped at her ear. Her ivories caught the tip of it, and it was bit off in the mare's mouth.
Firefly snarled, her ear blazing with pain. But she gave a dark laugh as the mare screamed with pain, the glare of the fire burning away the flesh on Lynx's shoulder reflecting in her red eyes.
Firefly squealed as snow was sprayed on her, smoke filling the air as the fire died down. Firefly was beyond mad at the moment. Her body was twitching, her pelt sizzling. She bared her ivories, and backed up a moment to stand near a small crack in the earth to dry off a little bit.
Her attention was turned to Erik as he told his mother to leave. "She won't listen, stupid little twit. Mothers never listen." Firefly merely stated darkly before shaking her pelt off.
The Zuden mare stood there a few more analizing the situation. The arabian mare was weakening, Firefly could see from the trembling. The colt however, was still unharmed. Firefly looked between the two, and in her mind made up the decision to go with Erik before she damaged the mare anymore. If she injured the colt enough or killed him, she could go for the mare with her left over energy and easily finish her off.
Firefly stared over the mare and took a couple fast steps forward. She stopped, grinned, and ran. But she turned at the last moment, and caught herself on fire and aimed to rear and singe Erik badly. Hopefully, if she wounded him bad enough she could stall the mare more to injure Erik more.

Erik _________________
The beginning of the fight between Lynx and Firefly only lasted a minute or two, but more damage was done than in a normal fight. Erik flattened his ears and came face to face with Firefly. "Why don't you pick on someone who can put up a hell of a fight?" he sneered. The Zunden had chosen the easier of the two. Typical. They always went for the one who would be weakened first. It was just easier for them. It was one of their many weaknesses. Did they not see that if they attacked the more able bodied horses first, they would have an easier time dominating the others?
Finally the Zunden filly faced Erik and shot a flame at him. He dodged the first one with a smirk on his maw. "Oh so you wanna dance now do you?" The filly then reared at him, which he was not really expecting. His reflexes were slower this time as her hot hooves grazed his pelt as he awkwardly moved out of the way. His eyes widened a bit at the feeling of getting branded with a hot iron. Erik quickly shook off his coat and said "Is that all you got?" He then made a charge for her, his teeth seeking out the soft flesh of her neck.

Lynx kept her green eyes locked on the Zuden filly, her nostrils flaring as she steadied her breathing. Her shoulder's pain dulled slightly as the cold air began to numb her open wound, a quietest of hissing coming from the wound as her body heat escaped from her wounds into the frosty air. The mare studied the missing tip of the filly's ear with slight smugness; it goes to show that Zuden weren't all so high and mighty as they thought they were. Lynx tensed uneasily as the Zuden seemed to be calculating the situation. She pinned her ears as the brown mare suddenly charged but veered at the last minute to charge over at Erik, who was virtually unharmed up till this point. She spun around to face them, fear gripping her heart as she saw the flames miss her son, but the filly's hot hooves slash across his pelt.
The chestnut mare was again reminded that she was, as they put it, too "old." This still bothered her a lot, but she told herself it was a petty time to be worrying about that, and put her mind back into focus of the current situation. Lynx smirked evilly as Erik's teeth wrapped around Firefly's throat, giving the overall vibe of approval. Normally, a mother wouldn't approve of her son trying to commit murder. But obviously this would be an exception. Seeing her opportunity and her shoulder not hurting as badly as it did before, the arab squealed and jumped at Firefly from behind, her ears pinned and head low as she snapped out with her maw pulled back, exposing her ivories as she aimed to tear into the flesh of the Zuden's hindquarters.

Then he said If you want to get out alive, Run for your life. } Firefly | [/blockquote] The mare felt the colt's ivories tear at the flesh on her neck. The stupid little thing was far away from trying to kill her, and Firefly merely smiled and the blood trickled down her neck and onto the hard ground. The ground had been stripped on the foot of snow that had been stuck to the earth, and now the earth was barren, cold and damp.
Firefly felt dull ivories graze across her rump clumsily, and the mare backed up to cock a brow at the mare. She shook her head and turned her attention back to Erik.
A smug little smirk slithered its way across her tainted maw. The Zuden shook her mane and her bodice combusted into flames.
Her small body crackled with the flames as she stared at them with black eyes. A dark laugh sounded from the mare as she watched them, circling them menacingly.
"Oh Daaaaddyyy!" The Zunden turned and called over her shoulder before stopping to face them. The mare laughed and flicked her flaming tail in a bored manner.

Erik _________________ »» Once Erik felt the metallic taste of the Zunden's precious blood, an almost crazed smirk danced upon his lips. His once serious emerald optics now became dark with some sort of new found aberration that would strike fear through most horses. The delirious look on the young stallion's face probably would not bother a Zunden. They were too caught up in themselves to notice anything about anyone. They were just a bunch of narcissistic bastards who had it coming to them one day. They may have scoffed and tried to kill anyone who said it to them, but that was the only way they knew how to react to the truth.
»» Unfortunately for Erik, Firefly pulled back and gave her own twisted laugh about her injury she had just sustained. It seemed to be that they, Erik and Firefly, were two in the same, yet so very different. He had always found it funny how two creatures so similar could not see past a petty thing like a herd feud, or a mutual thing they were fighting over. Erik had seen it so many times on his travels through observing the behaviour of those around him. It was strange how ones psyche worked.
»» Erik's thought process did not last long. The Zunden mare had spontaneously combusted and was standing aflame before him. As she opened her mouth Erik expected her to vocalize some sort of challenge. He was a bit surprised to say the least when she called for her father. "What's the matter? Too much for you to handle?" Erik mocked her in a light, sing-song voice.
»» Aiden had not been far from this small-scale scuffle. He had been informed by one of the resident phoenixes that two riff raff had wandered into his precious land and started to harass Firefly. Even though Aiden refused to acknowledge Firefly as the heir to the land and leader position, he still felt some affection for her and was worried about her every now and then. He figured that this was a normal 'fatherly' thing to do.
»» Aiden was no more than a few strides from the spot where this supposed skirmish was when he heard Firefly calling for him. The stallion wasted now time in brushing past Lynx, to get near his daughter. "Leave 'er alone boy." he snarled getting up in Erik's face, only to be a bit surprised when he realised that this other stallion was taller than he was. Size did not matter, only power.
»» Erik did not even flinch when the high and mighty fire lord Aiden strode up to him as if he were king of the world. Erik resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the childish arrogance of this stallion. He remained standing as still a statue as Aiden's optics bore into him with such hatred. Erik could almost sympathize with this brute. Aiden seemed to hate the world and everyone just as much as Erik did. Funny. Erik and this stallion were alike in more ways than one, just like Firefly.
»» Nevertheless, Erik decided to make the first move. They could not stna dhtere all day gazing at eachother with hate in their hearts. The stallion's teeth reached the fire lord's pulsing neck and sunk in. Erik let out a primal growl as he bit deeper into the flesh and began to tear downwards.
»» The Fire Lord had enough of this fool's tough-guy appearance. Who did he think he was not showing respect to his future leader like that? With out any warning, Aiden was almost knocked off of his feet by the ruffian. Next thing he knew, he felt a sharp pain in his neck and let out a whinny of surprise. What the hell did that bastard think he was doing?!
»» It only took second for Aiden to realise that if he did not do soemthing quickly then he might be killed. That was never to happen. The Fire Lord pushed back with all his might, this time knocking Erik off balance. "I'll teach you." Aiden snarled. With a quick stamp of his hoof a circle of fire went around him and Erik.
»» Now it was Erik's turn to get knocked around. He had to give the Zunden credit for his quick thinking. He wasn't as stupid as Erik has percieved him to be. He quickly regained his balance and his eyes snapped back to the Zunden who had somehow conjoured a ring of fire around them. "Afraid I'll get away?" Erik provoked as he trotted around the circle, trying to throw Aiden's aim off.
»» Erik's words were enough to send Aiden over the edge. With a flick of his sooty tail a whipcord of fire lashed out at Erik. Aiden missed the first time. He quickly figured out the black stag's pattern and hit him on the leg, catching it slightly on fire. Aiden let out a cackle and whipped the fire at him again, this time encasing it around part of his face and neck. Aiden stopped and continued to project a laugh that only belong to those who were clinically insane.
