Scared of My Shadow digested with complete intent the words that Ice Rose bore forth for his thoughtful, or lack there of, consideration. It was true that the companionship would allow him the sanity for his heart not to collapse and sputter its last dying breath in the frozen tundra of land, but the thought of her freezing in the winter wild was just, if not more, of a torment that portrayed his new found selfishness toward her. Offering a smile, his brain mulled completely over the thought as the delicate head of the light pelted stag turned to gaze into the captivating ashen orbs with admiration.
'Only if you wish it....' For Hollow, the words did little justice for what his thoughts bordered, but he knew that the mare could easily read the true intentions in the iris of sparkling blue. Bestowing this upon her for the reading, form was taken in complete train as time ticked with slow forming pools through the history present. Offering another mere touch of muzzle as her own choice of chance, the massive stallion took a step forth to exit the shelter and into the force of winter wonderlands.
Frozen hint of wind easily stripped himself of breath as lungs almost collapsed in more than idle breeze. Moving forward with clipped motions, muscles groaned with ardent protest as each stilt racked tensely. Ears fell back for protection as he found himself searching for the dark pelted stallion without thought. There was not much of a choice in the manner, Hollow thought with consideration, Lassan was most likely having just the luck he was. Giving a loud trumpet, he hoped the lead would take care to reply.

The black stag had searched for his family through his land, turning up with nothing. They must have all gone to do somwthing for the day. Lassan was a just a bit sad. He really enjoyed the company of Ice Rose and Hollow so he figured his family would as well. He had asked Giltrent, his raven friend, if they had went anywhere certain. The raven had just shrugged at him but said that he thought he had seen Cosette on the beach. Lassan smiled at this information and told Giltrent to go fetch her and where she could meet him.
In the mean time, Lassan was on his way back to Rose and Hollow. Hopefully they had stayed in the same spot where he had left them, or if they had not wandered far. If they had, then he would just have to send a raven to scout the duo out for him. Luckily, none of this was needed seeing as he saw them just up ahead. He let out a whinny and jogged up to them with a soft look on his face.

Rose could see the dark black frame of the stallion Lassen in the distance as she hid in the trees. Her icy barrier finally was back up, the mare seeming to be shielded again. The snow wasn't that bad out, and she was unconcerned. She's survived through worse weather. She stepped out from the trees, stepping into the snow, which was still not deep to the mare. She stepped through the snow with ease, walking towards the pair of stallions ahead of her. The snow rested on her coat, blew back off because of the slight winds and the snow flakes being so light. She stepped up quietly, her silent way of walking didn't even make the snow make that weird creaking crunch sound below her weight. She walked up, next to Hollow, sliding silently to a stop. Her critical icy barrier seemed to hold strong now, not showing any signs it gave way.

The cremello stallion observed silently the distant silhouette of the ebony-pelted stag Lassan as to withhold interest upon the current happenings. The impassive mask characteristic to Hollow was once more fitted with a firm grip as if to offer a self assured smirk to features to properly make it all stick. Exhaling with soft insistence, he did not even have to allow a tempted glance in Ice Rose's direction to clearly feel the barrier shield her once more. An ache seemed to grow in his chest with the cold front, a sharp pain that made his entire frame throb. Yet, he ignored it to continue gazing with silent ceremony.
A collected whinny escaped his throat is if already prepared before this moment. It echoed with ringing tones, as if a welcome to the heavens themselves. His ears pricked forth with feigned immersal as his mind blocked out the recent strands of memory relating to what he and the mare had shared. This was not something of debate to himself, not a matter of how well it played as dream. Shifting slightly his massive frame to better steady himself, Hollow thought.
Concentrating on the sole task of breathing without uneven gasps, a snort flared nostrils as delicate head tucked to chest with the collection of raw flakes upon broad back. Stifling the urge to shake the new formation upon the mare at his side to make light of this, he stood gloomily before laughing to himself in more of hushed chuckle about that particular thought. The gleam in his eyes sharpened drastically as he glanced with meaning at Rose before turning back to Lassan's approaching frame.

Lassan's choclate optics flicked between the two horses. Obviously they had been fine wandering around until he had returned. Lasasn couldn't help but notice something different between the two. It was not something obvious that anyone could tell you, but a very subtle something that Lassan could not quite figure out what it was.
The stallion shrugged off the weird sense he had just gotten and proceeded to speak to the two. "Unfortunately my family has decided they have better things to do than let me find them. I did find my daughter Cosette. She should be on her way soon." Lassan said, looking over his shoulder as if expecting Cosette to show up any minute. Lassan liked to make his new members feel welcomed, introduce them to family and herd so that they felt comfortable. Lassan knew how awkward some horses felt meeting for the first time.

(Okay, this will be crappy and short....)
Rose felt Hollow glance at her for a moment. She acted uninterested even though she was tempted to look over at him herself. She watched to were Lassan looked to, and stared there. She didn't care if Hollow didn't like her out in the cold weather that she was use to, all except her earthly body. She kept the cold grey eyes in the direction Lassan looked from, shifting her weight now to relieve a leg of weight, feeling the snow flutter past her, land on her and flutter off again before they melted on her thin like coat. Her eyes sifted though, to look at Lassan. She saw he knew something happened between them, but he was probably oblivious to the fact of what. Her eyes glance at Hollow, forcing the ice barrier to stay up her her own sake.

Scared of My Shadow's ears flicked forth with feigned interest as they processed the words the stallion Lassan offered the pair. A smile quaked across his features, decidedly ignoring the passing gaze of the mare as his head quickly dipped before he allowed himself to give answer. A look would only explain more that he already knew held within her passive gaze. The cold dismissial brought on by the dark pelted stag. Hollow would therefore not allow himself the pretense of jealous when he knew full well she was trying to protect herself. A shield to the world that made her untouchable.
Raising himself once more to full height, the sky gave grace to his pelt as he chose his next words, 'Maybe we will both have the fortune to meet them on our own terms then, though I am more than happy at your finding one of them.' Another quick, charismatic smile was given, characteristic to the stag, as if to push away all tension mounting between the three of them. He gaze quickly returned to the heavens as he almost felt lost in the expanse of heavy clouds, the cascading snow blurring vision all around.
What, in exact, did the ashen stallion see between the two? Not a matter of how they hid it, for he knew too well that Lassan was quite versed in the arts of reading fellow equines. He crystalline oculars bestowed themselves back upon the stag as a moment of flinting decision as he softly continued inhaling the icy winds. Consideration to keep his mind in check, he seemed to fit the impassive illusion of mask tighter across his features without the sense of abandon.

Lassan continued to try and figure out what exactly had gone on between the two horses. The more he observed Rose, he could tell that she was different. Different in a sense that something about her personality had snapped into place and changed subtly during the time he was away. He knew it was none of his business, but he wanted to know. Lassan had always been a curious horse with a need to know mind set.
As for Hollow he could tel that the stallion was trying to compose himself so it looked as if nothing had happened. Lassan could easily see past that. You don't spend your whole life leading a big herd full of constant drama without being able to notice small mannerisms and how they fluctuated. Lassan would be polite and not utter a word about his careful observations, but it would cause him to be more vigilant around the pair in the future. He was bound and determined to figure this out for himself.
"Perhaps." Lassan said in reply to Hollow's comment. "The more you wander around, you'll be able to meet many of the herd members. This place is unique in that everyone lives their own lives." he commented, trying to act oblivious to the looks that were being exchanged between his two new herd members.

Cosette had been told by her father's messenger raven, Giltrent, that she was wanted to meet some new herd members. That sounded brilliant to her. She had spent her day wandering around the beaches, doing nothing in particular. It would be very nice to have a change of scenery and have new horses to talk to.
The young mare was a very personable horse who was always eager to meet anyone. When she was younger she had always come off as boisterous and obnoxious to others, but as she got older she had mellowed down some and now could hold intelligent, polite conversations.
Cosette finally found the spot where Giltrent had told her that her father and the new herd members would be. A smile crept up on her face as she walked up to them. Her father had recruited a fine looking stallion and an equally as pretty mare. She found it funny how her father always picked up the good looking ones. "Hello." she said with a bob of her head. "Welcome to the herd, I am Cosette."

(Somehow, I feel my inner Rose not feeling the least bit alarmed by what Cosette)
Rose stood there, her eyes catching the figure sooner that most horses would of been able to, her senses keener. She flicked her audios slightly forward, hearing the gait that carried the young mare here. She then reverted once more to her shyer ways, taking a few steps back for her own personal space. She wasn't use to horses wanting to be close to her. But she found it surprising how easily she adapted to being around Hollow, and yet other horses, she wanted he space from. She listened to the mare announce her as Cosette as she finally came into a good hearing shot range. Her icy eyes turned critical she accessed the mare before her. Rose was good at seeing horses for who they really were, just from looking at them. She could see the mare was excited and happy, nice. She was a beauty, in a normal horse color terms, but she wouldn't be surprised if this mare would find herself a nice stallion who'd see past the outer beauty. Rose nodded to the mare slightly. "Ice Rose" Her cold, ice grey eyes soon turning away from the mare was soon as her words ended. Rose stood there, remaining in her own silence.

The cremello painted stallion's delicate petaled ears swiveled forth as in wait for the turn for himself to make an introduction, intent upon the audios exhaling from Ice Rose as her previous behavior was mimicked cleanly, the shyness ever so marked on the mare. A smile sort of assured smile captured his maw cleanly as Hollow bowed his head to the mare Cosette, blue oculars raising once more to merely skim the surface of her own orbs before he choice to offer his words.
'Scared of My Shadow, Hollow, at your service,' Eyes sparked slightly as his voice captured the silent rapture, the tone passive enough to suite the meeting of strangers, as if though his mind was far from uneasy. Wind lifted the light trendils of mane as the massive stag stood with normal etched stance in the expanse of terrain.
The meeting was all of he would expect, as well as the newcomer's own temperament that was easy enough to be with a sense of ease. Yet the happenings of late were momentarily pushed to the back of filtered mind as he waited without other speech for the chosen line of conversation to continue on. For Scared of My Shadow did not comfort the mare, his mate, even though that part of him wished to nicker to her warmly of contentment as well as trust. Instead, his posture reached out to her, telling the odd pelted fea that he was at ease with the pair before them, and she should try the same.

(Hollow, Hollow, Insanity isn't happy with ya! XD And Hollow isn't boring as a brick, he's just not being entertaining at the moment! XD)
Ice Rose saw the change in Hollow's posture, but she still didn't change, not even lowering her criticalness in her ice cold eyes. She did not shift anything, not a slight change. The mare stood there watching them in her quiet silence as the rest of them stood there. She didn't sift her eyes to Hollow, or to anyone. They sort of wandered, not focusing on anything really. Rose watched as the snow settled, and the flow stopped from the sky. Her eyes then focused to the sky, watching it, even with slowing fall of snow going for her eyes. She could see the light grey clouds, which didn't come close to he hauntingly pale grey eyes, move away, to reveal the sky underneath.
