The cool, sugary sweet air of spring was beginning to fade into the warm blanket of summer, and life in Isola Dei Dei was returned to its full swing. It was during this time that Scarrlette decided to leave the sanctuary of Liberta and make a life of her own. She was nervous, of course, but she was happy to finally break free from the lazy haze of Lassan's land. Her mother taught her all she knew, and although her sir was never around, her step-uncle Polaris filled in as that substitute. She would forever be grateful to him for that. She had no hard feelings against her sire, but she didn't think she would ever consider him her father. She decided a fresh start and maybe a new herd would shake away her juvenile years and spend time as the young adult she had become.
She was curious to see how others reacted to her appearance, since she grew up in a herd where unusual coloring was nothing to bat an eyelash at. Her coat was a light chestnut, but her entire head was a dark grey, and she had a pair of pink-red eyes that was here mother's reason for calling her Scarrlette. A bit cliche like naming an appaloosa Spotty, but she liked it. If she was a task unusual, she could only imagine the other horses she could meet out here in the unclaimed lands. She picked Cascata because she hears so many nice things about the calming serenity of the willow trees and the sound of the creek that seemed to be present where ever she walked. Its reputation really lived up to its name.
The late afternoon sun still burned in the sky as she nosed her way around a blackberry bush, her nostrils flaring at their slightly sweet scent. Berries were a treat, and she was surprised any other animal hadn't come along to strip the bush. She immediately set on doing that herself, nickering softly in pleasure at the tart taste.
ooc: wow this post is so random xD Sorry Dx

- are you a saint or sinner? === - The lovely maiden wasn't the only one in the cascata più forrest this day, it seemed. although he himself had considered him as such only moments before hand, his golden locks tousled in the soft breeze and his coat ablaze in sparkles thanks to the soft light that reflected off the flow of the waterfall. laying amongst the cool dew covered grasses, the young prince of servo venia released a soothing breath through his nostrils, soft earthen hues closing in contentment. home was just around the bend now; just beyond the wood and through the mountain path after that. perhaps he and ares should get a move on then, with home being so close, but after traveling so far and so long... a short rest in familiar terras for weary pistons was exactly what the healer called for. wherever ares had gone was lost to saber at the moment, but he was certain that wherever the lovely roulette was, his brother was no doubt only a step behind, trailing after her like a lost pup. ever since meeting the maiden, she'd haunted ares' every waking thought. as much as he tried to deny such whenever saber brought the subject up, it was as obvious as a cougar in the open that ares was enchanted by the delicate bay woman. now all that was needed was for their father to meet this enchantress - he was certain she would make quite the impression on the immortal king, in an extremely good way too.
audits flicked softly as the sound of muted footfalls reached him from his resting place, orbs blinking awake as he raised his crown from the grassy blanket below. his first thought was that ares had returned, so soon at that, but he quickly put that thought to rest; there was only one set of footfalls, after all, and ares barely went anywhere that roulette didn't go these days. that only left one other option. rising to his talons, the perlino prince turned his bodice in the direction the footfalls came from, setting a course towards them in curiosity as he picked up the feelings coming from that direction; excitement, joy, pleasure, and a hint of adventure, all rushing over him in a tidal wave that made every nerve ending along his robes spark alive. ever curious as to who or what these feelings were coming from, the young stag craned his boa over the brush in searching... and then felt his entire world come to a screeching halt with a sudden sharp intake of breath.
oh, great gods above. every thought process and muscle seized up and froze in its tracks, derailed completely as he stood stock still, the only sound in his audits the frantic beating of his own heart slamming against his ribcage. before him was perhaps the most beautiful maiden he'd ever laid orbs on, merely a few measly leaps away. in honesty, saber had seen many a mare in his short three years, and lots of them had been lovely, but none had ever had this sort of effect over him. and if he could recall, none were ever this beautiful either. slowly, he tried to will his pistons to move him back, just barely remembering to breathe when the burn against his lungs became apparent. he managed two steps before freezing once again as the loud crack of splintering wood echoed over the area, the crunch against the underside of his talon jump-starting his dead brain into action again. oh lord, now what? there wasn't no way she didn't hear that. should he run? no that didn't sound right. what should he say? could his tongue even work right now, it felt so heavy in his mouth? what if she got the wrong idea with his staring and fled? ...where was ares when you needed him!? Scarrlette pricked her ears as she spotted some small movement on the forest floor, and watched as a chipmunk scuttled away from his tree over to the bush that she was currently picking off of. She paused to watch him as he watched her, his tail twitching as if expecting her to try and chase the little creature away. After a moment she snorted and returned to plucking the berries from the bush, trying her best not to grab some twigs along with it. She jerked her head back slightly in surprise as the was suddenly almost nose to nose with the chipmunk. It stared at her a moment, before shoving a few berries in it's cheeks, before scrambling away and back up it's tree. She laughed softly, shaking her head. Those little things always were entertaining even if they didn't intend to be.
A scent reached her that wasn't there before, and she raised her head to glance around her. There was another horse nearby that she had probably missed while she was wandering through here early. She wondered briefly if she should go investigate, but decided to leave it be and wait to see if they came to find her. If they didn't by the time that she was finished dining on her wild treat, she would go find them herself. Even though she only just left Liberta, it was safe to say she was disappointed by the lack of horses around. She knew a lot of it was because many were afraid of the Anima that were lurking the islands, snapping up any unwary victim, and there was always the ever present threat at of the Zuden, but they seemed to have returned to their lands. She had picked up the habit of socializing with the ravens, who always seemed to know everything going on with the island at once. She had learned it from her mother Chrissy, who was always talking to them whenever Polaris wasn't visiting, and she had learned it from her mother, Lynx. They were chattery and friendly creatures, and were always eager to help out their equine comrades. On many occasions they had made themselves useful, but for the most part they were just good friends. She wondered if any would flag her down soon, probably recognizing her from her mother.
A loud snap of a twig caught her attention, and she looked up from her bush to find a young stallion standing there, looking like a deer caught in headlights. Her scarlet eyes blinked in slight confusion- what was wrong with him? She didn't see any fear on his face, so the idea that there may be a predator or any of the dangerous breeds of horses around was out of the question. Turning away from her midafternoon snack, she stepped towards him, her ears pricked as she offered a friendly smile. "Hello there," she greeted cheerfully, hoping to snap him out of whatever sort of state he was in. That was a bit weird- no one ever froze when they approached her before.
