** The chill of the darkness is quite the addicting drug, isn't it? the way the shadows crawl over your skin is more than enough to give even the most fearless of beast goosebumps, the way each tendril of shadow that dances through your gaze reminding you that you've no idea what lies ahead, lurking, waiting to pounce. light itself doesn't seem to venture here, in the dark lands, where bleakness reigns and the black of heart creep up from the lowest levels of hell. forsaken by the golden light of the sun, all but forgotten by everything save for the vermin, the insects, of this cold world. the perfect area for evil to fester and grow. the ground beneath his blades is soft, palpable, contorting to the shape of his steps as he stalks through the brush, obsidian figure almost blending with the shadows, melding right into the darkness that lies so thickly around his surroundings. he is no stranger to these familiar shadows, who seem to welcome him back with gentle, intimate caresses that one would expect of a lover, dark hands reaching to drag sinuously over his battle worn bodice, tickling each healing scar and jealously cloaking him from the sight of the world. no, he is no stranger here, not in the least. you are home, aren't you foul beast? and you know it...
** The spring season is rolling in; the harsh grip of winter's grip slowly melts away to make room as the new year begins and new life takes form. the passing months have been both horridly kind and mind numbly cruel to the ebonite demon, the beast who walks alone. fights have been both won and lost, new battle scars have been inflicted upon him, tearing his silks with mars that'll both fade and remain. he's made enemies and acquaintances alike, thought over his plans for domination and tweaked his ideas, oh yes, things have changed in these seasons, but one thing remains the same. you are still yourself, you deceiving silver tongued prince of evil. your heart still beats black, your dead soul cannot be saved. you belong to the night, the dark. and you're proud of it. one day, you will rise above these lesser beings, you will rule and strike anger and fear into everyone you meet. you and yours will never be forgotten! daredevil smirk, arrogant, viciously confidant, crosses his lips at these thoughts, these visions of his future he will make true one way or another. he's well on his way too, all he needs is to defeat one more opponent, one more important opponent, and all he's ever wanted will be his.
** Ah, but wait! that is not all the way true? new thoughts suddenly swim into his cranium, and the smirk falls away. visions of a world so far away echo through his mind, of green grasses lush against the sea, beloved moonlight shining down over the earth... a golden goddess in flesh form approaching. you're thinking of her again, aren't you? oh, what a lasting impression that woman left on you. it's been over a season, and you still can't banish her from your memories. every curve of that perfect figure, every sway of her steps, the taste of her flesh and blood against your tongue and the way she felt against you as you stole her away in the dead of night. handsome features tighten, a harsh snort of annoyance escaping as pistons come to a stop next to some water-logged ferns, audits flicking backward as his dial lowers, orbs misty in a haze as his mind travels back in time. a heart once thought dead now pangs in want, in need and desire, so hard it hurts physically to think of it. he's not taken another woman to bed since her either; not even the filthy, wanton whores and innocent maids can take his mind away from her... the angelic goddess, his goddess.
** She never answered did she, broken demon? you fell for heaven's most prized angel and she left you hanging. what started off as a simple one night stand turned into something else for you, but as your pleasures wound down, you asked her for more... and she never answered. so you left, each going your separate ways. she returned to her herd, you left for your shadows. the onyx male practically growls as he shakes his dial, ruby and obsidian banners flying up from his serpentine. he'd never admit it, but it hurt worse than any wound he'd ever received when she refused to answer him. at least a simple no would've been better than this - because maybe then... maybe then he could stop thinking about her. look what you've done to me... he whispers on the wind, orbs softening in remembrance. why can't i forget you? he asks, but just like that day, he'll receive no answer... or will he?
