[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]Revenant didn't know if he should be happy that the cold weather of winter was finally ebbing away from Isola, that the snow was melting, the birds were singing in the trees surrounding the grand meadow of his harem. For some odd reason, the Hielo stallion stood still at the foot of the great mountain range, his ears tilted forward, listening to the melodies the birds were singing around him. So many different tunes, some of them he had never heard before. A gentle sigh escaped the ivory stallion, and hooves moved his large body forward, tail swaying behind his body as he walked across the marshy ground. Due to the snow melting now, with the sun warming the land around him, his hooves sank into the muck, the mud tugging at him, trying to keep him in place.
Revenant was alone in his lands, just like he had been before winter had taken it's hold of Isola. Not a single horse had stumbled upon Felwood's borders, looking to join the single member herd. It didn't bother the stallion as much as it would another horse, Revenant was used to being alone. But, perhaps with spring creeping along, it would usher in new horses, horses who would look to the white Hielo for guidance. As Revenant moved along, he let his mind wander. What came to mind was something he hadn't thought about in quite a long time.
Aithne. The first horse he had ever come across when he was first wandering Isola. The Zunden who had been so sweet to him at first, then so cold. The first horse who had ever shown the slightest interest in the ivory stallion. A violent shake of his head brought Revenant from his daydream, just in time to avoid colliding with the stream that ran the length of the meadow. Looking down at the churning waters, a hoof reached forward, pawing at the surface of the stream. It had swollen due to the amount of snow that had melted from around it's banks.
The Hielo didn't move from the water's edge, just stood there, staring down at the rushing waters.

It had been a while since she had last decided to show her face around Isola. She had been devastated for quite some time - her mate, Stranger, had simply vanished from existence. She knew he just simply wouldn't up and leave her on purpose, and she could only just accept that he was gone and move on. But she loved him, so it would take her a while to fully process that he was gone. The one horse she had loved had to be taken away from her. Fate was cruel to her. But now the feeling was just numbness; she kept herself distant but polite to whomever she spoke to. Death seemed to follow her like a plague. Why bring herself close to anyone when she was destroying lives that way?
Revenant was an example. She had realized shortly after she had met him it was better to leave him be and no longer interfere with his life more than she had. She had that epiphany once he had been granted his powers from the Hielo on her deathbed; he was an important figure now, perhaps the last of the breed, and his death would be bad for the fragile balance on the island. But lately, she had regretted her decision; she wished to see him again, if perhaps for a moment. He would probably be surprised to see her, after she had left so quickly. He couldn't entirely blame her; fire and ice didn't mix well, and her temper had been flaring just in a Hielo's presence. But it was worth a try, just to stop in and see how he was fairing now that she had heard he had gotten his own lands. She was almost cautious as she stepped into the territory, her ears swiveling on top of her head. She could faintly smell the stallion on the wind, and followed after the source, and eventually she came across him, drinking from a source of water. She nickered softly to gain his attention as she approached, before pausing a few feet away. "Hello, Revenant."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]It was almost as if his thoughts had turn into a reality, as a changing wind brought the scent of a mare to the Hielo. Not just any mare, either. Aithne. Ears danced forward on the ivory stallion's head, golden eyes leaving the surface of the water to scan the treeline before him. As the shadows moved, and the Zunden broke free of her cover, Revenant brought his head up from the stream, golden eyes narrowing. Her leaving had left a bitter taste in his mouth, a faint feeling of betrayal and anger.
As she stopped before him, the large stallion lifted his head up in the air, golden eyes staring down at the mare who dared enter Felwood. Resentment swirled in his gut, and he stomped a hoof on the mucky ground as she spoke. Ah, so you've come crawlin' back, hm, a hiss escaped him, as his shoulder twitched as an uneasy feeling washed over him. Why exactly was this mare here? Ears tilted back toward his skull, as his tail snaked behind his body, whipping out at his hindquarters. What is it you want, Aithne? Hurt lined his words, as he stayed on his side of the stream, small snowflakes falling around his body despite the warming temperatures of the island.

Immediately after the white stallion looked up, she could tell he wasn't too happy to see her. It perplexed her, not really understanding why. She met his gold eyes with her own golden ones, her brow furrowing as she stood there almost awkwardly. Was he really that offended that she had left after only knowing him for less than an hour? Or did his demeanor just suddenly change? The last she had saw him, he had left her to take care of the dead Hielo's body to go look at himself in the water. If he was angry with her for leaving, then he had another thing coming to him. Her ears pinned back apprehensively, watching him carefully. "Hello to you too," she said, voice laced with sarcasm, irritated with him now. How extremely rude. She could tell his temper was flaring by the small snowflakes that began to twirl around his body, and in response, the moist ground below her began to steam against the heating of her hooves.
"What exactly is your problem? I came to see how you were, and this is how you greet me? Guess you've finally adapted to the Hielo nature, huh? Hawkish and brusque, of course. I had hoped that we would've pushed past our differences of our breed, but apparently you aren't interested in that." She glared at him, stepping back and turned away. Her ears remained flat and her tail whipped on her haunches a she began to stalk away, not even bothering to say goodbye. Goes to show friendships were worthless, anyhow, then.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]Their moods had already clashes, although Revenant wasn't the least bit sorry they had. A snort escaped the Hielo stallion, and muscles bunched underneath his ivory coat, as he launched himself across the stream after the retreating Zunden. Aithne, wait, he nickered after her, his hooes sloshing within the soggy ground, as he caught up to the mare. He huffed, slowing his pace beside her, tail swaying as he trotted. I'm sorry that I acted like that. It's just that after I cooled off, I came back and you were gone. I wasn't going to go chase you down, either, the Hielo's nostrils flared, as he slowed to a walk, so that he and Aithne were walking at the same pace.
Of course, there was going to be some tension between the two horses. Their elements weren't exactly buddy buddy, anyways. Even now, as the Hielo stood next to the Zunden, he felt the heat radiating from her body, causing his to grow too hot. Shaking his head, he snorted again, the heat driving him slightly insane.

Aithne glanced back over at Revenant as he called after her, and only decreased her pace slightly to allow him to catch up and talk to her. She raised an eyebrow at him as he explained himself, and had to suppress a laugh, and only huffed at him. How ridiculous was he? "You're mad just because of that? I left because I had a few things I needed to do, and I didn't think you would care too much since you walked off after telling me to take care of that Hielo's body. Besides, we'd only just met, no one usually is angry if a stranger leaves," she said, slowing her walk to a stop as she looked at him. She then shrugged her shoulders; some others reacted to things differently. But nevertheless, it was still irritating to be treated so coldly after not seeing him for a while. "I would've visited you earlier, but I've had a few things that prevented me from doing so," she told him, pain briefly flashing in her eyes before disappearing. "How have you been fairing since getting your land and powers?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]He hated to admit it, but Aithne was right. No one usually got so upset after a stranger left? Perhaps it was because no other horse had shown interest in him since he arrived upon Isola. A snort escaped the stallion, as the Zunden stopped, his hooves stopping his ivory body as well. Ears flicked as the mare spoke, and his golden-green eyes watched as pain shimmered within Aithne's eyes. Nostrisl quivered, and Revenant stomped a hoof. Eh, it's been better. As you can see, not many horses live in Felwood. I think this place is cursed, after Hannibal and his brood lived here. Revenant remembered the story behind Hannibal, his mate Tuula, and the rest of the unfortunate family. The Hielo shook his head slightly, but let a small smile cross his maw.
I won't ask you how you've been doing... I can sense that it wasn't the best of times for you, with that, he reached his maw out, rubbing it against the mare's shoulder gently. Even to the touch, the Zunden's skin felt warm, and the stallion couldn't help but snort against her skin gently. Pulling away, he blinked, and cleared his throat, an uncomfortable silence falling over to the two. After a moment or two, he smiled again, and flicked his tail against his hide. What are you planning on doing after visiting me for a little? Wander around some more, he wasn't worried about her safety, was merely curious as to if she was planning on wandering around still.

Aithne nodded as he spoke about the infamous Hannibal; she wouldn't be surprised to hear that this territory was cursed. There were rumors floating around that he was in league with the devil, and though she had never seen the stallion in person, he was a serious threat to the Züden when he was alive. Perhaps some devil magic would be lingering here. She would hope not, she didn't want misfortune to fall onto Revenant. "I'm sure it will pass. New and unclaimed horses have become very scarce lately," she assured him. True, new blood wasn't common on the island anymore. She didn't understand how, but she hoped it wasn't that way for long. Her eyes softened slightly as he spoke again, nodding appreciatively at his understanding. The loss of Stranger was too fresh of a pain in her heart to want to talk about him. The gesture wasn't lost on her as he touched his muzzle to her shoulder, causing a shiver to run through her body at the sudden frozen touch. She remained quiet for a moment until he spoke up again, and she shrugged her shoulders once more. "Maybe," she said, quite unsure actually. "I was thinking of maybe settling down somewhere. Though wandering is nice, it seems like the constant change of scenery is becoming a bit dull, surprisingly. Besides, when I'm out on my own I seem to always find trouble," she said, her voice holding a bit of amusement.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]In all the time that he had been wandering before claiming Felwood, Revenant hadn't really wandered across too many new horses. They seemed to be washing up less and less, perhaps the storms that plagued the seas around the desolate place calmed. That would certainly be make the number of new blood drop. Ears twitched on top of the stallion's head, as she spoke of settling down. Revenant hadn't really seen Aithne has the type of mare to settle down. A small smile crossed the lead's muzzle, as the thought of the mare living in Felwood with him.
Well, Aithne, if you want to stay here, I don't have any objections to it. As long as you don't scorch me, the young stallion let out a chuckle, obviously thinking it was funny a Zunden lived in the lands of a Hielo. He glanced to the trees around them, feeling as if someone was watching the pair. Shoulder twitched, and he shook the uncomfortable feeling off. It was if these lands were cursed, the spirit of the fallen hell-hound watching the current residents of Felwood.

To say she was surprised as Revenant extended the invitation for her to live here with him would be an understatement. The mare raised her eyebrows slightly, a bit taken aback. Why would he have his polar opposite living in his lands? She could see them fighting often, but maybe it would prove to be interesting experience. "Thank you," she said, smiling at him once her surprise faded. "I think I will stay. After-all, I don't think there's anything left for me to see, anyway. " She watched him curiously gave a look around him, something appearing to bother him, but she didn't comment on it.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]Feel free to wander wherever you please. There isn't any restrictions, unless you feel the need for them to in place, the stallion's tail slapped against his hide, as the uneasy feeling ebbed. Whatever was lurking within the shadows of the trees would have to be explored some other day. For now, tending to Aithne was his top priority. Another smile drifted across the ivory stallion's maw, as he turned to face the mountains towering above the open meadow.
That's the only place I haven't explored. Would you like to go up there with me, he glanced back at her, tilting his head slightly like a dog would.
