a4a4ff SPEECH Now that spring was upon them, the world seemed to open up. Of course, she wasn't able to see the obvious changes; like the budding of trees, the greening of the grass, and the overall teeming of life as the weather changed. No, she could practically feel the mood of her environment change, the scents of the wildflowers beginning to poke from the knolls and the fluttering and chirping of the birds as they rejoiced. Springtime was when she was most happy, it provided a fresh start from the cold winter before. She loved roaming through Cascata during this time, she loved the gentle touch of the willow branches on her skin as she passed through them.
A small smile lingered on her lips though she wasn't aware of it as she thought of the fruit blossoms coming into bloom shortly, and how their floral and appealing scents would pervade the air. Blossoms were always sweet to eat, though she chose not to eat a lot of them so she could allow the trees to fruit later in the year.If she ate all of the blossoms, then she wouldn't be able to eat the fruit. The thought slightly amused her as she strolled along, listening for any unusual sounds though she was the image of ease. Her nose was slightly extended so that she could feel her way around in case she would bump into the trees, but her sharp sense of smell kept her pretty clear of obstacles as if she could see them. What a lovely day..

"Lovely day." The statement was more of a thought, yet the young male had no control over his mouth, it seemed. Cold blues studied the mare, noting her small frame would be of no harm nor resistance if he needed to control her. Which was unlikely due to the fact he had no land and it was unsuitable for him to carry a mare in his bachelor ways. She looked quite young and manipulative, however, which he racked these facts within his brain for later.
It was a rare thing to find another on the isle that was not in the herds, let alone a small mare like the one before him alone. This puzzled the young stallion, cocking his head slightly and resting his hindquarters lazily. "A mare like yourself has no business wandering around aimlessly these days." He stated, lacking the deal of care that the sentence's wording seemed to need. He was young, but not stupid enough to be caught wandering with no shelter and no herd. Even though he lacked a herd himself, he was male, tall and acquired some elemental powers himself even if he would never admit himself. He found the powers as cheating abilities, which he was determined to win without if ever provoked into a fight.

a4a4ff SPEECH Whisper nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of a male voice projecting towards her from very nearby, not realizing that he was there. She really needed to watch how she payed attention, because if she didn't, it could prove harmful to her. She halted her walk and turned her head towards where the voice came from, her sightless eyes scanning with no avail. Only blackness. Her ears flickered nervously on her head, unsure on answering. What did he imply by that? Was he saying that there was a possibility he meant her harm. "I.." she tried softly, before her voice failed her. Worry creased her brow; maybe she should decide to leave as soon as possible. She was already beginning to back away, her nostrils flaring.

The male gave a low smirk but held his ground. "Don't worry yourself, I'm merely trying to spark conversation, although it seems it's not going to be easy." It was meant to be comforting and reassuring, yet the tone lacked the necessities of being such. That was always an issue with him, his words blunt words lacked meaning.
"Blind at such a young age?" Ahriman held no ground within his words, he didn't have use. It was better to get things in the open rather than hide them to come blundering out later at terrible timing. "It's rare to find others with the island with the elementals and the majority seeking shelter elsewhere on nearby lands, you see. I'm merely looking for talk, which you seem to lack." Stomping a hoof to rid the flies, he cracked his whip lazily. It was a warm day for spring and he had always loathed the heat. It was bothersome with sweat and humidity, the sun bright as the flies and insects were a nuisance. The only good thing about spring was mares to cover, which he took note that this one didn't seem like the type he'd take to his future lands as a broodmare. She might make a good starting point, but she was a small mare which would result in smaller offspring, even with his own height.
"I am Ahriman, son of Orpheus, who used to rule this island well until his downfall a year or so ago. Where do you hail from, mare? I do not recall you upon this island, although it is large and the possibility that you have just been within the secluded parts does make sense." He gave, lacking the sensibility to close his mouth and wait for her to speak. It had been months since speaking with another of his own kind and he was bored of his months of isolation.

a4a4ff SPEECH This stallion was certainly blunt with his words, and he didn't seem to mind what he said, though to others and perhaps herself would seem a bit too intimidating or forward. She shrugged her shoulders lightly, unsure on really how to answer to his statement. She wasn't usually used to other horses, preferring to keep herself company and listen to the birds. Of course in the winter, she would have to listen to the lonely sounds of the wind howling across the island. She frowned slightly at his blind comment, always insecure about that, but it was nothing she could help. "It's nothing I can help.." she said, very softly. Sightless eyes wandered, trying to find the direct source of his voice. Her curved ears pricked forward slightly as she listened to him as he spoke again. She knew of Orpheus, he was famous throughout the island. Her mother had told her tales of the dark stallion, and had always made sure that it was in her head to stay away from him. "I'm Whisper," she replied, her voice still her soft quiet tones. "I..I've lived on this island my whole life. My mother made sure I was away from the hustle of other horses." She didn't mind her long forelock falling into her face; it's not like it blocked any of her sight anyway.

The stag gave an amused snort at the thought of the mare's name. It was fitting enough, given her quiet voice and shy nature. "'s fitting, really." He returned with a slight grin.
"Oh, protected childhood? Pity." Ahriman himself had no such childhood, being jostled and toughened from grit at the start of a young age. He shrugged. "S'ppose you're a wanderer, yeah? With your eyes and sense of innocence, you won't last long with the elementals power strong." The male brought his blue gaze on her small stature, and he was sure of his words. This mare would be raped, no, killed before long and he had the possibility to do the deed himself or take her in. He paused his thoughts, allowing his eyes to trail along her frame lazily. What would his father do, given the situation? There was a time, before that pitiful mare messed with his mind, that he had a normal sense of mind. Normal enough, anyway.
"I've got lands a short couple miles south of here. Found the lead dead, only one survivor of his herd. He was willing to come under my reign once he recognized who my sire was." The paint gave a slow shake of his head, ebony tail swaying lazily. "Quite the bargain." He stated, although it was unneeded.
"Small talk aside, I offer you shelter and safety. I bargain with you the cost of offspring, for I need to spread my lineage. I do promise I will not harm you, I offer respect for females of your kind. You remind me of my mother." Advancing, he took a steady breath in of her scent to keep tacked in the wall of his mind for any future needs.
"I will offer you my word to keep your safety a main priority, however, there are lines to be kept uncrossed. My reign is stern, however, it is not harsh. I am not heartless, nor do I intend to be." Cold eyes took in her own silver, and he nodded although she would not see it.
"I also apologize for my blunt offer, however, you see I am a blunt person and I do not take to beating around the bush, per say. I will not force you to take my offer," his words drug on. "It is quite considerate, given the state of the island and its inhabitants. A quite fine offer, if I do say." The paint concluded, drawing his deep words to a final close.

a4a4ff SPEECH Whisper kept her sightless eyes focused towards where the stallion's voice was coming from, eerily not blinking for long periods of time. When she lived with her mother, she would describe things to her in detail about the world around her. She lived with her up until recently, which was a pretty ripe age. Most foals would go make their way in the world around two, but she was three now. She had decided to not push her mother's hospitality, even though she insisted she wasn't a burden and enjoyed her company. It was about time she made her own way. She blinked slowly at her comment, shifting uncomfortably; she hated when her weaknesses were thrown into her face - she was trying to overcome her obstacles, and she was doing pretty well with it if she did say so herself. "There hasn't been any elemental attacks recently as I've heard of," she replied, her dainty curved ears swiveling slightly. "Up until you came along, I was left alone by everyone I've come across." She shied slightly, as if expecting that to offend him in some way. With the bluntness he was treating her to, she realized it probably alright.
She listened to the stallion carefully as he began to introduce the fact that he had acquired territory, and shortly after extended the invitation to her to become apart of his herd. She could say that the thought tempted her; she'd never had a herd life, it was just her and her mother surviving and thriving on their own. But also the idea of being commanded by another horse was a bit daunting. Would she still have the same freedom? Or would she be confined to one area? She supposed it would be safer, with the protection of a stallion and the ability to memorize the territory to make safer navigation. What made her shy away a bit was when he told her the price; foals. She was barely out of being a foal herself, and to be with a child? It seemed not like a job for her. "You seemed to of lost me there, Ahriman.." she said softly, shifting a bit uncomfortably. "A blind mare such as I can't care for a foal. I cannot protect and provide, and I'm barely out of being considered a filly myself. I do really appreciate your offer, but that's not something I can't do for you.. " The white marwari frowned, at unease. Though the stallion seemed like he would allow a no for an answer, she couldn't see any reaction that he may give if it really did turn out negative.

"'m not much older than yourself." The stag breathes, taking a small step forward as he cocks his head. "You are worried of your blindness now? You seemed much confident before," he inquires, stepping forward again for good measure. "There have been mares," He continues slowly, lacking care. "like you," He nods for self composure, his words are true. "blind from birth," It isn't to say it's a disability, nor a deformity. Rather, he thinks of it as a setback.
"who have raised excellent foals." Ahriman finishes, eyes carefully watching for the slightest reaction. "Therefor I do not see why you could not. I would not expect something of someone I thought could not handle it." He proceeds, words confident and strong.
"Story short, Whisper," Lowering his voice considerably, barely above a rumbling whisper. "The elementals are brewing, still. Considerably so since the island is falling."
Eyes steady upon her, he continued. "I wish to take you for your own safety. However, I bargain you with offspring. It is much, I have taken that into consideration." He brought his gaze upwards to the darkening sky. Rain.
"Jigsaw, under my reign, shall keep a watchful eye on you and your foal if you wish. However, at the moment, it is shortly going to rain, and I do not wish to be caught in it and I figure you do not either." He paused, dropping his eyes back to her small frame. "What do you say?"

a4a4ff SPEECH Whisper ears swiveled uneasily on her head, suddenly not liking how the stallion began to slow down his speech for emphasis. She could hear him taking occasional steps, which made her nostrils flare, and caused her to take a few tentative steps backward. She could smell the rain on the wind, and felt the temperature slowly begin to drop as the weather prepared to change. She listened to him as he continued to speak, and it unnerved her at how confident he sounded that she was going to have a foal, and even offered to have someone guard her and said foal. There wasn't even one in existence, and she hadn't even accepted his offer, and yet he was so sure that she was going to follow through and follow after him. She shivered slightly as the wind blew with a slight chill, but she stood still in her place, her eyes still focused on where the stallion could be standing. "You barely met me a moment ago, how do you know I'm capable of being a mother? You ask much of someone you do not know," the young mare said, dropping her head down. "Children is the price for a home, yet I've been safe and unharmed my whole life. Cascata is a strange place to pick up broodmares.. I like the rain, so I think I will stay and enjoy it. Thank you, Ahriman, but foals? I can't.." her voice dropped down to a hushed whisper, afraid of offending him, yet trying to prevent being swayed so easily. She didn't want to be trapt in a land to be subjected to frequent child birth for the rest of her days, with nothing else to look forward to. Perhaps it wouldn't turn out that way, but it was a daunting scenario that kept playing in her mind. No, it was not something for her.

Given the situation, Ahriman could say he was steadily growing frustrated. With his bloodline, he could say it was a dangerous situation if he were to continue to grow frustrated. "I recognize this is much to ask. You also mention you have remained unharmed, yet, earlier you say you are so young." A smile began to trickle slightly across pinked lips.
"You go against your words each time you attempt to refuse my offer, Whisper. And yes, this is not the place to pick up broodmares. Although, during these times, stallions have to broaden their horizons, so to speak." He thinks for a moment, pausing. Is she worth the hassle she seems to put up? He frowns slightly, eyes deadlocked upon her. With times so tough, one cannot be picky.
"You may or may not have realized it, depending on how easily you pick up on personalities of another, I do not take no for an answer." Ahriman's tone growing steadily heavier, he considered covering her right now, but then again, that was a last choice resort. He wasn't to go there yet.
"Before my temper decides to reveal itself and the rain grows heavier, I suggest we depart." He nodded, although, it would remain unknown from anyone other than himself. He kept forgetting that she was blind.
"I do not like rain." The stallion simply stated before stepping closer to the mare. "I also do not wish to harm you, that is among my last thoughts."

a4a4ff SPEECH Whisper blew out a breath, trying to calm the nerves that were beginning to rise up in the pit of her stomach. Her ears twitched even more frequently now, her nostrils quivering as a wave of distress swept through her as she listened to the stallion speak, becoming frightened. She had thought that he would be decent or gentlemanly enough to let her go - but she definitely had assumed wrong. She thought that a place like Cascata would only attract good characters - isn't Scure a place more of his type? She began to tremble slightly, the idea running through her mind that she was going to be taken home by this stallion whether she liked it or not, and forced to bear children for the rest of her days. She took another step back, her head jerking up slightly in alarm. "Find someone else," she pleaded, I'm sure you can find someone ten times better than I am.." Her very long tail lashed back and forth with agitation and nervousness, her brow furrowed with worry as she kept her eyes trained on toward the stallion.
