the writing on the grave | Braveheart
passed down by the ancestors | Appaloosa. I descend from the Nez Pierce lines.
my DNA says | Stallion.
on this Earth for | 4 years.
stand up and scream | 16.0 hh.
this worn canvas Black and brown spots splatter across a snowy white coat.
waving in the wind | A thick mane of yellow-white covers my mighty neck. Most hairs are tipped with a darker yellow, or light brown. Uneven and shredded from an incident that happened not long ago.
following close behind | Following after my spotted body is my tail, colored with dark browns and light reds along with a bit of white. It appears darker than my mane.
windows into the soul | My eyes are a sparkling brown, shining under the beautiful sunlight. Usually, they're filled with happiness and joy, rarely any other emotions that I might feel.
splattered across my body | My leopard-like Appaloosa spots are splattered across my body, ranging from dark grays and blacks to dark browns and reds.
to win this war Light, thank you.
the past is far behind | Braveheart arrived on this island just a few months ago. He's still learning the in's and out's of the place. But his past has certainly shaped him into the noble stallion he is today. Before he arrived on the island, he was owned by several owners during his short life before. From rags, to riches, he's lived many lives in such a short time. He was born by accident into a barn of a poor farmer. His father got loose from a fancy equestrian center down the road and bred with his mother. The farmer couldn't afford him, he didn't care at all for him. Malnourished and scrawny, he wasn't much. He didn't even have a name. Thankfully, he was sold at 6 months.
A snobby man with tons of money bought him. Even if the man was arrogant and stubborn, he saw the potential in this young colt. His dad was a famous appaloosa stud, considered one of the best and his mother had great bloodlines and was in a reasonable condition. The man kept him for one year before he fell ill. Braveheart was happy to go, the rich man was cruel and merciless in his handling techniques. And so Braveheart continued onward with his journey.
This sweet little girl with a warming family bought him. The girl taught him everything and loved him very much so. She even graced him with his name, Braveheart. Even for a young girl, she saw the things most people wouldn't see, she saw the strong heart in this sweet, caring stallion. Braveheart loved this girl, he was very protective of her and loyal to her only. He had saved her life several times, he was always rewarded with love. But, then, the girl died in a horrific car accident. Braveheart was ripped to shreds, he no longer felt whole without her. Even though it all, he held himself together with the strength that the girl had given him. But the parents of the girl couldn't take care of him, they didn't know much about caring for horses. So he was sold again, but this time overseas.
He was being sent to Rome, Italy to yet another rich family. Strength still flickered in his heart like a warm flame. He was being sent by plane, it wasn't exactly his cup of tea, but he knew that there was nothing he could do to stop it, he just had to go on with it. As the plane was going over the Mediterranean Sea, the plane began to malfunction. It was going to crash land into the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean. Braveheart had no idea was was happening as he fell when the plane began to dip towards the wavy water. Then flames took over the part of the plane he was in, salt water began to seep in and the steel walls began to rip apart. Through all of the chaos, somehow, Braveheart made it out alive. He was the only one. He swam to the island and found other horses. And this is where he currently resides.
