She followed the ebony brute in silence back to his land. Atleast he had given her choice to leave if she ever felt the need to. He was quite nice and caring, but that is how Lua seemed when she first met the handsome stag. Lua had loved her her whole life until the day she brought his son home, the heir of the herd and land. She couldn't bear to even think about it. She swore to herself that she would forget that old life and not tell anybody about it. Well she was doing a real good job about hiding it now, asking the kind stallion if she could leave if the occasion arose. She shook her head and looked to the Friesian next to her.
"Your land is lovely from what I've seen so far." They had just entered his land from the path to Belle Valle. She did have a few questions about the land. "Kijken I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking. Are there any other herd members? and What are the rules to this fine land?" She looked to him awaiting an answer.

as he walked back into his homelands, he couldn't stop a smile from forming upon his muzzle. it was nice to look into the canyon and see others, grazing and dozing and enjoying life in their home. the way a herd should be. true, there were still not as many here as there would be in any normal sized herd, but it was growing. and that was all he could ask. he turned his attention then back to batalla, leaving the smile on his mug and in his eyes as he listened to her speak. he heard her questions, and had to think for a minute. rules. hmm. to be completely honest, he hadn't thought of making a rule system before. he sighed loudly. he supposed it needed to be done nevertheless. he turned to her again, parting kissers to speak. i'm glad you like it so far, love. i too am quite fond of it. yes, there are others who dwell here, another fae named jupiter, as well as a few equines i have yet to meet myself. their scent was not strong when i arrived here to claim this place, and i have seen nothing of them since. he paused, thinking. and i suppose i should be able to tell you all about the rules system we have here, but the truth is i have yet to come up with one. i suppose i'll put it on my to do list. he said, locking her gaze and smiling one of his rare smiles at her. lovely was quite the understatement, he thought to himself as he stopped near the stream. he let his orbs feast on her for a moment longer before taking a few steps into the refreshingly icy water and dropping his dial to drink.

Batalla listened quite intently as he spoke, she wanted to get to know the land, her herd mates and her leader as best as she could. So there was a vix here by the name of Jupiter. Atleast him having one other mare made her feel safer. She would go and meet this mare some other time. As for her question about the rules, his reply was that he had to come up with some still. He then smiled at her and walked to the stream. He looked at her for a moment longer and then he stepped into the cool water and dipped his black muzzle into the refreshing water. "If you need any help establishing rules, I would be glad to help you. I was lead mare in my old herd." The last part was cut short. She just revealed some of her past, which she swore to herself not to do. She looked to him for a moment with her light amber orbs to see what he would do.

he drank greedily from the refreshing waters, flickering his flutes to catch her words, his eyes closed in pleasure as he filled his belly. he saw nothing too significant about her last phrase - she had been lead mare in her old terra. that would certainly be useful him helping him to figure out the early days as King, but he took it as nothing more. When he looked up, however, he saw that she seemed to be stunned, and at first he couldn't quite figure out why. He hoped irrationally that he hadn't done something to suddenly anger her. His eyes took her in for a bit, assessing her posture, the look in her eyes, the way her pelt shook ever so slightly. And then he knew - decided, rather, for he was still a bit unsure - that it was only herself that she was upset with. Upset for telling him too much. This new awareness stung him a bit, actually, for he took it to mean that she did not trust him. If she wasn't ready to tell him all about her past, that was fine. He had yet to tell anyone about his, either. But at the very least he wanted her to trust him.
He took a few tentative steps forward, out of the water, up the bank, and crossed the short distance to where she stood, waiting to judge his reaction. As he pulled up alongside her, he let his muzzle slowly make contact with hers, breathing deeply. He lipped at her skin softly, raising his dial, lipping then at her forelock, nuzzleing her soft facade. Lowering his dial, he looked deeply into her eys, telling her without words that she needed to speak no more for the moment. He was content in simply being near her, and hoped she wouldn't reject his closeness.

She watched him as he seemed to be asessing her actions. She soon realized that she was shaking a bit and she was also a bit stiff. She sighed and relaxed a bit. She watched him closely as he took a few steps to her. She watched him intently waiting to see what his next move would be. I won't make this same mistake again. Should I even trust him? I don't want something like that to happen all over agian. Well he hasn't said anything about rules yet, so I will know when he comes up with some, I hope there is not a code about the colouring. If he could read her mind right now he would think what the hell is she talking about. Good thing he couldn't. She jumped a bit as he came to her side. She didn't freeze and she didn't move away. Was this good? Maybe. His muzzle then touched hers. She flinched a bit. Her orbs became slightly wider. He then lipped at her velvet maw and took her dark sand forelock into his ebony kissers. He then looked at her as if to say 'Don't speak' She didn't dare say a thing. She soon grew relaxed with him near her. She soon closed her orbs and sighed.
"What was your old home like?" She asked, optics still shut contently. If he could answer her this, she jsut might tell him about her own past. She cracked an optic open to see his reaction.

he exhaled loudly, feeling her relax under his touch and close her orbs in contentment. he couldn't help but be quite pleased at this, for it meant that she was actually beginning to trust him. he coudlnt' run a herd correctly if each of the members within it was constantly hiding from him. his eyes closed then too, still keeping his muzzle in contact with hers, ashe relaxed as well. when she spoke, he did not move, almost as if he were expecting it. he listened to her speak, and threw the question around in his mind a bit, as if deciding how to answer. he sighed again then, not because he was preparing to lie to her or evade the question entirely, but because he knew that the answer he was about to give - the absolute truth - was going to sound like an outright lie.
i don't remember he replied, dropping his dial a few inches, his voice low. i am originally from bosnia - that much i know. but the few months of wandering i did before i came here are all i remember. he paused, trying to think of how to best explain. i know i was in a fight - the memory is foggy, but still slightly in tact. a huge stallion, and a dark. i don't recall what the fight was over, but it was most certainly to be a fight to the death. he now paced as he spoke, back and forth, trying to make the memories come more quickly, along with the words to put them to. i was winning, i believe, but there was something.. something that threw me off suddenly. something was wrong. and then he knocked me to the ground, and i bashed my skull against a boulder, and thats when the lights went out. he paused, shuddering a bit, and turning it into a full body shake before continuing. i assume the other brute thought i was dead after a bit, so he left me there. and when i woke up, it was all i remembered. nothing of home, or friends, or family, or.. love.. his voice trailed off as he stared at the earth below for a moment, silent. suddenly he looked up, his eyes betraying him more vulnerability than he probably would have liked. i've never told anyone that before. he said in a half-whisper.

He waited a moment before speaking. She listened intently as he spoke of his past. He spoke of the land he was from, Bosnia, and about some rather large brute that he had to fight with. He then moved away from her and began to pace, as if trying to find the memories. He was a victim of amnesia. She wondered what could have thrown him off balance to begin with. She did not know. She let him end his story before speaking. "It must be hard, not remembering anything at all about your past life." She paused then looking off to the sky as a sparrow flew by her head. I wish that happened to me, then I would forget it all. She sighed and swished her wet sand coloured banver at a few flies. She would wait for him to ask her about her past. The past she was forced to remember and mull upon every moment of her life, it was pathetic.
