Ciel sat there in silence, reading over a paper at his desk, carefully looking at it, to ensure he didn't over look anything. It wasn't anything new or of a great importance. Just something that so happen to find it's way to his desk yesterday. The youth in appearance was of nothing more a child, a thirteen year old boy, but truly held the mind of someone almost triple his age. After he read to small letter, he pushed it off to the side of his desk with a sigh. Something gave him a feeling, just a gut feeling, that this was about to be one of the longest days so far. Ciel looked up from his desk around the empty room as he felt slightly hungry, a youthful carving for something sweet. He didn't see his butler anywhere near, but still some how he knew the demon would be around. "Sebastian."
[/b] he said, in almost yelling tone, standing up from his chair. He didn't care that the butler might be doing something at the moment. It could wait for later. Ciel was more concerned for himself at the moment to care what disarray the house maybe in with his other servants running a muck. He was quiet aware that they were more hassle than the worth, but at least they try a semi-normal lifestyle while actually being there for other purposes. It did not matter the distance between them. Sebastian always heard his master when he was called for. Luckily today Sebastian was just down the hall trying to clean up one of Mey-Rin's disasters. He had once again trusted her with a task that was too much for her to handle. Well, she actually seemed to be doing a pretty good job of everything until Sebastian walked in the room. That was when she became flustered and everything fell apart. Sebastian was just glad that Ciel did not treat his other servants harshly. Try as they might, nothing ever got accomplished. The only one who seemed to do anything around this place was Sebastian himself. And Tanka, but that was not very often.
Sighing, Sebastian walked out of the room and headed to Ciel's study. From the boy's tone of voice, he could tell that Ciel was wanting something. Most likely he was going to ask for something sweet again. For as bitter of a boy as he was, the young Earl certainly had an extreme craving for the sweet things to an almost unhealthy extent.
"You called?" Sebastian asked as he entered the study. A rather annoyed looking Ciel was standing at his desk, hands firmly on the desk top, and his eyes narrowed. It was amazing how many times a day Ciel adopted this very position. He was always wanting something. At least he caught Sebastian at a convenient time this round. The demon swore his master waited until the worst moments to call for him.
Then again it was all part of a silly, unspoken game they played. Sebastian liked toying with the Earl and Ciel was bothered by this. It was a constant power play between the two. One would make and move and then the other. It was something that had started a few months after they made their contract and had only progressed until now. Before it was something that the boy did not realize, but Sebastian was now sure he was fully aware of it. Any chance he got, Sebastian would get the boy flustered and successfully come out with the upper hand. In defense Ciel would try to make life miserable for the demon. One move after the other. Sometimes the strategy was brilliant like a well thought out chess move. Other times it was quickly executed and would backfire on either one of them. Either way, each move was a crucial part of of this childish undertaking.

Ciel stood as he waited for the demon come to his calling. He stood firmly over is desk, staring down at the small amount of paperwork he had finished for the day, all mainly for the Funtomhive Toy Company. Ciel had the job of maintaining the factory, ensuring that only the best happened to the place. It was a nice asset to have, actually, as much of an inconvenience it can be, along with being what people called the Queen's 'Guard Dog' and having connection with the underground criminal world, the boy had the world at his finger tips pretty much. Only the home front was a bit more orthodox to deal with. Ciel knew that the other servants that stayed here were completely helpless and could never actually do anything quite right and Sebastian had to always save them from disgracing the Phantomhive name. The only good one around was Tanka, even in his moments, but he was really nothing more than a driver for the boy, but non the less, the boy couldn't complain. The youth glanced up at the butler as he came in. Ciel soon stood in a more composed manner. "Make me something sweet, I am hungry."
[/b] The boy spoke, no emotional attachment in the words, turning from the demon to the window that over looked the grounds. He had more paperwork to do for the day, but Ciel was sure there was other things he can do for the day instead of all the paperwork at still laid across his desk, well organized. He turned back around before the demon could leave, picking up little bit of work that he had accomplished for the day. "Ensure that these get to were they need to be. That will be all for now."[/b] He finished, knowing that the demon butler wouldn't just simply leave on command. It was a little game the demon all too well enjoyed and Ciel was now all too well able to predict what the demon may or may not do to an extent. As a result, Ciel makes him suffer for causing him to get into a crazy and actually enjoy it. It, in all honesty, annoyed him to then end of his wits, but he ensured the demon got his own taste of what deserved, even if the butler thought if maybe a bit over done and dramatic. Sebastian raised a brow as his master asked him to make him something sweet. "Young master, you had quite the sizable lunch only am hour ago." the demon said. That meal had also included a dessert that most would die for. All Ciel ever seemed to want was some sugary concoction. Even though Sebastian was there to serve the boy's every whim, he did have to put his foot down once in awhile. He did have to see to it that his young charge had something other than sugar constantly coursing through his system. Sebastian understood that humans at this age, especially males, seemed to eat everything in sight, but his young master never craved anything that was at least semi-healthy.
The demon stepped forward and took the papers from Ciel's hands as he was told to see to it that they got to where they needed to be."As fond as you are about your work, remember that we do have some lessons to cover later on this afternoon. I promised Miss Hawthorne while she was away I would see to it that her curriculum for you would be covered and you would be prepared to be tested on it by the time she got back." If only Ciel was as interested in his studies as he was in running his family's business. He had tutors that came in to teach him several days a week. When those tutors were unavailable, Sebastian took over the lessons himself. Every time the boy had to sit there and learn what ever it was that was being lectured, he got this distant look in his eyes and seemed to let his mind wander anywhere and everywhere, except to where it should be. That was a whole different story when he was doing his work, whether it be a case he was working on for the Queen, or matters dealing with the Funtomhive Toy Company. Sometimes he got so engrossed in his work that time passed him by so quickly that he often forgot to eat or even sleep at times.
The papers that Sebastian had in his hand were quickly set down on the corner of the desk. He would pick them up on his way out. Sebastian was not the kind of servant who would do whatever it was that his master asked without sticking around. It was all part of their little game. It always had been and always would be until the very end. The demon was constantly pushing his limits with the boy just to see how far he could go. It was not like he was afraid of his master's punishment either. That punishment often included doing ridiculous tasks that would make some question the sanity of the earl who had ordered them. Most the time it consisted of a flustered Ciel who would bitterly chastise the butler and, if it was just the two of them, all sense of propriety flew out the window as the boy would throw words around like he was a drunken Irish sailor. Sebastian's personal favourite, being the glutton for punishment that he was, was when the young Earl would physically strike him.
"Lady Elizabeth might be dropping by for a visit later. She is probably going to invite you to a ball her parents are hosting this upcoming weekend." Sebastian informed Ciel as if he had just remembered this information. He had known since this morning, but he saw no reason to tell Ciel until now. It was not like the boy had any other plans for the day. The only reason for keeping it from him until now was A) he had not asked and B) it would only get him into a tizzy. As lovely as his master's fiancee was, both Ciel and Sebastian were driven mad by her. Ciel, of course, was the only to let it be known that she actually bothered him.

Ciel glared at the servant as he mention the lunch he had not too long ago, and the way he sounded was that he wasn't going to make the boy anything of the sort that in which he asked. It constantly bothered the boy that the demon refused to do one simple task of making small dessert for him as compared doing any ridiculous task that the both forced the butler into doing when the youth was angry at him. Ciel sighed, sitting back down in the chair of his desk. He waved his hand carelessly at Sebastian as he began to speak. "I don't care. I'm hungry now. Make it something light like a parfait or something if it so pleases you." The boy said in a displeased tone. He really did hate it when when the servant did try to control what the boy did eat.
Ciel was already grabbing for more paper work as Sebastian brought up his tutoring. The youth frowned at the very mention of it. He did not mind that fact of he had to be taught something of schooling like any other boy his age, but it honestly all bore him so much. He also end up sitting there, off where his mind took him to, leading the boy away from what the teachers try to put in his mind. He must say they try, but he could not focus on such tedious things when he did have so much work, which is where his mind went to the most often. It was much more pressing matters than being taught of literature and the sciences of the world. What made the worse part that he brought it up was that is was the butler that would be teaching him, and the demon absolutely hated it when the boy became unfocused. The boy could only just get through the lessons, as always, while getting time to finish his work. "Then fit it in my schedule somehow." He muttered as he went on to working, falling once more into, not even taking the care to see if the servant left him be, as he knew that was not about to happen. As it so happens, Ciel was quite aware that the butler enjoyed the game he played with the boy, which he could tell that he was beginning the game now.
As soon as the news as of which the demon just had given him, Ciel had stopped writing across the page before him, the lone blue eye shooting up at Sebastian with a glare that said everything that went through his mind that second. Ciel immediately stood up, already loosing some of his propriety of words. "Why in the hell hadn't you told me this earlier!?" The youth nearly yelled, honestly annoyed by this. Lizzy, as much as he loved her as a friend and family, did get to him from time to time, and somedays he just wished that she was to be someone else's problem. "And I don't want to hear one your poor excuses that you know annoy me!" He said, almost wishing he could strangle the servant to death, but it was kind of harder than that to try and kill the demon you had a contract with, which was probably why he hadn't charged across the room to do so, that and he'd had a feeling that the demon would only laugh at him and make the earl feel more ridiculous and wishing all the more kill him.
Ciel YAY FOR MUSE! I honestly blame you for the reason why my Ciel muse sucks ass. Your Sebastian is in all our YIM conversations. AND SHUT UP! You guys say Sebastian just the same as us. "I'll see to it that you get something." he said, giving in. Sebastian was about to offer some cheeky response to Ciel about making a food that pleased him rather than his young master, but the demon decided against it. With the mood the boy was in right now he did not want to get him even more worked up. Ciel Phantomhive was always wound pretty tight and it did not take much to get him into some sort of hissy fit. Especially when he was hungry or tired. There were other things that caused irate feelings to stir within that small body, but the root of the problem was usually hunger or lack of sleep.
It was funny how an intelligent boy did not want any lessons. By Britain's standards, Ciel could almost be considered a prodigy. He was talented in many academic aspects. He just chose not to pursue them. Though Sebastian had been around for as long as he could remember (which was a long time considering it was only Sebastian who remembered), the butler always had a fondness for the academic side of things. Perhaps that was the reason he took such a liking to playing tutor to the young earl. If only Ciel shared the same fondness for learning that Sebastian did.
"Most of your schedule for the next week is lessons with your tutors. Having to cancel lessons last week did not sit well with them. Especially your lovely, and I use that in the most endearing manner, literature tutor Miss Davenport. She seemed rather angry about you pushing your test over War and Peace back another week." Sebastian informed him. Though Adolf Hitler was not yet around, this woman would be the female equivalent to him. Even Sebastian was put off by her at times. How a simple human could manage to be so overbearing was a mystery to him.
"I'm beginning to think that I need to step in for some of them to get you back on track." They might be the best tutors around, but none of them knew how to handle Ciel like Sebastian did. "I can't imagine what you would do if you were to actually attend an academic institution." he mused. He would not be allowed to skip lessons, cancel them, and alter his schedule in any other way. The only reason Ciel Phantomhive did not have to go to school with the rest of the high class boys his age was because of the simple fact he had a business to run and did not have any father around telling him what to do.
"I had mentioned it you earlier young master. If you recall you were going on and on about some noise Finnian was causing outside before told you. Perhaps you were too distracted by that minor annoyance to pay much attention to what I was saying." Ciel always had the habit of tuning Sebastian out when he did not want to listen. Most of the time he did not miss anything important (unless they were doing school work of course), but there were times when he should have been listening more carefully.
"Miss Elizabeth will be devastated if you do not show up. I would also assume that your aunt and uncle expect you to show up for this. After all, this is one of the largest balls they hold all year." Sebastian said with a smirk. Ciel and any social event, especially ones involving any of the Middlefords, never went as expected. The boy was better at sitting back and observing rather than socializing with everyone under the sun. Sebastian did not even want to think about his master atrocious dancing skills. These things were just not Ciel Phantomhive's forte.

Ciel hated that Sebastian had always seemed to want work him up over the young earl's dietary needs as to his cravings. The butler would always tried to get the boy off whatever urge it was that had created his sweet tooth to want sugar concoctions a majority of the time over things that would better benefit the youth's health. But he was an Earl, his butler, despite his attention to keeping a decent steady diet for Ciel, should not question what the boy really wanted or though what he need. He should just easily have anything he wanted laid out before him like he was a king. But the demon was always willing and ready to fight him for giving up or at least changing his food choice.
Ciel glared back up at the hellion from his desk as he spoke of his lessons. Sebastian always seemed to hound him to leaving his lessons plans alone as they were meant to be planned. Only the earl had not care of such things with in reason. The slate-haired boy already had a secure business with the Funtom Company, in which produced toys and sweets for children to enjoy. That alone would be enough to any normal child his age with twice his smarts, if that was possible, maybe even too much to ask for someone so young. He was also business with his underground business as the Queen's guard dog. Those things often consumed days at a time, depending on the job. Lessons was the last thing on the young earl's mind. He had the makings he needed for life, to him these long hours of studying never peaked his interests. It was a constant droning of repetitive knowledge he already knew or knew that wasn't completely necessary for running a company nor had it help with the Queen and her many wishes. To him alone, he was wise enough to do what he's already doing and that is all that he needed then.
"Making sure Funtom is still in working order and that the Queen is satisfied with her desires of the criminal underworld are first and foremost importance. Those petty lessons can wait if they need to, regardless what the tutors think of it."
[/b] Ciel said with his usual tone of authority. He was almost annoyed to his wits end with the repetitive lessons constantly delivered to him. Of coursed, realized his mistake in openly sharing that thought with Sebastian, know that when the young earl would think he get away with being behind in his schooling, the hellion that was his butler would change himself into a tutor. Granted, Miss Davenport always threw a fit when plans got pushed back and would preach it in the boy's face the importance of this that he still didn't understand, but Sebastian made a terrible tutor. Not terrible that was like he should teach, no not at all. He could teach to hell and back(Probably literally too) in anything and the dumbest student in the world was bound to learn. Ciel's tutors would let him grow distant in the lesson, away from the work of handed before him, were as Sebastian the moment he noticed the slate-haired boy falling away, he'd do something to get the boy's focus back. There then afterward he'd always have to hear why it is he need to pay better attention to his school than what picked at the haunted mind of his. And here it for who knows how long afterwards till he had to threaten to order the demon silent. Even the very mention in pushing his lessons back an hour to catch up on more paper work seemed to cause Sebastian to preach again about the lessons like some parent reviewing their child's grades to find them lacking. In all else, it annoyed the earl beyond belief sometimes. Sebastian said that he had mentioned it early whilst the earl had been complaining about one of the three just about worthless servants of the house. Tanaka was not included because the man was only a driver of the Phantomhive house and never seems to fool around like the other hooligans, especial when he work. Bard, the home's chef, Maylene, the housemaid, and Finnian, the estate's gardener, always knew how to screw something up or get under the boy's skin to the point he wished that they would get glued to a corner. And there was times were he swore Sebastian got as bad as them. But Sebastian was more withstand able than other buffoons. But in this moment, stared at the butler with a look that said 'Are you stupid!?', his eyebrow twitching with irritation. "You anise idiot! You know I don't listen to a word anyone says when I am venting about one, if not all, of those half-wits out there!"[/b] Ciel fumed at the butler without a second thought. The boy let out a sigh with a low growl in it out of frustration standing over the desk once more. The social events people threw, well, it didn't matter who's it was, he always makes a fool out of himself at social events. Normally he'd avoid such things, but as Sebastian had said, it was the earl's aunt and uncle, and to top it off with a cherry, his fiance as well. If he were to avoid such a thing, it would should making him look back not only to the public, but to his family. The earl really had now choice in this matter, his hands tied behind his back. After a moment the boy pinched at his nose before straightened up with a sigh. "Sebastian, prepare something small for her visit."[/b] The boy began was he turned away from the butler with a better composer than before, approaching the window, staring out it, seeing first the reflection staring back, before the still fit yard and gardens below. "Ensure things would be to her liking. I don't want her running a muck the manor as she did last time." He said with a slight wince in remembering the manor, filled with color ribbons, cute curtains, so on and so forth. His manor to him looked like a rainbow and a magical forest threw up in that day. To Ciel, seeing hims home that condition was retched. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/color] Ciel ... 1057 WORDS, BE HAPPY! All I need - Awolnation
