[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,489,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=green]The spring air was so fresh and the birds chirped so gayly that the lead could not help but bound with a similar ecstasy through the barrens. Such a forsaken part of her territory was sparce of grass, but this year had brought a small amount of foilage, even if just weeds, to spring from the marshy turf. Perhaps the past burdens that had so severly plagued her herd were making path for a brighter future for the Rocas territory. Perhaps, just perhaps, Char could revive the herd to one as large and strong as it had been beneath her mother’s rule! Ah, wouldn’t that make Fiana proud? A smile crept its way across her velveteen kissers.
Char emerged from the swamped, but slowly-breathing-new-life barren lands onto the central structure of Rocas when the earth felt as if it was trembling beneath her hoofs. Her heart raced as the quaking grew. Instinct told her to flee the plateau and take for lower grounds.
The rumbling eventually became so fierce that she could no longer force further movement. And, then she heard it – a thunderous clash in the distance. The noise echoed about the lands even as the quaking earth began to settle.
The mare trudge through the muddy lands with trepidation of what she might find. However, the frenzied squawk of ravens spurred hastier movement. Had someone been injured in the boisterous clash that had seemed so distant? Had such a crash, in fact, been in her lands? Her heart pumped harder as every muscle strained in her mad dash across the slick terrain.
Blue orbs met with the cause of the noise after many meters into her dash. The black feathered foul circled the rocks surveying for injuries. The mountain had been what her mother had dubbed “montanas de la cascada.” It had been a common play spot for equines when her mother had been in charge. However, with recent devastation, Char did not know many equine to inhabit the turf. There was, however, a rather large subsection of the raven colony that resided there.
“Lady Char! Lady Char!” A young female raven fluttered towards the mare in frenzy.
“What- what’s wrong? Is someone hurt?”
“Yes, Lady Char! We lost several nests, and a few of ours, but there is one still alive! An equine, Lady Char. He is badly hurt!”
The mare’s heart ached as the bird spoke of a he. Zandarkand? Who else could it have been? He was the only stallion of her heard. No! No! The mare instantly raced towards the pile of rumble that lie in place of the previous mountain. Birds cleared her path as she took a frenzied search for her companion. “Zandarkand! Zan-!” Then she saw the form. To the side of the mountain was a heaped form. The rubble that covered him was small by comparison to what the damage could have been. But there was so much blood visible – so much blood!
As she made haste to the form, Char realized the stallion beneath the heap was not, in fact, her dear friend. She hated to admit it for it made her seem so foul a being, but she was relieved it was this poor brute and not Zandarkand.
Despite her relief, Char realized she had to do what she could to save the poor creature. She began clearing the rubble as ravens scattered to recruit aid from other members and check the rubble for any more injuries or fatalities.

The fae lifted her head from grazing as the words of the ravens caught her attention. What was this? They were speaking about a body being found in the land. Phantom became worried for a moment. Was Char injured, or worse? Even if it wasn't Char is was probably the young Zandarkand. Either way this was a very bad scenario.
One of the ebony avians quickly flew over to her, landing softly on her back. Angua. She recgonized the youngster. Angua was only a year old, yet she was strong in spirit and in mind. Phantom believed that she could accomplish anything she wished. Not many horses paid this close of attention to their feathered comrades, but Phantom was very close to them for some reason. She had taken a liking to them and they had taken a liking to her.
"What is going on here Angua?" Phantom asked curiously as she slightly cocked her head. What was all this talk of a body about?
"Well I've heard talk that there has been a sighting, no, finding of a body. A horse. I dunno who it is, but I think its one of the herd members. Or an old herd member at that. All I know is that Lady Char found him and that he is a he. I'm sorry I can't tell you more Phantom, but I suggest that you get going as soon as possible to see what is really going on here."
"Thank you Angua." Phantom said as the raven flew off. This was just getting strange. Char had found the body. Therefore the body must blong to Zandarkand, or what was once Zandarkand. The Arab shook her head as she broke into a gallop, eager to get to the site where the body was.
As Phantom neared the area, she realised that this was where one of the Zunden attacks had taken place. Many lives where lost here. It was a very tragic day, something that should'nt be forgotten. Phantom had losst most of her warriors in this battle. Hell, almost all of the herd was killed in this battle. Phantom and char seemed to be the lucky ones. Everyone else was now in the great beyond, where ever that may be.
Anil was lost here as well. Phantom never thought about him much anymore, he was just a ghost in her mind. Anil was a thing of the past, something that she should not dwell on. He was gone and never coming back. Even the lst little reminder of him was gone from her life. It was as if he never existed.
The ivory mare slowed her pace as she saw Char up ahead trying to clear away decaying rubble. What was this? Who was she trying to get to? All of this had occured a year ago and all the damage had stayed. Who or what ever was under there had been dead for a long time. Nevertheless, Phantom wanted to help the young mare felling it was her duty as Char's sort of mentor and adviser.
"Char? What's going on?" the mare asked, walking up next to the young mare, her chocolate optics staring at the debris intently.
