Seemed so long ago that Revenant had wandered into this same place, meeting up with a peculiar mare, and stumbling across a dying one. Now, here he was, wandering among the bowing trees, his brilliant white coat shimmering in the fading sun of the day. Ears sat alert on top of the Andalusian's head, nostrils flaring as each hoof was placed upon the soft earth. The smells of horses clung to the different trees, many tales woven among the leaves that hung toward the ground. As the Hielo made his way through the forest of willows, his attention was only on place. The small pond he had first discovered within these bending trees.
His long, beige tail swayed behind him as he walked, bi-colored eyes glancing around in search of his pond. Suddenly, the sound of flowing water came to his ears, and they twitched. Muscles ceased movement under the grand stallion's coat, as he had reached the pond's edge. His breath rose, unnaturally, before him within the summer's air. Golden-green eyes looked around the pond for a brief moment, before he entered the cool waters.
The sudden change in temperature caused him to inhale, though it wasn't the coolness of the water that caught him off guard. It was the warmness that disappeared from around him. With these hot summer months, his body felt like it was on fire. Partly because he was an elemental horse, and partly because he wasn't a summery type horse. Revenant breathed out slowly, small ice crystals forming in the air before him, before they melted all too quickly.

Pounding rushed to her ears, the pounding of her quickened heart beat, the pounding of her thundering hooves. Zaire galloped through the big green forest, stretching her legs long and far to propel herself forward. Not knowing what she was running for, the mare continued at amazing speed, muscles pulsing under her shimmering bay coat. Something deep in her mind told her to flee, so that what she did, even if she didn't know what from.
Finally, she reached a massive willow tree with it's sad leaves dripping down low to gently touch her hot body. Nostrils flaring, Zaire paused to take a breath and gather her confused thoughts. Suddenly, she noticed where she was. Near the place where her love died, she felt like fleeing once again but she told herself not to. It's time to face your fears, the words echoed in her mind, bouncing off the walls inside her clouded skull. Pushing herself forward, the Arabian took a deep breath and headed for the sound of rushing water. The summer days were beginning to wear her down, she needed to cool off.
With her head hanging low, clouded in thoughts, she made it to the shoreline of a beautiful pond. Ever so gently, she placed a dark hoof into the shimmering water, followed by another hoof. Slowly, the water began to overtake her and hug her streaming hot body. Enjoyment filled her eyes, but yet a cloud of guilt and regret covered over it. She began swim around in little circles, trying to feel happy. That's when she noticed the white figure ahead of her. She froze and gasped, she thought she was alone in this peaceful, serene moment. She couldn't move, she could hardly reach the dirt floor of the pond, only her head stuck up out of the water. She tried to push herself back, trying to remain unnoticed, she made it a few steps before she could move no futher. Her whole neck and head stuck out of the water like a mighty brown sail that was frozen in place.

Turning his head cautiously, he noticed the Arabian enter the waters of the pond. Brilliant eyes stayed curious, and as the mare hardly noticed his presence, he turned his body, barely making a ripple as he moved. As the mare noticed the Andalusian in the water, Revenant's ears twitched atop his head. Excuse me, the young stallion tilted his head slightly at the Arabian, wisps of tail floating on top of the water. His breath came in short puffs in the warm air, as eyes stared at this newcomer.
There is no need to back away. I'm not going to hurt you, the Andalusian's words were gentle, as he spoke to the mare. The warm air around him caused his skin to twitch uncomfortably. It was growing unbearably hot, and the stallion didn't even feel cool anymore within the usually cold pond waters. Flicking his tail, sending droplets of water upon his pale coat, he sighed as the coolness seemed to cool him off.

The hot summer's air closed around Zaire's body, making her feel tapped. Trapped. The bay mare always felt trapped, as if her soul didn't belong with her body. Her heart was screaming to be let out, she didn't feel comfortable in her own skin. In the past, when her love was around. He had always made her feel safe and free, but after he had died the iron bars around her heart went back up. A tingling feeling erupted throughout her body, her skin felt as if a thousand spiders where crawling all over it. But then, the gentle words of the gorgeous white stallion whispered lightly in the wind. The twitching stop, the fear edged away, she felt safer, not caged and trapped. She let out a heavy sigh, her body relaxed for the first time in many months.
Taking a few steps forward, her eyes sparkled as the sunlight stretched past the thick canopy of leave above and made her coat glisten. She felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders, but she had no idea why she felt this way. Maybe it was the gentleness of the stallions voice. Hello there. I'm Zaire. Her voice came out in a steady, gentle tone that was barely more than a whisper. He probably couldn't even hear it. Am I intruding? Zaire said, this time she put more power behind her words, holding her head high and trying to show that she just was a scared little mare, even if she was.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,392,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#000000]Despite how quiet her words were upon the still, harsh air, Revenant had heard them. Ears twitched on top of his head, as he took a few cautious steps through the waters, the ripples from his movements disturbing the once calm surface. Gentle eyes watched the Arabian closely, instantly deciding that this horse wasn't going to do anything that would harm him. Besides, he was a stallion, and an Elemental at that, and could hold his own. Flaring his nostrils, the stallion dipped his head in greeting to the beautiful mare. Hello there, Miss Zaire. I am Revenant, the stallion let a small smile tug at the corners of his mouth. Bringing his head up from his bow, the stallion looked at Zaire once more.
Oh, no. You weren't interrupting anything! I was just wading in the pond, it's so unusually warm out, and I can't stand this heat much longer, the stallion's small smile washed over his lips, a clear, gentle smile now apparent. Strands of the stallion's tail swayed over the surface of the water, as he stayed his distance from the foreign equine, giving her her space. Revenant knew all too well how mares were with their personal space, their "bubble" of sorts. Nostrils quivered again, taking in the scent of the mare before him.
She sure was a looker. Much prettier than any mare he had come across in his life, which, in reality, weren't that many. Perhaps some back where he lived with his mother and father, but there were only two mares he had come across while he had lived his few months on Isola. Blinking his gentle eyes, his mind drifted from the thoughts of pretty mares, back to Zaire. How long have you been on this island, Miss Zaire? All the mannerisms that his mother had pushed him to use clearly showed, and he could feel his skin heat up under his coat.
He didn't mean to sound so formal, but he didn't know how else to act around such a pretty little creature. The Andalusian glanced up to the canopy of leaves above, his ears tilting back slightly. He wanted to kick himself, for being so foolish. He had acted this way when he had met Aithne. Mind paused, as he thought about the Zunden mare, and he breathed in deeply. Another shake of his head, and eyes went back to Zaire, ears tilted toward her for her pleasant voice to fill the still air around them.
