Smeared across such a canvas, Her coat is a mixture of bays, from the lightest to the darkest, with white splotches here and there. Ephixa's most unique feature is the white face she sports.
Rapunzel, let down your long hair, Her mane is a mixture of dark gray and black.
Let it swish, Quite the same as her mane, although the gray is much darker, if that is even possible.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, Unlike most horses, Ephixa's eyes are two different colors. Her right one is a brilliant green color, with gold near the iris, and her left is a sea blue, green in a line under the iris.
They do make me different, On all four of her legs she has white socks, even though she is a paint.
Can only take pictures of those you can catch, Look at the table above, sillies.
It takes two to create a war, but only one to finish it, Ephixa has been known to be a bit light, and a bit dark, though she keeps telling herself she's more neutral than anything.
It's all better left forgotten, Like most of the horses who came upon the island of Isola, Ephixa lived somewhere else. More specifically, she lived on the plains of the United States, running free and wild with her father's herd. She had been born and raised on those lands. She was to grow up and run her father's herd when she was older. But the humans nearby had another idea. After capturing most of her father's mares and foals, it brought the herd's number down to only five. Her father was determined to keep the three remaining mares, as well as Ephixa, away from the humans, so they moved their territory borders.
That was one of the worst decisions in Exphixa's father's reign. As the remnants of the herd moved through the plains, the mares were picked off by rival stallions, Ephixa's father not having the heart to fight. In the end, the only ones who remained where Ephixa and the old stallion who had watched over her for her young life. As she neared her second birthday, a cougar had ambushed the two. During the struggle, the young mare was knocked out, her head hitting a rock nearby as she fell. Before she went unconscious, the last thing she saw was her father falling from the cliff side, the cougar on his back.
When the young mare woke, it was dark and she was alone. She could still smell the blood from the battle with the wild cat, but she couldn't find her father. Giving up hope of ever finding him, she left the cliffs, heading back toward where her father's herd had resided. After days of stumbling blindly over rock and through tall grass, she finally reached where she was born, only to find humans had settled there. Fields were fenced it, horses and cattle caged within them. Confusion settled in, and she wondered what she was going to do now.
Residing outside of this human settlement, the humans began to go interested in the painted mare. It wasn't long before they set snares for her, trying to catch her. She managed to evade all of them for the most part. If she got trapped, she would find a way to get out before the humans found her. Unfortunately, one of the humans got very clever and Ephixa was trapped for good, or at least until the humans found her in the morning.
When the humans found her that morning, she had both front legs bound, and a rope securely around her neck. The humans dragged her away, to their little spring up settlement. She was put in a little corral, with a dirt floor, where she did nothing but run in circles, trying to escape. She learned from the animals there that some of the horses in the larger pasture were from her father's herd, others were brought there from elsewhere.
Exphixa spent a year within this little settlement she was forced to call home, taken away from the wild, broken down and ridden by the filthy two legged creatures. It wasn't long before order came for the small town to pack up, horses and livestock included. The young mare was shipped across the country, to the Eastern coast, where she was loaded onto a large boat, and shipped across the Atlantic. She was with many other horses, and a few cattle, and the conditions were slighty poor. As they neared the island of Isola, like most ships, they hit rough waters, and the ship started to break apart.
Almost certain she was going to die, as she was tied to a board, she started to sink toward the bottom, water sloshing around her legs. Luckily, a young boy, who was a servant upon the ship, came down into the cargo hold, and freed each animal, ushering them to the higher deck. Most of the crew had abandoned ship already, the small lifeboat disappearing into the distance. The young boy pushed the painted mare off the boat's edge, in the direction of the faded island of Isola. Ephixa watched as the boy disappeared beneath the waves with the ship, along with many of the other animals. The young equine swam her way to the island, collapsing onto the beach.
After hours of sleeping, the paint woke to a brilliant, star-filled sky, the moon shining brightly down on the beach. Ephixa decided then to explore her new home, and disappeared into the trees nearby.
I'm not sayin' I'll be your wife, Having to survive on your own, you develop the mentality that everything is either your fault, or the world is out to get you. Luckily, living on her own hasn't driven Ephixa that insane, at least not yet. She is a very down to earth mare, taking each thing in stride, trying not to let everything bad ruin her day. The painted mare can be withdrawn into herself, prone to periods of depression, due to the sudden loss of her family back west. During these depression stages, it is best to leave her along, because she can snap suddenly, anger flaring within the usually calm horse almost instantly. And once Ephixa is upset, she will rage for hours until it's completely out of her system.
If she's not going off on someone, she is a gentle and caring creature, remembering the manners her father taught her when he was still alive. She can be very friendly to horses she has just met, unless she gets the vibe that you're someone she can't trust. Now, this calm side of her is only part of her. The other side is a dark one, more set on self satisfaction, and self preservation. Completely hell-bent on getting her way, and pleasing herself. In these dark moods, if you're not there to fuck her, then I suggest you run while you can. Ephixa has grown into a dominatrix, and if you want to try to change her mind on that, good luck getting away with your life. You will do what she says, when she says it, and you don't have a say in the matter.
The darker side of Ephixa is a very rare sight, as she hates how she needs a stallion to please her during that time. If she was able to, she would rip that part of her out, and just be the gentle creature she normally is, who cares about loved ones and protects them with her life.
