((Derp, my knowledge of the terrain of this place is not very good, can someone plese tell me if I'm describing something that's not possible or something? XD))
The sky was completely gray, but there was no rain in the air yet. Perhaps tomorrow rain would come, it would be a nice chance from the many dry days recently. Jaques gazed at the sky again, it was a completely still gray mass, and it annoyed him endlessly how it had stayed in this 'middle' between spring and winter. The halfly melted snow was on the ground, it had gotten very slush-like and frozen, it would not melt fully unless it either rained or it warmed up finally. At least the biting winds and the mean sea were gone for now.
How long would it be before he moved on again? The landscape around him did not particularily please him, form where he stood he could only see one route of escape, and that was by the furious sea from which he had come. Looking around he wondered wether or not trotting further into this trap-like landscape would trigger a response from the fools that lived there.
((crap post is crap >: ))

The young mare had been happily grazing on the fresh, spring grass. She was so glad that winter was finally over. She had spent most of her winter playing with her niece and bothering her older brothers. Even though she was a young mare, there was still a lot of filly left in that brindled body of hers. The spring signaled a new start for everything, including the horses on the island. Perhaps the Zunden would stand down this year. That, of course, was a wish that everyone knew was never going to be granted. Spring also indicated new horses coming to Liberta. Cosette's father Lassan often brought new horses home during the warm months. Cosette just loved meeting them. She had made many friends over her short four years that way.
The mare looked up to the sky as a raven flapped across, calling out to her that there was a visitor in the lands. The mare's brown eyes lit up at this news. She whinnied a thank you to the raven and trotted off, eager to meet this new equine. It did not take her long to scent him. A small smile appeared on her face. Hopefully he was nice, but then again when had her father ever brought home a horse who wasn't decent? Never.
Cosette slowed her gait as she saw him in the distance. He must have followed her father here, seeing as he walked around as if he were trying to become acquainted with the new land. "Hello." she called out as she walked up to him, halting a few strides away, a respectable distance for just meeting someone.

The sound of a raven screeching turned his attentiuon to the sky, where the black bird was circeling. Jaques didn't have much against the raven as a species, he often found scavengers to be 'better' according to his morals than straight predator. He was surprised to hear a horse's whinny responding to the raven's screech. It sounded quite far away, he looked around to see if he could spot the stranger, but he or she was no where on the horizon.
Turning his head to the skies again, he did not see or pay attention to the stranger, who was now coming closer. He was rather starled when the stranger called out to him, but as always his surprise did not show on the outside, and he calmly turned to face the stranger. He waited until the stranger had stopped. He noted how she kept at a respectable distance from him, it made him laugh a bit to see this display of apparent civility in a wilderness such as this. He greeted her with a slight nod of the head " 'morrow gentle fool, it is a dreadful weather today, don't you think?"

The mare's brow furrowed as the newcomer spoke. He had an interesting way of speaking. She figured him to be from a far off land, as many of her herd mates were. Cosette had grown up in a very eclectic culture of equines, so it was safe to say she had been around many types of horses who spoke in many different manners, but this horse seemed to be unique. Cosette liked unique, it only heightened her curiosity.
The stallion then asked about the weather. Cosette's eyes flicked up to the grey sky and then back to the stallion in front of her. "Honestly, I did not notice until now." she told him. Her words were the truth, she had been too engrossed in her daily activities to notice the dark sky. Perhaps she should get her head out of the clouds and pay attention to things that mattered. "Welcome to Terra Dell Liberta." she said with a small bow. "I am Cosette, Lassan's daughter." she introduced herself to him.

((Not even sure if I should resume here))
Jaques gave a small huff of dissapointment as the mare spoke about the weather. How could one not notice the weather? It was such an essential thing, life would not exist if weathers and seasons did not. He tipped his ears a couple of times, perhaps he was being rude to this mare, who undoubtly belonged in this place. He tilted his head to the side, as she presented herself as the daughter of the stallion he had met. Either it was an odd coincidence, or Lassan had expected him and found out his location by way of avian-communication, whcih would cetainly be an interesting thing to learn for himself.
He stood like this for a moment, musing over the possibilities of equine-to-avian communication, and how it would be able to be used to his advantage. Tilting his head to the other side, he snapped back into the moment, though not the least bit embarassed at not paying attention. "Quite interesting, I happen to have met your father a while ago, odd fellow he was indeed. Though not much of a fool, which I would guess speaks to his advantage." Jaques shook himself before introducing himself to Cosette in his usual manner "I assume that you would like to know who I am. My name is Jaques, hopefully my assumptions are not unfounded"
((ach, I am so sorry))

The brindled fae detected the small huff that that stallion let out in response to her comment about the weather. To Cosette it almost sounded like he was disappointed. Was it something she said? This certainly was an interesting horse. Her herd needed more interesting horses like him. Sure her father always picked horses to join the herd who were loyal, friendly, and could function well in society, but most of them were not very interesting. They all had their own oddities and set of problems, but nothing major. The most interesting horse in Liberta currently was Jack, her half sister Shadow's friend.
Cosette could not help but to giggle a bit at the stallion's words. "My father? Odd? That is the first time I've ever heard that. I always thought of him as being kind of normal and, dare I say, boring." the mare stated with a small laugh. Interesting fellow indeed. What horse thought Lassan was odd? As far as she was concerned her father was the definition of normal. This horse had to come from a very interesting place if her father seemed odd to him.
"Well it is truly a pleasure to meet you Jacques." she said with a small tip of her head. "Tell me, where do you come from?" Cosette asked the new herd member. She hoped to find out about this interesting stallion's history, a bit of something to tell her more about him, who he was, and why he thought the way he did.
