Jigsaw said nothing in response to what she told him. He figured as much. This just proved to him now that almost all Dark herds worked the same way. Stallions were always the only ones who held important posistions. Yes htere were lead mares and beta mares, but that title was just to say 'you can't have me, this horse is my one and only mate'. Of course the alpha or beta stallion could breed with who ever his heart desired, but his claimed mate could only have him. That was the way it should be.
When Jigsaw had learned that mares headed their own herds and were the lead warriors of a land, he was shocked. Why would they do such a thing? Those other stallions needed to get a handle on it before it got out of control and mares ruled all the lands. This was not a time of matriarchal socities, nor should it ever become one. Stallions should always have control, that was how the world had worked for hundreds of years and now these pathetic females thought that they were just as good as the males. Boy, did they have the wrong idea.
"Y'should give it a try. Y'migh' even find tha' y'like it enough tha' you'll jus' keep doin' it fer most o' yer life. tha's what 'appened with me." he told her. Come to think of it most of the wandering mares he had come across were not like Vodka. They were usually lights or neutrals, and weak ones at that. They let stallions push them around and take control of them. That was why he was always bringing back mares to his herd. All the mares he collected called themseleves 'wanderers' yet they could not take care of themselves. Sure they were good at some thing, but when it came to protecting themselves from stallions like Jigsaw, they failed in every aspect. They would try to seem brave at first, but after a bit of prodding, Jigsaw could figure out how to get under their skin and pur fear into their little bodies. Vodka looked like she could hold her own out there. That was something that should be admired. Plus, she would have more fun that way.
All of the sudden a huge gust of wind tore through the land. Jigsaw shut his eyes as small debris came flying past him and sticking to his coat. As he cracked an eye open he felt a cold, fat drop of rain land on his nose. A coulpe more followed the same pattern before a down pour began. Jigsaw frowned and flattened his ears. "Damn rain!" he cursed up toward the sky.
The stallion looked back to his conversational companion as she said he should be getting home. "Eh, don't see no point in it now." he said with a slight shrug. "I guess I'll go find me some cover in the woods there." He motioned his head toward a thick grove of pine trees. With that said he began to stride over to the said trees.
The stallion halted in his tracks and turned his large head around. His oprics rested on the mare as his mouth opened. "Don't y'think y'should be gettin' 'ome Vodka? Somethin' tells me tha' this storm could get pret'y nasty."

she couldn't understand why mares were frowned upon as leaders. certain mares, like herself, would make good leaders, but other weaker mares should never be allowed to lead. even weak stallion should not be allowed to lead. it probably was better that stallions led. most were strong and able to lead.
wandering was starting to sound better and better by the minute. certainly you would bump into other equines and it wouldn't be that lonely. she was capable of protecting herself, she didn't need to worry about that. there was plenty of food, water, and shelter to be found in isola. as long as she could find them she'd be okay. maybe one day she'd settle down like jigsaw had, well, to a point. and maybe even later she'd find a mate. someone who loved her, and only her. one that wouldn't roam around continue to spread their genes. she didn't think it was too much to ask.
vodka felt a cold drop of rain hit, then another, and another. a few moments later there was a downpour. she heard jigsaw curse the rain. she flicked her tail and nodded in agreement. she shivered slightly as the cold rain began to drench her coat. her eyes darted around looking for some cover. she wanted to go home, but why? she'd already talked herself out of it. she was a wanderer now, right? right. no more home. no more herd members, no more lead to boss her around. she was free, why didn't it feel so good?
she watched jigsaw head towards the cover as he said he would and she immediately followed. ' i don't have a home. ' she reminded him. ' i think i'm gonna try this 'wandering' thing for a while. ' she said with a smile. she darted under the cover with jigsaw, waiting for the rain to subside. then what was she gonna do? she hadn't told her family she was gone for good? should she go back and do so? maybe it was better to not tell them at all.
she listened to the rain as she though. ' pretty nasty, eh? ' she said. she shivered once again, more about her uncertain future than the rain, although she was a bit chilly. ' i hope this doesn't last long. ' she said as she looked toward the dark cloudy sky. she looked over at jigsaw. she never thought she'd meet anyone who she'd become friends with instantly. they just clicked.

The stallion raised his brow and looked over his shoulder as he saw Vodka following him. Wasn't this where they were supposed to part ways? Of course he remembered that she 'did not have a home' as she put it, but this is when they were supposed to turn their backs on each other and only hope that they would never see on another for quite some time. This mare obvioulsy did not know how wanderers worked.
"I think you'll like it. At times it can get a bit borin', but it's all worth it in the end. Y'can meet so many interestin' 'orses along the way. You'll be surprised at some o' 'em. 'orses are not always what they seem, remember tha'. Believe me when I tell ya that it'll come in very 'andy in the near future. An' always be prepared. Any kind o' situation can pop up at any moment. Things from bad weather like this t'orses who've li'erally gone mad an' think tha' you're there t'urt 'em." Jigsaw offered some tips on wandering. He also left out the part about terrorizing those weaker than yourself, not know whether or not this mare liked to do that sort of thing. He figured that things like that were left to stallions.
Jigsaw squinted and tried to make out the clearning they had just passed through the rain and light fog. He had no such luck. The rain was pouring down so hard that he could not see several meters in front of his face. The soft fog that settled in was not helping the visibility at any rate. "Yeah. S'pret'y bad." he agreed with a frown. "Somethin' tells me we'll 'ave lotsa storm like this, or even worse, in the next few weeks." he confessed grimly. The weather on this island seemed to come in cycles. The worst bouts of it seemed to come every three years or so. Judging from his time here on Isola Dei Dei, Jigsaw knew that the new cycle would start soon.
Vodka then voiced her concern about the storm lasting for some time. "Well, I think it'll be dark an' stormy for a few 'ours, but this pourin' rain ain't gonna last much longer. Stuff comin' down this 'ard never seems t'stay for more than fifteen minutes or so." With that said Jigsaw fell silent, not know what else to say. In fact, he was fine with the silence. His audits twitched as he listened to the hard pitter-patter of the rain hitting the forest floor and the canopy up above. If Vodka wanted to say anymore, she would do so. If not, then she would just relax and listen to the rain.

vodka sighed as she shifted her weight to her left side. she looked over at jigsaw, then back to the ground. the rain was still falling, hard. she still didn't miss felwood though. this would be like a new start for her. she needed that. she needed to get away from all the drama there. a little drama was good, but too much could drive a person insane. the rain felt like it was washing everything clean. she felt so empty inside, yet so refreshed. she knew everything would be alright. she was tough, she'd manage out there.
she would have been fine with the silence, but she was just dying to ask. ' jigsaw? ' she paused. ' how did you find the herd your in now.. ' she paused once more. ' and what made you want to join? ' maybe his words could help her decide on a herd in the future. she was young, she had plenty of time to do as she pleased. she was just curious. she wondered how much older he was than she. it didn't seem too important at the moment.
she shook herself trying to shed some of the unwanted water. oh how she hated rain storms. the rain was starting to slow, and grey clouds were starting to lighten. but it was getting dark, so it didn't make things any lighter. would jigsaw go home at night? or wait till the morning when it was light. she didn't care either way, it wasn't her descion.
ooc: fail post, i've got to get off now xD

The masked stallion kept his eyes trained on the falling rain. Who knew such a simple thing could be so mesmerizing. It was perfect for getting lost in ones own thoughts. The methodical falling of the water, the soft sound that resonates off the forest floor and leaves, even the scent of rain could put one into an almost catatonic state of mind. Jigsaw could stand there listening and staring for hours. All of the aspects of rain combined seemed to cause a horse to delve deeper within their own being, to explore their mind and who they really are.
The stallion was pulled out of his reverie as he heard his companion say his name. "Yeah?" he asked. The mare proceeded to ask him how he found the herd he was currently in and what made him want to join. An amused smile played at the stallion's lips before he opened his maw to answer her. "Well Vodka, I actually didn't find my 'erd. I was born into it. My mum was a 'erd member 'ere, one o' the old leader's favourites. My father was the lead warrior o' the land. I grew up there with my mother an' my twin sister. I've jus' always been a part o' that 'erd. As I grew up though I was given the chance t'go where ever I wanted. I decided t'say. I guess I jus' felt at 'ome there, what a shocker, an' I really didn't 'ave a reason t'go anywhere else. Plus, when I did decide t'stay the leader, Aro, let me take over my father's position of lead warrior. So now even if I wanted to leave, the 'erd would be down a valuable member. They need me."
"Why d'you ask?" Jigsaw questioned. Was she really trying to get herd joining information from him? He was not the best horse to ask that question. One herd. That was all he ever knew his whole life was one herd. Born and raised there. Hell, Jigsaw would probably even die there one day. Yes, he liked to wander around the island terrorizing every horse weaker than he was, but he still had a place to call home. Not many horses could say that. He had no reason to want to leave his herd for good. He would be mostly hurting himself if he did. Plus, what other herd would take him after his already infamous reputation as well as the infamous reputation his father Masquerade had.
