[/i]" Aithne's maw twitched, forming a twisted snarl. "You just said the wrong thing, dear. Never." Aithne suddenly lunged and secured the other Zuden's throat between constricting jaws, blood flowing like a river in her mouth as her grip grew tighter and tighter on the struggling mare, until she struggled no more, and she simply let go, allowing the dead creature to fall to the soiled Earth. She spat in discust, nudging the corpse with her hoof before she stepped away. Her eyes raised to around her, and a small smirk formed on her facade. Her little raven friends would have a nice treat to wake up to in the morning, now wouldn't they? The gray Zuden gave a final look to the fallen mare, before she turned away and stepped into the swallowing darkness, abandoning the crimescene.
The only thing that could be seen during this hour of the night was the sweat gleaming off their backs in the dim moonlight, the air wrapped around them in suffocating stillness, only disturbed by the occasional raggid breath and roar of flame as it spiraled with acute accuracy between the pair of equine that shifted around each other, playing a beautiful but deadly dance unable to be processed quite clearly to non-nocturnal pairs of eyes. But fire brought to light the dire situation, and as a brown mare tossed another ball of flame towards her opponent, it lit fire to the ground nearby them, lighting up the scene. Blood mingled with the mud soaking the ground in some malistic mess, dribbling slickly off of both mares' flanks as they paused for a breath, sides heaving. Only the crackle of the flame disturbed them beside the occasional hoot of an owl farther off in the forest, though they were not alone - eyes watched all around them, though they did not know it.
"Give it up, Aithne," the brown fae snarled bitterly over the bit of blood that dribbled from her maw. "You won't get away with anything, and you'll die just like the rest of them. Mudblooded, idiotic, worthless. You don't stand a chance!" The mare flashed a bloody grin, peering up at the gray mare that looked down at her, golden eyes flickering in the firelight. She remained silent for quite some time, before a low chuckle rumbled from her throat. "I tried to tell you, poor little one. I tried to tell you all, but no one would listen. And now here you are because of it. Do you feel any remorse, dear Maria? Do you regret what you've done to everyone, to me?" Aithne's eyes remained on the other mare's, and tsked lightly in her throat when the other mare merely laughed, spitting blood on her face. "Remorse? Ha! Aiden was right, you're such an softie. Why would I regret anything I've done, especially to you? My dear Aithne, your mind has been tainted. All bugs have to be worked out of the system."
Aithne shook her head at Maria, her expression grave. "So that is why you tried coming after me now, and killing me yourself? I'm just a glitch in the system? You have it all wrong, and that grave mistake has a hefty price. A deadly one, I should think so. Don't you agree?" Her solemn expression began to melt away, a wicked grin spreading across a bloodstained maw as she took a step forward, matching the brown mare's pace as she stepped back, though she hid the fear on her face well. A soft laugh rumbled from the back of her throat, eyes glinting with triumph. "What's the matter?" she swooned, sparks beginning to fly out of her mouth as she smoke. Maria's eyes widened in horror. "Are you .. afraid?" Maria's eyes narrowed and her teeth bared, but her expression was anything but fearsome. What was happening? Aithne snickered, lowering her head and grinning at her, her teeth glowing a warm orange. Well..you should be."
The gray Zuden suddenly reared, and with a hiss flame exploded from her maw toward Maria, briefly envolping her in blue fire. From within her fiery tomb the fae shrieked, "My eyes!" and the flames disapeared. Aithne tsked lightly in her throat as she studied the other mare, who had buried her face into her forelegs. "You see, Maria? Nothing good ever comes to those her murder needlessly. " She slowly stepped towards her, and the brown mare's hooves began to flicker with flames. "I wouldn't be talking, Aithne. You're turning just like us. You say murder is bad, but look what you're doing yourself! You stand for the good and peace of the island, but you're only doing the same thing we are. You're just. like. us.
ooc: this isn't necissarily a post, but people are welcome to post on it but consider the absence of Aithne. This post is for plot purposes.
