Deeper and deeper, the snow had piled onto the plateau of the Era. Bolin and Marut had tried their hardest to remove the snow, but their efforts had been in vain because it had snowed later that night, covering all their hard work. Now, Bolin, Fusion, and Marut stood at the edge of the pond, facing the cliff, their ears pricked forward. Ready, Fusion? This will be a test on how your powers have grown, Marut said quite calmly, glancing over to his grandsom. Fusion nodded, the palomino paint's eyes narrowed slightly.
Channel all your thoughts, my son. Try to move a patch of snow using the wind so that the herd can have grass, Bolin instructed, and Fusion nodded at his father's words. The young Era's eyes narrowed again, and he concentrated on moving and warping the wind so it would blow the snow away. Slowly, a small tornado of snow formed and moved a few feet to the cliff side. However, it was suddenly engulfed in flames, all the snow melting and falling to the ground as droplets of water.
Fusion huffed and Bolin glanced toward the ramp to the plateau, noticing his sister standing there, a devilish smirk across the young mare's maw. Aeon flicked her tail and the fire disappeared, her fiery eyes dancing wildly. Does she always have to mess with me, Fusion asked, and Marut snorted softly. She is just jealous. But that was a good start! You would have cleared a good chunk with that trick. You can try again later. For now, just rest, the Lead said, and turned away from the two stallions, facing his step daughter.
Aeon, have you seen Davi, Tuula, or Haize lately, the stallion asked, and the devil filly merely smirked at the stallion's question. Do I look like their keepers? I only worry about myself, this comment from Aeon caused Bolin to snort at her, What? A horse should worry about herself, not everyone else. Fusion had been turning to leave, but he paused. Ears flicked back against his skull, and he turned around so quickly that a small gust of wind was created, blowing into his father and Marut. He was in Aeon's face in a heartbeat.
You only think about yourself and your own gains. Never have I seen you think about this herd that so kindly took you in when no one else would. Hell, Aeon, no one even likes you, but we grit our teeth and deal with it. If I were in Grandfather's place, I would kick you out now. You are nothing but the spawn of a baster who ramped an innocent mare. May you rot in Hell for eternity, the stallion's eyes turned to a brilliant blue color, the wind whistling around him. Aeon loved to see people angry, and even now, with Fusion rambling on and on, she couldn't help but smile widely. She fed off this type of anger, and a single whip of fire appeared in the air, slashing across Fusion's face quickly.
The young stallion let out a whinny of fury, pulling his head away, blood seeping from the large gash across his eye. The flame whip disappeared instantly, a satisfied look crossing Aeon's face. However, it changed as a huge gust of wind swept around her, slashing at her body. Fusion's eyes danced angrily, as he flicked his head, the wind disappearing. Small cuts littered the young mare's body, trickles of blood starting to mix into the hairs of her brown coat, and dripping down into the white snow below. YOU WILL PAY, the hell-spawn hissed at the Ear, flames circling her body quickly.
ENOUGH, Marut bellowed, and the flames disappeared, as did the gale Fusion started to brew, you two will not fight. Aeon, go away. You have caused enough harm already. Just because you are Tuula's daughter by blood, does not mean I have to keep you here. Now, get out of my sight! Aeon stared for at Marut for a moment, astonished at his words, then let a sly smile cross her maw. Fine. If you want me to go, and you really don't like me, I will go. But, mark my words, Marut, my father will see to it that your little herd falls and that my mother is his slave for forever, the hell-horse snarled, flames emitting from her nostrils as they flared. She turned quickly, disappearing down the ramp to the plateau.
She will be going to Felwood, Bolin said to Marut, who merely nodded at the other stallion's words. He wasn't worried about Aeon going to Hannibal. He was more worried about what Tuula would say about him sending Aeon away. The lead stallion turned, his mind already deep in thought. I noticed something while Aeon was using her fire abilities. She has almost mastered them and it reminds me of the Zunden and their powers... do you think... Bolin started to question, and stopped when Marut looked at him. Hannibal couldn't be a Zunden, he doesn't show signs of it, Marut spoke gently and Bolin shrugged. Might just be the powers that the Devil gave him. Aeon could have inherited them, the dark paint spoke, glancing toward the cliff, and frowning.
While the two older stallions chatted about Aeon and Hannibal, Fusion slipped away, heading down the slope to the hidden beach. The stallion shook his head, looking out across the ocean. There had to be something more than this. |

Tuula had not intended on joining the rest of the herd at the plateau’s peak today. Her every thought was revolving around her daughters’ disappearances. Both Davi and Haize were gone now. The mare had brooded and sulked and searched and strained her powers, but no matter what she tried she had no luck. Her fillies were undetectable it seemed; and things were not looking up for the Era’s future if Davi reunited with her father. Not to mention the missing state of only child of the leads… what if she had fallen prey to the cold or some other beast out there? Little did Tuula know how bad things really were.
The speckled creature murmured quietly amongst herself of the possibilities as she paced in small circles. The circles were trekked so frequently there that no snow clung to the paths. Tuula seemed quite miserable and honestly a bit mad as she paced and murmured amongst herself. That was when a passing silhouette caught the lady’s two-toned gaze. What was this? It looked like her grandson, Fusion. He seemed to be somewhat perturbed. What was happening now? Perhaps, it was something good? Maybe one, or both, of her daughters had returned. The mare could easily see how Davi returning would bother the colt, after all. Davi, much like Aeon, enjoyed tormenting the colt and anyone else for that matter.
Maternal instinct drove the mare to stop her maniacal circles and dart to the peak. Hopeful elation was soon replaced with rage and deeper fret. She did not have to hear the words from Marut or Bolin; the wind spelled out the tale. Marut had banished her only remaining daughter from the lands. And, for what – for her to return to Hannibal?
Ivories were bared as she approached her son and mate. “How could you? Do you not know what this will do to us!? Aeon and Davi are forces to be reckoned with on their own; surely we cannot even fathom what will happen when they are reunited with Hannibal! And, you… you just force her off to join them both?” Tuula tossed her head into the wind, bewildered with its current stories. She wanted not to hear another word from it!

There was only so far that a horse could explore on the vast plataeu Avvolgere. And especially after a dragging winter of bland whiteness, Alizée was becoming a bit perplexed on whether she should venture off on her own again or remain here. She had tried little games to entertain herself, like walking near the edge of the plateu for example and see if she could step correctly and not tumble to her death. But the wind always gave away the game, so she soon had to give up on that. It very often occurred to the Era that she hadn't really spoken to any of the higher stallions like Bolin or Marut in a matter of years, so that maybe they thought she was dead and no longer existed. But then she reminded herself she was an idiot and the wind would tell them if one of their own died, and continued on her own business of trying to find a way to amuse herself.
After several fruitless efforts of trying to make up a new game, Alizée found herself walking along the edges of the plateu again, her eyes cast out to the gray winter sea that raged nearby, outlined by flecks of white snow that flew down almost constantly now. She expected that in the spring that there would be many forsaken bodies of skinny horses that couldn't survive. It was tragic, of course, but the Era felt no other real feeling of sympathy toward the soon-to-be dead; it was apart of life, so why mourn?
Alizée only paid attention mildly to the wind as it whispered about the occurrence between Marut's bloodline, her eyes still watching the sea. It was also getting bland, how so much happened to the Marut family. Their lives really did have a bundle of never-ending drama, and as long as their descendants still lived, like a curse it would follow them down the line. It even proved to attach itself to the young stallion, Fusion. She knew his mother, somewhat. After the wind's gentle prompting, her name came to her. Anemone. She couldn't say she was friends with the other Era, but she had spoken to her enough to find fondness for soft creature.
The mare sighed inwardly, ears flicking in annoyance as they buzzed with the news of Tuula beginning to chew out Marut and Bolin. Couldn't the wind pester some other mare? Alizée was never one to be a gossip, and this power was proving quite useless to her. Seeking a distraction to the constant blabbing, the era began to trot along the rim of the plateu, until her gaze spotted a spot of color among the blank sheet of white. It happened to be Fusion, of course, seeking refuge from the issues beginning to press down on his family, perhaps? All her sincerest sympathies for him, but she was glad she was distant from their problems. She would just about go insane if she had to deal with an ounce of that.
"Clever of you to find this beach," Alizée said, her voice carrying so that it sounded she were right beside him as she paused and peered down over the edge of the plateu, her long forelock covering over the left side of her face. She smiled. "Actually, a bit more clever that you even found a way down without falling. Hmm."

Bolin was surprised at his mother's appearance, and took a few steps back, his ears drawn back against his skull. A wild snort escaped Marut, and the Lead stared at his mate, eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the mare. You think I'm stupid, Tuula? It was only a matter of time that the little witch would turn on us, or Hannibal would show up to get them. I've had enough of her picking on Fusion. I can't just stand by when an Era is getting picked on. You of all should know this, |
what had happened to the two? When did their relationship turn to harsh voices and angry words thrown at each other? Of course, it was probably bound to happen sooner or later. No good relationship lasts forever. Was that the course of Tuula's and Marut's relationship?
From beside the Lead, Bolin's ears too were tilted against his head. Golden eyes stared at his mother, almost wondering who this creature was before him. But, he came to his senses, and he nickered faintly. Mother... you knew this was going to happen. There was no denying it. You knew that Davi and Aeon would be going to Dad sooner or later. It is better that it is now than later. The herds are too weak to fight during the winter, we can build our herd up now, while they are trying to preserve theirs, so that we aren't wiped out if they plan an attack, the younger stallion's voice held some wisdom to it, which really surprised him. Marut nodded at his step-son's words, wondering if his mate would understand.
Fusion looked away from the ocean, up the cliff side to where Alizée stood. Ears tilted forward, and he flared his nostrils at her. There is a path there, Alizée. Didn't you know this, he tilted his head at the mare, quite confused. Hadn't she known about the pathway, partially hidden, leading down to the white sands of the beach?[/blockquote] ! california girls ((katy perry)) ! 330 words ! template/table lizzeh 2010.

Normally, Tuula would have understood, but normally, Tuula would have been in her right mind…
The mare’s ears flicked back at Marut’s words and tone. Further frustration boiled from her son’s words. They were turning against her. Ivories remained bared at the duo before the speckled ivory took a harsh turn away from the pair. Her breath was bated and heart pounding as her rage rushed through her like a flame. She wished to lash out at the stallions; her own mate and son.
Then the realization came to her; it was her own mate and son that she longed to sink her teeth into. This was not right, yet she was unable to control the urge. Tuula knew she couldn’t stay around them right now. She had to go somewhere and think about this rationally. “I have to go clear my head,” she hissed before scaling down the slope. She was not certain where she would go, but she had maintained enough of her ability to rationalize to realize that she just wasn’t stable enough to be here right now.
Her departure was distracted from soon enough, it seemed. For now, the only son of Orpheus, Yamanu was scaling up to the peak of the plateau. His head was held high, but he obviously meant no harm to the heard by the look on his face. His expression was anxious for he knew times were tense in the Era lands. As much as he tried to deny the wind, the moment he stepped in these lands he could not. The wind bombarded him with every gory detail of the current happenings. Things were as bad here as they had been in Inferno. Yamanu could only hope he and his companion would be welcomed here… for Annabelle’s sake.
“Marut,” he called out for the lead’s attention. However, his eyes could not help but fall on Bolin. The young stallion recalled the Hannibal look-alike not being too fond of him as a foal.

The skull-faced mare blinked oddly down at the young stallion, before her gaze flickered away from him to scour the cliffside, until she spotted the trail sloping down the side of the plataeu. Alizée hmphed softly, drawing her head back as she snorted, turning her attention back to Fusion. "I have to admit, I didn't. Well, its hard to see anything in this snow. Either that, or I'm going blind. Both are unfortunate, if I do say so myself." Alizée shrugged her withers lightly, her gaze raising again out to the sea. Her nostrils flared slightly as the wind buzzing in her ears told her of another era, entering the land and perhaps speaking to Marut. There was something about him having a friend, but Alizée didn't pay attention enough to get into details, her mind wandering as she looked out towards the sea, briefly forgetting the presence of Fusion.

Bolin watched, in saddness, as his mother turned away from her mate and son, moving away from them, and down the ramp to the plateau. His head lowered slightly, almost like he was defeated, and he closed his gentle eyes. She just needs time, Bolin. Do not fret, the Lead spoke to his step-son, and the Hannibal look-alike nodded, and suddenly opened his eyes. The wandered over to the newest arrival, ears flicked forward, and he flared his nostrils. As soon as Marut's name left Yamanu's lips, a sharp snort escaped the Beta stallion. An old heartache suddenly overtook the younger stallion, and he shook his head.
Settle, Bolin. He is welcome among the Era. You, of all horses, should know. Even if he is Orpheus' and Ch-, Don't... don't say her name... please, Bolin's voice was strained, and he turned away from Yamanu and Marut, walking over to the cliff side, his head lowered in sadness. The ache he hadn't felt in such a long time, since him and Anemone had started being together, had returned. Oh, how he missed Cheza now, seeing Yamanu within Avvolgere.
How may I help you, Yamanu, Marut asked the young stallion, his ears flicked forward slightly. Nostrils flared, and he wondered why Orpheus' son was within Era lands. Did the spawn of Hannibal know that his only heir was here?
I'm sorry if I snapped at you, Alizée. It's just... been very hard lately, Fusion said softly, hoping he hadn't offended the mare. Ears flicked atop his head, the wind telling him, as well, about the newcomer within Era lands. What did his cousin want? He blinked his eyes, trying to get the stinging wind out of them, and noticed that the cut across his eye had stopped bleeding, but still was swollen. Turning quickly, he walked to the water's edge, calming the wind around him, making the water before him perfectly still, looking down into the water.
He saw his reflection, and recoiled slightly. Running vertical across his eyes was a cut, and he knew that this cut was going to scar, and it'd be that way. Tail slapped across his hide, allowing the wind to blow around him once more, tussling his mane and tail. |

{ Please, just don't play with me, My paper heart will bleed. This waiting for destiny won't do. Be with me, Please, I beseech you. Simple things, That make you run away! Catch you if I can! } Annabelle | The small mare had bounded off after Yamanu, her pace quick to try and keep up with the swift stallion.
As he shouted at her to run, she didn't question, or even begin to think about who, or what Yamanu had seen. Annabelle didn't even care, she just wanted to run and get away from everything. From everyone, from everything she had come to know.
---
The petite, striped mare came up a few minutes behind the stallion who she had been attempting to keep up with, her breathing ragged. Annabelle stood with her head lowered to the white earth for a few moments, breathing through her nostrils, stretching them as far as they could withstand before drawing a new breath of air back in to fill her lungs.
As the multi-colored mare brought her striped crania upward, her baby blue gave drifting from one horse to the other. The younger mare's ears recoiled, drifting backwards with uneasiness. She didn't belong here, the Nyfrio could sense it.
Annabelle dropped her gaze, shifting in her place uneasily. The mare felt like it wasn't her place to say a thing, her jaw clenching as she brought up her gaze, glancing at Yamanu with disdain.
