Winter had finally fallen upon Isola, after the wind had nipped angrily at the Era's bodies. Snow drifts rose upon the bluff that the herd made their home upon, and the exposed territory was buffeted by frequent gusts of wind. And the herd didn't even bother to shield themselves from the season's fury. They had grown used to the constant changing of the weather. Beside the now frozen lake stood the small figure of a stallion, his lightly painted body almost blending in with the snow drifts rising around him. The only movement made by him was that of his sides, small puffs of heated air rising from his nostrils. Fusion's eyes stayed closed, as another large gust of wind blew flurries of snow into is face. "It shall get better, my son," Bolin spoke beside the younger stallion, and Fusion huffed slightly. "I wish it would just pass already. It's getting annoying."
The larger stallion merely smiled at his son, and shifted his darker painted body, so that he was shielding the younger. Ears flicked back, another gust of wind blowing upon the bluff. Eyes drifted around the snow-capped landscape, wondering who else from the Era herd was wandering around in such dangerous conditions. From the corner of his eye, he could see Marut moving beside the large tree, making a large patch of snow-less grass. The lead lowered his head, nibbling upon the blades of grass. Near him lay Aeon, the Felsteed's head lowered and tucked under her belly to try to keep it warm.
However much the filly tried, however, she was still cold. Though, her mind was made up. She was not going to go cozy up to Marut for warmth. Worse comes to worse, she would die before she did that. The once blazing hooves and eyes were considerably dimmer, as if the life were draining from the young creature. If she didn't get warmth, it did seem as if she were going to die.
Bolin stared at her sister, noting how much more frail the filly looked. He shifted slightly where he stood, and Fusion noticed how uncomfortable his father looked. "What's wrong," the colt asked, and Bolin looked to his son. "Don't you fret about it, young one. Just worry about yourself and your own survival this winter." The older stallion's tone must have offended the young stallion, because Fusion moved away from his father's side, his head lowered and ears back against his skull. Bolin snorted softly, and shook his head, looking around the bluff once more. Where was everyone? Had the winter's cold taken the lives of the other Era members?

Frankly, she didn't consider herself apart of the Era herd. Alizeé only had shown her face once around here, and that was such a long time ago it was so easy for it to slip from her mind. She had been living in her own little world of calm as the island fell apart around her, many horses falling under the Zϋden's burtal powers. Of course, she could be helping to stop them like some of the other elementals were, but it was entirely against her nature to involve herself in violence. It was all such a petty war to her. Why was it so hard for them all to exist without trying to tear each other's throats out? But seeing how thick headed everyone else was, some things just couldn't change.
During the long time away from Avvolgere, Alizeé had been wandering around the island, talking to all sorts of horses on her travels. But each and every one never failed to gawk at the skull etched on her face. Now it was getting quite annoying for her to deal with, so she decided to return to Avvolgere. And so here she was, trekking through snow drifts up to her knees. Her legs were frozen it seemed, and moving them was the only thing keeping them from freezing solid. Her brown eyes squinted against the blindingly white landscape, her mane whipping all about her face as the wind continued to howl around her. She could barely see due to the wind stinging her eyes, but it told her of other Eras present close by. She paused, trying to scent them, but only inhaled an icy lungful of air. Alizeé pricked her ears and let out a whinny into the frosty air, making sure the wind carried it over to the group.
The mare let out a smokey sigh before continuing on through the snow, determined to find the other Eras. The wind whispered in her ear, telling her each of the horses' names. She recognized Marut and Bolins, but not Fusion or Aeon's. But of course, they could have been there the whole time and she not know; afterall, she had never spoken to anyone except Bolin or Marut once perhaps, but that memory was fuzzy in her brain. Not that it mattered, anyway. They probably only exchanged a few words that had set her up in the herd. As she mused through her thoughts, she continued to shuffle through the snow until a few colored spots against the snow caught her attention.

The elder mare had believed she was doing the right thing. Her daughter seemed so weak in the harsh gales – so drained. Tuula and Davi were by no means a close mother/daughter pair; one could even venture to say that the two loathed each other. But, maternal instinct had overridden the mare’s distaste for her filly. She had taken Davi to the base of Avvolgere where the gales were not so bitter. She had hoped the young foal could rest easier where the cold was not so bitter. Tuula even planned to bring the filly’s sister to the base in a few days knowing she had fared none much better than her twin. Davi had entirely other plans.
Although weaker than normal and certainly in no state to travel, the young Felsteed was ever determined to meet her true father. In the middle of the night, she took advantage of her mother’s slumber and how close they were to the exit – she slipped off into the darkness without a word.
Tuula had spent days in search of her foal although daring not to venture too far from her homelands; with the Zunden on the prowl and sparking up battles, the bitter cold was the least of her worries. The wind proved no aid in locating her youngest. For once, the gales seemed deadly silent.
When the speckled ivory finally returned home there was more fret to greet her. It seemed the wind had decided to befriend her again for a temporary moment. Haize, too, was now gone! The young mare had become so distraught when she could not locate her mother in their home, that she had gone out to be sure the elder mare was safe. Beyond that, the wind would speak no more nor relay message to or from Haize. There was an odd interference in the wind that even the matriarch of the herd could not dispel. News flooded her ears from all around the isle, but not a word of her young – as if they had never existed.
Tuula scaled to the peak of the plateau as quickly as she could in the obstacles that such bitter cold provided. An urgent whinny escaped her maw as she came across a small group of the Era family. “Davi and Haize are missing!” As she neared Marut her voice lowered as to not alert Aeon with too many details. “I fret that Davi is in search of Hannibal.” This was the thing that frightened Tuula most of her demonic yearlings. If they ever got to Hannibal, she could only fear in what terrible ways he might warp their already hate-filled minds. “And, Haize, I think she went out looking for me,” this last bit hurt Tuula immensely. Never had she wanted her beloved daughter to come to harm, and it was so dangerous out there…

{ To give me all your love is all I ever asked. Cause what you don't understand is I'd catch a grenade for you. } Anemone | [/blockquote] The small ash grey mare made her way through the deep snow as fast as she could as she smelt her mate and son's scent on the wind. She hadn't seen them in a year, almost. She had been on her own. Anemone couldn't explain why she left, but she was back. Back for good.
"Bolin! Fusion!" Anemone trotted to them through the snow, finally seeing them since a year. "You've grown so big." She nuzzled her son, her maw lingering a few more seconds before she moved to her mate. "I love you so much Bolin." She nuzzled his muzzle lovingly.
Tuula soon came to say that Davi and Haize were missing. Anemone's gold eyes looked into Tuula, learning that she had another set of twins by Hannibal. The Era mare cocked her head, watching her curiously. She knew that Haize was her daughter, but she had two more daughters? It was then her gaze caught a black lump on the ground next to Fusion, and she learned her name was Aeon.
Her gold eyes watched the filly cautiously, sensing the fury that was burning within her. She looked over her, seeing that she was freezing. Anemone snorted, raising her crania back up. But the mare also sensed the hatred that the filly had for the Era. She stared at Aeon for a few moments longer, wanting to warm the filly up but decided against it. But instead blew a small warm breeze to the filly. There was no need for the filly to freeze, even if it was a hell spawn.
Golden gaze then traveled back to Tuula. Anemone knew that there were only a few explanations for their sense of non-existince. One was that Aeon was using the small part of Era in her to mask her and her halfsister, or that Hiaze was using it to mask her away from Hannibal and Orpheus, or Orpheus was masking them. Either way, it was bad.
But Anemone just stood there awkwardly. Having been away from the herd for almost a year, she didn't say what she knew.
