{ I told him that I couldn't lie, That he was the only one for me. } Annabelle | The mare stood alone in the snow, watching as it fell all around her. She smiled, and looked down to the pond, and shivered
Annabelle looked around, shaking the piling snow off of her striped back. She wished her mother, or, more longingly, Yamanu. But her mother was gone. Dead. She'd given herself up to the cold. Annabelle watched her, silently, as she slipped into the snow, her life slowly slipping away. Of course Annabelle tried to make her get up and move, but her mother merely nuzzled her daughter and told her it was better this way, so she wouldn't have to live like this anymore. Of course, the nyfrio cried. Of course, she was heartbroken for a while. But now, everything was numb. It didn't matter anymore, her mother was dead. Nothing mattered.
And that was why Annabelle was just standing there in the snow, looking at the frozen pond. She looked to her mother's body, under the ice. The only pond was bloody, and only water source of Inferno. Annabelle had put her mother out of her misery. Ecstacy was near death, and the mare couldn't stand to see her mother like this. So, she just merely crushed her skull and pushed her into the pond. It was nothing painful or torturing, unlike the snow. Actually, it was better than dying by being frozen to death. Atleast, that was Annabelle's opinion.
Annabelle looked to the bloody snow, just staring for a few minutes. "I love you, Mother." And the tears fell.
She shed a few tears, but merely kept her gaze alternating from the frozen blood on the snow to her mother, her body frozen in the pond.
"You didn't have to die. But you wanted to, because of this hell we live in." Annabelle murmered, her mane and tail blowing in the knife-like wind. "You wanted to die the painfilled way. So, I made it painless." She was talking to no one, her voice lost in the wind.
The mare wanted to go and find Orpheus, to rip his heart out with her bare teeth. She could do it, if she could find him. She wanted to, she longed to taste his hate-filled blood. But she never would. That was Yamanu's father. And Orpheus would kill her before she would do any major damage.
Annabelle stood, alone, in the bitter cold, hock-deep snow, staring at nothing.

The stallion had been on his way to the small watering hole in hopes that the ice was not yet too thick to get a hoof through. Yamanu could already tell that this winter was going to be a harsh one; most likely the harshest of his four winters alive. The thought caused his ears to lean taut against his skull. Would the herd survive between the threat of the blistering cold and the wrath of the elementals? Honestly, he was not certain.
As of late, Yamanu had been distant from the wind and its gossip, but the last hour or so it had nagged quite intensely for his attention. So persistent it was that he finally gave in and allowed it to tell its horrid tale. And, so horrid was the story that his pace immediately increased – Annabelle was in trouble if that same story was floating through his father’s auds. Orpheus surely would not tolerate a murderer amongst the herd; her reasoning for the act simply would not matter to him.
The frenzy that the colt felt was confusing. He had been so careful to be distant from everyone, not wishing to turn cruel like his father. It was his biggest fear, so he took the road of a loner most of the times to avoid hurting those that he felt care for deep down. His heart was pounding in his chest as he could scent his father – there was chance that Orpheus might just get to her first! The moment that his blue orbs fell upon her dainty silhouette in the clearing Yamanu could not help but feel relieved although one might not know such a feeling existed by his solemn expression.
There was no time taken with niceties. Yamanu paused only momentarily in front of Annabelle. His gaze never drifted to the tainted drinking water or the crimson splotches in the snow. Rather, his intense gaze was stuck on the young mare. [“Go, now, my father is coming and you will not live if he gets to you.” The stallion paused to channel his rusty powers. He had to build a protective shield to keep the wind from betraying his next words. “I will meet you wherever you end up, just go!” There was (a rarely seen) urgency in the painted stag’s voice and eyes as he nudged Annabelle’s neck. Orpheus was close, so close that Yamanu could taste his scent as it drifted upon the bitter gales.

{ I told him that I couldn't lie, That he was the only one for me. } Annabelle | Annabelle looked up, her blue eyes emotionless, her facade the same. "No. He's going to come here, he's going to face me. This is my only chance of getting out of this place. I'm just as powerful, if not more than him." The mare finally moved her striped legs, snow clumping under her hooves. "I'm sick of being afraid of him, Yamanu. There's no reason for me to stay here now, since my mother's dead."
Annabelle turned away, looking away from her old friend. He was nothing more than an old childhood friend, he would merely stay that way. "She wanted to die, because of him. I only put her out of her misery." Her gaze only stayed hard and cold. "She deserved that atleast. He would've never gave just that to her." She inched further away from the painted stallion, waiting for the demon that kept her captive here to come.
'You wouldn't understand." The mare murmered before turning and facing the other way, waiting for Orpheus.
So, it was finally going to happen. He was either going to kill her, she could run, or he would exile her from Inferno. To Annabelle, it was die, or fight for what you believe it. The Nyfrio was prepared to fight the era mutt if she had to.

“Damnit, Annabelle, will you just listen to me,” the stallion snarled as he moved in front of his childhood companion. “Do you not understand I am trying to help you? Leave Inferno, now! If you don’t there is not a thing I will be able to do to keep my father from killing you.”
The stallion snorted as she spoke of being able to take Orpheus, “don’t be stupid. You and I both know you wouldn’t survive the battle. My father is twice your size, and mutt or not his powers are stronger than most pure Era. Now, go, go as fast and far as you can. I assure you that you will not be alone for long, but please,” the stallion was sure to look his companion in the eyes, “go. If you don’t we’re both likely to die in this very spot.” There was a plead in his tone and even gaze – he cared for his friend, and if she did not leave, he feared she would die today.
Yamanu let out a deep breath of exhaust as he let down the shield. The stag was not well-practiced with his powers and it took a lot of energy to channel them. His ears pricked as he turned his bodice, pleading look replaced with a solemn determination. Orpheus was near, but the wind was not friendly enough as to give his exact location. The stag’s blue orbs glanced back at Annabelle once more as he whispered, “go, please.”

{ Even if I tell you It's alright I still hear you say you want to end your life. } Annabelle | The mare blinked, her ears flicking back against her skull. She stepped forward, emitting a feral snarl. "Dammit Yamanu, you don't understand!" She seethed, her eyes growing dark.
Annabelle glared at him, but backed away, turning her head away as he asked her, please. She's never heard that tone from him, not even when he was a young colt.
She closed her eyes hard, going back to their childhood. He was always nice, so caring. He actually showed emotion. The mare turned her head back to look at him, her ears still tucked against her skull. "You don't understand," her harsh tone softened. " that if I leave, he's going to hurt you." Annabelle shook her pelt to rid the snow before turning her delicate bodice around.
"You should leave." She turned her head slightly to glance at the stallion she had once knew. "I don't want you to get hurt because of me. If Orpheus killing me is what it takes, I'll still stay." Her blue eyes were hard again, emotionless and distant.
Her facade showed no emotion as she watched him silently, trying to remember a time when she wasn't around Orpheus and Yamanu wasn't so distant and cold.
Annabelle's light blue eyes closed, and the ice cracked apart on the glass as she opened them again, leaving a whole in the middle of the bloody pond. She glanced over, looking at her mother's dead body. She turned back to him, her gaze cold.

Yamanu wanted to lash out at the mare once more, but he held his tongue. He knew that right now was hard time for her – she was having a mental breakdown and as so, it seemed like she was not thinking things through. She was being rather dumb, he had to admit; she had said she wanted to leave right? Well, he was telling her to. He was telling her that that was alright and in fact that it was a good idea. And, now, she wanted to stay here and fight? And, for what, to just end up dying as her mother had only moments before. Mares.
Stallion snorted as a new plot came to his mind – it was not as foolproof in protecting Annabelle as his previous one, but they were running out of time! “Fine, Annabelle,” Yamanu muttered as he turned the direction opposite of which his father approached. “You seem dead-set in dying today. I will not stand here and watch you throw away your life - not even giving yourself a chance to have better than your mother. If you won’t leave, then I will,” the painted stallion could only hope he knew his friend as well as he used. He hoped dearly she would take the bait and follow him not wanting to be separated from her childhood companion again. As he began to walk away, his heart beat heavily against his chest. Please, follow me.
A pair of light blue eyes observed in silence. Orpheus was far enough that the two were unlikely to detect him but with the wind’s aid he could observe the scene quite clearly.

{ My weakness is that I care too much And my scars remind me that the past is real I tear my heart open just to feel! } Annabelle | Annabelle shook her multi-colored pelt as he spoke to her. Her ears tucked against her skull as he stated he was leaving. Her blue eyes softened somewhat, and she took a couple steps forward. "Fine," She sighed and looked down. "I'll go." She looked back up and blinked in the wind. "For you."
Annabelle stepped forward to catch up with him, and turned her cold blue gaze on him. "You win." She muttered, her gaze narrowing somewhat before she turned her head and continued walking.
The Nyfrio mutt slapped her two-toned tail angrily against her hocks. She was angry at herself, at her mother, at Yamanu. The mare knew Orpheus was more than likely to kill her, but she wanted, so badly, to atleast inflict just a little of the pain he made her mother endure. It'd be worth it, to see the look in the large stallion's eyes. But instead, she was running. She was running away after murdering her mother. Her own mother? Annabelle was beyond furious at multiple things, but mainly herself.
The young mare looked at Yamanu, her jaw tightening. Her gaze lingered for a few seconds longer than needed before she looked away, tucking her ears against her skull.
Bell's jaw tensed as she continued walking, and her blue gaze was harsh.
