Damien
He could barley take it anymore, his lungs were nearly filled with water, while salt stung his throat and eyes. He was blinded by fury and the cold water that froze his insides. He paddled and paddled against the rough waves that had tossed him to and fro. He had already doubted his decision to flee, but now it was just a swim for survival. He could feel himself giving in, his conscience slipping away, but he fought against it, he fought to find a new home, he just knew something was out, something that could save him. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the island begin to rise on the skyline. He just fell into survival mode and swam as fast as he could.
His hooves slammed into the lovely feeling of sand. Finally something was solid beneath his feet. He threw himself up onto shallower areas and just collapsed. He let the smaller waves rush in around him, surrounding his body in the salty water yet again. His once shining golden coat was soaked and ragged, while his light blond mane and tail were stuck to his body, covered in salt. The waves began to come in, so Damien struggled to get up and dragged his body to a dryer spot on the beach where he collapsed again and fell asleep.
He woke up a few hours later, feeling insanely sore but a little bit more rested. He pulled himself up and looked around for a little food. He found just beach grass and a few washed up logs, so he continued on, eventually finding some grass that was still apart of the beach, but with less salt. He grazed for a while, trying to fill his stomach as much as possible. As the day moved on his stomach finally filled up, so he lied down in a soft patch of grass. He looked out across the beach and the ocean behind it, wondering where on earth he was, and how far away it even was from the mainland.
