There was something ticking inside his head as the fair coated stallion watched the love of his life, silent as she walked beside him. The light that came with the first rays of spring beat down upon her strange pelting, making bright highlights race across the vibrant colors, drawing the blue oculars farther as the stag snorted quietly, finally tearing his eyes away. Scared of My Shadow was in a state of wondering, for he himself knew that she was not calm inside, for the turmoil that had began with her leaving still raged in the depths. The massive framed equine moved slightly forth, continuing the trek into the place that they had started into together all those days back. When they had first met, it was startling for himself, the shift inside leaving a gap. Now, even as she walked at his side, the cremello paint was even more frightened of losing her forever. Nostrils flaring, the scents of spring entered as well as left with the exhale, he was grateful for the weather but could not enjoy it.
Finally, something inside him threatened to burst, and Hollow stopped gracefully, collecting himself as the stallion turned to the mare following himself with resigned natures. Sparking blue orbs shimmered as they gazed into the depths of Ice Rose's, tears pressing in the backs of them. Would she wish to rid herself of him? Why was he not enough...the stag was tearing himself apart because of this. What could he do now? 'Rose...please. Tell me. Do you wish for me to leave? I cannot survive if you leave again. I will tear myself apart.' It was always said that honesty was the best way to take things when the nature of the circumstances turned for the worse. So, Scared of My Shadow was offering the only equine he had ever loved the truth to what he was thinking without the strife of editing his tongue. Bowing the delicate cranium, his forelock shielded the eyes as they dropped to the ground, mixed forelock sweeping to cover them in a veil.
Feeling had always seemed to have a way of cleverly avoiding the stallion, from the early years of his youth up until the present. But in the last fateful days of winter as well as into the days of spring. Ice Rose had brought out, beckoned a side of him into the light that had not be witnessed by anyone whom had previously encountered himself. The mixed bred stag once more raised his orbs with the mere hope of restoring contact, for this was the final deciding point for the rest of his seemingly short life. Hollow would not go back to being purposeless, after all.

Rose watched him with confused eyes. I hasn't been that long since her leaving him the first time. And this sudden question burst from him. She knew he could tell her mood was off. But she wasn't going to leave him again. She lowered her head, leveled to his. She looked were his blue eyes would sit, even though the were shielded from her by his poll. She sighed, and looked at him with honest grey eyes. "No. I'm not going to leave again. Unless you want me to." She said.
Her mood has been off because of spring. She knew this time well. She preferred the winter, a lot. But spring has came. She knew this seasons to be of foals. She could tell. Hollow wanted kids of his own. But Rose, well, she didn't feel ready for them. But she didn't want to seem so selfish to him. She sighed as she now stood there silently now, waiting to here the question to why she seems so off.

(I forgot to say... Nice choice. Breaking Benjamin's Dairy Of Jane. Makes sense to how Rose is acting and how Hollow really wants to understand her.)

A broken smile cracked his maw as she answered, the tone she used doing little to calm the inner turmoil that was building inside of himself. The mask fitted tightly was wearing thin upon his mind, and the stallion wanted so badly to tear it off and show her was in fact he himself was. There was a pretense that something under the fragile surface was true as well as pure, but he would not know. The few times that the truth had come out, it ended in the truth of disaster more than he wished to admit. Ice Rose. The wants for them both was something of arcane nature, difference that made them the same. Something bit to break, short of rage as well as respect. Space. Was something like this all really needed for the relationship to sustain between them?
'I will never push you away from me...and I know. It is spring, isn't it? You worry. What I want will never matter if it is something that you have doubts about. I will not be so selfish. I want this to work. I want you to be happy. More so than I want to fulfill my own wants. What we need is security. What you need is someone you can trust.' In truth, Scared of My Shadow had little idea where these declarations came from, though they seemed to feel the place fitting enough for himself. Hollow moved away, turning back to his original positioning as ears flickered to listen back to her. The massive framed paint raised himself to the full extend of his height, clouded eyes staring blankly upon the expanse of land unfolding before him.
This was his home, no? A place for him to live...a place that should always have a drawing back to him. The brute wanted a family, yes. The childhood that he had forsaken and let himself be bound in chains because of. No mother, not a father, not a family in the world, or a soul to care for him. The humans wanted his pelting, his blood, but he was not correct. He was not loved. He had only been wanted for his blood. The blood that made him itch inside. Ice Rose. The only thing binding him to this world. Yet, he knew she deserved more, but he would not leave unless she wished it. Ideals that he would never force upon her. That was not his place.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#8e0000] "But I do not want to seem selfish either. I love you. But I just don't want you too feel I'm always just looking out for me, myself, and I in this story." She spoke, her words in a smoothing tone.
She knew their past had the same basic meaning. She knew well all they really knew was to protect them selves, for they had no one in their lives who would. Her family was a small herd from this island. She knew their stories well. They were once the old elemental herd of earth, but breeds mixed and powers died. Rose remember how shock everyone was to see her. Bright pink and rosey. Her original name was Pastel To Roses. The whole family called her that for her pelting. When she was a few days old, she was playing with some foals who was some what able to accept her, she stumbled into a rose bush and had caught a rose, it's vines wounded her tail. When she returned that night, everything though it'd die quickly. But months past and it brew with her. After that, even her own mother considered her a freak. She was hurt that her own family was incapable of loving her for she was, especially since they know of their linage. She snorted at the thoughts of her past. She was rejected more and more in her life until she began to call herself Ice Rose for the reasoning that she grew cold of the outside life. She use to despise equines. And she has changed quickly, since she met Hollow. She never though one could change her for the better, but he had changed her. She was a little more trusting of others, but she still kept her distance and her ice shield, which was mended since her coming back. But it never could work on Hollow. Some how, she was unable to keep him out. But she was glad she wasn't able to.

A fault ran through the thin corridor separating each fractured thought as a lapse of silence shivered between them, each thinking of the past moments that collectively lead to this one point shared between the two of them. A sliver of smile spread through his features as he turned his head to glance back at the drawing mare. She wished the same as he did. How could two individuals be so close in relation but still hold true their own desires as well as needs without the fracturing of mold that most relations where pressed into. Hollow wanted nothing more than to show her that this was all in ideal relation, that he was more than happy at this, though wanting more was to be expected. Sure, he wanted children. But that was not needed for this all to be sucessful.
'I love you. You are the beginning and the end. I will wait forever for you. Never forget that. You must think about what is best for you, and I will not pressure you. I do not want to break this. You are the best, and only good thing, that has ever happened to me.' The rest of his memories where painful declarations of blood and tearing flesh, shards of glass embedded into flesh, as well bars of steel. Bound inside. Even if he had to restrain himself. A taste of metallic splinter filled his mouth as blue orbs widened in surprise. He was entirely still with the realization. Scared of My Shadow had bit his tongue in the memory of the past. The stallion swallowed with another thin smile, this one hinting at something close to sadness.
He turned the extend of his attentions back to Ice Rose, whom was also seemed to be in thought. A small laugh broke the surface of his calmness, a little chuckle that was oddly warm in expression compared to the vacant demeanor usually occupied by the stallion. 'We are quite the pair, my love.' With short motions, the painted stag moved to turn back to her, walking the small distance to gaze down upon her, warmth behind his normally shadowed sky oculars. Love. What do you do in the name of love?

Rose smiled small, but it was warm, and greatly inviting for even her. It was the first time she actually remember pulling off a real smile. She let out small laugh as well, her dainty figure match it. "That we are."
She spoke as her icy grey eyes lifted to see his. She was glad to have him the way he was. He could see her everything that any other equine could not see her for. She sighed happily, stepping closer to him, curling her neck to tuck neatly under his.

Scared of My Shadow's blue oculars observed her with a momentarily obligation as the small hinting of genuine smile spread across her features. Arcane. Nothing he had ever seen. Witnessed. Contentious feeling spread with warm intentions across the vibrantly silken pelting that served as his hide, allowing him the natures given to crane his neck to cradle her own, breathing a sigh. It was not something of unease, but complete consignment, for this moment was what he wanted. This was what the dreams that had used to be meaningless had been made of, something-nay! everything that this second was. Her happiness was something that he had always longed for, and this was the conclusion to that want. Would Hollow be satisfied with this only? Yes. Love brought all, right?
The unusually tame stallion lifted his head to gaze out upon the expanse of Liberta, wondering to himself if she was the beginning of the end, what exactly would the end be? Hollow knew that the end would leave him breathless, cold, but if Rose was wanting of that moment, he would oblige. The cremello stag breathed slowly down upon her, wondering if she felt the same way he did. Of course. They loved each other. That was something that could never be replicated. Enough. Yes, this was enough. He could push aside all of his demons for this. 'Rose. I love you, and I always will.'
The painted pelting seemed to shiver with this declaration, for it was not a bold, but completely true statement. What she made of it was her own choice. He knew so many words, but they all melted when held to her. They where not enough. They would never be enough. Actions always spoke louder than words. The massive framed equine nuzzled her fondly into wonder. It was the things that where never thought to be possible. He always thought they lies. Myths. Something that all the fillies dreamed about but would never truly achieve, destined to be let down, nothing more. Hollow had no idea how wrong he had been.

Rose snuggled next to him, sticking to silence. It wasn't one of those silences she use in ignore others, or when she couldn't come up with anything to say. It was different for the mare. She understood the action speak louder that words, and she sometimes lived up to it. But sometimes actions we nothing with out words. But for this moment, she didn't need words. She knew she could think it, and her love would know it, like it was his own. 'I love you more than you could ever know.' she thought, as she stood next to him, nuzzling him, smiling with all plea of happiness.
