History: Zane was born in a prestigious breeding center for famous and well-bred horses. His father was a well known show jumper while his mother was a dressage champion. He was expected to be the greatest Akhal Teke sporthorse of all time, the best eventer anyone has ever seen. He was born like any other colt, and for the first few months, he was raised like any other colt. But the people began to expect so much from him so early. Some trainers snuck in when everyone else had gone to bed and started his training in jumping. They terrified him over looming jumps and chased him around rings with whips for hours, trying to build up his endurance and start his jumping skills. He began to become so tired and scared of everything, he would hide behind his mother and stay in the corner of a paddock or stall for hours, refusing to move and do anything really. Eventually the midnight training sessions stopped, and Zane began to relax. But when he turned one, the training sessions moved to the day, and he was given no breaks. He just couldn't take it anymore, he was traumatized, and the thought of being in a ring surrounded by yelling "fans" and towering jumps scared him to death. He was becoming stronger physically, but much much weaker mentally. He was about one and a half when he decided it would be best to get out. The stalls were easily accessible, and were built more for design rather than for the horses. It didn't take much for Zane to escape. He stole his way out into the night and to the ocean nearby. He didn't know what else to do, and knowing the humans, they would find him if he didn't act fast. So he swam, and swam, and swam. It wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, considering his strength, but he was worn out and completely tired by the time he reached the island. That's how Zane reached the island, but ever since he's arrived, he's had no interest in socializing with any other horse, and is happy to be alone and in charge of himself for once.
Personality: Zane is, well, definitely different. If it weren't for his upbringing, one could be positive he would be a friendly and over joyed, happy little fellow, but he's not. He is a loner, by far, and is happy to be in charge of himself for once. Of course he is also a little shy, even though he may not want to admit it. Most of the time he comes off as grumpy and constantly annoyed with everything, but it is really just Zane trying to get to know you. Once you do get to know Zane, he is an outgoing and charming stallion with a willing attitude. Of course he can be a bit paranoid, and a little jumpy, but over all a nice horse. He has just put a bit of a wall between himself and others for the time being.
