I found myself weaving in and out of towering trees at a canter. I was too anxious to walk for I was excited about finally being free. Something that I had wished for since I had been a weanling. Though now that I had found freedom, I longed to find a place I could call home. A place where other equines could keep me company and I would never have to be alone. I smiled at the thought. I nearly fell while I was thinking of this. Tripping over a branch I wasn't paying attention to. I caught myself before I acaully fell though.
I soon saw the end of the forest. Bright light shone through the opening of branches and trees leading to a large and quite lovely clearing. I thought about stopping and looking around first when I came out into it. Instead I found myself kicking up my heels and throwing my head around like a little filly. It felt good. Oh, how happy I was.
[sorry, its kinda short. No muse today]

Daggers struck the ground in a rythmical three beat pace. Beautiful arabian neck arched and shook. Pure ebony form hidden in the shadows of the trees. He continued to canter onward, loving every minute of it. He swished his tail at the pesky bugs. There were too many on hot, summer days like these. Three beat gait soon slowed to a long, slow two beat trot. He soon stopped not far from a small stream of cool, clear flowing water. He walked up to it. He dipped his maw down do drink the crystal clear liquid that flowed. When he had quenched his thirst his head shot up at the sound of something nearby. His ebony orbs looked for what was making the sound. Auds flicked to search for it. He heard something a few yards in front of him. He got into a stance that would let him fight or flee. He watched. Nothing. He kept on watching. He knew something was in there. He soon let his guard down when a doe and her newly born fawn stepped out of the bushes. He nodded his head to her as a sign that he meant no harm to her or the fawn. She nodded back and walked on with her fawn. He smiled as they left. He was glad that deer did not mean any harm, for every equine would be in danger. The island had many deer on it. They were still rareluy seen though. Such elusive creatures. He had always wondered how they kept from those that would cause them harm.
Soon after the deer had left, he picked up a brisk trot. His powerful hindquarters propelled him along the groudn. He snorted and bucked, moving into a fast canter. He stayed along the water's edge. The river soon grew wider and deeper. He slowed down as a gut of warm air blew through his charcoal mane, and whipped it around his neck. The wind carried the scent of a fellow equine somewhere ahead of him. He threw his head and slowly walk on. His auds and orbs darted around looking for the other equine somewhere. He walked for about five or six minutes when their scent was stronger. He walked in the direction it ha come from. The river began to size down now. He new it was probably ending in a pond or a small lake up ahead. As he moved the trees became less dense as he neared the clearing. He stopped when he saw the form of another equine a few hundred yards away from himself. He whinnied cautiously, for he did not if they were a friend or a foe. He was ready either way.

After I finished up with my little 'show', I decided that it was time that I calmed down, and get a little water. I bent my nape down far enough for my muzzle to reach the cool, refreshing water. I hadn't noticed it until now, but it was unbelivebly hot. Well to me. The place I had lived before here was not as hot. I looked up uncontrolably towards the big, ball of flames that we called the sun. I looked away quickly for it burned my soft brown orbs. "Wow. I'm stupid." I said to myself.
I moved my tail from side to side, trying to rid of the flys that were contantly landing apon me. Oh, how I hated them so. They served no purpose on this Earth. Except to annoy the crap out of equines. I gave a sudden jump hoping that I had scared them all off of me, but they came right back. Then out of nowhere I heard a loud whinney come from behind me. I jumped nervously at the sound of it, and turned around quickly. An ebony covered stag a few hundred yards away. My pillars carried me closer to him, and I gave a quiet laugh.
I believe you scared me, a bit. I paused for a moment. I be Roccoco. Who are you, may I ask?

Lassan's audits flicked as the equine spoke. He could now tell that it was a vixen. He took two steps closer as she paused in her speaking. She then spoke her calling to him. Roccoco. He liked the name. He walked up to her until he was a meter or so away from her painted form. "I am Lassan. 'Tis a pleasure to meet you Roccoco. And I am msorry that I startled you just a bit ago. What is a lovely essa like you doing out here alone with out a herd?" his soft lyrics were emitted from his black velvet maw. He flicked his long, ebonite banner at flies that started to land on his hindquarters and flank. He stamped his front legs as flies landed there too. He snorted as one landed right by his nare. "I hate flies."
