Mink ! » It had always been on her mind that she may die doing what she was. But to fall under the hooves of a normal, it was completely impossible. But what one's mind may accept as impossible, is just improbable to them. Nothing was impossible.
» Wandering had become such a bad habit of hers, sometimes she didn't even know where she ended up or how she got there. This happened to be the same situation, but this time Aithne knew exactly where she was. It was one of the most known territories in the island, not for its size, but for its leader. Orpheus was said to be one of the most heartless horses on the Isle, (excluding the Zuden), but a 'demon' horse named Hannibal was easily snatching away his title. Aithne believed she had nothing to worry about. I mean, who would really want to mess with a Zuden? But either way, she decided she wasn't here to fight anyone. It was due time she made alliances with the darker herds, just to let them know how serious the situation was. The Zuden herd was all but inactive, and the island was being lulled in a false sense of safety. It was her duty to remind them that they were still there, and they may attack at any time.
» First step in making an alliance, find the herd's leader. The gray Zuden tred carefully through the charred section of the forest, wondering faintly if it was any of her breed who caused this. It was like a big ugly scar, coated with ash and blackened stumps of wood. The mare gazed around cautiously, tredding lightly in the deep floor of ash. The forest gave her an eerie feeling, and when it finally blended into a mass of greenery, she was greatly relieved. The calming scents of life infultrated her nostrils, and she couldn't help but smile to herself. It was strange to think a dark horse had his harem here, it was so peaceful. But looks could be decieving.
» Aithne paused as the forest dropped away to a large expanse of long, silky grass. And in the basin of the grass was a lake, that glimmered gray, reflecting the overcast overahead. A small shape at the edge of the lake caught the mare's eye, and she squinted to see past the distance with narrowed yellow eyes. Her ears pricked and she let out a snort, before charging down the small hill. She cantered across the sea of grass, tickling her legs and belly as their stalks ran across her skin, making the mare grin in delight. But she had business to attend to, so she had to put on her poker face. The Zuden studied the other horse as they steadily drew closer as her thundering hooves ate up the distance between them. Her mane bounced on her neck and her muscles moved smoothly under her hide, and for once in a good while, she felt free. Released from the burden and paranoia of Aiden finding out of her betrayal, and of the constant run around to check on the herds. For once, she galloped for fun.
» A bellowing whinny echoed from her throat as she called out to the other horse, who by closer inspection was a paint mare. She was on a stockier side just like she was, but she was obviously much younger than she was. The other mare raised her head from the water in surprise and pricked her ears as she finally spotted her, and whinnied back in reply. Aithne slowed as she drew closer, until she finally settled on a heaving walk the rest of the short distance to the paint. She had to remind herself that she wasn't built for running, and she shouldn't do it as much as she does. Aithne's coat was slick with a thin sheen of sweat dispite the cool weather, and he skin seemed to pulse off the heat into the air. The Zuden flicked her ears and nodded to the mare as she came upon her. The look of utter horror on the filly's face when she knew what Aithne was was very much expected, but it still was horrible to see.
» "Oh! Don't be afraid, little one. I'm not here to harm you, not at all. I came to speak to your leader, Orpheus. And no, I'm not here to hurt him either," she added, her eyes studying the other mare's tan ones. She could tell she didn't believe her at all, and it would take a while to convince the paint that she was a friend, not a foe. All the other Zudens had done horrible things, but Aithne had a clean record on her hands. Trying to reassure the mare, she smiled.
-----
» This is bullshit! Mink thought as she listened to the gray mare. Why would a filthy Zuden need to speak to Orpheus? That old lump wouldn't give a rat's ass if she was here, but even if he did, all he'd do was try and take her into the herd. No matter how dangerous this thing could be, a stallion's ego could be even bigger than their sense of alarm. Idiots. Orpheus thought he was all big and bad, so he probably thinks he could get away with anything. Phah, well he has another thing coming.
» The stallion hadn't really hung around her very much, but she wasn't complaining. Nor was Annabelle, or anyone else for that matter. The only one she really talked to was Phantom, who wasn't even apart of this herd. Sometimes Mink would sneak out to go see her, who was becoming more of a motherly figure than a friend to her. Ever since Mink had lost her mother to the Zuden, she had felt totally lost and alone. But her mother came back, in a sense, and had been sapping her strength away, and possibly may have killed her if Phantom hadn't come along and helped her. But now her mum's spirit was gone, and she was free of her. And so Phantom became her new mother. But Phantom seemed to be growing bigger everytime she saw her, but the warrior hadn't mentioned being with anyone. But Mink didn't ask. There were some things better left unasked.
» The paint continued to glare at the mare with the stupid smile on her mug. Suddenly, a plan began to form in her mind. Though she had finally let go of her mother's spirit, she hadn't let go of her desire for revenge. To inflict ten fold of what had happened to Tigress onto them, to see how they felt about losing someone they loved. And why miss the opportunity when it was standing trustingly infront of her? Finally, the paint smiled sweetly in return. " Oh, okay, no problem!" she said, gazing at the Zuden's yellow eyes. She glanced down breifly to notice the mare's hooves were intentionally placed on higher ground, away from the lake. She couldn't help but smirk, her mind turning dark. " You don't like water, huh?" she said, her tone slightly mocking. The gray mare frowned at her, her smile disapearing and ears turning back. " Well..no," was her reply. Mink snickered, moving forward until she stopped on the side of the Zuden. " Good."
» The paint squealed and hooked her back under the Zuden mare, and jamed herself upward with as much force as she could, a wicked grin spreading across her maw. The gray mare shrieked in alarm as she was thrown off balance and forced to collect herself in the shallow water. Mink moved fast and pounced, slamming into her again so that she fell into the water. As soon as the Zuden's flesh hit the water, a vast cloud of vapor exploded off of her, envoloping the two briefly in the thick fog. When it cleared, Aithne was glaring up at her with fierce eyes. " You little---Gah!" She cried out as Mink struck her with a slash across her nose, and blood immediatly began trickling down and staining the water crimson. Mink relished the feeling as a wicked grin cracked her muzzle, her teeth glinting as she gazed down into the Zuden's fearful eyes. She was powerless and weak when she was in the water, and there was nothing she would be able to do to fight off Mink until she was out. Mink reared, slicing at the air with her hooves and letting out an echoing scream. "No! I've betrayed them! I'm not like them! Don't--- !"

The ivory mare let out a heavy sigh as she listlessly watched a few snowflakes fall to the ground. So much had happened this past year. It had been one of the most exciting years of Phantom's life. She was not the same horse that she was when she first came to Isola Dei Dei, especially after this year.
When the Arab had come to the isle, she had been young, only five, and gorgeous. It may sound vain, but she knew that she was beautiful. She was from some of the best bloodlines straight out of Arabia. She prided herself on her beauty, as did her owners. She had brought them great success in the competitive sport of Show Jumping. It was becuase of her jumping abilities that she had even come ashore.
Her owners had started to compete interantionally with Phantom instead of just staying in dreary old England where she was from. They had spent a couple weeks in Africa in upper Egypt and then were going to make their way to southern Italy by boat. Then, the rest can be obviously guessed as to what had happened.
When she had arrived she had been a fearless, strong, independent mare. She has a fiery personality and wouldn't let anyone tell her what to do unless she respected them. The only horse she ever came to respect was Fiana. Something about the ebony mare had intruiged her. She immeadiately respected the mare, which was odd since Phantom did not even know why. Perhaps it was because she saw herself in the Orlov Trotter?
Now Phantom's fiery spirit was gone, it died along with Anil and her other warriors when the Zunden launched a surprise attack on Rocas. It left the land in ruins and the herd in disarray. It left Fiana and Torchwood dead as well. Only four or so horses remained, including a few ravens. The land then went to Char, but her brother became jealous and Phantom was the only one keeping it a small feud and not a full blown war. She had found a certain loyalty to Char, mostly because of her loyalty and respect toward her mother.
Then Mink had come into Phantom's life just after she had lost everything near and dear to her. At first she felt it was a duty to make sure the young mare would live, since she found her half dead. Then, she felt a connection with her and they stayed with eachother for a while. They would talk and talk for hours everyday. As much as Phantom hated to admit it, Mink had worked her way into her heart and filled in the gap that had been so maliciously been ripped. Mink made her forget about the faithful warriors she had lost, her leader whom she had loved, and her only and ever true love Anil.
Phantom had been Anil's teacher and commander since he was a warrior. She had thought nothing of him at first but a strong stallion that would benefit Fiana's army. It was onyl when she chose him to be second in command and started training him did she find that he may have been the only other horse she actually felt love for. She had never even admitted her love for him until hours before his death.
Truth be told, Phantom did not even know she loved him. She had never felt a love like that before. She had loved her mother, but only for a short time until she was taken away and and her mother now seemed a distant memory, on the resemblence of a face in a dream. She had felt a bond with her human rider, but once she had been on Isola Dei Dei, her rider too became just a memory. Fiana, she had loved fiercly, but it was a love like one felt for their country or respectable political leader. The love she felt for Anil surprised her a little bit. It was a new feeling and quite frankly, Phantom did not know what to do about it.
As said before, Phantom and Anil had professed their love for one another in a bittersweet moment between the oncoming storm and the previous ambush. Only a couple hours later, they had to fight for their lives. Phantom knew she would pull it of, and she had faith in Anil as well. Then she found him dead and her whole world came crashing down.
A funny thing about death was that it affected a horse in amyn different ways. The reality of it never hit Phantom until a couple days later when it dawned on her that she would never see the buckskin stallion again in her life. She was afraid the he too, like the others, would become a ghost of her past.
She had delt with her grief by wandering around the island and busying herself with new sights and adventures. She had never shed a tear for him, but it hurt to even think about him. Mink took all of that away. She now loved Mink dearly and thought of her as a daughter, which she basically was since the two mares seemed to have adopted eachother into their hearts.
Now Phantom was on her way to see Mink. She had not spoken to her in almost a week. A few weeks ago Phantom and Mink realised that Phantom was with child. Most mares would be excited that they were carrying the foal of their lover. Not Phantom. She wanted a foal just as much as she wanted a flesh eating disease. In her eyes, she already had a daughter who she loved. She couldn't open her heart to another soul. One at a time was enough for her. The more you loved, the more you lost.
Phantom was now dreading the day the little urchin would be born, which she sensed could be any day now. She just couldn't love him or her. Her heart was sealed off to Mink and Mink only. Nevertheless, Phantom would raise the child, but not as a mother would. She would act like a governess to the foal and keep it at some emotional distance as if it were not her child. She just could not do it.
The mare slowed her pace when she entered the land where Mink lived. As much as she did not approve of Mink's living here, she could not do anyhting about it. Phantom would rather have the younger mare in Rocas with her. But she could not force her will upon anyone.
When Phantom finally found Mink, she saw that she was holding a Zunden at bay. Phantom felt proud of her daughter for being able to pull off such a feat. It was not until she got closer she realised that the Zunden was Aithne, the traitor. "Mink stop!" Phantom yelled as she cantered over and stood in between the two mares. "This Zunden speaks the truth, she means you no harm."

{ Close your eyes Re-write the story a new beginning It's not what they said , And it's not what they read. And all the promises they have made us, All have shattered on the ground. } Annabelle | What was that noise? Mink and.. Who was that? Annabelle didn't recognize that other voice. The young mare flicked her ears curiously and trotted forward, to the voices. As she came on the scene, she looked to Mink, flinging her hooves at the grey mare, who Annabelle knew as Aithne, the double spy. She'd been in this herd long enough to know the story, and was horrified that Mink was out to kill their strongest way of winning the war that was in the future.
But Annabelle knew why Mink was doing this, but Aithne wasn't the of the ones who killed her mother. The Zuden wouldn't hurt a fly if she didn't have to.
"MINK! NO!" The Nyfrio was at a gallop by this time, and rammed into Mink as hard as she could, for the mare's own good. "She's on our side!!" Annabelle stood in front of Mink and Aithne, ivories bared and ears tucked back to her skull. "I know why you want to do this, but she's not like that! Aithne isn't one who was with the ones who killed her!" Annabelle walked a couple steps to mink, her voice calming back down. "She wouldn't do that, Mink." The striped mare took a few more steps to Mink, trying her best to calm her down. She reached out to nudge Mink, but pulled back slightly to see what her reaction would be.
It was then that her light blue gaze landed on Phantom. Annabelle flicked her ears, curious at who the pregnant one was. And then a wave of jealousy and anguish hit her like a slap to the face. Why should this mare, so scarred and old, possibly be pregnant? Because someone loves her, fool. And Annabelle looked down, away from the mare, her jaw tightening and her ears laying against her skull. It wasn't fair, that this mare had someone that had loved her enough to let them carry her child, when Yamanu was always cold, so bleak. Life isn't fair. Annabelle sighed. I know that. She told herself.
Annabelle longed, so much, for Yamanu, for someone to love her. You waisting your life on him, young one. Annabelle closed her blue eyes shut, her jaw tightening again. I won't give up on him. She told herself. I never can. And she rose again to look at Mink, but quickly glanced away back to Aithne. She was bleeding.
"Aithne!" Annabelle was at the Zuden's side. Looking over her wounds. She grimaced, noticing how bad off she was. Dammit! Annabelle sighed, and turned back to look at Phantom, but looked away. It hurt too much to look at her. Someone loves her. I know that. I know. Again, she dropped her gaze to Mink, and sighed. Blinking, she stood, not knowing what to do. Her heart, it hurt. Annabelle could feel it, cracked and chipped, and partly cold, but it was still pumping. It wasn't giving up, and neither was Annabelle.
The Nyfrio mutt shook herself out of it, and tried her best to hide her emotions. No one cares. Her jaw tightened, and she walked back over to Aithen. "Do you hurt bad?" She managed to get out, quietly though, trying not to let her voice quaver.

Mink ! » Crack.
» Never before had Mink thought it was such a relishing sound, along with the piercing wail that came along with it, echoeing across the expanse of grassland. The beast under her hooves quit her squirming, and layed still with soft, agonized whimpers. The paint shifted her hooves in the water, the same insane grin plastered on her maw as she gazed down at the pathetic sight. So, this was the Zuden breed. Reduced to ashes when they touched water, and unable to defend themselves. Killing them all off would be a lot easier than she had originally thought. The gray mare below her had her eyes closed, squinted together and her breathing was rapid and labored. Mink lowered her head to examine the mare's side, her forelock falling over her face as her tan eyes skewered the mishapen part of her rip cage. She had broken a good two or three ribs, if not more from the rippling effect of her blow. The paint grinned, and began pawing her hoof, preparing to strike the mare again, spraying water everywhere. Until Phantom suddenly jumped in between them.
» Mink was only faintly surprised that the gray arabian had shown up here. She was more pissed off then anything. She glared at the other horse, her lip curling back in an angry snarl. Her chance to take upon her mother's death was ruined. She pinned her ears at Phantom, her tan eyes flashing. "Did they care when my mother meant them no harm? Move, Phantom!" she snarled, and was about to charge the warrior when she heard another voice screaming at her. Mink looked up, her mouth gaped as she saw a blurr of horse and suddenly Annabelle crashed into her, throwing the paint off balance and nearly knocking her over. She quickly regained herself and turned to meet Annabelle who was baring her teeth at her. The mare mared her teeth in return, huffing with her ears pinned to her skull. She barely listened to the other mare, and was calculating the best way to get past her and Phantom long enough to kill the Zuden; she was so close! Not a single sane thought ran through her head and stood there, trembling with fury, only just containting herself as she thought of what to do next. Mother! I need your help with this! wailed her mind. Her heart thudded as she felt a sudden presence, but all it said was Let it be.. » The Zuden had opened her eyes and was looking up at Annabelle, her teeth gritted in pain. She attempted to raise her head but failed, and layed it back down, wincing. " My-my ribs," she moaned, gasping as she tried to move. " They're broken.." Mink's lip curled, the trembling of her bodice increasing like a volcano about to erupt. Her mother wasn't helping her, Annabelle wasn't on her side, and Phantom wasn't on her side. She began to see red, and suddenly, she exploded into a wild screaming fury. Her desire for revenge took over, consuming her body and controlling her muscles. Her brain seemed to shut off. There were horses in her way from getting to the mare on the ground. And then suddenly, she lashed out at them with bared ivories. [/blockquote] Aithne ! ooc; o: characters: Mink & Aithne muse: good :3 music: revenge - mindless self indulgence

Phantom assumed that the young mare would stop when she intervened, but she was quickly proven wrong. The mare was obviously felt much more passionately about the Zunden than Phantom had come to perceive. Surprisingly Phantom could understand, but now was not the time for sympathizing with others. This was literally a life and death situation for Mink and Aithne.
Phantom's head shot up as she heard a voice coming from behind Mink. It was one of the mare's who lived in Mink herd. Phantom was about to yell at her to leave them be, not wanting to drag an innocent bystander into the scuffle, until the mare tried talking to Mink as well. Phantom silently thank the fae for coming along. Two was always better than one, especially when trying to prevent something like this from escalating.
The grey mare flattened her ears against her skull when Mink told her to move. Normally Phantom doted upon Mink and would do almost anything. This was the only exception. "No. I will not move." she said firmly, her vocals raising to prove her point. She could see the anger and pain in Mink's eyes as she looked upon Aithne with unbridled loathing.
Her eyes then flicked to Phantom and looked at her in almost the same manner. The Mink Phantom knew would not look at her in such a murderous way. Anger had taken hold of her and was causing her to make these rash decisions. This was the rage talking, not Mink.
Mink had asked a question about the Zunden and her mother that was most likely to be taken as a rhetorical question, but Phantom answered anyway. "And you think they haven't wronged me?" she asked with a sardonic laugh. "You're telling me about this?" she spoke again, this time her voice rose in volume. "I lost so much because of those bastards. I lost my army, my dear cousin, my leader whom I loved, and Anil." she said dryly. If only she could get Mink to see why she should leave Aithne alone.
"This mare, this Zunden you mean to kill, may be of the same race who murdered the ones dear to us, but she, she is not like them. I would bet my own life on that. She is the only one who holds they key to how we can finally rid ourselves once and for all of the ones who did do this to your mother, my army, my Anil." she spoke fiercely.
"You think I don't want revenge for that? Well I do. I know who and what will help me get that revenge. This creature you mean to execute in your rage is someone who can help. If it were any other Zunden but her, I would be right next to you, helping you slay it. So please, all I ask of you is to stand down. I know it is your blind fury talking and affecting your actions. I have been there before. But you can overcome this Mink. And if you chose not to, so be it, I will defend Aithne here with my life since I know she had good in her heart and wants nothing but to help you and I with the destruction of the Zunden breed."
Next thing Phantom knew, Mink was knocked to the ground by this other mare who had been speaking earlier. Phantom shot her a thankful glance and then returned her attention to Mink. She was genuinely concerned for her faux daughter. She had never seen her like this before, and quite frankly, it scared Phantom a little bit that such a sweet mare could turn into something so savage under the right circumstances.
Phantom turned her crown as she heard Aithen complaining about her ribs. Broken no doubt. The grey mare barely had time to grimace before she felt her flesh being tugged and torn by a set of strong teeth. She swung her head back around, only to see that is was Mink trying to get to Aithne again.
The Arab let out a loud scream. It was not one of pain, but one of surprise. Not surprise of being attacked, but hoping to surprise her attacker. Phantom had been in quite enough battles in her long life to know the loops. Fighting was like a dangerous dance to Phantom. She always had the advantage when she was leading.
The fae closed her orbs and tucked her head to her chest as she pushed against Mink with all her strength, which was more then normal due to the sudden adrenaline rush. She pushed with her hind legs, hoping to move Mink across the muddy ground and out to a more open area where she could keep the mare at bay, or back her against some trees to hold her back. Phantom knew that even though Mink was furious, it made her actions mechanical and unthinking. Phantom could easily predict how to handle situations when her opponent was like that. It was like fighting an advanced automaton.
"Mink." she said softly, hoping to coax Mink into calming down. "Honey please. I really don't want to hurt you, or you to hurt yourself." she said looking into the mare's eyes. "Please." she pleaded again with a look of sadness. This could damage a horse, ebingin this emotional state. Phantom would rather see herself ruined than her 'daughter'.

The fire lord had been contently grazing on the dying grasses in Fuoco. Since it was on the edge of winter, the Zunden were stocking p on their last good fill of food. There was not much good food in Fuoco to start with and the winter only made it worse. At least the volcano in the land made it warm for the horses living there. That was the only perk in winter, no snow in the land. Zunden hated snow, and rain, and anything including more water than they needed to survive.
Aiden's audits flicked as he heard the call of a phoenix. What did they want now? Eagles and phoenixes were the only two birds Aiden could stand. He actually liked to tlak to them, just as those wretched horses elsewhere favoured those flying rats; ravens.
A few seconds later the bird landed on the ground near him and spoke to him about Aithen. She seemed to be in a bit of trouble in one of the other lands. Aiden put his ears against his head as he heard this. Couldn't she even fend for herself? Once again, he would have to take time out of his day to save her sorry ass. She was lucky that she was a Zunden because if she were anyhting else, Aiden highly doubted anyone at all would help her.
A good hour later, Aiden slowed his gait to a trot as he entered the land where the scuffle was. The sight that he stumbled upon did not shock him. He always knew Aithne to be weak but this, this was just pathetic, even for her.
The stallion let out a heavy sigh and strode up to the group of horses. "What is the meaning of this?!" he boomed, fire dancing around his legs. He would teach these horses not to mess with him and his herd. Then, once he took care of them, he would take care of Aithne.

{ Close your eyes Re-write the story a new beginning It's not what they said , And it's not what they read. "You try to get to her, and you'll with you hadn't Mink. Your one of my closet friends, but I swear I'll hurt you if I have to." The younger mare snarled, her ivories bared threateningly.
This side of Annabelle had never shown before, but it was full out now.
And then Mink lashed at Phantom, and Annabelle reared, flailing, aiming to knock a hard blow at Mink. She came down, ivories searching for flesh.
That set the quiet, reserved mare off. "Mink, you don't want to do this." Annabelle hissed, her blue eyes savage. She growled, blocking the way to Aithne. "I don't want to hurt you, but if you try again to hurt these others, I will." Snarling, she shook her two-toned mane, her hair standing on end.
A cold wind sent a chill through her, but she wasn't worried about the cold. Annabelle was worried about Aithne, but she couldn't do anything at the moment, not with Mink like this.
And then, as if it was the devil himself, the fire lord showed up. Annabelle's eyes blazed, watching as he lit his legs on fire. She nodded to Aithne, her ears still tucked against her skull. But her attention was taken away from him as Mink tried again to get past Phantom. Annabelle gave a feral snarl, her ivories bared.
And then, the Nyfrio gave a dangerous grin to Aiden, obviously devious. "Just stay, wait until she calms down, and I'll explain. Wouldn't wanna get your pretty little coat all wet." Her savage blue eyes laughed, but her lips had a solemn line.

“I believe I’m the one who should be asking that,” the wind hissed as it blew between Aiden’s ears. The devil of these lands who cast such a cross gale came from the shadows behind the fire lord with ears taut against his skull. The creature scoffed as he saw Aiden’s legs aflame. “I suggest you calm down, oh great fire lord,” he said with a mixture of threat and obvious mockery in his praise. “A battle on my turf might very well be your demise.” Orpheus knew his herd had some very strong players in the elemental field, and Aiden was surely outnumbered.
The painted halfling’s gaze momentarily drifted towards his mares along with the pregnant Rocas and injured Zunden. He had heard bits of the story through the wind but had not had time to really get the details when it told of a fight amongst the females. He had urgently returned to his lands to break it up, that was when Aiden appeared.
Noting Mink’s rage towards the Zunden, Orpheus casually moved between the group of mares and the fire lord. Despite how cruel and selfish he seemed the Inferno brute would not let one of his mares get hurt by an enemy if he could help it.
Desdemona had been under Yamanu’s care for the last week, and she would be lying if she said it had been any fun. Her brother, while distant and somewhat solemn, was not devious or cold-hearted and certainly not into the mischievous things the filly loved so much. As she grazed in the distance the wind (from which her diluted blood could only hear murmurs from) whispered of her father. He had to be back in Inferno! The young mare squealed with glee as she took off in the direction from which the wind had spoken. Upon arrival on the scene there was an eerie tension in the air which kept the young one from squealing with joy in sight of her father. Rather, upon reprimanding side glance of her father, she stood back behind the group nearest to her half-sister, Annabelle – but, she certainly was not happy about it.
When his half-sister took off in glee, Yamanu could not help but sneer. Part of him wanted to let the little devilish spawn wander off – get herself killed if it came down to it. But, deep down, Yamanu would never feel right if he had let the young mare die on his watch. He wasn’t cold-hearted enough to not care, hell, his father wasn’t either when it came down to it.
Yamanu showed up moments after his sister. His ears had been closed to the wind, having become a silent foe to his element and was thus in shock by the scene. His nostrils quivered uneasily although his eyes betrayed no emotion. He glanced to be sure his sister was staying in place before quietly moving to Annabelle’s side. He cast his childhood companion a quick glance as if to be sure she was unharmed although he took no further action but to stare down the enemy.
Another pair of eyes observed the scene but never approached. He and his feathered friend were more concerned with the Rocas Arabian intruder than the fire lord. It looked like now might be a good time to head back to his true home.

Mink ! » The painted mare was caught off guard as Phantom suddenly screamed, tan eyes suddenly ringed with white as she let the gray arabian go, the coppery pang of blood dripping into her maw. And then a sudden pain exploded from her shoulder, causing Mink to whip her head around with a snort and spy Annabelle sinking her teeth into her flesh. She reached to bite the younger filly back, until the gray warrior slammed into her bodice. Mink grunted, gritting her teeth as she was pushed back, hooves sliding against the slick, muddy ground. The arabian was strong and battle-hardened, and frankly, she was no match for her. But "Mink" didn't see that, and began calculating how to get through again now she had two layers of horses to get through. She paused briefly to look at the gray arab as she spoke to her, her voice pleading. But it didn't register, and she was about to attack the mare again, but a booming voice caught her attention, and her tan eyes spotted the Fire Lord himself.
» The sight of him shocked her back into reality was a slight jump. She blinked and looked at Phantom, her eyes wide, before she looked back at the Zuden stallion with his legs a-flame. And suddenly as if on que, Orhpeus arrived, along with his son and daughter. It was a strange occurance. And then that was when the gray Zuden rose to her feet.
---
» The fight that broke out between the three mares alarmed Aithne, a white ring forming around her iris as she gazed up at the three. The feeling was unexplainable that these horses were fighting to keep her alive, but it was shortlived when she remembered they only had to defend her because the other was trying to kill her. The painted mare seemed insane, but whatever the Zuden had done to her mother must have been very bad. Gritting her teeth, the mare eventually rolled herself onto her belly, her whole right side soaked with water. Her nostrils flared as she waited for her side to quit smarting, but an angry but very familiar voice called out, and suddenly, Aithne felt the cold.
» Luckily, Orpheus happened to arrive only a few seconds later, and she felt a little bit safer. At least now she'd have a couple more minutes to prepare for a fight incase it broke out. Her head turned and she eyed the fire lord with yellow eyes, her face suddenly composed into solid coldness. She only glanced up as two other unknown horses joined the chaos. With strong concentration, she rose to her feet, holding the screech of pain down her throat. She swallowed and turned towards the stallion. She took a deep breath before her wounds suddenly caught fire as the heat worked quickly to heal her. With another crack, her ribs were mended back together. Days on end by herself had resulted in the mare discovering and mastering more and more of her powers, and she had discovered with fire, once thought to cause only distruction, could also heal. Forests burnt down my fires were known to grow back bigger and stronger. So why wouldn't it help in her case?
» After it was done, the fire suddenly died, but left a pink scar across her face. Aithne ignored it and glared at Aiden, raising her head and pinning her ears. She decided that it was due time that she broke the ties with the Fire herd. She had all she needed to defeat them, and frankly, she thought they were forsaken. "I suggest you leave, sir," she said, her voice leering at him. He looked extremely discusted to had found her beaten in the pond, but she had been caught off guard. Now she knew to watch her back, even the friendliest of places. One ear was directed towards the group by her, and the other towards Aiden. She walked forward towards him, carrying herself highly as she said, "Its over. Everything about the herd, they know. " The gray Zuden smirked, giving a laugh. "You sir, have been decieved."

Phantom gritted her teeth as she attempted to keep Mink back. She certainly was a very determined young mare. She was still trying to get after the Zunden mare, but Phantom was just as determined, if not more so than Mink was. The mare may be a preganant old mare, but she could put up a hell of a fight.
"Mink!" she yelled again in the mare's face. She had to get Mink's mind to register that she was there, trying to prevent her from doing any further damage. From previous experience, Phantom knew that Mink's mind was easily occupied and taken over. Not a strong point at all. It also did not help that she was so stubborn.
A fear nagged at the Arab about Mink's real mother. What if she was back? Possessing her daughter's fragile mind, making her act this way; so violently. This was definitely not in Mink's nature to act likethis, but then again anger did funny things to people, as did love. Phantom supposed this was a mix of both. Mink had loved her birth mother dearly when she had been alive and had every right to be furious with the Zunden for taking her mother away from her and cutting their time together short. It was quite tragic really. Phantom figured that what was possessing Mink now was a mixture of love and devotion for her memory of a mother and the hate for what caused her mother to be such a memory. In a way, this made Phantom feel all alone again. Yes, she knew that Mink loved her, but would she act this way to avenge an untimely death of Phantom herself?
Now is not the time for this Phantom! she mentally told hereslf as she snapped back to the sad reality that she was unfortunately faced with at the moment. The mare snorted and pushed her head roughly onto Mink, literally trying to knock some sense into her. "Listen to me!" she hissed in a dangerous voice. "You need to stop Mink. You need to." she told her sternly with a bit of desperation. Was anyhting going to get through her thick skull?
Phantom's chocolate eyes flicked to the side as she saw Annabelle Helping Aithne and still trying to help her talk to Mink. "She looks like she can stand on 'er own!" Phantom yelled at Annabelle. "Could you please come over here an' help me with Mink?!" she asked. It might have come across as being a bit mean, but Phantom did not care. She wasn't angry at all with Annabelle, just very frustrated about haveing to hold Mink back and trying to talk some sense into her. Phantom just now realised that being pregnant did, in fact, take quite a toll on her petite body.
A new scent then wafted over to Phantom's flaring nostrils. Who the hell? Her question was almost immeadiately answered as she heard the crackle of fire and the booming voice of non other than Aiden himself. Great. The mare put her ears flat against her head. This is not what she wanted. At all. Why couldn't he just leave them be? Phantom did not want to start anything. Not now, not here.
Then, to make matters all the more worse, the leader of this land, whose name had escaped Phantom, happened to show up. Fan-bloody-tastic. Things just had to get worse didn't they?

Aiden whipped his head around as he heard the voice of Orpheus. That prick had quite the reputation. That did not phase Aiden any little bit. Right now he was just concerned with what the hell was going on with Aithne. She had caused him too much trouble this past year. It was time to get a hold of things with her sorry existance and try to set things straight. Aiden intended to do just so.
The stallion glared at Orpheus as he so arrogantly strutted past him. "I'm not looking for a battle." Aiden hissed. "I just want those things away from her." he said motioning his head in the direction of Aithne and the other horses. "Now if you excuse me all powerful lord and master of this beautiful land, I will just calmly get my herd member here and we will be on our way and out of your mane." Aiden said as he strode over to Aithen. Of course he was not looking to start something, but if someone else did he would be much more than happy to finish it.
"Aithne, c'mon." he demanded, not caring that she was wounded and dripping wet. What to do with her? Aiden then figured he would call a herd meeting and have the herd members decide what they should do to an appearant traitor like sweet, little Aithne. It seemed like a good idea to the fire lord.

Mink ! » Aithne glanced between Orpheus and Aiden as they spoke, her ears flicking. Her attention turned back to Aiden as he told her it was time to go. God knew what he was going to do with her once they returned back to Fuoco. The gray mare gave the stallion a nod of aknowledgement, but turned and walked over to Phantom, giving the painted mare a look. She seemed to had regained her sanity, and was only gazing at her oddly. She spoke to Phantom, for she was the one she knew the most out of the whole lot. "Phantom, if I don't come back, gather as many elemental allies as you can. And prepare them for the worst," she murmured to her, her eyes slightly sad. After that, she regained her composure and turned, her head raised proudly as she strode back over to her Lord. "Of course, sir." Knowing the cruelty of the Fire Herd, it was probably going to be the last time she ever left Fuoco again.
