Aiden. An evil smirk crossed his face when he saw the mare gasp. He tilted his crown a bit at her words, a bigger smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "So I've been told." he said before he jogged past her, trying to whip his tail in the water to soak her even more. Dare he say it, but, he was actually havinf fun. Genuine fun.
The stallion rounded back, only to be met by a wall of water. He threw his crown up as the salt stung his eyes. And that was why he was a Fire horse, not a water horse. At least the water was warm. Zunden did quite like the warm.
Aiden was pulled form his meaningless thoughts as Malice's vocals sounded out again. His brow raised a bit as he asked "Is that so? Well I guess I'll have to show you how so very wrong you are." With that he lunged forward at her, an almost malicious grin on his visage.

Nostrils quivered as she watched him react to the water, and she smirked, shaking her body slightly as she waited for him to charge after her. Malice's feet pranced upon the sand, and as soon as he lauched forward toward her, she bolted away, sending out a sharp whinny, throwing her head up. Muscles moved fluently under her ash brown body, as she galloped along the sand, quite aware that the sand could give way under her weight and cause her to break a leg, or her neck. She moved around a rock beautifully, her ears flicked forward, tail streaming like a flag behind her body.
It seems that you are wrong, her voice carried along the wind as she ran, nostrils flared as the salty air entered them. It was exhilarating to be running once again, running from nothing now, not having to worry about wolves or any other predator that might want to kill her and consumer her. Slowly, fire crept along her legs, dancing across her body, as she ran along the shoreline, clearly enjoying herself in the setting sun.
She stopped suddenly, as the fire disappeared from her body. Crimson eyes looked out across the surface of the water, to the setting sun, her ears flicking forward ever so slightly. The sunset. It made her miss her mother; made her sad once again. She sighed, glancing away from the sun, to her hooves, tears welling in her eyes. She didn't know where these tears were coming from. She was a dark, damit. Darks didn't cry!

Aiden. The stallion let out a loud whinny as he bolted right after the mare. This reminded him of when they were much younger. They used to play games like this all the time. They also happened to be the resident trouble makers. They loved to terrorize the other foals and the other small animals that inhabited the area.
Aiden increased his speed as he heard Malice yell something over her shoulder. He couldn't make out what she said over the sound of the wind rushing by his face, his own hoof beats, and the surf, but he was sure that it had something to do with his challenge. His new found burst of speed brought him up to Malice's flank. With a smirk he stretched out his maw and nipped her on the side.
The Fire Lord had to swerve to avoid hitting a suddenly stopped Malice. Aiden shook his crown and tried to regain his balance all while giving Malice a very odd look. He walked up to her side once again and noticed that she was ... crying. "Malice?" he questioned in a very awkward manner. "What's wrong?"

As Aiden came up to her side, Malice turned her head away, shaking it slightly as if to shake the tears away. Clearing her throat, she straightened slightly, looking toward the Lead once again. Oh, nothing. Just had something in my eye, she spoke faintly, and a smile forced it's way upon her maw. She reached out, tapping her muzzle upon his shoulder gently, reassuringly. She moved forward, stepping gently across the sand, toward the water's edge once more. She did like the water, it was soothing and warm. Though, she knew it could change in a heartbeat, into a violent animal, drowning whatever strayed into it.
Malice flicked her ears forward, as a gull soared overhead, the sun a mere sliver above the horizon now, the darkness sweeping across the skies to meet the dying light. Stars were following slowly, peeking out and glittering. They reflected off the water's surface, as if tiny fairies had appeared to dance upon the sea. It was an amazing sight, something Malice hadn't seen in her life of solitude with her mother. The ashy brown mare turned her head to look at the stallion, and her smile was more soft, her eyes following suit. Something about her ... had changed. It seemed as if this beautiful night had brought out a more softer side to the more violent mare.
Something about the way the night was soothed Malice, as she turned her head away from Aiden once more, gazing across the sea. Sure, she missed her mother, but she was a big girl, she could fend for herself. Her mane and tail moved with the gentle sea breeze, her forelock sweeping across her crimson eyes, as the night was now settling in, the sun having disappeared from the sky, the moon taking it's place.

Aiden.
Aiden gave Malice a very strange look as she said she just had something in her eye. He didn't believe it, not for one second. Plus he had caught a glimpse of the tears coming from her other eye as well. Zunden didn't cry. It was just a fact, so why was she? It was obvious that she was ashamed of it and did not want Aiden finding out.
The night was creeping up very quickly over the horizon. Sunsets were always beautiful on Isola Dei Dei, no matter where you were. The stag's maroon optics flicked to the side as he saw Malice turn her crown to look at him. And just as quickly as she had looked, she was facing the sea once again, enjoying to warm, salty breeze.
"What's wrong?" Aiden asked again, still not giving up on finding out from when she 'had something in her eye' earlier. "I know something is bothering you. Zunden don't normally cry."

She just stared out at sea, flicking her ears back and forth a few times. Finally, she sighed and looked to the Lead, her crimson eyes sad. Aiden, you do not need to worry yourself with my petty emotions. Feelings that I shouldn't even be harboring. Well, I guess I should be, but ... whatever... her voice drifted off, and she looked down at her hooves again. Tears didn't appear in her eyes this time, she held them back, and she looked at Aiden once more. It's only my mother, she spoke gently, and flicked her ears uneasily. Okay, so she didn't want to admit it. Not at all. That her mother's death was bothering her. |

Aiden.
Aiden kept an emotionless look on his face as he stared at the mare. She kept rambling on that he should not care about her and her emotions. The stallion fought back the urge to roll his eyes at her. He may not seem like the caring type, but she was part of his herd and his friend. Why shouldn't he care? She should be honoured. She was one of the only two horses he cared about. The other was his daughter Firefly.
His audtis flicked as she said it was her mother. Aiden's brow furrowed a bit at this statement. Obvisouly this mare was close to her mother. Aiden had hated his mother and father. "What about her?" he asked, curisou to know why she was upset about her mother.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#54372C]Malice merely shook her head, yet again, and turned to look at the sea. Her stupid emotions, ones that she could care less about, was ruining this nice night. Just.. miss her, I suppose, the ashy mare spoke softly, and let a gentle smile cross her maw once more. She breathed in deeply, the salty air calming her down a lot, and she moved forward a little, so that she was standing in the water. Crimson eyes watched as the sun fully disappeared behind the horizon, and her crimson eyes flicked to the stars above, admiring the gentle twinkles that each one emitted. She flicked her tail slowly behind her, and glanced to Aiden, ears flicked forward. Malice didn't move, just stood there, half-way in the water, wondering what they were going to do now.
Above, a gull cried out, surfing along the wind. Malice's attention was drawn to it, and for once, she didn't feel like roasting the bird from the inside out. That small smile was still upon her maw, as she flared her nostrils at the bird. |

Aiden.
Aiden just kept his maroon optics trained on Malice after she spoke. He could never understand why anyome would miss their mother. He certainly did not miss hiw own. But, he could see that the thought of her mother pained Malice greatly and as much as he hated to admit it, he cared for her.
He looked up to the sky at the same seagull Malice was watching. He hated those beach rats. Normally he would fry them without a second thought. This evening he didn't feel like destrying anything, it was nice just like this.
"How'd she die?" he asked looking back out to the sea. Sometimes if the winds were right, he could catch a glimpse of a boat. He liked looking at those human contraptions, the intrigued him. Probably just as much as airplanes overhead did.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#54372C]As Aiden asked her, the gull flew out of the ashy mare's line of sight, and she flared her nostrils again. Well. She went crazy. Out of her mind crazy. It was getting to the point where she was seeing things that weren't there, speaking to invisible things. In her final sane moment, she told me that if she were to ever get as bad as that, to put her out of her misery. Malice stopped speaking, thinking she was going to cry, but tears didn't well up in her crimson eyes. So she stared out across the water, the stars reflecting on the water's surface. It was a stormy night when I decided that the pain of having an insane mother was too much. While she wasn't looking, I summoned all my strength, and killed her with fire. The look on her face, as she lay dying, burning to death, will always be imprinted within my mind. Her dying words to me... was... "Thank you."...
The mare's words drifted off, as the sun was nearly set now, the sky a navy blue with the gentle twinkling of stars. Crimson eyes left the water, looking above, just knowing her mother was looking down on her right now. What did she think? Was she mad that Malice had killed her? Shaking her head, the Zunden mare looked to Aiden, and flicked her tail. But, that is all in the past. I can only worry about the present and the future. The past is better left... forgotten... I guess. Nostrils quivered, and she moved to Aiden's side, placing her nose upon his shoulder gently.
Thank you for bringing me here. She moved away from him, toward where the ground of Fuoco began, wanting to be by herself. |

Aiden.
The Fire Lord focused on the mare as she spoke. He had always been fond of Malice's mother when they were younger. In fact, Malice's mother was more like a mother to him than his own was. It actually caused Aiden to feel a true sense of loss, not something he was used to. Even though he hadn't thought about the mare's mother in a long time, it dawned on him that he would never get a chance to see her again. Oh well, all good things always came to an end.
"I'm so sorry." Aiden said. He was being serious, not just saying it to break the silence. He stood and satred out into the horizon for a few minutes, lost in his own thoughts, before he realised Malice was closer to him and thanking him for bringing her to this spot. He turned his crown to look at her, a hint of confusion on his face. "You're welcome." he said with a bob of his head.
The stag cast a glance over his shoulder as Malice turned to leave him. Should he stay here and let her go? Or should he follow her? He found it best to stay where he was and let her go off on her own. With that settled, the stallion broke into a canter and set off down the beach, using his powers to create a trail of fiery hoofprints.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#54372C]She was glad to know that Aiden understood how she felt, and she smiled softly to herself. Perhaps she was just as insane as her mother had been with all these swinging emotions? Ears flicked gently as she melted into the shrubbery, her tail swaying happily behind her. It wasn't that Malice was wanting to be alone, she felt Aiden needed to have some time away from her. Yes, she would like to have spent more time with him, but she knew, from their childhood together, that Aiden wasn't exactly the horse to spends hours upon endless hours with. The movements of the ashen mare quickened, as she trotted along, the deep red markings on her rump seeming to darken more. Fire danced along her legs, a relaxing feeling spreading through her body.
Malice stopped near where they had first started their journey previously in the day, and looked at where the burnt rabbit had been. A scavenger had already come along and picked it up. Crimson eyes looked to the sky, wondering if it was her eagle companion who had dropped down after they left and picked it up. Nostrils quivered, but it wasn't the scent of a bird that she picked up. It was more canine, and ears tilted back against the mare's skull. What were wolves doing in Fuoco? Usually they found it very unpleasant in such conditions, so they steered clear of the territory. She stomped a forehoof upon the ground, cursing under her breath. If this wolf was still hungry, he could come back.
But that wasn't what worried Malice. She could handle herself against wolves. She had before, when she was living with her mother. It was the fact that Aiden didn't know a wolf was wandering around in his lands. If there were any other foals in Fuoco, Malice doubted this however, this wolf could try to pick it off. The mare turned sharply, heading back toward the beach, ears flicked back against her skull. She was at the beach in no time, her mind reeling. Aiden, Malice called, hoping the stallion was still running across the sands.
Night had taken full control of the sky, the stars sparkling in a blanket of navy velvet. Malice looked up at the stars quickly, captivated by them, then tore away to look for the Lead once again. AIDEN. Urgency stuck to her voice like thorns to her coat, and she couldn't shake the feeling that the wolf was stalking her now. |

Aiden.
The stallion had just finished his run when he heard Malice's voice. His auds perked as his maroon optics danced across the border of Fuoco. Where was she? What was wrong? The stag snorted and broke into a trot once he caught a glimpse of her.
In a matter of seconds, he was by her side looking at her with concern. "What's wrong Malice?" he asked. What could be so wrong that Malice, a fairly powerful Zunden, was calling for help? As far as Aiden knew, none of the other elemental herds had large numbers.
Or had they? Aiden really did not have any spies around, except for Aithne and the failed Shadow Dancer. But did any other herd pose any threat to the Zunden? No. None of them were powerful enough. There always were the oddballs of each herd who would have strong control over their powers, and that may be challenge for a lone Zunden.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#54372C]Finally, the stallion appeared! Malice's ears flicked back, almost as if she were upset with him. However, the fiery mare could never be upset with Aiden. He had learned that when they were younger. The ashen mare flared her nostrils, the canid smell still lingering in the air. Aiden. There was a wolf upon the territory. I was going back to where I had killed a rabbit earlier, and it's body was gone. I thought an eagle or something had picked it up, but then I could smell the wolf scent. It was fairly fresh, too. I'm afraid that we have to be wary about where we travel, and what the herd is doing and if they are alright. All this was rushed out of her mouth in less than a minute, and she would be quite surprised if he had actually heard anything from the ramblings.
Overhead, an eagle cry drew her attention from the stallion before her, and she looked up. Nor was back from his mission. Mistress Malice! I have news! |
[/b] The eagle landed between the two horses, bowing it's head to Malice, then looking at Aiden. M'lord Aiden! Pleasure to see you![/i] A snort escaped the ashen mare, and the eagle turned it's attention back to her. What do you want, Nor? Or have you merely come to waste Aiden's and I's time? The eagle shook his head frantically, and ruffled his wings, almost as if he were uncomfortable. Mistress Malice and Lord Aiden, Rocas has a new Queen! Bullet has left Rocas, and Char is now the new Queen. And it seems as if their numbers have dwindled vastly![/i] The eagle hopped back a few feet, noticing a smile crossing the mare's maw. She turned to Aiden, an evil glimmer entering her eyes. Aiden... do you realize what this means? May I go,[/i] Nor interrupted, and Malice waved him off with his tail. Nor was grateful to be dismissed, and flew off. Malice kept her crimson eyes upon the Lead, that evil glimmer still in her eyes. It's whatever you want to do, Aiden-dear, she had put emphasis on the dear part, and her tail flicked slowly behind her body, another look crossing her face, masking the devilsh smirk and glitter in her eyes that had been there previously. Aiden.
Aiden tilted his head a bit as the mare rattled off a a mile a minute. Luckily Aiden had heard everything that she had said. "A wolf, eh?" he mused, as his orbs moved over the landscape as if he was expecting the wolf to appear in plain sight.
Wolves were a common problem on Isola Dei Dei. Not for the Zunden though. They normall terrorized the other herds, not elementals. It was far too dangerous for them to invade elemental lands. At least there were no foals in Fuoco for Aiden to worry about. Firefly was three years old and was perfectly capable fending for herself, as every other in his herd should be.
"Well," he began. "I say we let the other herd members know, and when they see one they can just kill it. Then it won't cause anymore trouble in Fuoco." Aiden said with a small nod of his head. Personally Aiden couldn't care less about the wolf. He would just forget it because if he ever saw it he could get rid of it in a minute or so. When did Zunden get so worried about such mundane things as a wolf in the land? Now if it were another elemental in the land, then that would be a different story.
Aiden opened his mouth to say something when he heard the screech of an eagle. The eagles had always been allies to the Zunden, mostly out of fear more than loyalty. Although now days, they were becoming more loyal to the Zunden.
The Fire Lord stood quietly while the eagle spoke to Malice. So Rocas was falling apart? Things seemed to be looking better and better. As it looked now, everything seemed to be going in Aiden's favour.
Aiden glanced at Malice when she asked if he knew what this meant. He hoped that that had been a rhetorical question. As far as he saw it, he would leave Rocas to fall even further into chaos by itself, since they seemed to be doing a good job of that themselves already.
While Rocas would be occupied with it's own internal affairs, Aiden could move onto the next herd and work on breaking them and so on. On his way back he would make quick work of what was left of Rocas.
The stag was pulled out of his thoughts by Malice's voice. "I shall think of something." he said quietly. He quickly glanced to Malice, who had an odd gleam in her eyes. He tilted his head a bit and lifted his brown in question, wondering what she had in mind.
