A most foreign bugle sounded atop the peaks of Roca's central plateau. The creature was, indeed, equine, but it was not Fiana nor Torchwood. Rather, stood the bastard colt of Fiana's in the place where he'd seen his mother resound a similar call many times before. Yes, Bullet was calling the masses of the Roca herd to him. Bittersweet news on the tip of his tongue. Fiana and her mate had been slain, and for all he knew, Char too was dead in the wilderness where he had 'accidentally' lost her. That left him the heir to the throne - King or Rocas! A smug smirk managed it's way across his kissers at the very thought of those words. Yet, he could not help but feel remorse for his mother's fiery demise.
The great stallion shook his crown as a more fierce and urgent bugle hit the air. It had been a while since the herd had met and with all the elemental attacks and tough conditions, Bullet could not be sure who, if any remained. The ravens had done their best to keep the stallion informed, but they were meeting their own difficulties. Raccoons eating their eggs were no longer the biggest threat to the feathered alliance of Rocas and Liberta. Now, both the fire and night herd had taken out several of their kind in effort to prevent such trades of information amongst the normal herds.
In the distance a lone mare trekked slowly behind on of the aforementioned feathered ones. Dear, lost Char had finally been able to make it back home. At one point, Rune had been on the journey with her. Stops for rest along with close calls with foreign equines (including elementals) had made the journey longer and more chaotic than either could expect. The young lass hoped her older companion was not far off, but the raven refuted her the option of stopping to look for him. The squawking creature was none too trusting of the stallion whom she had seen Char encounter in a most forbidden territory. And, it believed Fiana (which it was yet to be informed of her decease) would have not been all too happy or approving of the new stallion and the tale. Char still hoped her friend would show up, having grown quite comfortable in his company.
The noise of Bullet's bugle confused the mare and raven alike. Both quickened their pace, thoughts having temporarily moved beyond thought of dear Rune.
OoC}} I need everyone in the Rocas herd to make an appearance. This way I can clean up the member list and all that jazz. Thaanks!!!! <3

Ears flicked nervously atop the stallion's head, as he soon made it to Rocas' borders, nostrils quivering slightly. However, the urge to see that Char was in the safety of her home drove Halloween's brother over the border, his tail flicking slowly behind him. Ears stayed alert atop his head, in case someone decided to ambush him while on his path. The sound of another stallion met his ears, and nostrils quivered once again. Who in the world was that? He picked up his pace to a trot, his body moving through the brush at a decent pace.
Finally, he came upon a stallion standing where, he could guess, that the leader usually stood to call the herd together. And there was Char, looking up at the one who called the herd together in curiousity. Rune ventured to her side, nudging her shoulder gently. I am here, miss Char. I'm only here to see that you're safe at home, then I will be on my way... unless you wish for me to stay. |

Phantom The mare lifted her head from grazing as she heard a call echo through the land. It wasn't that of her leader, Fiana, but of Bullet, Fiana's son. Something told Phantom that she would not hear her leader's call again. Or her cousin, Torchwood's. Being the closest herd to the Zunden, Rocas had taken quite a beating. She knew one to be dead for sure and that was Anil.
Phantom shook her head, trying not to think about him. The past was the past. She should be thinking about what was to come. It was no doubt that that Zunden would be back for more. She needed to build up her army again. A thought crossed her mind that maybe she could form one out of horses from her herd's alliances as well. It would certainly give Rocas and advantage.
Once the Arab arrived at the meeting place, she only saw three other horses. Bullet was there, waiting for memebers to show up. Phantom gave him an odd look before settling herself in a spot as she waited for the meeting to begin.
A few minutes later, the young Char came into view as well as a stallion that Phantom did not recognise. Phantom felt old in this small group. They were so youthful and beautiful. Phantom was around fourteen now and she was far from beautiful. All the years she had served as a warrior had not been kind to her. She still had her elegent Arab-like body structure, but other than that she really did not have much. Her coat was dirty and scarred up in too many places to cout. Her hooves were sturdy, but not pretty to look at. Her mane and tall were uneven lengths and they did not grow much these days.
The mare sighed as she glanced around with her chocolate orbs. So many things were changing. She wished that the island could be just as it was when she had arrived all those years ago.

The sound of approaching hooves drew the young stallion’s eyes away from the horizon. As the equine’s dark gaze caught peripheral sight of two silhouettes, a both familiar and alien scent wafted across his nostrils causing him whip around. To his surprise, his sister and a foreign stag stood only meters away. He snorted briefly and his expression began worsening exponentially the longer he stared at the two figures.
Char’s naiveté was ever presence as she bounded forward a few paces to greet her brother. Chipper and melodic vocals chimed, “oh, Bullet! I worried I would never see you again!”
“What a shame that would have been,” the young stag muttered dryly.
The slightly older mare bobbed her head in agreement, having taken him quite seriously. “Fortunately, Rune here came and saved the day, my hero,” she chirped, turning to face the stallion with a grateful expression. Her ears flicked at his words and a petite smile crossed her kissers. “Oh, you must stay Rune!” Her tone implied there would be no arguing on the matter. “It is far too dangerous to be wandering this island alone,” she added matter-of-factly.
Bullet obviously had other thoughts on the situation. “I hardly think that is your choice to make, Char,” he hissed out.
The young mare’s ears folded back momentarily before perking right back up. Turning to face her sibling, she reached out to tussle his forelock with her lips, which he responded to with a bitter snort. “Isn’t yours either, Bullet,” she chirped rather childishly. “Where are mom and dad?”
The stallion avoided eye contact with Char for a moment, “gone, Char. The Zunden got them.”
Char did not seem to understand for she quickly demanded, “well, we must go get them back!”
“No, Char, you stupid filly! They are dead,” his teeth were clenched tight. It would be hard for one to tell if it was his upset over his mother’s death or aggravation with Char that was causing such rage to boil inside the young stag, but his mood was quickly turning for the worst.
“W-what…?” Tears were spilling from her blue orbs in moments, which Bullet seemed quite uncomfortable with. Rage was no longer visible on his face. Rather, the young one was shuffling uncomfortably in place.
Ears pricked as he noted that the lead warrior, Phantom, had joined them. A grimace was planted on his kissers as he realized it was not likely that there were any more survivors. He would wait a few moments longer, just in case others showed. Attention turned to Rune now. “You should be going,” he snapped harshly. Bullet was obviously trying to take claim of Rocas and felt quite uncomfortable with an aged stallion being on his turf. Rune posed an evident threat.
“No,” Char murmured meekly. “He is welcome to stay here - it still is not your call to make.” As she spoke, Bullet observed confidence starting to rise in her voice. It was something he needed to put an end to quickly.
“Char, I don’t want this to get ugly,” and honestly, he had never intended for it to. He had planned for her to remain stranded in the wilderness where he would immediately become next in line to the throne. With her return, his hopes were crushed unless she stepped down. He would have to be sure that she did just that. “But, you are not fit to rule these lands. Young as I may be, I am at least thrice as mature and clearly far less naïve.”
As he spoke, the painted stallion's gaze shifted between the three. Phantom posed a threat as a seasoned warrior, but he was not certain she would get involved on the family matter. And, Rune was a rival stag that he knew nothing of. He, for all Bullet knew, could be looking to take the lands from right under him. Then Char - she posed no physical threat, but spilling her blood could pose a resentful attack from Phantom or other herd members (if there were any more left) that had known or wanted her to be the next in line. He had to be ever vigilant to everything and everyone around him.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#455072]A weird feeling slipped into Rune's stomach, as he stared at Char's brother. So this was the one who wanted to shake her off earlier. Ears flicked back, listening to the two siblings speak, and finally Char answered him. Nostrils quivered, as she insisted that he stayed in Rocas. If that is what you want, Miss Ch-, he began, but his words were cut off by Bullet. A snort escaped his nostrils, and the older stallion clenched his jaw together so that the remark that formed upon his tongue didn't escape into the air. Rune could feel this situation turning south, and rather quickly.
Almost at once, the two siblings were talking again, and then his ears flicked as Bullet had said that their parents were dead. Gentle eyes went to Char, who he noticed had tears in her eyes, and the stallion placed his nose gently upon her neck. Don't cry, Char. It will be alright, his words were soothing yet again, the more gentler side of him always showing around the young mare. It was just something about her that made him calm and peaceful. The dappled Arabian could feel another horse nearby, and head turned slightly to look at Phantom, obviously an older horse of the herd. A slight nod of acknowledgment was given to her, then his attention was turned back to Char and Bullet. He didn't want Char to get hurt by her brother, who by the looks of this whole situation, was trying to be Lead over his sister.
As Bullet snapped at him, Rune's ears flicked back against his head again, and a harsh snort escaped his nostrils, eyes narrowed. You have no say over me, silly little colt. If Char wants me to stay, then I'm staying, and Char's next words confirmed what he had said. Rune still was a bit uncomfortable, considering he wasn't exactly part of the herd. Eyes studied Char's brother, and a small smirk crossed the stallion's maw. Was Bullet uneasy about him being here? The Arabian's tail slapped his hindquarters gently, and he relaxed a bit. What could Bullet possibly do to Rune? The older stallion was... well... just that. Older and more experienced than this colt was.
But Rune wouldn't make any move to try to harm Bullet. Only if he launched at Char, would Rune dare hurt the younger stallion. At the thought, Rune moved slightly closer to Char, as if trying to protect her from her brother.

Phantom
Phantom remained silent in her spot as she watched the scene unfold before her very eyes. Things were not looking good. Plus, just as she had suspected, Torchwood and Fiana were dead. A grim look made its way onto the Arab's face after she heard the news. Things were definitely going to be different.
The mare continued to be a spectator as Bullet and Char spoke. It did not take long for Phantom to realise what was going on. She looked to poor Char who had begun to cry. At times Phantom was very appropriately named. She could silently look on without anyone really noticing her. But during times like this she needed to be seen.
The ivory mare snorted and walked over to Char and the new stallion. She gave Bullet a cold stare. "She may not be as 'mature' as you Bullet, but she is the rightful heir to this land." Phantom said, standing up a bit taller. "And I will see to it personally that she gains, and keeps, that title." she finished with a curt bob of her crown.
Phantom knew that Char wasn't fully up to running a land, but she didn't like seeing that Bullet was trying to take over. These lands now belonged to Char. What Phantom said about gaurding the young mare's rights to this land were true. She would fight it out if she had to.
"Now," Phantom began, walking forward to Bullet. "I see no reason why you couldn't help Char run the lands." She fixed the young stag with a knowing look. She was perfectly aware of what he was capable of and what he was trying to do.
Phantom made her way back over to Char and the other stallion. Phantom smiled at him and said "'Ello lad. Welcome to Rocas. I am Phantom, the lead warrior." she said with a small bow.

Bullet’s ears flicked back taut against his skull as the two older equines made their stance on the matter very clear. And, in spite of the rage beginning to boil inside the short-tempered stallion, he remained quiet and fairly calm. Dark orbs fell upon his sister, head rising in height just slightly. He approached her with a few careful steps, eyes ever aware of Rune’s stance. For whatever reason, the foreign stag seemed to be protective over his naïve sister. The thought caused a angered snort to leave his nostrils.
“Char, it is your choice. Mother always wanted you to do what was best for Rocas, remember,” he paused, forcing his sister to make eye contact with him before he continued, “you remember her words, her chidings on how foolish you behaved. Char, what would mother want you to do? She’d want you to do what is best for the herd, right?”
The young mare’s head lowered slightly as he spoke of their mother. The painful news of her passing was still a fresh wound. Fiana had always been hard on her daughter and her childish demeanor. And, although Bullet had taken on a darker side with a harsher temperament, Char knew he was certainly the more rational thinker. Yet, something did not sit right with just passing on the throne.
“Yes, m-mother would want me to do what is best for the herd,” she started with her former timidity reclaimed. Her eyes narrowed the more she thought over her next words. And, finally, her head rose to level itself with Bullets. Their nostrils were mere inches from one another, and she couldn’t help but gulp at notice of how much larger her brother truly was compared to her. Inching her body towards Rune’s just barely helped calm the mare’s nerves as she spoke, “but passing on the throne is not how she would want me to go about that. She wouldn’t want me to just give up.”
Bullet’s calm composure was quickly fading, yet he wasn’t so rash a stag to attack the mare. He was not one to hurt a female unless he absolutely had to, plus he knew this battle an unfair endeavor on his behalf. However, his hoof did stomp the ground quite harshly to exert some of the rage.
Char was about to speak again, to agree with Phantom, that he should help her but did not get the chance. “Fine, if that is your choice, so be it, but I assure that you will regret that choice, Char.” The stallion began to turn away but not before baring his teeth at Rune in threat. It would not likely be the last time that Rune heard of this vengeful brute. The paint did not speak another word as he walked away from the group. And, after he’d gotten a decent distance he began to gallop off and out of Rocas territory.
The young mare watched her brother depart with a sad look in her blue orbs. She had always thought they were friends... but, there were bigger frets in her mind. She now had a territory to rule without her brother and without her parents. Hopeful eyes looked between Rune and Phantom. At least she had them, right?

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#455072]Anger danced in the dappled stallion's eyes, as Bullet spoke to Char again. However, Rune held his tongue, having no right to say anything. Instead, the stallion flicked his tail, the strands of hair sweeping across Char's hind legs gently. A small smile crossed the stallion's maw, content with standing beside the younger mare. His mind began to wander, not really listening to the conversation much anymore, his eyes drifting along the sky. Thoughts were on Halloween, and wondering if she was alright and if she was still with her filly.
His daydream was interrupted by Bullet, who was announcing that Char would regret her decision. Eyes focused on the younger stallion, and scoffed as he bared his teeth at him. Flicking his ears back, Rune was tempted to chase after Bullet, to make him regret saying such harsh things to his sister, and for being so rude to a guest. Taking a step forward, Rune looked as if he was going to give chase, but held himself back, throwing his head into the air and snorting. The dappled Arabian turned to face Char and Phantom, his ears flicking slightly.
Char. I swear upon my life, that I will protect you from any harm that Bullet will try to do to you, the stallion did a slight bow to the new leader of Rocas, a small smile upon his maw once again. As he straightened himself up, he looked to Phantom. Pleasure to meet you, Miss Phantom. I wish it was much more pleasant than this, but... no one can suddenly make it so that everything was good in the world. The stallion's attention turned back to Char, and that gentle look swept over his features once again. He reached forward and placed his nose to the sweet mare's cheek.
From overhead, an eagle surveyed the scene, drifting along the breeze, a sinister spark in it's eye. It was as silent as possible, listening to what was being said below. So, a new leader was crowned in Rocas. His mistress would be thrilled to hear about this. Suddenly, the eagle shot off toward Fuoco, intent on finding his mistress.

Phantom
The ivory mare clenched her teeth as Bullet continued to speak. She tensed up a bit, waiting to protect Char, just in case Bullet decided to do something very stupid that he would definitely regret doing later. Phantom took an unspoken oath to Fiana's family to protect them and see that the right things happened. And right now, she was glad she took that oath.
Phantom continued to stare at Bullet with a cold gaze as he walked away, obviously angry that Rune and her had taken a stand for Char. When Bullet bared his teeth at the filly, Phantom flattened her auds and snapped back at him with a fire in her eyes.
She backed down once the colt was out of sight and glanced to Rune. She was quite pleased with his performance. He obviously had feelings for little Char. You would have to be blind to miss that. Phantom already trusted him with her.
Phantom smiled at Rune as he spoke directly to her. "Yes, too bad." was all she had to say as she looked off into the distance. It almost felt as if someone was watching, but what did she know? She had always been a bit over cautious and paranoid.
"So Rune, where are you from?" she asked curiously, hoping to make pleasant conversation with the newest herd member.

The little mare would be lying if she said that she was not upset over how things had gone down between her brother and her. Further, she was hurt that Rune and Phantom had to feel the need to protect her. It shouldn’t have been like that. The young mare knew her brother to be rather power hungry but was hopeful that it would not ever come to a brawl. Bullet was quick to anger but more gallant than to attack a mare, especially family. Little did she know of his plans for a most terrible alliance against Rocas.
Distraction was soon wrought on by Rune’s bow which caused the mare to giggle. And, she smiled quite daintily as he placed his muzzle against her cheek. The smirk was soon followed by a sheepish whuffle and quite the flustered expression. However, as the stallion and Phantom began to converse, Char could not help but smile for an entirely different reason. It was good to know that the two older horses had her back. Further, and in spite of the circumstances, there was a certain happiness in knowing that she was the lead of these lands however unprepared as she might be.
The sound of a few flustered ravens above caught her attention. She was unaware of why they were upset but could see them not too far off the tail of an eagle. It almost appeared as if they were giving pursuit. This caused Char to frown; she had not known that the ravens took so meanly towards other birds. Of course, it was not of her knowledge why the ebony feathered creatures were truly so upset. The ravens did not know who the eagle was working for but had seen it times before, spying and scheming. They knew it simply as an enemy.
Char tossed her crown as if to disband the thoughts of the ravens and eagle. It was of little importance right now, or so she believed. Blue orbs focused on Phantom with curiosity – why was it she was the only one who had shown up. “Phantom,” she murmured quite submissively, “have you seen any of the others? Amorette, Anil, anyone?”
