Hannibal wandered into Felwood, his ears drawn back against his skull. Once again, he was disappearing for long periods at a time, not setting a hoof within his own territory, leaving his herd's fate to chance. Nostrils quivered, as the painted stallion crossed into the dense cluster of trees, the shadows welcoming the dark stallion. Blue eyes looked around, taking in every aspect of his harem, trying to see if anything was out of place. Once everything was cataloged in his mind, the stallion picked up his pace, cantering through the trees, toward the only water source within the whole territory. The sun was low in the sky, signaling night, the brilliant beams of the sunlight reflecting off the low lying clouds, a variation of dark reds and oranges dancing across them.
Gentle waves lapped at the banks of the stream, as the painted hellion entered the shallow waters, lowering his head to drink from the cool water. Even though it was nearing Fall, it was still unbearably hot during the day, which was why Hannibal had hidden himself away. But now, with the cooler months around the corner, he decided to come out of hiding, to see what destruction had been placed upon Felwood. Unfortunately, nothing seemed out of place, except for the absence of life. Hannibal had noticed that all of Isola. It was as if a plague had swept through the island, destroying all life within it's path.
Stepping out of the river, the stallion threw his head into the air, calling his herd together. If there was one left.
There was someone there, though. From the shadows, a single figure broke away, it's ears flicked forward. Muscular body of Joker stopped before the Lead, and he dipped his head slightly to Hannibal. |
[/font] "It has been some time, Hannibal. I was wondering where you had wandered off to," the ivory and navy stallion spoke softly, his eyes never leaving the painted stallion before him. Yes, Joker might have been younger than Hannibal, but he was much larger than the mustang. Joker's feathered hoof stomped the ground slightly, as a sinister smirk crossed Hannibal's maw."You don't need to worry about me, Joker. I take it you've been watching over the herd for me?" Hannibal asked and watched as Joker shifted slightly. Of course you haven't, Hannibal thought, and shook his head slightly. "It doesn't matter if you have or not. Do not fret, my child," the older stallion turned to the water, waiting to see if anyone else showed up besides the young Irish Draft. Joker, sensing that there would be no more conversation between the two, moved away, toward a wider spot in the river, and lowered his head, drinking the water slowly.[/size][/font][/blockquote] ! ·· Baby remember my name ··
[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote][/right][/font] Time had passed like a wildfire through the land of Isola. In fact, with all the quietness and the eerie, isolated feeling in the air, it was quite a surprise that an actual wildfire hadn’t spread as well – especially with the last news that had been heard of the Zunden.
But alas, nothing about this land seemed to be normal, so why expect it to act as such?
On this day, Hannibal had chosen to make a much awaited reappearance – and it wasn’t too odd of it that another certain horse seemed to come together out of thin air. The chestnut, Arabian-like figure of another horse stirred in the shadows lightly, the silhouette hardly distinguishable from the cool darkness that the woods had at the moment. However much the mare would have liked to just watch everything from a distance, as she had been doing for a few months, the time had dawned that Hannibal returned, and that Joker had as well.
In a way, she wasn’t exactly part of the herd. Yet, when Nefarian had been around, he’d given her permission to stay. That permission, though most likely void now since he now lay six feet under, was used leisurely by her. Oh, Devil had been around the island a few times – but despite her travelling, she’d been known to linger around this specific territory every now and then. Yet, she hadn’t crossed paths with Joker in a while – probably due to the same eerie lonesomeness that hung in the air all over the place.
The mare’s ears flickered slightly, having now processed the decibels of Hannibal’s call, and soon after the soft mumbles that she couldn’t make out – most likely talking. So, without hesitation, she strutted forward quietly. The white, lightning-like marking that had sprouted from one of her socks had become permanent now.
Soon coming to the border of the woods around the stream, the mare’s amber eyes seemed to glow in a way, reflecting the light that the water was sending all over the place. Due to this, she didn’t bother to stay there for long. She slipped out from the trees quietly, walking towards the edge of the banks to where the water was lapping up softly. With that, she let out a soft nicker, shifting her gaze until it fell on the two stallions. “Somebody call?” she whispered, pricking her ears up.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#0A1325]A gentle wuffle escaped the larger of the two stallions, and Joker moved from where he had been standing. Hey Devil, the black-blue and white three year old spoke gently, nudging the mare's shoulder slightly. From behind him, Hannibal's ears flicked, and nostrils flared slightly. I take it this is that mare, Joker, the hell-hound asked, and Joker turned his head to look at Hannibal. A small nod, and he looked back to the Arabian before him. We need to talk, Devil. Not now, unless you think we should. We're waiting for the rest of Hannibal's herd before he starts the meeting. The stallion's words drifted off, and he straightened himself slightly.
Hannibal had turned his back on the pair, looking toward the mountain, wondering if Spirit was there. He missed her, and he hadn't seen Vodka in some time, either. He wondered if his daughter was still alive, even. Flaring his nostrils, the stallion shook his head, and then turned back to face the pair, waiting for Nyx and Kendora to appear, if they still live here, or if they even were alive. |

Devil’s ears pricked up as the two stallions stirred in response to her appearance. Her gaze instantly shifted to Joker, who had started to move in her direction. “Hey Joker,” she replied, the tips of her maw beginning to tug upwards into a soft smile. Her ear flicked aside once more as Hannibal mentioned something in relation to her – that mare? The natural curiosity of the Navita seemed to start working instantly – almost as if that comment had practically signaled her to ask what he’d meant. But that would have to wait until later, since apparently they were going to start some sort of herd meeting. “Sure, that’s fine with me..”
[/color] She started, tilting her head slightly as his speech drifted off. “Talk about what, exactly?”[/color] She inquired, her gaze shifting promptly to follow the movements of the other stallion. Honestly, she didn’t know why she always followed movements – it was almost instinct. Turning back to face Joker, she reached out and nudged his neck with the tip of her snout. Her tail flicked around softly, swishing gently about the mare’s ankles. Then, she got an idea. A mischievous look seemed to spark up in the depths of her eyes, much like the first time when she’d splashed Joker with some of the water from the pond. This time, the joke would be a little different though – not as easily explained. “What’s that behind you?”[/color] She asked, tilting her head and looking past the stallion’s neck and creating a small swirl of glowing light to float in the air behind the stallion. It held several colors, and remained there glowing for a while. Devil could only imagine what might run through Joker’s head when he saw it – but nevertheless, it’d be an interesting thing to see. - Dance with the Devil[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#0A1325]We'll talk in a little, the stallion whispered, glancing over to Hannibal then back to Devil. Nostrils flared slightly, and the stallion looked at the mare curiously. Something was behind him? The stallion turned his head to look behind him, and noticed the lights swirling in the air. Head tilted slightly at it, then he looked to Devil, an ear flicked forward in confusion. Hey, how'd that get there? The stallion shook his head, and blinked quickly a few times.
He moved to his friend's side, nudging her neck gently, then looking to Hannibal. I don't need you here, Joker. I will tell you everything later. You and Devil can go and talk now, if you want, the hell-horse said flatly, and Joker nodded slightly. The larger stallion nudged Devil's shoulder gently, as if telling her to follow him, and he headed back into the forest. Ears flicked back against his head, and he could still smell his father within the woods, as if the territory didn't want to move on despite the fact that it had a new leader. Joker sighed slightly, as he trotted through the trees, moving around them, heading toward the small clearing where he knew that he wouldn't be bothered by anyone when he wanted to speak with Devil. |
