Ears flicked atop her head, as the slowly woke, her golden eyes blinking a few times before they opened all the way. "Damn you bees," she mumbled under her breath, and pushed herself to her hooves, shaking out her body. A few strands of grass fell, and she blinked slightly. Other than the bees, birds, and other sounds of nature, Malifex heard nothing. Not even another horse. Shaking her head, the mare exited the shade of her tree, walking out into the open. Where is everyone?
The painted warrior headed through the meadow where she had been keeping to herself for the past few weeks, flicking her tail slowly behind her scarred hindquarters, the flies buzzing angrily away. Nearby, a doe and her offspring grazed, completely ignoring the horse as she made her way through the grasses. The smell of the flowers entered the mare's nostrils, and she let a small smile cross her maw. The smells of summer were so peaceful, and it put Malifex's worries about the Liberta herd to rest for the moment.
Entering the trees on the other side of her resting spot, the warrior headed to the small stream that she knew was flowing through the small woods. Making it to the water source, she lowered her head, quenching her thirst after a few hours of sleep. A snapping twig brought her head from the stream, however, and the mare looked around the woods quickly. Nothing visible had made that sound, so where did it come from? Shrugging, Malifex took another drink from the stream, until she felt eyes upon her back. A nervous snort escaped her nostrils, and she turned to face whatever was now racing toward her.
She nearly fell backwards, as a busy tail raced up her shoulder, resting upon her head. A squirrel, a friend she had made a few days ago, sat in between her ears, it's tail quivering frantically. "Jeez. You gave scared me, Eith," Malifex nickered, and the squirrel gave a small smirk to the horse. "I scared you? I'm so sorry, Mali," the squirrel chittered, and patted a paw on the horse's forehead.
"You still looking for Night, Mali," the squirrel asked, sliding down the horse's neck to her back, nestling herself ionto the curve of Malifex's hindquarters. "Yes, I am, Eith. I can't find anyone from Liberta. It's like... they were all wiped off the face of Isola," the warrior started walking toward the meadow, flicking her ears forward slightly. The squirrel stayed upon her back, even as they entered the sunlight. Malifex hoped that someone would appear soon, so she wasn't stuck talking to Eith.
