"When fire and flowers once were lovers, and our hearts beat not with scorn, when the world had none of war and gore, I write of a time which is no more."[/sub] "What if we get caught by the Zundens?" "Then we die." "Well, that's reassuring.." "They'll probably just turn you to instant ashes. No pain involved." "I don't wanna go back.." "The whole point of this was to get you out--why would you go back now?" "You look like you wou--" "I haven't all my life `til now--and I've never seen more narrow minded horses than the ones back there."
The quiet tones of two mares conversed--almost as if gossiping--from behind the trees before they began descending from the shadows. One, obviously of Zunden blood; and the other, obviously not. They walked slowly, daggers barely touching the ground and straying no more than a foot or so from each other's sides. The zunden mare's crimson eyes glanced around the terra calmly as if looking for a light horse--or better yet, the herd leader. Nostrils quivered softly as she let out a nicker, asking any present horses to come hither.. She obviously wasn't following the orders Aiden would have wanted--if she had been, she would have headed back as soon as they reached the forest.
The ivory mare tossed her mane, ebony forelock falling over one side of her face as she looked around. "I don't think there's anyone here.." she whispered, taking a few steps forward and turning her attention back to Nina--who simply gave a roll of her eyes as if it was a stupid thought.
"Of course there is--there's always someone.." she said, ears pricked up curiously as she looked around.

Irish Clover
The roaned mare trotted through Liberta, going to where she had thought she heard voices. Then again, it might just be the crazy mare hearing things again, which happened too often. "Oh my dear, you are oh so correct! There is always someone! Good job! I would offer you something for your hard work, but what is there to offer? But the last sentence was mainly to herself. Wild eyes looked around, and came in focus on a white daisy growing to the side. "Ah ha!" The icelandic hurried to the flower, snatching it up with a snap of her jaws. The small mare trotted up to the Zunden and put it daintily behind her audit. "Now don't be blown all that dang fire on me!" Clover gave the mare a half grin and started cackling. Her forelock had fallen over her wild orbs, and it gave her more of a pony look than ever..
Boo
"Mother!" The yearling was trying to keep up with the crazy mare, but no luck. She had left him. He stopped and sighed. Since his mother had lost her mind, he was keeping up with her. Poor thing, she was only around four, and had already gone mindless.
Finally, he caught up with her. The crazy mare was putting a daisy behind a Zunden mare's ear, and he had no time to ask why. Shaking his head, the mutt ran over to take care of her. "Mother! Stop and leave those mares alone! They don't want your flowers!" Boo shoved his mother backwards, and she merely let out a laugh. "Aww now son, I'm only rewarding the mare for her good work!" She grinned at her offspring. "I'm sorry if she's bothered you two... She.. She's.. Messed up in the head. I'm sorry. " He dipped his head, but Clover had gotten away from him and started stroking the mare's cheek. "Who's a good girl? Yes! Your a good girl!" Boo stared after his mother, biting his bottom lip. Was this really what she had become? Shaking his head, he yanked away the mare and shooed her off to go play in the diasy patch. Sh ran off giggling like a foal. "In other words, she'd lost her damn mind. Crazy." Boo shook his head and watched his mother romping like a young foal.

"When fire and flowers once were lovers, and our hearts beat not with scorn, when the world had none of war and gore, I write of a time which is no more."[/sub] Shadow arched an eyebrow as she saw the--rather strange--mare walk right up to Nina. Her eyes slightly widened, both due to amusement and slight fear of what might happen--Nina was very hot tempered (as was to be expected) but she seemed to be putting up with it for the while..
Nina's ears flicked over in the direction of the roan mare who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. She tilted her head softly as she watched, crimson eyes following the mare's movements as she picked up the flower and trotted right over. A strange expression came over her face almost as if she was startled but with a small urge to laugh at its randomness. Her ear twitched slightly as she put the daisy on it, glancing up over her forelock as if trying to look at it, before her attention was drawn to a yearling who had appeared out of nowhere after the mare. Her nostrils quivered slightly as she watched, holding back a small laugh as she nodded in response. "She hasn't bothered us, don't worry about that.." she said, head still tilted in a curious manner as she watched the two, taking a few steps back almost instantaneously as the mare had stroked her cheek, but holding back the fiery response that would have most likely happened in any other mood. "I understand..poor thing.." she muttered, joining Shadow as they both watched the crazy mare in utter confusion.

˟ Aithne ˟
† Aithne followed Shadow and Nina into Liberta shortly after they arrived, taking her time and caution to move through the unfamiliar territory. She had not yet spoken to Rocas's allies, but hopefully they had sent word to the leader---Lassan, she thought it was--- that she was here to help.
† Her nostrils flared as the scents of Shadow and Nina brushed up against her in the wind. She could hear the faint echo of voices from somewhere, and she quickly picked up her pace to close the distance between them. She soon spotted her allies, as well as two other horses that must live here. One pony was frolicking about, cackling like a mad hatter, while another was trying to keep her distracted and apologizing for his...mother's, behavior. The ash-gray Zuden blinked, alking over to the group while watching the mare entertain herself with flowers. "Well, thats...interesting," she commented, a small smile tugging at her maw.

Lassan The ebony stallion had been taking a drink from the river when a large, black bird landed on his back. "Ah, Las'an?" it asked him. "Yes, what is it?" Lassan questioned, interested as to why this raven sounded so urgent. "There 're some Zunden in our home. Oh an' tha' lit'le mad pony Clover showed up finally." the raven told him before flapping away to the safety of the trees.
What the hell?! Why are they here? Oh God, have they started the attacks? And what was that about Clover? She showed up? Well I haven't seen her in a long time. She just vanished! Huh. And hopefully Boo is still with her. Wait? Did that raven call her mad? Oh that can't be good.
Lassan came to a stop as he saw five equines ahead. Two of them very obviously Zunden, Clover, Boo and a horse he did not know. Teh stallion had fury in his orbs as he marched up to the Zunden. "What the hell are you disgusting animals doing on my land?!" he demanded, scared for the lives of the members in his herd, including his winged friends.

Back off I'll take you on; Headstrong to take on anyone..
Shadow had been watching Clover and the yearling when her attention was suddenly shifted to an ebony stallion who'd walked up to them. Black-tipped ears pricked up curiously as he watched him approach the two Zunden mares. Her eyes widened slightly as she noted the vibe of fury that was being given off--and the equally challenging response that was starting to come from Nina's direction. She quickly cantered over between the two, acting like a sort of barrier as she faced Lassan. Let me explain.. these mares mean no harm to you and your herd, Aithen is a.. er.. well, Aiden thinks she's a spy but she's really a double spy and works against him, and I wandered into the land and the only way my friend, Nina," she nodded softly in the strawberry roan's direction, "could get me out of there in one piece was to get Aiden to make me one as well" She tried to explain the whole story but she couldn't find the words to say exactly what was going on, so she just hushed up, turning her gaze to Aithne as if to ask her to explain it in a less awkward manner.
Nina's face--on the contrary to her peacemaking friend--held a hilariously annoyed look. Her ears were flattened against her skull, head lowered slightly in a fighting stance though not making a single move--hoping that Shadow and Aithne could handle the situation so she wouldn't have to give the stallion a piece of her mind. "Disgusting animals? are you referring to yourself, buddy? She muttered softly, a hiss finding its way into her tone for a few seconds. She dug one of her daggers into the ground, stabbing the grass gently.

˟ Aithne ˟
† Aithne blinked as the black stallion marched up to them, obviously pissed out of his mind. Yet, she could still smell a hint of fear prickling off his pelt. The Zuden mare remained quiet as Shadow Dancer tried to explain them, but with proven difficultly. Aithne smiled at her as she gave up and turned to her to explain. "You tried," she said kindly, before turning to Lassan, dipping her tiara. "Yes, " she began, "I am what Shadow has said, a double agent. I have already spoken to your allies of Rocas. Nina," she nodded to the roan,"and Shadow Dancer recently joined the herd, and both have decided to help me turn against the Fire Herd. No one deserves that much power, and slaughter is quite a sin..." The ash-gray vixen flicked her ears at Nina's murmured comment, turning her neck towards her and cocking her head, eyebrows slightly furrowed. She didn't hear what she had said, but it didn't sound very nice. She stared at her for a moment, before slowly looking away distrustfully, to set her bright yellow irises back onto Lassan.

The stag listneed rather intently as the mare spoke, explaining what they were doing here. Lassan's facial epressions lightened up just a bit. Hm, mabye things were turning around for once. This could be very good for the 'normal horses' as the Elementals called them. "Interesting." the stallion noted. "Tell me more about this Shadow and Aithne." he said to the two mares, this time adressing the Zunden mare Aithne as another horse.
Lassan then heard the Zunden he presumed to be Nina mumble something. Now he may be interested in what Aithen and Shadow have to offer, but if this fae was going to stand here and cause trouble, well that was a different story. "What was that?!" he snapped at her through gritted teeth. He was acting unusually angry today because of the intrusion into his land by Zunden.

Back off I'll take you on; Headstrong to take on anyone..
Nina snorted softly, nostrils quivering as if they wanted to flare in disgust. She raised her head, ears remaining flattened against her skull as she glared at the stallion, looking him dead in the eye. "I believe I said: Disgusting animals? are you referring to yourself, buddy?" The hiss returned to her tone once more, her crimson eyes alive with an adrenaline rush that wanted to make its presence known--no matter how hard the mare did try to remain calm. She didn't mind normal horses--she didn't consider them inferior, nor anything--otherwise she wouldn't have bothered to help Shadow out. However, she didn't take too kindly to pissy stallions in her face calling her breed disgusting--no matter the reason.
Shadow stared at the group of horses, black forelock falling over the side of her face as she watched in amazement. "She doesn't mean that! She's just.. hot tempered. very hot tempered." She said, trying to lighten up the situation as fast as possible and trying to get in between the two once again. However, Nina refused to let her.

Irish Clover
Clover had stopped a few minutes ago from romping in the flowers to watch the four equines a few feet away. Suddenly, it occured to her, a little too late, that Lassan had arrived. "LASSAN!!" Screeching, she barrelled to him with her small body. Once she had successfully knocked the arabian over, she licked his cheek. "Hi!" Her wild eyes stared at him, and she grinned. "Hi.." A flood of memories came back to her. He took her in, she got pregnant, the foal being born, leaving... And that was all. The mare blinked a couple times and looked around and whimpered. What had happened to her? Clover looked around at the other horses, before pulling herself up from the ground with what little dignity she had left.
Clover shook her cranium, trying to clear her blurry mind, something snapped in her head, and that wild look came back to her eyes. Cackling, she ran off like a mad man again and started chasing an invisible 'bad man'.
Boo
"MOM!" Boo tried to stop the small mare as she ran towards Lassan, but missed her and she went toppling over him. He closed his eyes and shook his head. "Mom..." Boo whispered, watching. She had one of her moments, where she was 'normal again. He watched her look around, but then she went back to crazy Clover. Boo shook his cranium once more and looked away...

The stallion's audits went flat against his head as the Zunden began to speak. "Me disgusting?" he questioned, his vocals very sardonic. "Ha! Sure I may be of 'dirty blood' and be proud of it, but you, you are the ones who kill for pleasure." he said, of course he did not mean Nina or Aithne personally. Well, he was not so sure about Nina, but Aithne he would bet that she never killed for pleasure. "What do you get out of burning innocents? I don't see the fun in it. How can you even live with yourselves?"
Lassan kept inching closer to the Zunden mare as he spoke. He quickly glanced to Shadow as she said soemthing about Nina being very hot tempered. Maybe she was, but now this was a verbal battle the would hopefully not become a physical one. After all, they did come here to try and help, or something like that.
Just as Lassan took another step forth, something barreled into him and knocked him flat over. "What the hell?!" was all he could manage to say as he scrambled to get up, only to see Clover there. "Oh." he said, looking at Boo. The two had disappeared for almost two years. He knew they were in the land, but he was enver able to locate them. It seems like the little pony had lost her mind, literally. It was rather sad and Lassan felt sorry for her.. and for Boo having to be like her care giver. Of course if he wanted, he could just leave her on her own, but he was too kind hearted for that.

I'm up and up and it's so hard to turn me down.. &Let's burn shit up, `cause I'm your fire starter now;
The zunden mare's eyes seemed to burn brighter with every inch he wandered closer to her. She flattened her ears more as he spoke, digging her hooves into the ground. "Dirty blood? That has nothing to do with it. I could give a rat's ass what bloodline you're from; just know you'll be insulting mine no longer." She gave an angered snort, taking a step towards the stallion as if trying to get the message across that she wasn't going to back down so easily. Killing for pleasure? Burning innocents? Well if they hadn't wandered into their lands they wouldn't have gotten themselves into trouble in the first place--how hard is it to miss a big fiery volcano and every burnt piece of vegetation? If you wandered into it there must definitely be a death wish--though she didn't think too much on the subject, for Shadow had done the exact same thing. She just knew that you couldn't impute a whole bloodline for the actions of a heartless herd; and should he continue judging her, then she might just have to act like what he seemed to be expecting of her. "Live with myself? I'll tell you how I live with myself. I wasn't raised by the little herd you seem to have so much against but I will gladly fit the stereotype you seem to have set for us." She narrowed her eyes as she watched, her temperature seemed to be shooting up unexpectedly--something she hadn't experienced before. The vegetation under her hooves began to sizzle, some of the blades of grass turning to ashes in mere seconds. She wasn't very happy right now.. Her attention was quickly grasped the mare which had practically knocked Lassan over on the ground. Her adrenaline seized the opportunity--not waiting a second longer to think on the consequences of the action. She gave another defiant snort--this time, smoke blowing out from her nostrils much as Aiden's had a few hours prior. The vixen reared up wildly, fire encircling each of her legs up to the knee, following the crimson pattern that was embedded into her coat. Maybe there had been a reason for the strange markings, after all.
Shadow's eyes had widened as Nina seemed to have taken the insults a bit more personally than she figured the stallion might have meant. She was sure the Zunden didn't kill for pleasure, or any of the accusations--but.. Nina seemed to have a spark right now that seemed more Zunden than ever. She shouldn't have wandered into Terra di Fuoco.. She shouldn't have. What was she thinking? In doing so she'd probably just lost all sight of the very 'anti-zunden' personality of her childhood friend.. The mare tossed her forelock aside as she watched, giving a startled whinny as she saw Nina rear. "NINA DON'T!" She yelled, the shock of the mare's reaction was obvious in her tone--but it had no effect on Nina. It was as if something, somewhere in her mind, had flipped the switch and broken it--there was no going back.
The edges of Nina's eyes brightened up some, having a rather metallic orange gleam around the rims. She flared her nostrils, coming down relentlessly--all the while ignoring the calls of her friend--and aiming her flaming hooves at the stallion's side.

˟ Aithne ˟
† "Nina," Aithne said sharply, glaring at the mare who was beginning to heat up with anger with Lassan's words. She had learned to ignore it and control her temper, she had to help these horses, no matter how annoying and pissy they were to her. "Nina," she said again, trying to be gentle,"Cool down, hun. Lassan is right. You've seen how they've treated Shadow, and just a few weeks ago they burned the shit out of a poor horse who happened to wander too far. I'm afraid the sterotypes you are thinking are wrong, but they are true." Apparently the mare was ignoring her, still ranting on and each word building up her anger and fueling the fire. The ashen-colored fae gave Shadow Dancer a concerned glance. She got her attention pulled back when the crazy mare knocked over the black stallion, looking quite confused for a moment, a sudden intellegent look in her eye, before it suddenly snapped and she was back up and running around again. Aithne watched her with a slight frown for a moment, ears flicking. She jumped in alarm as Shadow screamed, and whipped her head around to see Nina lunge forward with white-hot hooves.
† Aithne jumped infront of the fallen stallion, recieving the blow heavily on her shoulder with a sharp cry as Nina's hooves sliced open her skin. Red hot blood dripped from her wound, sizzling on the ground. Her ears flattened on her skull, crown whipping around with bared teeth. "Crazy bitch!" she screamed, her shoulder throbbing and smoking. Her skin didn't burn from the other Zuden, but it was unpleasent feeling to be touched by someone else's fire. Aithne snorted out smoke like a dragon, yellow cat-like eyes glowing fiercely. "Get out of here! Now !" She snarled. So stupid of her to even trust another Zuden mare. She should have thought that she would loose her temper, but she had thought that she would be different since her friend was a regular equine. That theory was just stabbed in the back.

Irish Clover
Clover stopped, staring at the glowing fire. She watched the mare's anger boil to the point she couldn't help it, and tried to get to Lassan. That made the roaned mare's blood boil with rage. Her eyes took from the wild glaze, and sheer anger filled them. The mare's ivories bared, and she hurried to the others. "Bitch!" The icelandic's pale tassles slapped across her hocks, and she barreled into Nina's side. Her lip curled, and a feral snarl escaped her maw.
Boo
"NO!" Boo watched his mother barrell into Nina's side, and he knew what was coming next. The zunden's anger was going to boil over, and Clover would be either badly hurt or..

Lassan had been winded by the blow to the side form Clover. He knew she had not meant to hurt him, just to say hello in her own special way, now that she was a rather special pony. He still repected her though. Now when a horse runs into another horse at a fast pace and knocks them over, it takes a few minutes to recover.
Lassan remained on the ground, huffing and puffing, try to regain enough strength to pop back up. As he lay there, he could hear the anger in Nina's vocals as she ranted on. Shut up bitch. he thought as he winced, lifing his head. He would definitely have a large bruise later on.
Next thing he knew, Aithne had rushed in front of him as Nina began her attack. Lassan's orbs grew to the size of the moon and he popped up. He was a bit wobbly on his legs like a new foal, but he was determined to take a grasp on the situation. He then saw the bood coming from Aithne's shoulder and the flames still dancing in the air. Another glance at Nina told him that she was not done. "Are you okay?!" he managed to get out as he looked at the not too pretty wound on the mare's shoulder. There was genuine concern in his voice as he spoke to her.
All of the sudden, one of the worst things that could have happened did. Clover had decided to attack Nina. "NO!!" he yelled out as he rushed after the pony, knowing that this would be certain death for either one, or both, of them.
