Namine trudged through Balle Valle with a heavy gait, like she had the weight of the world on her back. She had been living here since winter. No stallion wanted her. She was just a small, white thin Arabian mare. She wasn't a pretty young broad, like the others. She wasn't old, either, just not the strapping two and three the others were. And she wasn't a slut like the others either, she wasn't willing to give a greedy stallion her behind just for a safe place to spend a couple years. She would'nt birth foal after foal like the other small, bitchy mares just for the low-quality affection of a stallion. She would live all her life here in Belle Valle if that was how it was going to be.
Both her mother were and brother dead, and Namine wandered alone. She had no true purpose, living with the wind in her blonde mane and the sun on her sloped back. Slowing her gait again, she closed her eyes, her chocolate orbs now hidden. She halted totally, and let the wind take her tassels as they billowed around her fawn-like frame. Sighing, taking in air, she arched her neck and whuffled light, blowing breath out her nares, like small clouds. She watched as her breath faded away, and it reminded her of how her own life was slowly fading. At a meer six, she was growing weaker, and scavenging for roots and dead grass in Belle Valle did not fill her stomach.
She opened her eyes, and looked out to the horizon, as if she could make out the frame of a stallion. A rescuer, perhaps.

you're not alone, there is more to this i know, you can make it out, you will live to tell. The spring air caused Rune to be more active than usual, which was very normal for the stallion. Ever since he landed upon the Isola, he had been in seclusion, not really moving from Bella Valle. He had thought he had seen his sister's, Halloween's, silhouette within the trees, but he didn't know what he had seen. Perhaps it was the sun playing tricks on his eyes. Now the gray stallion moved through the growing trees and grasses, his tail flicking slowly behind him. The Arabian cross flared his nostrils, as he entered the larger meadow, eyes slowly growing adjusted to the change in light. Pausing on the edge of the clearing, he looked out across the green grass, noticing how not many horses roamed this place much anymore. At least, that he had known of. The mass of gray that was a mare caught his eye, and he flicked his ears forward. Now, this was a horse he hadn't run into before.
Rune moved forward slowly, hoping he didn't startle this mare away. He stopped walking once he was a few yards away, his ears flicked forward, eyes studying her. She was, just by him looking at her, an Arabian, no doubt about it. His sister was an Arabian, as was he (only partly), so he knew what they looked like quite well. The gray stallion sent a friendly nicker to the mare, hoping she was alright with him being so close. After a few moments, he stepped forward again, closing the gap between the two. "Hello, miss. I hope I am not intruding.." Rune said softly, watching Namine. CHARACTER ! RUNE. LYRICS ! YOU'RE NOT ALONE.SAOSIN. [/blockquote]

Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me. Her docile maw rose slowly as the stallion neared. He was big and his coat was splashed with smoke grey dapples. His head was slightly dished, like that of an Arabians. Her whole posture straightened when he neared. Tail clamped to her rump, which she kept pointed away from him. She was too used to greedy stallions.
Had he intruded? She shifted uneasily. "Intruded on what? No, you haven't." She said, unsure of what to say. The wind picked up again, a pleasant breeze carrying the scent of spring along on it's drifts. It was a pleasant Spring, but there would be a scorching summer to follow.
"And I don't suppose you have a herd?" She said this in a sharper voice.

Rune didn't know if he should be taken aback by her harsh tone or if he should just go with it. Flicking his ears awkwardly, he looked down at his hooves, having seen Namine clamp her tail down. As if he was that type of stallion. Flaring his nostrils slightly, the gray shook his head slightly at her question. "Nope. No herd for me. I wander Belle Valle, living by myself." He watched her closely, his eyes showing only curiosity about this mare. "There is no need to feel wary of me, miss.I am not like most stallions; those who feed off of mare's fearfulness of being alone, taking advantage of them, and stealing their freedom away. I am a gentle soul, and I treat everyone with kindness." Rune spoke the truth, and he let a small, caring smile cross his muzzle. If Namine wanted to believe him or not, it was her choice in the end, and he would have no say in it. Besides, he spoke the truth anyways.
"Allow me to introduce myself, since I haven't yet. I would be Runed Forever, but you can call me Rune. What would your name be?" The Arabian mix had inclined his head in a slight bow to the mare, and ears stayed tilted toward her so he could catch her name. CHARACTER ! RUNE. LYRICS ! YOU'RE NOT ALONE.SAOSIN. I am broken and abandoned, and you are an angel.
Namine softened her stance when he assured her he was not like the others. The number of times she had heard that reassurance, all had been lies. But there was something in the softness in his voice, the truth in his eyes, that made her believe. She would learn soon if that was a mistake or not.
So he roamed these lands, calling them home. Did he not yearn to feel wanted, connected to one or more beings? He was a loner, like she was. Did he feel the same weight she did? If he did, he did not show it. He seemed like a happy, humble stallion. She wasn't quiet sure the last time she had felt happy with her life. Too long, much too long. So long that she no longer saw the color in the scenary, or felt the warmth of the sun. She felt disconnected from the world. Everything seemed so distant.
"I'm sorry, I'm used to the typical stallion. I shouldn't stereotype you like that." She said, softness in her voice that had not been there before. As if she was realizing there was purpose in life. "My name is Naminé." She looked into his eyes, and then looked away, unsure of how to act. It had been awhile since she had seen another horse, let alone converse with one.

Rune smiled, almost awkwardly, as he could feel the heat rising under his gray coat. Growing up, the Arab cross hadn't been known for giving others compliments, perhaps it was because his parents, and his older sister, were always cocky and thought themselves better than everyone else, and he was taught to be the same. However, in time, he grew to realize that every horse was the same, no matter the blood within you. The stallion took a step back, just so that Naminé didn't feel like he was encroaching in her personal space. "Have you been wandering around Belle Valle long? And excuse me if I'm prying, I just have never seen you around these parts before, and I am curious."
Rune glanced behind him, toward the open meadow where the grasses were swaying in the gentle breeze, the green blades lit up by the mid-day sunlight. He surely did like Spring, especially with everything becoming alive. Gentle eyes went back to the Arabian in front of him, the smile still held upon his maw. CHARACTER ! RUNE. LYRICS ! There is an open door, somehow it feels so familiar. Naminé stiffened a little when he complimented her, she simply wasn't used to kind words these days. Just harsh grunts and curses from stallions attempting to get her rump before she could escape. His kindness and manners were so unfamiliar to her.. however, she was a bit suspicious of his behavior. Was he trying to 'woo' her, and then turn into the brutal stallion she was used to.
Pushing the musings out of her mind, she watched him a little closer. She noticed him backup, and wondered if she had done something wrong. Perhaps he was giving her space, which she no longer felt she needed. Still, in the back of her mind...
"Since winter. It's not a very homey place... not after awhile." Her yearning for companionship reared it's ugly head.

you're not alone, there is more to this i know, you can make it out, you will live to tell. Rune could tell something was bothering the mare still, and he flared his nostrils slightly. How could he convince Naminé that he wasn't like the others? Sighing softly, the stallion still kept his distance, his head tucked in toward his chest ever so slightly. "Yes, being alone does get boring after a while. How come you didn't go searching for a herd to join? I heard there are a few lighter herds that aren't too bad." He really should've taken his own advice and looked for a herd, but Rune wasn't really one to settle down until he felt it necessary, and he hadn't felt it necessary yet.
Flicking his gray tail slowly, the stallion thought about how he could get Naminé to trust his words. "Perhaps you would like to tag along with me, just so that you're not alone?" CHARACTER ! RUNE. LYRICS ! YOU'RE NOT ALONE.SAOSIN. [/blockquote]
