To survive.
..... Windy Where do you go, and what do you do when all that you had has been taken from you? Where do you go, and what do you do when you lose everything you ever knew?
The fire smoldered, it's toxic flames licking at the remains of the burnt trees that stood, hardly, in the clearing of ash. A fae watched, gaping in disbelief. Her breath came quick and uneven, her throat rough from inhaling the smoke. A sob broke in her chest. Windy forced her eyelids together, inviting the blackness that closed over her. But the smell of the burn did not leave her sineses, just as the crack of the flame did not subside. Where was everyone? Dead? Another sob sounded. In desperation to wake up from this living nightmare, Windy turned her shoulder to the north and dug her hind hooves into the dead ground. She barrelled through the underbrush, striking the land with delicate daggers. Long, tangled ebony tresses billowed behind her, snagging in branches, but she could care less. Cranium hanging parallel with the earth, orbs narrowed to slits, heart heavy with sorrow, she ran.
And here she found herself. Belle Valle, according to a passerby whom she had querried. The look of poorly disguised pity and fear in the horse's eyes burned in her mind. She imagined herself; unkept dreads, matted pelt, and hardly sane. The land was beautiful, but the nights were bitter. Wind battered her, and occasionally cold rain fell. But the worst was the hollow feeling in her heart, that made her stomach clench and her orbs wet. Windy was lonely.

Matrix The mare snorted, the scent of another equine entering her small nostrils. The small kath searched, finding another small mare. Pregnant bodice moved forward, a cold wind blowing over her. A small shudder was sent through her, the foal inside her moved around. Curved ears flicked as she watched the small mare. Matrix observed her for a few moments before calling to her. A shrill, but soft whinney was sent to the vixen. Arabian-type form trotted to her softly, not wanting to hurt the foal inside her. 'are you alone, vixen?' The mare asked, slightly out of breath. Since Altar wasn't doing much lately, except screwing her[her thoughts], Matrix was taking the job of gathering members upon her expecting self. She wasn't some helpless mare. Windy Where do you go, and what do you do when all that you had has been taken from you? Where do you go, and what do you do when you lose everything you ever knew?
The scent of another came unexpectantly. Windy was thankful to find it a fae, carrying the scent of milk on her. Pregnant. An airy whinny met her radiars. Obidiantly, Windy halted, turning her cranium to the direction the call emmited from. Sure enough, an equine soon paced into her sight, stopping before her. As she was querried, Windy remembered caution. Perhapes this fae came from dark lands; but she seemed friendly enough... "I am." She stated, keeping her voice neutrual. Her gaze swept over the femme, taking note of the bulging belly. Her back bent just slightly from the weight of the foal she carried, yet she held her crown high, showing no signs of the exahustion Windy assumed she must be feeling. What ever was this mare doing all on her lonesome? Windy shifted her weight, radiars flicking foreward and back in question.

ORPHEUS °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° A pair of icy orbs focused on the equine before him – two females. Orpheus’s nostrils flared as he took in the scents of both mares. One was claimed, pregnant with a young one; but, where was her mate? Had he allowed the fragile, pregnant brood to wander out here alone? Grunting, the young stallion considered his options. He was not necessarily intent on claiming both mares. He did not want to get into a fight with an older stag when his herd was so small, so he should not try and claim the one dubbed Matrix. But, was her mate around? Would he challenge Orpheus for the title to this new mare today? The stallion certainly could not scent the mate anywhere around. Orpheus shook his crown as he tried to force his mind to stop racing.
Orpheus saw no harm in trying, and he had no problem clashing with either mare if they saw him a threat. He was just here to try his luck in gaining new members, so he figured they wouldn’t fuss too much.
The stag stepped forward from his cover, a light nicker leaving his throat. “Well, hello ladies.”°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° word-count;; [194] 'O°C | |hope y’all don’t mind Orpheus jumping in; I need to get some more experience playing him

Windy Where do you go, and what do you do when all that you had has been taken from you? Where do you go, and what do you do when you lose everything you ever knew? The fae's dark orbs flashed in surprise as another equine emerged from the forests, this one a brute. She hurried to compose her expression into a cool mask, but she could not hide the panic that fought to be shown. It lingered in her gaze, and caused her to impaitently shift weight of her body continuously. She would have to remember the scent of others, as not ot make a fool of herself every time a new soul approached her. The femme drunk in his scent, and the other fae's, noting his musky smell and her sweet purfume. What does he want? Windy regarded his silently, dipping her skullary. Stray whisps of ebony forelock fell about her eyes, and she was greatful for them as she peered at him shyly.

Altar
So, you could say that Altar was stalking his mate. Of course, he wouldn't think it that way. He felt guilty about not leaving the lands and pulling his own weight around, but honestly it didn't matter to him if they had a herd or not. Personally, he wouldn't really enjoy looking over more horses other then his family. It was just the way he went, and they would have to expand if they decided to get more members, which he was sure what Matrix was doing. The eboney-and-white stallion tossed his head, cantering through Belle Valle with his nares flaring. He easily traced his vixen's scent, and soon spotted her along with another mare...and a stallion. Altar narrowed his chocolate eyes, snorting loudly to announce his presence as he slowed his pace and strolled over to the ground, whuffling softly to Matrix. He glanced at her barrel, and nodded his crown to himself. Everything was going well with her pregnancy, good. He studied the other two in turn, the sly stature of the femme and the pondering one of the stag. Auds flicked back as he looked dangerously at Orpheus, daring him to try and take his mate, but it didn't seem to be the case. Still, he didn't want to risk it.

Matrix 'good day.' The mare's soft vocals slipped from her mug. Another stallion. Suppose he was here to take the one she was going to take home. Orange eyes narrowed. 'altar.' It almost came as a hiss. 'did you not follow?' Glaring for a few minutes she turned back to the mare. 'i am matrix. do you pursue a home? i am of the light era.' Soft vocals spoke. Matrix glanced back to the other stallion. 'i suppose your here to claim? after hannibal passed, you took over the herd, bolin the wind and tuula?' Soft silver tassles blew as she raised her tiara. Hardly anything was kept secret on the island. [/blockquote] Muse` Garagh. ^-^ Song` Character` Matrix

Windy Where do you go, and what do you do when all that you had has been taken from you? Where do you go, and what do you do when you lose everything you ever knew? Windy's attention was averted back to the femme. "Greetings Matrix." She murmured politely, her breath faintly visible in the air as she spoke. The sun was making it's decent towards the horizon, and the temperature was dropping. "I am called Windy." A home would be nice." She did not answer directly, for she was still not entirely won over by this fae. As another stag entered the scene, her caution grew. They appeared to already be of aquaintence. But, she reminded herself, She is of the light. Windy herself was neutrual, the dispute over light and dark did not effect her, but the fact did soothe her. Windy listened paitently as the fae called Matrix spoke to the first brute, radiars pricking and flicking backwards. She did not entirely know what Matrix spoke of, but a new of the names she mentioned stirred up recognzation. She most likely had heard them from the nostalgic elder's of her old herd, whom had travelled far before settling.

Altar
Altar blinked as his mate scolded him, and his eyes narrowed in return and he whipped his banner in annoyance. Looked like someone flipped on her bitch switch, now did they? Either way, she shouldn't act like that in public infront of others. He glared back unwaverly, flaring his nares. "What of it?" he snapped. He glanced over at the other mare, nodding curtly to her and giving her a weak smile. Why take out his sudden irritation out on her? Windy didn't really say yes to Matrix, probably still deciding on whether to accept. The stallion stepped back as if to give each of them space, before slowly turning away. "See you in the lands, then, Matrix..." he said, almost unsurely. Shaking his head to himself, he trotted through the trees back towards his terra.

ORPHEUS °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Orpheus’s ears went back as he saw the other stallion enter the scene. The young stag made no aggressive attempt at the hessian though. Rather, he placed a charming smile ‘pon his kissers even as Matrix spoke to him of his brother and mother. “I am in these parts to gather members,” his words were spoken carefully; not wanting to say claim around a mare that already seemed on edge. He would try his hand at gathering the mare if she were willing, but he was not under the proper circumstance to fight for her as much as he loathed it. Orpheus was not as reckless as his mother gave him credit for – he actually had a good head on his shoulders which she should have seen by his manipulative ways.
“And, yes, I have inherited my father’s lands after his passing. I see the grapevine has carried the story quite the distance.” The large stag took a gentle step forward as his icy orbs cautiously watching the mare. He did not want her to flee after all of this. Though, on the other hand, it meant she would be fleeing Matrix and Altar too. He could then catch up with her later – the wind would guide him. He shook his crown. No. Cruel-hearted as he was, he enjoyed the game of manipulation much more. His force was better used for different circumstances.
Eyes drifted to the retreating Altar. Orpheus supposed he knew that it was not his mate that he had been interested in. That is not to say he would not take her if she was willing. But, right now he wanted voluntary members. Then he would have others to back him up when he did need to exert his force.
Noting that Windy seemed to have recognized his brother and mother’s names, he continued his reply to Matrix. “Indeed, my brother did reclaim the old wind herd, and as for my mother… she is with her new mate.” Orpheus grinded his teeth at the thought of his dear old mother and sibling.
Orbs turned towards Windy, his former smirk planted on his lips. “Although I did not come here to fight Matrix for the right to you; I would wish you to know you are welcome in my lands. I cannot tell you I am a light like her, for I was bred with the bloodlines of the dark, but you would be safe there,” if she didn’t cross any lines, that is. Having spoken, Orpheus ducked back a few steps. While he needed the members and hoped she would come with him, Orpheus would not be too disappointed if she did not. She seemed edgy after all, perhaps not able to survive in his lands. Plus, this was the first mare he had gone after, and he had not quite expected the competition.°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° word-count; ; [477] ' O°C | | whoo! Muse!

Matrix 'we haven't the members, orpheus. we have none, only my foal. you have quite few.' The ebony light almost snarled to the young one. Pregnant mood swings. Yet, would such a light go so dark? The kath moved light arabian form. Silver tassles slapped on ebony hocks. It was now Windy's choice. 'windy, which do you choose?' Welcoming smile was upon the mother's kissers. Bright orange eyes glanced back to the young stag. Matrix backed a few steps, throwing her tiara upwards. Ears flicked. A kick from the foal. The mare grunted softly, shifting her weight. Dished tiara tilted downward, silver forelock covering her eyes for a moment, waited as the foal shifted into a different position. Orange eyes were visible again as Matrix raised her dished tiara, saying nothing. [/blockquote] Muse` Song` Character` Matrix

Windy kept her tongue as Orpheus continued. She picked up on the part of his sibling claiming a wind territory. Did he also posses an element land? She blinked. When she was adressed, the fae pushed her radairs back, debating. "I....suppose I'll..." She shot an apologetic glance at Matrix, before turning to Orpheus. She squared her shoulders, lifting her maw, "I will come with you." She declared. So long as this saftey you promise is true.

Orpheus flashed one last smirk at Matrix before dipping his crown in the slightest bow. “Well, Miss Matrix, I do wish you and your babe well in your hunt, but with the dame having made her decision, I do feel that we must be off.” With that, the stag gently nudged Windy’s shoulder before starting a soft pace towards his herd lands. “Might I inquire your name now that you have chosen to join me?” He cooed, lying on his nice ties quite thickly to persuade the mare that she was making the right choice. But, would it last? It was hard to say. Orpheus had yet to really make his name in what type of a ruler he would be. “My tiding is Orpheus,” he offered to try and ease the mare’s mind; even though he knew she had heard Matrix say his name already.

Windy ....... Windy diped her head to Matrix in a last farewell, allowing Orpheus to lead her away. She willingly followed the brute, and listened as he spoke. "And I am Windy." She favored him a small smile, "Where are we going?" She asked the stag in a small voice, her shoulder brushing his hide. She fondled his face in her butterscotch gaze, analyzing his handsome features and wondering to herself. What will he do with me? She pursed her lips. She must stay on his good side, for she had heard whispered things about dark horses. Their cruelty and ambition.... Damn that. Not all were horrid.

ORPHEUS °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° A smug smirk found it way squirming onto the hellion’s kissers as he felt the mare’s gaze analyze his well-chiseled face. Light blue gaze drifted back from inside the rim of black that surrounded them. Snorting away the smugness that lined his features, Orpheus spoke, “Windy.” The stag spoke her name rather fondly, an almost whimsical tune in his melodies. “Such an interesting name all things considered,” he mused with his eyes cast forward once again. He made no attempt to explain what he had meant, perhaps not even realizing he had spoken aloud. Glancing back for one more brief moment as she spoke, Orpheus bobbed his crown lightly in recognition of her words. “We are headed to Inferno su Terra,” he paused to take in a deep breath of the sooty air. They were near his lands which lay rimmed with char. “The lands,” he forewarned, ” are brimmed with the remains of a great fire. But, in the dead center lies a fruitful paradise – a dense forest. And, in the center of the forest… there is a rather large clearing with a lake. The lake is the only real source of water besides a few scattered hot springs in the charred regions.” Stopping suddenly, the stallion pointed forward with his muzzle. If the mare cast her gaze forward, she would see that before them was a pit; that was where his land lay. The pit contained many barren acres, but as he said, in the midst of the pit was a large forested area too. “Watch your step,” he cooed, leading the mare down the sloped, rocky path that led down to Inferno su Terra. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° word-count;; [276] 'O°C | | You can make the next post in Inferno su Terra if you would like. : )
