Lassan glanced to her as she nipped on the shoulder. "Y'think you can go 'round trees faster n' me?" he asked, knowing it was true. "Well we'll see 'bout tha'. Go on. Give it yer best shot." he said as he turned a bit, leading them towrd an are with trees scattered here and there. He knew she would beat him. With any luck he would stay on his feet and not crash into something and/or fall over. That would be rather embarrasing. She would zoom around the barrels and he would have to slow down to keep up with her agility.

whiskey lullaby and when I lose myself I'll think of you together we'll be running somewhere new through the monsoon just me and you ►►► Smirking, the mare threw her head up slightly, her eyes watching the scattered trees. "Be prepared t' lose, Lass'n." Letting out a soft nicker, she raced forward with a burst of speed, nearing the closest tree, her tail flicking behind her in the soft breeze. She rounded it fairly quickly, a small bit of dust entering the air from where she turned, and she was heading onto the next tree, a wide smile appearing on her maw.

Lassan slowed his pace to an easy lope as he watched ehr head for the trees. She appraoched them with a smug look on her face. Lassan knew she that she would 'win' this little game, but it didn't matter, it was still fun. Lassan's pace quickened a bit as Whiskey galloped straight at a tree, bending around it like a snake would slither around a vine. She then broke off toward another tree. Lassan snorted and halted, waiting for her to finsh her little course before he did his own thing.

A few more twists around trees, and Whiskey slowed to a stop beside the black stallion. Flicking her tail over his rump, she smiled widely, breathing heavily. "Thar we go. Yer turn, Lass'n." She side-stepped slightly, half-prancing. Tucking her head into her chest, Whiskey flared her nostrils, watching Lassan. Boy, was he a stunner. She just couldn't take her eyes off of him. Lassan's chocolate optics stayed on Whiskey's form as as stopped next to him, her banner falling over his ebony hindquarters. "Very good." he said bobbibg his dished crown. He glanced to her as she told him that it was his turn. "Alrigh'. 'ere it goes." he said as he took off at a gallop toward the first tree. He counted his strides in his head and when he got to the tree, he made a rather sharp turn around. He slipped a bit, but not enough for anybody to notice his little goof. He snorted and barreled to teh next one, slowing down at the turn. He continued to run around a few more sets of trees before running back to Whiskey. With one more tree in his way, he sped around it, only this time to slip in the mud, causing him to lean so far that he was just milimetres from falling flat on his face. He halted next to Whiskey and gave her a lopsided smile.

just like a circus. | She had seen his stumble, and she let out a whinny-like laugh. Snapping her tail behind her, she nipped at his shoulder playfully when he stopped next to her. "Tha' was nice, Lass'n. I expect'd yeh t' fall ther' fer a minute. She stomped a fore hoof, and threw her head up slightly. What else were they going to do? Eyes glanced at the black stallion, and she flared her nostrils slightly. "Now wha' do yeh wanna do?" Side-stepping slightly, Whiskey didn't want to grow bored. She hated it when she got bored, because then she had to try and find something to do. And that usually ended in failure.

Lassan shot a teasing glare at her when she laughed at his little trip up. "Nah, wasn't gonna fall, just wanted t'see what y'd do. I had tha' turn all unda control." Lassan lied through his teeth, but with a smile on his face. Obviously Whiskey would know it was a load of crap, but hey, he had to protect his dignity in some way or another. Whiskey had won this little match, that was for sure. Lassan looked to her when she asked him what he wanted to do next. "Well, if you think you're so spiffy at runnin' 'round trees and such, hows 'bout tryin' some jumpin'?" he asked. If Lassan was good at one thing, it was jumping. If he had been born where his parents were, with the humans, they would have made him a prize winning jumper.

i like to move it, move it. | Okay, so she would totally lose if they were to jump. Flicking her dark tail behind her body, she threw her head up in the air once again, eyeing the stallion. "Show me yer best," she challenged, flicking ears slightly as she spoke. Hooves danced in place, eager to get going. She wasn't that good at jumping, but she could do some damage. Perhaps Lassan was better than her in this one thing? Flaring her nostrils slightly, she waited for him to start.

Lassan shot a cocky smile at the vixen. Oh, he would definatly show her 'his best'. "Are y'ready t'be beaten Whiskey?" he asked her as he picked up a trot, leading her to the place where fallen logs and ditches were. Some of the obstacles were an easy jump, the others not so mush. "Here's how this'll go, I jump one, then y'do one. Got it? It should be easy." The ebony snorted and proceeded to trot toward a fallen log that was probably half a metre off the ground. He quickly popped over it with extreme ease and halted several strides away and turned around. "Your turn miss Whiskey." he called with a smile.

temptations falling and calling you home again |Flicking her ears slightly, Whiskey followed after the stallion, her head tucked into her chest slightly. Watching him jump over the log, she tilted her head to the side slightly and flared her nostrils. "Ah. Jumpin'." She hesitated slightly, then moved forward at a slow canter, her hooves making a small thudding sound on the ground. Muscles bunched under her as she jumped over the log, landing neatly on the other side. Eyes sparkled in excitement, and she side-stepped. Lassan smirked, knowing that he was going to win this comptition. Well, he hoped he would. It would be humiliating to be beaten by Whiskey twice in one day. She'd never let him live that down. Hell, half the herd wouldn't let him live it down if they found out about it, which he was pretty sure that they would either from one of them passing by and telling the others, or from one of the ravens that roamed the land. Those bloody birds always spread the word of anything and everything so fast. He loved them like herd members though since they had saved him on several occasions.
Lassan's chocolate optics focused on the vixen as she broke into a smooth, rolling canter heading toward the log. As she moved forth, she tucked her dainty head into her chest, making her looks like a fancy jumper, not a Southern cowhorse. He held his breath as she jumped, prefectly. He was surprised by how wonderfully she had executed that jump. Where had she learned to jump like that?
"Alrigh' next one." he said, turning to the left, so he was facing some tall bushes that looked like hedgerows. They were a bit taller than the log, and much wider. About seven or eight strides beyond that was a muddy ditch with a sad excuse for a creek that ran through it. A nice little jumping line.
Lassan smiled at her before taking off at a slow canter. At the hedgerow, he easily popped over it, tucking his front legs up neatly against his ebony chest. He landed, only making a slight sound when his hind legs touched the hard ground. He snorted, bucked, and swished his tail and he adujsted his pace, slowing, but extending his gait. He flew over the ditch jump as well, halting four strides away and looking to Whiskey with one brow raised.
