Arrats Breed Information
*please reply to this thread for creating your Arrats*
The Arrats seemed to have disappeared from Isola Dei Dei. In truth, they were just rarely seen. These equines are nocturnal, moving by night when few others were awake. Slowly over the past few years groups have begun to gather. These dark beasts would not settle for their nomadic groups, but they would not rejoin their old lands not until a descendant of their old leader made it known that it was time for them to return. This true leader of the Arrats, Erebos, has finally appeared upon his homelands to reclaim what is rightful to the Arrats. In these lands his herd will gather once more and plot their next move. The Arrats are as eager as the Zunden to attempt a hostile takeover of Isola Dei Dei.
Average Height:
Mares - 13.2hh - 15hh
Stags - 14hh – 15.3hh
(not over, not under)
They are a stockier breed, making up for the short height.
Personality:
They are a dark breed that is cruel to those who do not belong in their herd. No mortal breeds are welcome; and those with blood that is mixed with their own are kept as minions or slaves depending on their commitment to the herd. Within the herd, the equines get along except when it comes to the fight for power. Despite their masochistic nature, they can be very tender to their mates and loved ones. The herd is like family, and you do not cross family.
Powers: The Arrats powers are gifted to them by the night sky but granted by the current lead stallion. He has the power to give or take powers to anyone he sees fit. All night horses will start with only the first power, Knowledge of the Night Sky. (Powers are not necessarily granted in order, may be taken away from a herd member at any time, and those with an asterisk are exclusive – reason will be explained in the power’s description.)
1. Knowledge of the Night Sky: This is the only power that all Arrats are born with and that cannot be taken from them. This power grants them with the knowledge of every star, planet, or event in space.
2. Night Vision: This allows the Arrat to see everything around them at night. While activated, their eyes glow.
*3. Night Glow: This power is exclusive to the Arrats with markings that are B2, B3, or B4; these markings, when the power is activated by the holder, will glow brightly in the moonlight. This is useful for allowing other Arrat members to see them or just for their own entertainment and play.
*4. Shadow Forge: This power is exclusive to the lead stallion and mare and their descendants only. This power allows the Arrat to summon a dark shadow to engulf an area up to an acre in size for up to three minutes. This power is useful to all night horses with night vision, however it consumes a large amount of energy making it hard for Arrat that cost it to even stay conscious after the three minutes has passed.
5. Shooting Stars: This power allows the caster to summon burning globes to fall from the sky at his/her opponent. These burning globes can hurt any equine struck by them except for the Zunden with their heat tolerance.
6. Stealth: At night, an Arrat with this power will seem to completely disappear to anyone that is not an Arrat. However, this slows down the movement of the equine to a mere walk.
*7. Moonlight Heal: This is where the exclusive colors on line D (see below) come into play – moonlight heal allows these rare Arrats to completely heal one equine with a beam of moonlight shooting down from the sky above. This power can be used at day or night, but it is very draining, and is only available to the equine once a week.
The Colors:
Coat Colours: Choose one (1) from any of the four colors on line A. On rare occasion an Arrat may be born one of the two colors from line D.
Mane + Tail Colours: Choose up to two (2) from any of the eight colors on lines A and B.
Markings: Their coats are dark, normally with lighter shaded markings to represent the night sky; however some darker markings can be found. There may be up to two different colors used on markings. This includes but is not exclusive to striped, spotted, brindled, roaned, or paint effects. (For instance, a horse’s base coat color might be #1A with #4B and #3B marking colored paint splashes and then a #3B crescent shaped mark.) One of the markings must be in the shape of a star or crescent, full, or half moon on all pure bloods. The Halflings do not normally have this mark.
Marking Colours: Choose up to two (2) from any of the four colors on line B.
Eye Colours: Choose from any of the six colors on line B or C.
