Artemis lay quiet in the ever-melting snow. It was finally starting to turn warmer, but spring had not yet arrived. Her breaths came in short huffs, feeling the alternating pain in her abdomen and back. There was nothing she could do now. The foal was way overdue and it was coming. Whether the world was ready or not. She hoped it was the first.
A small whine escaped out of her velveteen kissers. Her once shiny and pristine pelt was now sweaty and plastered to her mane, despite the cool air. She felt her muscles tighten again and she braced herself. This is just great... She thought. How much longer would she have to take of this? Artemis lay her head down upon the snow-covered ground. It felt good against her pelt. She concentrated on the task ahead and watched the clouds slowly pass by.

Masquerade had been wandering around the lands for the past few hours, looking for something to do, or some one to talk to. The only thing he found was a little sparrow that wouldn't shut it's gob, so he just walked away from it as it carried on talking about pancakes and pineapples, what ever those were. Masquerade figured that they were human things that he did not know about. Afterall, he couldn't just fly place to place like the sparrow could.
His head shot up as he caught the scent of Artemis. He broke into a trot and slowed when he saw her on the ground. The only thing he could think of was that she was in foal. He slowly walked up to her and put his maw on hers as she continued to foal.

She squinted her orbs as she saw the form of an equine approaching. His shape grew larger, until she recognized him...Masquerade. Good. He would be here to see his foal. She sighed into his nares as he placed his maw on hers. Masquerade. His name blew like a breeze out of her own maw. Kissers pulled into a soft smile, but a sharp pain rippled through her bodice again and it was quickly lost.
She moved her banner out of where the foal would soon be laying. It's tiny hooves appeared fairly quickly and before she knew it, the wet bundle lay in the grass, taking in short breaths. Instincts kicked in immediately and she shifted her bodice around so that she could clean off her new little joy. She breathed in it's fresh scent. As she cleaned off the little one she took note that it was a girl. Nares blew into her filly's tiny ones and she continued cleaning her, still aware of Masquerade. Stella she whispered softly. The little foal's name was perfect. Artemis marveled at her looks. Exactly like her father's dark coloring with white streaks in her mane and tail. The only pieces of Artemis that decorated her.
Orbs finally turned upward to look at Masquerade and her kissers pulled into a smile once more.

Masquerade stood by Artemis' crown as she continued to push the foal out. He watched as the ivory vixen moved her banner out of the way as the tiny daggers of the foal could be seen. Within a minute or two, the foal was quickly out at Artemis' feet. Masquerade stepped back as Artemis swung her crown around to clean off her newborn. "Colt or filly?" Masquerade asked her.

Artemis continued cleaning the tiny foal off until it was spotless. Filly she answered Masquerade. The little one was finally moving around and Aremis's heart squeezed in her chest. She moved her pillars out from under her bodice and raised herself up, waiting for Stella to do the same. She stretched her maw out and nuzzled her, trying to push her up as well.

Lassan smiled when she answered with filly. "Do you have a name for her Artemis?" the brute asked the ivory fae. Masquerade figurede that she probably did have aname picked out for the filly already, he was just curious as to what it would be.
Masquerade stepped back as Artemis rose to her feet, encouraging the little filly to do the same. Masquerade smiled once more at Artemis and touched his velvet kissers to her neck. His orbs drifted to the filly and he let out a soft whuffle to her as she tried to get on her feet.

Artemis smiled back to Masquerade as he leaned in to touch her. A small sigh escaped her kissers. It had been a while since she'd seen him. Maw reached out in return and caressed his smooth coat. She heard his question and replied, I've been toying with the idea of Stella, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? She wanted his input, too. He was her father. Orbs returned to their filly as she struggled again to get up, but fell backwards. Bodice leaned forward and pushed her back up again, waiting patiently for her to regain her balance and try again. Her gangly legs stretched out again and, this time, succeeded in standing up, though she was slightly wobbly. Artemis took a few steps closer and nickered softly, praising her. For the first time, the little filly found her mother and began to suckle. Artemis smiled and looked back to Masquerade, all smiles.

Masquerade letout a soft whuffle when her kisseres touched his ebony pelt. He was glad to be here iwth her and their daughter. He closed his obs for a split second before Artemis started to speak. She suggested the name Stella and then looked to Masquerade to see what names he had in mind. Truth was, Masquerade didn't have a clue. He looked down to the little filly for a moment and then returned his attention back to Artemis. "Stella is perfect."
Masquerade had a small smile on his features as the filly attempted to get up. After a few failed attempts she finally managed to get off the ground and start to suckle. Artemis looked to the filly and then back to Masquerade. "She's beautiful." he said to Artemis.

Artemis smiled glad he liked the name. Stella it is then. Her velvet kissers brushed her daughter's fuzzy coat as she said so. The little filly finished suckliing and blinked blindly at the world around her. She let out a tiny nicker to both of the adults that stood by gazing at her. All Artemis could do was smile at the little one that they had created. Thank you, Masquerade. She looked around, spotting no other horses. Quix will want to know, won't he? She asked of Masquerade.

The roan vixen nickered. This she did not like, her auds were back in a threatning matter. A growl ripped from her chest, throwing into a snarl. "Masquerade, you have no clue what you have gotten yourself into with Quixtant... And me." her pefect white ivories glistening. The gypsey was just inches below her mate, but still... The fily's reaction to a half sister wasn't good. She did the same as her mother, but threatned to nip at the new foal. "Daddy?? What's the meaning of this filth over there?" she wrinkled her little muzzle and nodded to Stella. She was growing every day, Only Seven months. And up to her mother's shoulder.....

Artemis took a step forward, baring her white ivories. She was in no position to fight the mare, as she had just given birth, but she was prepared to do anything for Stella. How dare you... Cold, hard orbs glanced from mother to daughter. Quixtant knows that I had a foal by Masquerade. Her muscles were tensed and remained rigid beneath her still slightly sweaty pelt.
Stella remained by her mother's side, not knowing what was going on. She had no clue who the other two horses were and didn't know what the other filly had against her. Tiny bodice stood as close as possible to her mother's hind pillars barrel, maw touching her pelt for comfort.

The vixen snarled, her lips curling up, showing her perfect ivories. The vix glowered, "Yes, but I have info that he doesn't." Jeannie laughed darkly. "Watch yourself. I can have either one of you banned, prisoners, or your little filth killed." her ivories snapped. She reared to her full height, her auds layed back, teeth bared, her pink and black 'udder' showing. Her pillars flailed at the vixen, hoping to smack her one right square in the jaw. "Massy, come on dear, I need to discuss matters in our cave, you can see her later." she smiled through gritted teeth at him, muzzling her foals' sire. Her cool breath blew over his nares seductivly and she giggled. She knew her mate couldn't resist knocking up vixens, her flourescent blue optics stared into his...

Jigsaw
The colt hadn't been far behind his mother and sister, but yet some how managed to get 'lost'. When he finally found his mother and Champagne, they were with three other equines. The colt's orbs glanced at his father and then to a white mare and her newly born foal.
Jigsaw walked over to his mother's side and asked "Mum, what's going on?" When he didn't get an answer from her, he turned to Champagne. "What's happening here Champagne?" he asked his twin sister, his crown turned in her direction. He snorted after his mother readred up at the white mare and told his father to come along. Jigsaw rolled his orbs and turned around, not really caring what this was all about.
Masquerade
Stella certainly was going to grow up to be a beautiful vixen one day, Masquerade knew it. He smiled at Artemis when she thanked him. He opened his maw to speak when he saw Jeannie and Champagne come out into the open. Masquerade knew Jeannie was going to start something the moment she saw Stella and Artemis.
And he was right. Right when she halted, Jeannie strated to yell at him about some kind of trouble he was in. "Alright Jeannie." he said with a rather annoyed sigh. Masquerade then glared at Champagne when she called Stella filth.
Masquerade stepped closer to Artemis as Jeannie startd to get meaner. Masquerade would never let either one of them get killed. Jeannie then reared up at Artemis. Masquerade stepped infront Artemis just incase Jeannie did get a hit. Jeanie then blew in his nares and told him to come one, using her pet name Massy for him. How he despied being called Massy. He made a look of disgust when she said tht name. He then looked to Artemis and whispered. "Do you want me to stay? It'd probably be better if I go with her, and thn you and Stella won't have to deal with this. If you can, take Stella to see Quixtant."

The vixen smirked. She had to get dirtier. "Run along kids." she cooed to her foals, they obeyed. As they were gone, she tured around, heading off. Her sweet perfume escaped her and danced into Massy's nares. Artemis was looking the other way, she winked her flower. The the other mare turned back around(I did that becasue Vellyo said we need to start a post so I did that so he would hurry XD), she cooed, "Come along, love." Her bannar ached, her back dipped, waiting for him...[/color]

Artemis snorted as Jeannie reared on her. She took a calculated step backward missing her hoof by inches. She felt the power of her blow woosh by her dome. She stamped her foot in annoyance at the site of Jeannie acting like such a fool. Whatever. She thought and turned around to nuzzle Stella, making a point of ignoring all of the insults directed their way. Harks heard Masquerade's vocals telling her to go with Quixtant and asking if he could go with Jeannie. Fine. She didn't care one bit. That little whore could go get knocked up again for all she cared. Orbs narrowed on Jeannie's retreating form and she quickly turned with a wave of her banner and guided Stella away from the two, searching for Quixtant.
Stella snorted and backed slowly as the mare thrashed at her mother. Though she still didn't know who she was, she had no doubt that they were a danger and the tone of her voice told her that they were indeed not friends. Her mother said a parting word and led them away. Her new legs couldn't carry her fast, but she matched her mother's slower pace.
