whiskey lullaby she put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette -------------------------------------------------------- What exactly was she doing here? Flicking her ears forward ever so slightly, the bay quarter horse trotted through the slowly changing scenery of Belle Valle, her black forelock hanging before her brown eyes. Shaking her head ever so slightly, she snorted, her nostrils flaring as the scent of many wildflowers came to her. The smell was intoxicating, making her want to go run to the pretty petals and roll in them. But she wasn't a little filly any longer. No, Whiskey Lullaby was four years old, and should be mature enough to not go roll around in petty little flowers. Flicking her dark tail behind her stocky body, the mare paused at a small patch of those wild smelling flowers, and snorted at them. "'n th' flowers come out t' play. I do hope yer not always this cheerful lookin' when o'her horses appear," the foreign mare drawled, her southern accent wavering ever so slightly as she smirked. However, the flowers stayed still and silent, and she moved on, glancing around her at the strange secenery. It sure was different than back in the States, where there were nothing but pine trees surrounding the pasture she lived in. Her and her owner had been on a boat passing by the island, when the boat sank, her owner being killed, and the mare managing to swim to the island.
How a horse survived while a human did not, Whiskey would have never known. Pausing at the treeline, the Light snorted, yet again, and lowered her head. She nipped at the spring grass, tasting the sweetness of it in her mouth, and she smiled. She hadn't had real food for weeks now, and this newly discovered place, at least to her, was suitable to sustain the hunger pains that grew through her.

Daggers struck the ground in a rythmical three beat pace. Beautiful arabian neck arched and shook. Pure ebony form hidden in the shadows of the trees.. Three beat gait soon slowed to a long, slow two beat trot. He soon stopped not far from a small stream of cool, clear flowing water. He walked up to it. He dipped his maw down do drink the crystal clear liquid that flowed. When he had quenched his thirst his head shot up at the sound of something nearby. His ebony orbs looked for what was making the sound. Auds flicked to search for it. He heard something a few yards in front of him. He got into a stance that would let him fight or flee. He watched. Nothing. He kept on watching. He knew something was in there. He soon let his guard down when a doe and her newly born fawn stepped out of the bushes. He nodded his head to her as a sign that he meant no harm to her or the fawn. She nodded back and walked on with her fawn. He smiled as they left. He was glad that deer did not mean any harm, for every equine would be in danger. The island had many deer on it. They were still rareluy seen though. Such elusive creatures. He had always wondered how they kept from those that would cause them harm.
Soon after the deer had left, he picked up a brisk trot. His powerful hindquarters propelled him along the groudn. He snorted and bucked, moving into a fast canter. He stayed along the water's edge. The river soon grew wider and deeper. He slowed down as a gut of warm air blew through his charcoal mane, and whipped it around his neck. The wind carried the scent of a fellow equine somewhere ahead of him. He threw his head and slowly walk on. His auds and orbs darted around looking for the other equine somewhere. He walked for about five or six minutes when her scent was stronger. He walked in the direction it ha come from. The river began to size down now. He new it was probably ending in a pond or a small lake up ahead. As he moved the trees became less dense as he neared the clearing. He stopped when he saw the form of another equine a few hundred yards away from himself. He whinnied cautiously, for he did not if they were a friend or a foe. He was ready either way.

whiskey lullaby she put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette -------------------------------------------------------- The whinny of another caused her head to lift from the ground, and ears tilted forward cautiously. Whiskey's tail snapped behind her bay body, and hooves moved her to face this unknown horse head on. "Aye, there isn't a need t' fear, stallion. I am not a foe yeh need t' be so fearful 'bout." Her words were soft as she nickered them, ears flicking ever so slightly as her drawl came to her ears. She sounded foreign even to herself, where she thought she was used to the Southern drawl she had acquired while living upon her human companion's ranch. Snorting slightly, nostrils flared as she threw her head up, surveying the stallion with dark eyes. By the looks of things, he wasn't one to mess lightly with. The aura of dominance was apparent even from far away. Whiskey chuckled under her breath and flicked her tail boredly behind herself.

His ebony audits flicked as her soft lyrics floated through the warm air. She had a lovely voice. Lassan smiled as she drawled out her words. She was abviously not from around here. If he had to guess, she was from the souther UnitedStates. Now he didn't know where that was, he just knew where different accents were from since he met so many new equine on a daily basis.
Lassan shook his crown and began to walk forth, he crown lowered to show that he too didn't mean any harm. " 'ello lass." Lassan said as he halted several meters in front of the vixen. His accent was a strnage one, a mix between Scottish and Irish. The Scottish was more prominent though. The strange thing was Lasasn was born and raised on the isle. His mother had come from Scotland and his father, from Ireland. Growing up with the two, he had come to speak with both accents. Being around his mother more made the Scottish more prominent.
"They curse me Lassan." he said with a with a slight bow and a flick of his ebonite banner. "What would be the curse of a lovely lass like yourself?"

whiskey lullaby she put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette -------------------------------------------------------- "I'd be Whiskey Lullaby, Whiskey fer short. Ple'sure t'meet yeh, Lass'n." She lowered her head in a bow, and then brought her head up to look at him with her brown eyes. Dark tail flicked behind her bay body, as she shifted her weight due to her boredom. "'ny particular reason why yer here? Per'aps lookin' fer ano'her mare t'join yer herd?" She smirked, and brought her head toward her chest. A forehoof lifted off from the ground, then stomped back onto it, ears swiveling forward. If Lassan didn't do anything else, she would be off in a heartbeat. She sure grew bored easily.

Lassan tumbled her name around in his mind. Whiskey Lullaby. It was a beautiful name. " S'pleasure to meet you as well Whiskey." he said with a small bow. Lassan noticed that teh vixen had become quite the fidget. He figured that she was either a very entergetic individual, or she got bored rather quickly.
His ebony auds flicked as he melody hit the air again. "As it s'happens, yes I am lookin' for 'nother herd member." he said with a smile. "Would y'be interested in joinin' Whiskey?" he asked her.
ooc// im sorry, but i think my muse flew out the window.

whiskey lullaby its a war in your bedroom, baby. cut off my tongue for just a taste. -------------------------------------------------------- Ears swiveled at the prospect of joining a wild herd of horses. Smirking ever so slightly, the feisty mare threw her head up slightly. "Join yer herd? Why wouldn't I want ta? I've been wanderin' 'round 'n 'round in circles, 'n I think its time t'settle down." Her tail flicked behind her body body, as she stared at the stallion before her. "Although, do realize, tha' I won't take too kindly to 'ny hoss tha' doesn't mind their ways. Rudeness 'n snootiness are n't tolerated in m'books" Brown eyes narrowed slightly, and she stomped a hoof on the ground as if to prove her point to the stallion. A faint smile then flitted across her muzzle and she took a step forward. "Lead th' way, then, Lass'n."

Lassan's auds swiveled as she spoke. He smiled at bit at the sound of her lyrics. He truely loved the way her voice sounded, the deep southern US twang. Lassan smile grew a bit as she agreed to join his herd. "I'm glad tha' you wan' to join the herd miss whiskey." he said with a nod of his crown. His auds twitched at her next words. "I can assure you tha' no one in the herd is like tha' lass. You'll love it there." He softly snorted and moved a bit closer to her. "Follow me." he said as he walked past her in the direction of his land.
