Artava yawned as she circled her sleeping spot. She layed down in it, and stayed alert as well as she could. BEing pregnant tired her, and it was becoming evident she was on her way to becoming a mother.
She waited for whoever would approach her, but she hoped it wasn't that pety one that cried all the time. Artava hated her, already.
"Oh..I hate being in foal. I liked the breeding part better."
She whispered.

Lassan trotted through his lands, checking on his herd of mares and the one stallion he had. He was glad that he finally had another stag in his land. He shook his crown and trotted to a patch of higher grass. He then saw Artava, who was laying down. He whinnied in greeting to her.

Artava looked up to see..him. She did't even think of his name. She didn't wanna see him. She was fed up with everyone else. Falling for Lassan....she hated having to share them. Half of the mares here don't even know how old he was and they where already 'In Love'. Right.
She was also angered at him for calling her 'Just Another Herd Member.' to thar other mare. She looked away, and stood up. She groaned in pain as her large, fat stomach sagged to the hock high grass. She hated looking fat in front of him.
"Hi." She mutterd in a soft tone, looking away.

Lassan heard her mutter a simple hello. She did not seem to happy. "Hello." he said with a simple nod of his ebonite head. He wondered what could be wrong, well her foal for one thing, but other than that he didn't know what could be wrong with her. He walked over to her and asked "How are you?"

Veins protruded from her fine head. Her eyes had lost there shine, filled with sadness and anger, and a pinch of love for the one she was forced to share, Lassan.
She let her nostrils flutter as she thought over his questain. No, she wasn't. And she wasn't going to lie, either. She would show Lassan she deserved him more then the others. But right now, she didn't want to see him.
Maybe it was the mood swings due to her foal. No..it couldn't be. These fellings where to real. She flicked her ears, petite and small, with a pointed, mocha brown tip.
"No, I'm not." She said, flickered her black tail. Her 'fat' stomach gave her a bloated look, even though she hadn't eaten in a while. She knew she had to, to keep her milk, but she just wasn't hungry. Not one bit.
"It's just, I'm a bit upset about the way it is around here. It's not you, Lassan. It's..it's the others." She said plainly, not letting her voice ooze like honey to put Lassan in a trap. She was done with that..for now. She was upset.
"And if all you think of me is that I'm just another herd member, I'm not sure how I feel about carring your foal." She said very sternly, and her face dropped as soon as she said it. How could she? Now Lassan would think all she is is a complainer.
She looked away. She wanted to say sorry, but hey, she wasn't sorry-Just ashamed and embarresed, and upset as hell. She hoped he wasn't to shocked or mad, but he deserved it. Or so she thought.

Lassan listened as they vix spoke. She said that she was upset with they way things were in the herd and the other herd members. Lassan knew what she meant. It hadn't bother him one bit, since that was how his herd was when he was younger, it just seemed so .... right to him. He never knew that it bothered her. He was ashamed for that. He wanted every equine in his herd to be happy or atleast content. "I'm sorry." He said still mulling it over in his head. "It's just that I grew up with things run exactly like this my whole life." He spoke quietly, still thinking. His towers moved as she spoke again. This time she said that she heard him say that she was 'just another herd member'. Lassan didn't deny that he said that. "I don't think of you as tht. I just really didn't know how to put it. I should have said that she was the beta of the land." He lowered his fine head just a bit. He looked to her with his ebony optics. He stamped a dagger for no reason, the wind picked up and a steady breeze rushed through Terra Delle Liberta.

Artava smiled. Beta? The foal kicked and she winced in pain. Nostrils flutterd, tail flicked. "It's ok, Lassan. I love you..but I need a rest. I think It will be time..soon."
She nipped her side, then let her thin nostrils come close to Lassan and she nuzzled him lovingly. She knew he wouldn't be to mad.

Lassan smiled at her. He sighed, his herd was growing bigger and stronger each day. He nuzzled her back not really thinking about her, or the herd. He was thinking about what he had herd from a certian blue bird. Lasasn flicked his tail as a few misquitos landed on him. He pulled his head quickly way from the bay when an owl screeched over head. Lassan looked to her not saying a word.
ooc// who is this blue bird? you will find out
