The tension between the two mares was so thick, Revenant could cut it with a knife. The frost lord didn't understand why there was a sudden friction between and it caused him to become more flustered than before. Stomping a hoof on the frozen terrain, he let a few snowflakes fall over Catalyst's coat, trying to mend the small scrapes he was just starting to notice. His own seared flesh was healing, albeit slower than normal due to the wound being made by another elemental. But it would heal, Revenant would make sure it would. It'd scar, but that was the least of his worries at the moment. An ear twitched as the two exchanged greetings, but he didn't interject as another awkward silence fell over the trio.
A shake of his mighty head, and the Heilo lord turned away from the two mares, looking to his newborn daughter. After a few hesitant moments, he walked over to Nieve's side, lowering his muzzle to snuffle at her coat. She was the prettiest little thing he had seen, aside from her mother and Aithne. As the thought of Aithne being one of the prettier mares he had seen, he lifted his nose away from his daughter, stealing a glance at the Zunden mare. Underneath the mare's current state, he knew how she really looked and how she was. It was what drawn Revenant to the fiery female at first. Breathing out in frustration, his attention went back to his daughter, attempting to wake her. A foal wasn't supposed to sleep this much, was it?
"Come on, little one. Time to get up. I know you must be exhausted, but you can sleep later," his voice was soft, calm, something it hadn't been in so long. There was a strength to it that made him feel better, helped mend the shattered emotions that waged a constant war in the grey lord since Catalyst's first disappearance from Felwood. Perhaps this little bundle of joy was the key to mending the pair's relationship? Perhaps, there would be a good outcome after all? The stallion didn't know what would happen in the end, but all he knew at the moment, was that he wanted to provide a wonderful place for Nieve to call home. To protect her from the world. Until the day he takes his last breath.
