Maye you should make a new picture. Like a bunch of random horses running or like two foals playing in a river. Ya know. something more spicy. If you want to you can change the colors. To liek red and green-or what's the closest holiday...Halloween-- Make a festive layout.

The colour scheme needs an update. I think stick with the blue and green tone, but different shades. Also, how proboards have the little images for boards that have recent posts/ old posts etc? the little white horses. Maybe a different position for each one. A grazing horse for unposted boards, rearing for those really popular boards.
The mainimage, I agree with Itasca, a herd of horses. We could all draw a horse each and put it all into one image or something. Maybe a layout/banner contest is in order.
