Shaking her head, the pinto mustang slowly walked through the lush grasses, tail swaying behind her small body. Nostrils quivered, taking in the scents of all the previous horses that had been there. Head lifted up, deep brown eyes looking around. Malifex was cautious, knowing something could be lurking anywhere within this new place. She snorted, shaking her head, forelock falling down in between her eyes. Stopping underneath a large tree, Malifex stood still, her shoulder twitching ever so slightly as a fly landed on her delicate skin. She was tempted to bite at the insect, but it disappeared before she could even turn her head to look at him.
Ears tilted back on her head, an eagle calling overhead. Brown eyes went to the sky, cursing the clouds that floated across it. Lowering her head, she sniffed at the grasses, which swayed as a soft breeze blew around the mare and the land.

Ebonite stag trotted through the lands, his obsidian banner held high. He lifted his maw into the warm, humid air and whiffed it. His auds perked a bit as he caught the scent of another equine. His strong pillars took him farther, carrying him to where the equine was. He began to canter in thatdirection. A run would do him good. He had not gone running in a few days, and for him, that was pure torture. He bucked happily as he cantered along. The scent of the equine grew bolder. He could now tell that this stranger was a mare. He slowed to a trot and then down to a fast walk as he entered a small clearing. Up ahead a few metres, he saw a pinto. She looked to be of Mustang heritage. He let out a whinny in greeting to her.

The sound of another horse was introduced to her ears, and they swiveled on top of her head, which was brought up from the ground. Deep brown eyes scanned around her, finally picking up on the stallion that had greeted her. A short nicker ruptured her silence, and tail swayed gently against her hind legs, as she stood there. Nostrils quivered, curiousity searing through her body. Boy, this would be very interesting. Malifex lowered her head once again, and tore some more grass from the Earth.
Turning her head slightly, she shielded her left side of her face, which had a nasty looking scar running from the bottom of her eye to her nose. It was faint, but it still shone in the scarce sun that beat down.

His auds pricked as she whickered back to him. She didn't seem like a threat, but then again looks can be decieving. He decided that he would go up to her. He saw she had turned a bit and continued to graze, obviously not at all bothered by his presence. "Hello." He spoke out as he was only a few feet from her painted bodice. "I am Lassan, God of Terra Delle Liberta. My I ask for you name, m'lady?" His lyrics were sent out. His voice was soft yetr strong. He had an accent, a mix of Irish and British. His mother had come from Britian and his father had been from Ireland. Growing up with the two, he had picked up on both accents. He swished his ebony banner at flies that decided to bite into his flesh.

"I would be Malifex, Lord Lassan," she said simply, keeping her head turned so that he wouldn't see the scar. It messed up her pretty features, dragging down part of her left nostril. Some of the skin had been torn off completely, and was just now beginning to grow new hair on it. The pinto still felt self-concious about her wound, and knew others stared at it. She did not, in any way, feel as pretty as she had when she was younger. Tail slapped the air behind her painted body, as she stood there, ears flicked forward, one eye still on the stallion.

"Pleasure to meet you Malifex." he said with a small respectful bow. He then noticed she turned a bit again, like she was trying to hide something on the otherside of her. What could it be? A blind eye? A nasty wound? He would find out later. He once had a mare in his herd, who thought she could never show her face to any one because of her blind eye. "Where is it that you are from Malifex?" he asked the painted vixen. He always liked to know where one had come from. Even if they were a native of the isle or from another far off country. He stamped a dagger at more flies.

"Far off from here, in the Americas. I was taken from my herd, my family, my home, brought to Italy. I managed to escape, and found my way to this isle. Humans helped me escape, some people in a boat helped me swim to shore here," her voice cracked, and finally, Malifex turned her head to look at him dead on. Her eyes bore into him, almost challenging him to comment on the nasty scar running the length of her once pretty face. Tail slapped again, and she flared her nostrils, awaiting his comment.

His auds were pricked as she spoke about where she came from. To be ripped away from your herd, it had to be horrible. He felt bad for her. Why would humans help her on this island? Did they know about it? Yes they must. In the past few years more horses had been brought here then by humans then before. He had been born on this island so he had not seen s human, he had only heard about them from other equines. She then turned her head to show a long scar running down her face, from the base of her optic down to her nostril. Lassan did not say anything about it or even glance at more than once. What was on the outside of one didn't matter to him. He just continued to converse with her. "So how long have you been on this island?"

"About a week or so. I have been hiding from any horses, just now got the courage to come out into the open," Malifex wasn't that sociable, liking to hide rather than appear. Two-toned ears flicked forward, and her nostrils quivered. However, the left one hardly moved, due to the nasty scar. Shaking her head, Malifex lowered it toward the ground once more, snuffling slightly.

He thought that she must be shy or she didn't want equines to see her scar. "Well I hope you don't mind me being here." If she didn't want him around he would leave her, of she did he would stay. He watched as shse lwered her dial to the ground and snuffled. Lassan flicked his ebony banner and then looked up to the sky, dark clouds were rolling in from the mainland and a stong breeze picked up. He looked to Malifex and said "Storms commin'."

A small smirk appeared on her muzzle, and Malifex shook her head. "I don't mind, honestly." At the mention of the storm, her brown eyes looked up, noting the dark clouds. Eh. Those will be nothing like the ones I faced on the plains back in the Americas." Tail swept behind her slowly, as she shook her head, her forelock spilling down between her eyes. "Though, the rain is going to get annoying." Snorting, she pawed the ground slightly, ears tilting back as another wave of air was pushed around them with the oncoming storm.

"what was it like, in America?" he asked. Lassan always loved to learn about different countries. He looked back up to the skies. He hoped the storm wouldn't last that long, but it might. The land was going into fall and then to winter, so there would be more rain an it would get cooler. Another gust of wind came, sending his banners to whip around hid huanches and his neck.

"Well, where I lived, it hardly ever snowed. Except for high up in the mountains. There were vast plains of yellow grass, trees scattered here and there. My lead ruled lands that had a small lake in it, and we always would run around in the shallows when it got unbearably hot." She smiled, remembering the times she had back at home. But those were no more, as she was in strange lands. Ears flicked back, as that gust of wind blew into her ears. Snorting, she turned her head, so that her eyes did not begin to water by the stinging gusts.

From how she spoke about her homeland, it sounded like she really missed it. He wouldn't blame her, it sounded lovely. Lassan was glad he was born here, so he never had to live with humans. Humans weren't a bad thing but he'd rather be living hoe he was than on some farm. A fw drops of water fell onto Lassan's ebony pelt, actually theyhit, like needles from the wind blowing. He looked to Malifex and said "Would you like to find some shelter from this awful rain?"

The rain hit Malifex's ears, and she shook her head slightly. "It'd probably be best if we did find some shelter," she said, flicking her tail slowly behind her. Ears tilted forward, brown eyes blinking as the rain started to fall down more harder. She side-stepped, quite disliking the rain, and the thunder that seemed to come out of no where.
