~Sunset~
A Bright yellow mare walks through the valley. Watching everything with wonder. She has no herd, and no family that she can remember. She does know that she has never never been here before. It's a truly beautiful valley, even more beautiful covered in a thick blanket of snow. The wind blows through her mane, seeming cold and cruel. She stops looks up to the sky, cloudy and grey. She sighs before pawing at the snow, looking for grass. The little bit that she finds is frozen and bitter. Unhappy with her results she continues forward, to a small clump of trees at the base of three tall, snow covered mountains. Her name is Sunset and she is looking for a herd.

The ebony stallion trotted through the deep snow in Spiagga del Nord. In winter the sleek Arab stood out like a sore thumb. His coat was a such a sharp contrast against the ivory snow. A horse could see him coming from miles away. Even in the night time he stood out since the light from the stars and the moon u pabove shone down and reflected off of the snow. It was a losing battle for the stallion in the winter.
He had come to Spiagga del Nord today to see if he could pick up any horses who needed a bit safer place to stay for the winter. His land certainly had enough room for more horses. Plus, the already existing members would love to meet some new horses.
Just as if fate had read Lassan's mind, he saw a mare in the distance. She looked as if she were all alone. That was a good sign. Lassan didn't want to deal with any stallions today. He stuck his muzzle in the air and let out a friendly whinny to the fae he was appraoching, hoping she acted as nice as she appeared to be.

~Sunset~
Sunset heard a whinny from behind her. She turned to see an Ebony Stallion trotting through the snow towards her. Her eyes brightened and the cold didn't bite so hard any longer. A warm feeling came over her. She wasn't alone anymore. She whinnied back before beginning a slow trot towards the stallion. Hope and joy filled her to the brim. She thought, soon she might have a home, or at least a companion. She had so much bottled up inside her, and no one to talk to. Thinking of this brought some wondering about who her family was, and what herd they were from, but she quickly pushed them away. She didn't have room for such thoughts amongst her joy in seeing another horse. It had been so long since she had seen another horse, she picked up her pace, wanting to arrive at the stallion's side soon.

The stallion smiled as he saw her trotting up to him. Within a few seconds she was in front of him with a friendly expression on her dainty face. She was much younger than Lassan had originally made her out to be. That was one disadvantage to seeing a horse from a distance. You missed little details like that.
"Hello." he said with a bob of his head. "I am Lassan, leader of Terra delle Liberta. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." he said. "And what is your name?" Lassan was always such a polite stallion. his father had taught him that. Lassan had put it to use his whole life, which is one of the reasons he had one of the biggest herds on the island. It had not failed him yet.

~Sunset~
Sunset smiled at the stallion. He seemed very nice, and polite. Someone you could tell every little detail of a secret and not have to worry about him telling anyone. "Hello, I'm Sunset."She said still smiling brightly. It was strange, even though she had just met this equine, and he was so darkly colored, she trusted him completely. "It's nice to meet you Lassen." She continued on cheerily. Sunset watched the stallion silently. Suddenly it occurred to her that this stallion may ask... the dreaded question. Her cheeriness depleted, her smile disappeared. Instead she stepped back a few feet and tried her best to hide her bright yellow coat, brown swirling across it. Of course she couldn't though.

Sunset, what a perfect name. It fit the beautiful mare so well. Lassan could not think of a better name for her, even if he really tried. It just fit her so perfectly, like apice of a jigsaw puzzle. "Pleasure." he said with a bow of his head. Lassan then wasted no time in asking is next question. "Are you out here alone, or do you have a herd to get back to. I would feel simply terrible if I kept you from getting back to you home." he said. Lassan was on a mission. That missions was to gather new herd members. He also liked giving horses who needed a home for the winter a place to stay. One unique thing about his herd was that if a horse wished to leave, they weren't bound to the herd like in most.

~Sunset~
Sunset sighed happily. The stallion didn't seem interested in what breed she was. She smiled at him. " You aren't keeping me. I don't have a herd. Never have, at least as far as I can remember. I've lived here my whole life though, and never spoken to another horse. It's a pleasure to be speaking with you right now." Sunset said, half regretting mentioning that she was born on Isola. She promised herself she would try to think before she spoke. She knew deep down inside that it would be very hard, she had a quick and fiery attitude. That was about the only thing, other than her bright yellow coat that she seemed to have inherited from her Zuden ancestors.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#3f5676] Lassan cocked his head as she said that she was born on this island, but had yet to speak to another horse. The Arab knew that this island was huge, but how big was it exactly? It must be much larger than he had imagined if the mare had been living here her whole life and had just now met another. Very strange.
Lassan was born on this island as well he was born into the same herd that he was now the leader of, the successor of his father who had long since passed away. Ever since Lassan had been very young, he never ran out of new and interesting horses to talk to on this island. "I was born on this island as well." Lassan told her with a small bob of his head.
"Where abouts where you born?" he asked her, curious to know where she had been isolated for so long from the rest of the equine society. A thought then struck him. What if she kept herself away from the others for some reason? Perhaps she was some kind of elemental who had no control over her powers and could accidentally hurt someone. Or maybe it was just that she never knew there was more to the island than the parts where she had been raised and just now found out that it expanded much further.

~Sunset~
Sunset sighed deeply. She wasn't sure how to answer. But she thought that if she was every going to find a herd she'd have to tell someone her story. "I'm not really sure, the ravens tell me I was born on a large beach on the north side of the Island." She replied looking at her hooves. She continued on.My mother was a loner, and my father was.."She hesitated, she may have usually been quick to speak, but not now. Should she trust this stallion with her most precious secret? "My father was have Zuden, or so the Ravens tell me. I..I have dreams about them sometimes...my parents, not the ravens. I'm not sure what happened to them. I've avoided other equines most of my life, I'm not sure why I came here. I guess something inside me told me it was time, I guess." Sunset looked up at the stallion, not sure what he would think of her. She was so young, but felt like she had a complicated past that had lasted for eons.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#3f5676] As Lassan listened to the mare's story, the more confused he became. So she was born on Spiagga del Nord. Strange. She was definately born here, but seemed to lack knowledge of the island. Quite strange indeed. Lassan shook his head to clear his thoughts. He should not trouble himself over trivial things like this. It did not matter why she did not know the island as well as Lassan did. Perhaps her mother kept her uninformed for a reason.
The next words out of her mouth proved what Lassan had been thinking. She was half Zunden. Deep down, Lassan some how expected it. He was weary for a minute that she may be a spy for them. They were using a lot of those now days. Then is struck him that if she openly told him she was half Zunden, then there was nothing to be afraid of. Lassan began to even wonder if she knew of the troubles with all the Zunden. Of course if she spoke with the ravens then she probably did.
"I see." Lassan merely said as he looked over his shoulder to the great expanse of grey in the sky. He really hated winter. "Sunset, I would be glad to take you into my herd if you are looking for one. You don't even have to stay. I just feel bad about you being out here all winter alone." he tol her. Sometimes he could be too caring.

~Sunset~
Sunset smiled at the stallion. "I would like that." She said."It would be nice to meet other horses." She barely whispered as she thought. She looked to the sky. It was getting late. "I have always avoided other horses, I thought they wouldn't except me because I'm part Zuden. The Ravens have told me that the Zuden aren't liked by most equines." She laughed at herself. "I guess since in my mind I've never really had a mother, the ravens are my influence and family. They seem a little gossipy though. I probably know more about horses I haven't even met than myself." She thought for a moment about how silly that seemed. Just staring at the sky. She shook the thoughts out of her head and looked at Lassen again. "I suppose we should get going." She said as she walked past Lassen. She stopped suddenly and turned to look at Lassen, embarrassed."Ummm....I guess I don't really know where I'm going so, whenever you want to go we can." She said, looking down at the ground as she pawed at it nervously.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,394,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [bg=#3f5676] The ebony stallion smiled at her words. He had a feeling that the young mare would bland in well with the rest of the herd. Lassan almost chuckled when he realised how his daughter, Cosette, would act when she realised there was a new horse in the herd. His daughter certainy was one of the most outgoing horses Lassan had ever met.
Sunset then spoke a bit about her time with the ravens. They really were gossips. Not a thing to be kept secret could be said around them. Then again, they would always find a way to the secrets, then spread them around. There really wasn't anything those ebony avians knew. "Yes, they can be quite the chatter boxes." Lassan commented.
The fae then walked past him once she said that they should get going. Lassan had to try to hold back a laugh. She strode away without bothering to ask directions and then halted and waited for Lassan when she realised that she had no clue as to where she was headed. Lassan moved past her with a smile on his face and said "Just follow me, we aren't far from home."

~Sunset~
Sunset smiled happily and gladly followed the stallion. "So, I have poured out basically my whole life, being as there isn't much to tell, what about you? You said you are the leader of the Liberta Herd. Hmmm." Sunset stopped speaking to think, then continued."Isn't that the largest light herd on the island?" She spoke proudly because she was surprised she knew that."It must be very interesting. I'm very excited to be going there." She said optimistically. Sunset was very proud to be four, and a mare, but most of the time she acted like a filly. Sunset went on and on about wanting to get to the herd lands soon before remembering she had asked Lassen a question early and hadn't given him any time to reply. She stopped talking and began waiting.

Lassan glanced back to her as she spoke. It was true, she had told him basically her whole life. Did she want him to do the same? So much had happened to him during his years on this island. She would surely be bored by his life story. Any horse would. Hell, even Lassan thought his own life to be uninteresting. When the mare didn't say anything more about it, he decided it would be best if he did not delve into it as well. Plus, they were halfway to his land and it would take much longer than that to tell her of what had gone on since his foalhood.
Sunset then made a comment about Liberta. Lassan's ears perked at this comment. It was true, with those ravens as companions, she seemed ot know a whole lot about the island without ever being to those places. "Yes. It is the largest light herd on the island. Well as far as I'm aware it is." he said with a small nod of his head for confirmation. The fae then voiced her excitement about going there. This caused Lassan to smile. "I know you'll love it there. Its quite sizable, not to mention with a good sized herd of horses who would love to meet you." he told her as the continued on through the gently falling snow. As she bounded a head again, Lassan couldn't help but think of his own daughter, who was around Sunset's age. "Sunset, I think you would like my daughter Cosette." the mentioned as he walked past her again, turning down the path to where the enterance to his land was.

When Lassen didn't reply to her question she decided to leave it and ask another time. She continued down the path wondering when they would arrive, she would really like to meet her new herd soon. Sunset soon became bored not talking and began babbling on about her best friend Dana, a raven of course. When there was nothing more to say about that she remembered Lassen mentioning that he had a daughter about her age. This excited her and she concluded she should ask about her."You said you had a daughter? So you have a family. If don't mind I would like to hear about them. Don't feel like you have to say anything, but you know all about my life. It just seems fair you tell me about yours." Sunset said before briefly looking at Lassen and beginning her walk again.
