EREBOS °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° The deep purple stag cantered into the lands that many said to be cursed with eternal darkness. There was not a shimmer of fear in his silvery orbs, unlike what most equines felt when they entered these eerie lands. At night and day, the land was a beautiful place, but most couldn’t make it past the darkness that seemed to consume the lands. Ivories made an appearance as Erebos smiled at the considering all the fear instituted in the creatures that ventured into these lands by day and got lost by night. Due to the large trees that filled up the majority of the land, there were few spots in Terra di Eterna Notte that weren’t constantly shadowed. Even the clearings were consumed with shadows due to the extensive span of the tree branches. The only specks of light that intruded the forested regions were through breaks between leaves.
Erebos knew every corner of the Arrat’s land so well that he would not have even had to enable Night Vision to find his way through the overwhelming darkness. However, his silver eyes did glow showing he had enabled the power. Finally, he reached his destination – the ebony sanded beach to the North of his territory. As he stood in the center of the sandy terrain, the moon’s light seemed to point only at him and his silver markings began to glow with an astonishing brilliance as he activated Night Glow. With the guidance of the moonlight and his power activated, Erebos knew that the rest of the Arrat herd would be able to find him, even without the power of Night Vision. The stallion’s husky tones bellowed into the air with a brilliance that one might only expect from the Lord of the Night Herd. He called out into the depths of Isola Dei Dei for his fellow Arrats to come to him.
After a few beckoning to his fellow creature of the dark, Erebos stood still to catch his breath. It was not the bugle that had left him so weary but rather a long day. Yes, the nocturnal beast had skipped sleeping that day in order to pay the Zunden a visit. His body still glistened from the sweat of his travels. But, with the news he carried, Erebos felt all of his troubles well worth it. He could always catch up on his sleep later.°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Darkness is broken by the flame of our love. Noche
The dark-pelted figurine moved silently over the terrain, slowly, picking it’s way carefully over the land as the doe went along. Purple-hued orbs invisible due to the lack of certain powers in the shadows…it had been ages since anyone she knew had tried to venture here, but something was calling the young mare, something she hadn’t heard, but rather felt, yet within moments, that instinct was reassured by the sound of a lower bellow, a bugle that she could not mistake the sound of and brought a smirk to her dark muzzle. Her pace picked up and her strong pillars went fasters, ears pricked and alert and nostrils flared, ready to catch the scent of her leader, of the one she had hoped to meet for ages now, and within moments she caught sight of him in the distance.
Reassured with the sight of him, Noche picked up her pace to a slow trot, kissers parted to let out a low whinny just to let the stag know of her approach, in case he had not noticed her just yet. The sight of him overjoyed her in the sense that this was just one more step in bringing the Arrats back together once more, and she hoped, no…knew, that this stag would be the one to raise them up to their rightful place, to glory in all of Dei Dei once again. She slowed as she came near his regal form and dipped her elegant tiara, the white crescent over her right eye pale in the darkness but almost the only part of her visible, ”Greetings my Lord, it’s a pleasure to be within your presence…I am Noche.” she said simply, respectfully. She raised her cranium once more and waited patiently for his reply, the glow of his silver orbs only reassuring her that he could see her in the darkness of the night.

VENERE A shadow that you never saw coming.
{I want to reconcile the violence in your heart...I want to exorcise the demons from your past} Shimmering orbs snapped wide open, four pillars standing to attention, the muscles that rolled under a sleek, garnet red coat tense with anticipation. He was coming. She could sense it, taste it in the air, hear the whispers from the wind: feel it. The time had come. The arrats were reborn, reincarnated. It had begun.
Eyes like molten gold scanned the ever decreasingingly visible horizon, her time of day beginning to arrive. Night. Coal black. Almost as dark as her heart... Almost. Then, she heard it. The siren, the bugle she had been listening for so intently before, echo chillingly throughout Isola Dei Dei. Birds scattered, wolves howled, regular equines shivered and sulked back into their "protective" herds. And Venere started to canter.
Jet black mane streamed behind her, tips a startling gold, flickering almost like flames, or a star, twinkling and catching your eye. She was only small in height, but extremely powerful, a characteristic of the Arrat bloodline, and covered the ground swiftly and silently in a controlled yet graceful lope. She was a shadow, flitting through the gnarled trees almost ghost like, never snapping a twig, not even the rustle of a gold streaked banner could be heard. That was when she entered the Land of Eternal Night.
It was stunning, more than she'd ever dreamed of. Dark. Darker in some places then the deepest pit of hell and she reveled in it. Her deepest, most primitive instinct told her that this was home, and she slowed to a steady trot, not even visible in the dark. She also couldn't see, as her Arrat powers had yet to become active. She couldn't wait. Venere knew when she was close, she could feel their darkness, and then her acute sense of hearing picked up on quiet voices, and her pitch hooves softly brushed through ebony sand.
As she approched her new leader she nodded politely to the other member, smiling softly, before bowing her cranium slightly to the Arrat Lord, speaking out clearly, "Hello, my name is Venere and I am also ruled by the shadows. It's a pleasure to meet you both." A pleasant smile tugged at the corner of her velvet kissers, before she stood stock still, waiting for a response.Muse} Quite good, hope this is okay, i'm still a bit rusty with my rping (: Character played} Venere Song Inspiration} Undisclosed Desires Artist/Band} Muse (: [/blockquote]

No matter how well the day can disguise me, every time the sun sets, I learn how to fly.. The sound of the stallion's awakening call seemed to echo off even the thinnest surface, ensuring that it made its path across to the far corners of the entireity of the island--to every horse and being, whether senses were sharp or dull. Velvet ears pricked up slowly as the echoes of the stag's call ran through her mind in quiet whispers, tugging at any bits of instinct and intuition they could get their hands on. She mare quickly tugged her tiara up from its former grazing position, her night-blue eyes sharpening as she moved her gaze across the horizon before her. She had absolutely not the slightest idea where the sound had come from--it had seemed to come from every angle of the island.. But alas, she wouldn't let the anonymity of it all stop her one bit from finding the equine whose vocals had created such a siren. Her mother had warned her of such a call.. There was a meaning to it. It was an awakening--a calling upon the seemingly deceased breed of the island.
Dead.. Ha, they were anything but dead.. Paper-thin nostrils quivered as she examined the horizon before her once more, not bothering to take a second chance to think of the idiocity of the matter. Following a random horse call that had come from every angle of the island? What was she? Crazy? Yes. She was very crazy, but there was something more in the thought.. It tore and ripped away at her stubbornness so that any ideas of staying back were reduced to bits and pieces--far too tattered and worn to even be considered. The mare took off at a bolting gallop, her ears pricked atop her head alertedly, like two antennas. However, her eyes remained closed--another crazy thought. Running with eyes closed, practically asking to run into a tree.. But there was reasoning behind it--if you couldn't see where you were going, you were twice more likely to follow true intuition, rather than a simple interest in the way a certain path looked.
Close your eyes and run.. The faint words whispered and danced in her head relentlessly, the words of her mother prior to her passing. Oh, the mare had been no fool--she said it would be a cold day in hell if the Arrats should ever trully be gone.. The ivory banners of her mane and tail danced widly behind her, tassles completely windswept by the mare's acceleration. She was hardly a sight to miss--an ebony coat, as dark as night, yet with ivory tassles and markings. Small, silvery specks wound their way around her right foreleg, shimmering with the moon's light as she galloped onwards, towards the epicenter of the equine's siren. It was a beautiful night indeed--the moonlight was almost impossible to ignore. What a perfect night for an awakening, it seemed to stir up the muse in every living and non-living thing that was bathed in its light.
Leila tossed her mane lightly, shaking her forelock away from her tiara before finally opening her eyes to look at the place she'd found her way into. There was no doubt in her mind that she'd done right in trusting her intuition--the trees, they stretched far into the sky, blocking out almost all light but the slivers of moonlight that spotted the ground, as if creating an array of grounded constellations.. A small smile tugged at the tips of the mare's maw, her sapphire orbs brightening up with a sudden sense of belonging. She was home.. Velvet ears twitched around as she heard the whispers of distant voices, and therefore she pursued them. Ebony pillars moved slowly, bringing the mare closer to the small crowd of horses. Her eyes scanned over each equine lightly, their names engraved into her memory. "Hello there.. my name is Leila." she said, bowing her tiara lightly in the other equines' directions as if to also get the point across that it was quite a pleasure to finally meet others of whom her kin had told so many stories about..

The regal purple stallion could feel his members awakening. He could sense as they moved towards him. At first, there was only one mare that he could sense. He knew not her calling or gender, but he did know she was there. His heart pounded beneath his chest as thoughts of the divinity of his new herd came to mind. And, it was not much longer until her form appeared. A pretty little mare to join the ranks of the Arrats – the new rulers of Isola Dei Dei, in his mind! Just as her form arrived, another, and one more set into motion. He could feel the energy of the moon and the stars as they twinkled to the rhythm of each moving Arrat’s hooves. Oh, how grand a feeling!
A low whuffle escaped Erebos’s maw in welcoming to the first mare to arrive. Noche, what a suitable name for an Arrat, “Welcome, daughter of the night,” the husky vocals murmured in a soothing manner. Arrats were like family and were to be treated as such, that is, as long as they were not trying to fight him for his rank. Defying the family or challenging him for power were the only ways to turn the stallion into the cruel hellion that everyone outside of the herd knew him to be. “It is a pleasure to meet you as well, dear.” He made no proper introduction just yet, there were others coming still.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the stallion’s glowing silver gaze caught a fleeting shadow in the woods. Another Arrat was near, for no other could navigate the dark so well even without night vision. It was a gift of the stars – navigational knowledge. Even the uncivilized two walkers of legends knew to use the stars as navigation, yet the Arrats were the only ones who had such instinctive ability.
Erebos glanced to Noche before pointing his muzzle in the direction of the approaching mare. To his pleasure, the mare adorned the crimson hue that granted her to be an innate healer; delightful to have in battle. It was not much longer until the mare was making her path through the ebony sand. The sound of her hooves sloshing through the thick sand mixed with the gentle crash of waves along the shore line calmed the Arrat’s nerves, which were high-strung with anticipation. “Venere,” he echoed her name, quietly, “it is good to see you.” A hearty laughter trickled across his next statement, “ah, yes, it is unmistakable that you belong to the shadows, to the night, my dear. And, the crimson coat of a healer – great blood surely runs through your veins, my dear, Venere.”
The last he had sensed on the move was nearing. “Ah, we have another,” he seemed to whisper. And, it was not much longer until an ebony glittered with white, much like the night sky, approached. He could instantly see by her height that she, too, was a mare. The thought of having so many fertile figures to grow his family sent a shiver down his spine. Three mares in one night was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Now, it would be nice for at least one stallion to make an appearance. There was no other sensation of an approaching equine, so Erebos had his doubts that a stallion may come tonight.
Shaking his head, the purple stag cleared his thoughts. A pleasant smile line his kissers as Leila spoke. “Ah, dears, I am glad to meet you all. Now, my children of the night close your eyes briefly and when you open them again the power of vision at night will grace you. The night’s gift for your loyalty to her herd!”
He paused for a moment to close his own eyes and channel the powers of the dark heavens to grant his request. And, with such grace and ease, it was done. “Now, my mares, Leila, Venere, Noche, are you all as prepared as I to retake this island for those whom it truly belongs?”

Leila listened attentively as the stallion spoke, addressing the three of them. She closed her eyes lightly as he instructed them to do so, holding them closed for a few seconds more before opening them. Their sapphire hue had seemed to come to life, glowing brightly against the mare's ebony coat. Oh, how everything seemed clearer now.. She had no troubles navigating at night, for it was instinct, but seeing in the night had been somewhat of a challenge, prior to this. At least, in pitch black darkness.. there'd be no more of that, now.
The small smile continued to tug at the tips of her maw as she bowed her tiara once more, as if thanking him, as well as the night, for the gift that'd blessed the three mares' vision. His next words seemed to awake a dormant instinct in her, causing small doses of adrenaline to set her veins afire. The vixen gave a lively flick of her tail, ivory tassles falling amongst her ankles as she followed the gesture with a nod. This really had been the call, the time had come once again.. Her sharpened eyes, however, quickly pulled away from the stallion--her attention being grabbed by a familiar scent that now lingered in the crisp night air.. She turned her head lightly, watching the shadows before uttering two softened words. "Welcome, brother.."
The ebony outline of a stallion shortly made its way out of the shadows, his heavy hooves sinking into the sand as if it were nothing more than putty. The stocky equine, however, had no troubles in making his way through the slushing sand. A smile tinged with malice tugged at his kissers as he approached the crowd of horses, one whom he recognized as blood family, and the others whom he recognized as his kin. He gave a subtle toss of his head in greeting, his forelock falling to once side as he came to a stop by the others. He didn't stand so tall, due to the characteristics of the breed, but he stood almost a few hands above the other mares.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, my name is Delano." His voice was deep and husky in tone, though a ring of gentleness adorned its roughened edges. He hadn't missed out on the introduction of the other members, for though he had been at a distance where his scent had been hard to notice, as he'd approached he'd managed to link each equine with a name, due to Erebos' aknowledging comments.

VENERE A shadow that you never saw coming. {When you came in the air went out And every shadow filled up with doubt} Silken ears were pricked, crimson coat emitting a strange red glow in the moonlight; she knew her coat was a rarity, but not why. She'd been quite the prized possession of her dam, the only family member she had known. Her dam had told her the basics of her heritage, how her sire had been an incredible stag, killed in battle, but not much else, as she was stolen from her at an early age, Venere barely a yearling. She figured the time herd was at fault, and she would have her revenge. Without a doubt.
She allowed molten orbs to swiftly glance over the stallion, slyly, and knew immediately that he was the reborn leader of the Arrats. If anything, he was more than she could have imagined, his coat a magnificent array of deep purple, startling orbs a shocking silver underneath the golden glow of the nighteye power. He was well muscled, and would be an immensely strong warrior in battle. Her orbs, polar opposites to his, locked with his as his deep voice echoed across the ebony beach, crashing along with the rolling waves as he softly called out her name, his merry, hearty chuckle causing the corners of her velveteen kissers to curve, the coal black swirls in her intense eyes twining constantly into intricate patterns. The fae's feminine cranium c.ocked as he spoke of her garnet coat, commenting on the healing prospects and intense powers she could inherit - this was new information to Venere, and she longed to find more out, inquisitive nature showing through like the moon in the pitch black cloak of the night sky, but there was a time and a place. And right now it was not the time. His voice was astounding, soft, yet it still reached the curved shell of the vixen's radar with ease, clearly, yet with an edge that sent shivers up your spine. The only thing she could relate it to was a sheathed blade - you knew it was there, an underlying danger, yet it wasn't threatening. Well, that was until the blade was released from it's hold. Then there would be mayhem, she was sure.
Her soothing lyrics replied, swiftly, as clear as night and day, "It means Venus." She paused momentarily, smiling softly, before continuing, "Nothing compared to yours I am sure brother." As the other vixen approached Venere turned to face her, a welcoming grin flashing over her features. Her new family.
Golden orbs danced back to stag as his husky tones reverberated through her "curvy" figure, smiling darkly before closing the dark shutters over her eyes, the golden rings around them easily visible, highlighting them, making them even more magnificent. She closed them for an instant, extremely briefly, and when the curtains of lashes reopened her molten gold, glittering orbs were accompanied by a startling glow, and the fae could see perfectly in the dark. It came so naturally she was almost surprised, and she reveled in her newly gifted power. Kissers parted to gently whisper out, "Thank you." She played with her skill, turning the nighteye off and back on a few times: it was an instinct, something deeply rooted to her inner being. Venere didn't speak for a moment, but inclined her head in agreement. Isola Dei Dei would soon be ruled by those that truelly deserved it. The Arrats. {I don't know who you think you are but before the night is through

Noche
The dark blue-pelted equine stood patiently for her leader to address her in return. After all, he was certainly awaiting the arrival of others, was he not? Surely she was not the only one around who had felt the calling to return to him, to the magnificent stag that would lead them in taking back what belonged to them from the very beginning. Ears flicked forward when the dark lord finally responded to her, welcoming her and thought she noticed he did not introduce himself, she figured it was because he, like herself, expected others to come, and soon enough she could sense the movement of other equines as well. Purple orbs looked from her leader to the new mare that appeared, Venere was her name. Not wanting to disturb her lord’s thoughts she only smiled and tilted her head slightly in the direction of the mare, she would speak again when all who were coming showed up.
Another mare arrived and their leader spoke once again, speaking to them all and telling them what she was sure they all knew already. Her ears pricked attentively when the stud gave a command, to close one’s eyes and to be granted night vision. The thought made her smile and she gladly closed her purple orbs. Just before he spoke again she could feel the power that the dark brute had granted them course through her and when she opened her eyes once more she was certain that they now held a silvery glow as Erebos’ did. She listened attentively to his words and smirked, “Of course we are my Lord.” she nickered gladly. Ears flicked in the direction of the newest equine. She turned to look and scented that it was a male, making their band that of two stallions and three mares, suitable at least.
She turned her attention once again to Erebos, waiting for his next words, wondering what he had in mind, at least while the night was still young.

The stallion smirked as he saw how many of his Arrats had risen. Although he was certain that there were so many more out there, he could not help but have pride in those who had so promptly unveiled themselves. He listened as they conversed, getting all of the small-talk out of the way.
"Good to hear," he promptly replied with a deep laughter seeping between his words. It was good to know that their family was all on the same page. They would rule Isola Dei Dei. "I have made arrangements to get us on good sides with the Zunden. They are too large in numbers to be an enemy right off in this war. If all succeeds, they will help us take control of the isle and then, we can turn on them." The stallion paced to and fro as spoke, pausing before he proceeded. "However, the Zunden are as conniving as us and will easily plot the same against us if they agree on our... partnership. So, watch your back children of the night. The Zunden are inferior a breed, as all others compared to the Arrats, but they are still a threat and foe to be reckoned with... but, we will discuss more about our 'game' plan a bit later."
He quietly walked past the group. "We have three hours before the sun sets and our strengths and powers weaken, enjoy that time as you wish." He left his statement at that as he trekked further along the shoreline. Any who wished to join him could - they were a family, after all.
