Riding on in the mist of the morning No one dared to stand in his way Possessed by some distant calling Riding on through, night and dayCrowley ________________________________
The ebony stag tossed his crown as he picked up a fluid trot. Just another morning here on the little quaint isle most called Isola Dei Dei. In all of Crowley's years, nothing too exciting happened. Sure, he met a horse or two like him on the way, only to have something happened that caused them not to be around each other. A few times he had run ins with other elementals. That was always fun. In the past decade or so Crowley at resorted to stirring up trouble himself just to give him something to do. Maybe today he could pick a fight with another demon. They were harder and harder to come across now days.
Crowley flattened his audits at the thought and gave a small buck before continuing with his slow trot. What to do, what to do? His serpent-like orbs darted around as his mind reeled. Nothing but empty woods. What happened to this place? There used to be so many other horses, most of them normal, and most of the normal ones from other lands.
He had always been intrigued by the normal horses. They were so ... simple. Yet at the same time they were very complex. Truth was Crowley liked to be around them, not something that his breed normal favoured. It wasn't that he wanted to befriend them and have fun, he wanted to study them, like a group of lab rats. He would try things on them, say things to them, find out what made them tick. Recently Crowley had bored himself with causing mischief with the normal horses. They were just so drab.
The stallion rolled his orbs in a dramatic fashion as a raven, or crow, flew next to him and started to talk. He never was able to tell the difference between the ravens and the crows. They were both equally as obnoxious. Crowley listened patiently to it as it jabbered on and on. "Get to the point bird." he snapped at it after a few minutes. He was in a rather testy mood today. If the black bird didn't listen, well it wouldn't be around to see tomorrow.
Crowley stopped dead in his tracks as the wretched little animal finally spat out what it was going to tell him all along. There were more Reapers, and Grims, out there. Instead of being loners some mare had been trying to group a herd back together. Crowley's maw twisted into a somewhat sinister smirk as he made a very strange hissing sound. His orbs went wide and he shook his crown. One of his bad habits was hissing. He didn't mean to, but sometimes, if he wasn't thinking about it, it would just slip out.
The stag broke into a canter as he followed the instructions of the crow-raven creature. It wasn't a hard to find spot, but far away. It then dawned on Crowley, he could just apparate there. He hadn't been around his kind in so long that he had almost forgotten about that. He should really stop hanging around the normal horses.
A few seconds later, he was standing in some part of these new lands. Now all he had to do was play the waiting game. A confidant smile worked its way onto his sleek features as he leaned on a nearby tree, hidden in the shadows. His position looked how a tall and somewhat lanky man might lounge against something while waiting. His expression was relaxed and very over confidant. Someone would come. They had to. It would be a disgrace to his breed if one did not sense him in their lands.

Valdis What was this? A stallion in her lands? Unless this was a brother of their kind, he would be dead when she even glanced at him. She wasn't in the mood for any shit today, Void was in a bad mood. Oh shit! Yeah, that's right.
"And just what the fucking hell are you doing in my lands? You think you can just waltz in here? I have a right mind to put your in your place, brother." Ah, so it was of her kind. Thank god, Valdis spared another life. "So, your a reaper. Not many grims out there, we have a mutt, he's a cross between our kind. Anyway, I'm Valdis. Lady of the Death Herd and Territorio Dei Morti. I swear if you make one wrong move, you'll be the meal of the herd." Valdis snarled, eyeing the stallion with firey green and crimson eyes.
Valdis cocked her head, still looking at him, sizing him up most like a butcher does a piece of meat."You are quite sexy, don't get on my bad side, you look like you could produce some good foals." Ivory lips curled into a smirk, and the small mare took a few steps forward. "It'd be a shame to waste such sexy looks, make sure you don't piss me off. Wait. Do piss me off sometime, and I'll show you why." The Reaper purred, flicking her color-streaked tail.

Ten minutes. It had taken ten minutes for someone to notice that he was here. In his opinion that wasn't that bad seeing as none of them really knew how to sense one another. They were all so much younger than he was, probably never even lived in a group with their own kind, with the exception of their parents and siblings.
Crowley straightened up as the mare came up to him asking him rapid fire questions. The stallion kept from rolling his eyes and just smirked at her. He remembered when he was like that during his younger years. She would likely grow out of it in several decades.
"I don't see your name written anywhere love." he said in response. He smirked a bit and his eyes lit up. Ah, she had some attitude, this was going to be fun. "I didn't Waltz in." he told her as he began to answer he quick inquiries. "I merely Tangoed. Waltzing is too up tight for me." he added as he took a couple steps to her in the same manner as a child would walk up to apologise to their sibling. "But I'm already in my place dear." he said. "You see I'm always in my place. I surely can't be in your place because then it would be mine and not yours." he told her with a nod of his head.
She then rambled on about how he was a Reaper and bout some half blood that lived in the lands. Quickly, a bemused expression spread across his face. This was rather entertaining. "Dinner? Nah, I don't taste very good. Too skinny." he said, poking his own side with his maw. "No one would want this, not enough nutrition." he continued on. In the same rant she also introduced herself as Valdis, the 'Lady of the Death Herd'. "Lady? And why to you deserve such a title?" he asked with a cock of his crown. He moved a couple steps back from her and proceeded to walk past her, only stopping a few strides away. "Noble birth, is that it?" he questioned. A dry laugh escaped his mouth as he continued. "Why no one really evens knows who of noble birth anymore. Believe me."
Suddenly she began talking about him and how sexy he was, to put it in her words. "Sexy? Really? Just sexy?" he asked. "Well I've always thought myself to be a bit on the rouge-ish handsome side. A more refined beauty than your simple 'sexy stallion'. Those young stallions, colts really, are what young mares like you call sexy. (When they really are just pompous, pratty fops) I am most certainly not." he finished with a knowing smirk. Crowley continued to walk forward, looking around his new home, as he had decided a couple minutes ago. "And by all means love, if I am 'sexy' then please do put me out of my misery."

Valdis Her smirk was soon turned into a hiss, and she took a few steps forward, cocking her small, dished crania to look at him, her eyes flaming. "Reapers like you are the reason I killed my aunt and siblings, smartass bastard." She let her tongue flick out to touch him on the cheek.
"Call it what you think of it as, old fashioned, but, here in the modern world, we call it sexy. Dear, I would put you out of your misery, well, what you would call misery, yet your just too tempting for me to kill. Simply delicious, as I find you of a good specimen, of our breed." The mare smirked.
"Hmm.. How to put this. Oh, I'll just come right out and say it, if you haven't guessed," She smirked again, coming a step closer, "Fuck. Me." She whispered.

Crowley raised a brow as she spoke of killing her family members. "Tsk. Tsk. Now why did you go and do that love?" he asked. "Surely you have to have some self control. Kill them over a dashing devil like me?" he told her. As of right now, he really didn't even know what he was saying. He just liked to talk. And talk. And talk. It didn't matter if it made sense or not. Half the time he thought that he just liked the sound of his own voice. Which was true.
Crowley smirked a bit as her pink ribbon caressed his face. He was getting to her. Obviously she was easily manipulated. That was what Crowley was good at. Extortion, manipulation, trickery, and conning people out of things. Now he knew what to do with this one. It had just been too easy.
"Oh yes." he said nodding his crown vigorously. "I know I am perfection. And something like that only comes from what you would probably call 'the old days' or something of the sort. We were, and still are, more refined than your generation. And here in the modern world horses like me never give in to horses like you." he said with a rather arrogant tone.
Crowley rolled his eyes at what she asked him next. "No thank you." he said, continuing his walk through the lands. "How do I put this... ah.... the problem with 'modern' Reapers like yourself, you have no decency, and you're just sexy, no true beauty." he then trotted a couple strides. It was really sad. His own kind, being 'ruled' by whores like this.

Valdis "Oh come on. You can't really blame me, at all." Valdis rolled her eyes, setting off in a walk behind him. "Oh, so I have no self decency? I'll admitt that Ima slut and a whore. Atleast I'm happy with myself." Still intent on following him, she moved into a trot, a ways behind him. "Please, you don't know the half of it, atleast I held myself back to not kill you. I try to pleasure you but oh hell no, you get all pissy and run off WHEN I'M STILL TALKING TO YOU!" Valdis snarled, her mood turning a bit to the sour side. She caught up with him and smirked. "By the way, thanks for the compliment." Val smirked.
"Darling, you have alot to learn." Val looked up to him, well. She was shorter than him..

Crowley was curious now. He looked around for a moment, his snake-like orbs darting back and forth. "What happened?" Curiousity always got the better of him. He had leanred to ask many questions after living for decades with the dim witted normal horses who had no clue what else was going on around them. Idiots.
"Guess thats all that counts then." he remarked, throwing her a glance over his shoulder. She then started to yell at him about what he said. Ah, so that one struck a string. Crowley smirked a bit and turned to face her. "Like I said earlier, you could've done away with me. Obviously there is something about me, I don't know what though, that makes you want to keep me around. Even I don't know what it is. And love, if you're going to keep complaining and mentioning it, what is the issue?"
Crowley flicked his tail in a bored manner as she continued to speak. "Eh, no problem." he replied sarcastically. "I'm always for making others happy." the stallion added. Crowley began to walk again, only to halt at her last comment. He looked back at her for a moment before replying "As do you."

Valdis "What? So it's a crime to ask you to fuck me? Most would jump on at that offer, but you.." Valdis peered at him and starting to circle him, looking him over as a piece of meat, again. "Darling, of course there is something about you. You intruige me. Is there something more your not telling me?" The Reaper stopped at his side and peered up at him, trying to see past his mental wall. "It feels like I know you, darling. Your hiding something from me, yet, I know your not a traitor. Tell me, darling." The mare looked at him. There was just something about him, his aura, that Valdis could tell he was hiding something deep down. Besides his 'i don't give a shit' look and attitude, there was that well being that Valdis could see. Somehow, she felt respect for him, which Valdis had never felt before. What was this?
"Darling, there's something about you.. Your aura makes me feel respect for you, which I normally have for no one." Valdis cocked her dished tiara, peering at him through light green and crimson eyes. "Darling, what are you?" Valdis spoke quietly, her ears flicking back against her skull.

Crowley ________________________________
"are different." he finished her sentence for her, his orbs still focused on the path in front of him as he walked along. This land looked somewhat like he remembered. There was something different though, and Crowley couldn't put his finger on it. Time had not done the land any kindess. It was like an old rundown shack, but there was still somehting there that he couldn't quite see.
Crowley glanced to her as she spoke once again. "I intruige a lot of people." he stated like it was an obvious fact. The stallion halted again as the mare stopped next to him and questioned him about who he was. Crowley smirked at her and said "Everyone has their secrets love. You, me, even that robin over there." he said, motioning with his head to the robin on the branch.
How he wished he could still have two arms and hands to motion with instead of his head. When he was a young colt, he always felt like somethin was off about him. It took him until he was twenty years of age until the memories came flooding back from when he had been living as a human. Human. How he wished he could be one again. Sure, being what he was had its ups, but being human meant so much more to him. Well Crowley that's what you get for pissing people off. Next thing you know they decide to send you here and make sure to put you in an immortal form! Ha!
"But you should not go around opening Pandora's box." he added before he started to walk again. Crowley still held his head high, almost regal like, as he sauntered through the land. It was good to be home. He turned his head to look at Valdis as she continued on. He smirked once again as she said that she felt respect for him. "What am I?" he repeated with a sarcastic laugh. "The question should be what am I not. "

Valdis "Darling, don't do that mysterious shit, although it is quite a turn on. I want to know." Valdis snarled at him softly, showing ivory fangs. "In a weird way, you don't seem like an equine." Valdis cocked her head and watched him, peering at him through light green and crimson eyes. "You make me question your very being of a Reaper, darling." Valdis hissed softly, still walking by him and watching him quietly.

Crowley ________________________________
The ebony stallion cocked his head at Valdis' words. Mysterious? He was merely doing what he had always done his whole life, this one and his previous one as a human. He didn't think of it as being mysterious at all, just more of a puzzle for the simpler humans, and now horses, to figure out.
One of the things Crowley found very ironic is that the new body they gave him was a horse. When Crowley was a human he was never too fond of horses, or any animal for that matter. Back in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it was expected of wealthier mean to travel by horseback, so that's what Crowley did. He never got along with the bloody animals and just about everytime he went out riding, for some reason or another, he ended up on his ass in the dirt. And now he was one of those animals he disliked so very much.
His snake-like eyes flicked to the mare when she spoke again. He had to hold back a laugh. Of course he didn't seem like a bloody horse! He was supposed to be a human! But no, he had been killed three times back as a human. Everytime he died, they wanted to know what happened with the old body before they gave him a new one. This time, he figured, they were tired of him associating with mankind and getting himself killed so much, so they let him come back as a horse. But it didn't make sense to him at all. He had gone a whole seven hundred years without getting killed.
Crowley then finally let out a small laugh and said "And I wish I wasn't." Besides, what trouble could he cause as a horse? Back when he had been a human, when all the demons were human, they caused trouble in people's lives. Crowley, instead of focusing on one or two people to make miserable, he would do things to a bunch of people. Of course they weren't terrible things like you may think. He was just a trouble maker, a prankster, and yet, he was one of Hell's most repsected. It didn't make sense, but Crowley didn't really care. He had never been bad to begin with. Sure they called him a 'fallen angel', but he had just been an angel who merely sauntered vaguely downwards and hung out with the wrong crowd, and well, here he was now.
The mare's voice brought him out of his thoughts again. This time she said that she questioned him being a Reaper. Crowley gave her a knowing smirk and replied with "So do I, so do I." Valdis would never figure it out. Hell, she didn't even know his name yet. She didn't strike Crowley as the type who would care that he used to be a human, and wanted to go back being a human.
To turn his thoughts away from something that probably never would be again he decided to ask her a question. "So Valdis, (It is Valdis right?) how are these lands doing? Its not how I remember it. Its pretty much gone to hell. Your lot must be pretty new to come here I'm guessing?" The stag looked at her expectantly, waiting for some kind of answer. This was really the only thing he had ever cared about in this body; his old land and his herd that was no more.

Valdis His last statement made her merely smirk. She gave a small chuckle and stopped in front of him, cutting him off. "Darling, you just gave yourself away." The mare looked up at him, a smirk still plastered across her maw. "I'm surprised you've survived all these years to make it back to your old domain, Crowley."
It had finally clicked in her head, when the stallion had said his last statement. Crowley was one of the few old Lords of the Death Herd, she had heard many stories about him, since they were passed down.
Valdis gave one more look at him before retreating back to his side. "I've come to find, since the elementals were last wiped out, there's more Zunden than anything. Which, we could easily destroy them if only there were more of us." Valdis paused to look up at him. "You miss it don't you. Your old herd?" She spoke softly. She had a soft side, and that of which was like a normal mare, concerning and caring. That side didn't show much, and Crowley was the first to see it.
Valdis's multi-colored eyes traveled back down to the Earth. She didn't understand this feeling, at all. She didn't really hate it, yet she didn't love it either. She felt respect for him. Hell, she felt compassion and she cared for him.
The mare snorted and tossed her colored mane as she turned to look the opposite direction from him.

Crowley ________________________________
"Did I now?" he asked her with a disinterested glance. Crowley neevr was one for telling people striaght up who he was or what he had accomplished. He would drop clues here and there and the would figure it out on there own. It amused him and gave other people something to fret about, even though it wasn't that important. Usually the more intelligent people figured it out faster than the idiots. And there were a lot of idiots in the world.
As for Valdis, she never struck Crowley as the genius type, nor did she strike him as the doofus. She was just an inbetween, nothing too special, although she did have alot to learn. "So am I." he said in response to her newest revelation. So she wasn't all that dull, she even knew what his name was.
All the time he had been a horse, he had been debating whether or not to get himself killed nad out of this body. A part of him hoped that if he died, they would give him a new body as a human again. Then, the logical part of him took over and he figured that they had put him as a horse so he wouldn't get killed. So if he went and got himself killed, they may not even let him come back, not even as something as insignificant as a snake.
"Uh huh." he agreed casually as she said something about Zunden and death. What else was new? He had leanred as a human that when you were having a conversation, especially with a woman, it was easier to act like you were listening and paying attention. All you had to do was agree every now and then and things would go very smoothly.
He turned to look at her as she asked him if he missed the herd. The onyl part he really herd was 'you miss it don't you?' Of course, his mind immeadiatly went to being human. "Yes!" he exclaimed in a rather exasperated tone, until he actually figured out what she was asking. "Oh yeah, I guess." he replied again, this time witha shrug. "But no reason to dwell on the past, whats done is done."

Crowley ________________________________
The stallion merely cast her a lazy glance as she spoke. "I don't expect you to believe anything." he said simply with a shrug of his shoulders. "And how can I stop being who I am?" he asked in response. If she didn't like the way he talked, the way he acted, then she could just leave him alone. He wasn't going to stop being who he was just because some naive little girl, mare, told him too.
Crowley flinched a bit as she hit him with her tail. It wasn't so much that it hurt, it was a natural behaviour he had learned when he was human. He didn't get along well with horses and had been whacked in the face a couple times by a tail. It hurt much worse when you were human he had decided. "Well what'd you do that for?!" he asked with a glare. "Luckily you didn't get me in the face. I remember one time, I think it was in 1892, but I can't but sure, I got hit in the face and I had a mark for a week! A whole week! Can you believe that?! Stayed away from horses after that, especially since cars were coming around, and you have no clue what I'm talking about do you?" he rambled on.
What now!? he thought as she started to yell again. "Yeah, I do that to a lot of people." he said casually. "That's why I'm here now. I pissed off the wrong crowd. But you don't worry me." he said with a smug grin. The stallion then realised that she had started to produce venom. This just caused him to roll his eyes. "You know a leader of great herd like this ought not to get so agitated quite so easily. Not a good quality of a leader." he told her as he began to walk again. This was going to be an interesting couple of years.
