Isabelle The young essa walked quietly through the seemingly empty forest, listening ildly to the distant roar of the wind whipping across Belle Valle. Her naes quivered as she sniffed the icy air, snorting softly with a puff of smokey vapor. The bare limbs of the willow trees gently swayed, looking like they were extending towards her, welcoming her to their forest. It smelled nice here, even though the sharp and fresh smell of snow clouded most of her sense of smell. Her small hooves crunched against the snow as she moved, heading towards a thicker patch of willow trees where not much snow had piled in. Night was moving in, and the predators around here could easily snatch her and take her away.
Pushing her way through the thin branches, she glanced around in the shadows, before she began clearing snow for a decent spot to hunker in for the night with her hooves and muzzle until snow and frost nipped at them uncomforatably. How she hated winter. During this time she seemed even smaller then she really was. Like she needed that. Sigh.

The stag barreled across the forest as break neck speed. He let out a whinny and bucked a couple of times. He loved the weather like this. If only it would stay that way a ll year round. Of course autumn and spring weren't too bad, it was just the sunny, blistering heat of the summers on Isola Dei Dei.
His dark orbs flicked around as he ran, looking for signs of movement. As his orbs searched his audits flicked in all different directions. Nothing. The forest was dead silent. The only noise to be heard was the crack of a branch every now and then, and, of course, the sound of Edward's daggers hitting the fresh snow that was settled on the forest floor.
The perlino stallion was about to leave the land and go to Belle Valle where he knew animals lived, when he caught the intoxicating scent of an other equine nearby. His auds perked as his optics glanced around the dark landscape. Thank God he could see as well, if not better, in the dark than he could during the day light hours.
And there she was, the equine he had scented, hiding in a thick patch of willow trees. He could smell the fear coming off of her. What was a fragile thing like her doing out here all alone in the willowed woods. Didn't she know it could be very dangerous out here? In order not to frightne her more, Edward slowed to a normal, medium paced trot. His dark optics narrowed as he neared the fae in her shelter. Without saying a word he stood there, acting like he didn't even notice the frightened mare hiding in the shadows of the night.

Isabelle Isabelle lay her tiara on the frozen ground, tired from lugging her butt through the snow that was steadily growing deeper as the winter progressed. She had closed her eyes for barely a minute or so before she heard the crunching of rapid movements of a equine on the snow. Her ears pricked but her eyes remained closed, figuring the horse would just be passing by. But the sound of hooves grew louder and sounded a lot closer. She jerked her eyes open when they slowed, and she heard the huffing breath of an equine.
The mare looked up to spot a shadowed outline of someone standing there, right outside her curtain of willow branches. With a squeal of alarm, she swiftly rose to her feet and jerked up her tiara. Her nares flared as she briefly calmed a little, eyeing the shadow suspiciously. The horse was much taller then she (damn my short legs, she thought) and had a somewhat muscular build. She backed up a step, shying. "W-who're you?"

The perlino stag could sense the fae's uneasiness and fear. She didn't have a reason to be afraid, but yet she did. Edward flicked his banner, sending the snowflakes on it to join the rest on the earth below. His auds flicked as he heard her squeal and jump up. Yes, she had now noticed him. Edward continued to ignore her, just like he hadn't heard her squeal at all. He would let the small mare be the first to make any move.
Edward slowly turned around as he heard a soft, lyrical voice, obviously belonging to the mare in the willows. She stammered out a question of who he was. He had turned around just in time to see her step back a bit from him with fear in her optics. Edward gave the mare a small smile. "Hello." he said to her quietly, bobbing his crown. "I mean you no harm." he told the fidgety mare firmly.
After a moment of silence he said "What are you doing out here by yourself?" Edward was curious to know why this fae didn't have a herd, mate, or even a friend with her. 'She could be lost.' he thought. Something about this little essa intrigued him. Edward wasn't sure what it was, or even why it was, but he was determined to find out.

Isabelle At first he ignored her, which was strange, but as soon as she spoke he came to life, looking at her for what seemed to be the first time. She pricked her ears as he spoke to her, reassuring her that she had nothing to fear. His voice was deep and calm. She wanted to believe him, but one could only be so careful.
She remained quiet, eyeing him carefully, before he asked her why she was out here. She glanced around her, giving her mane a slight shake before looking at him again, suddenly feeling defiant of his gentle tone. "Simply because I feel like it. Do you see a safer place? Predators rarely pass by here," she replied, pulling her ears back.

Edward kept his stance and expression relaxed but alert. His auds flicked a bit as the vixen began to speak, almost sound hostile near the end of her little speech. Now most stags would leave a mare after she showed some kind of caution. That was because most stag were looking for a docile, little lamb of a mare to take home and just continue their bloodline with. Edward wasn't like that. As a matter of fact he tried to avoid mares and just other horses in general. Sometimes he didn't have achoice, but other times he would go in the opposite direction of them.
Edward pretended to be bored by her answer as he looked around the dark forest. "Yes, but it can be dangerous out here." he stated, this time looking her in the eye. "You never know what......or who, could be lurking around." Edward just hoped he wasn't scaring the mare. The perlino took a couple of steps away from her. Why was it so hard to be near her?

Isabelle Bella blinked, flicking her ears as she studied the stallion. He was much taller, (heck everyone was) with a light cremello hide. He had a bronze mane and tail, which stood out a bit in the dark twilight. Because of her small size, a lot of horses figured she was a lot younger then she was, or was too fragile to be out by herself. She had recieved many offers to come home with a stallion or two, some more forceful then others, but she had denied, or escaped when their back was turned. The boys were always the same. She always prefered the company of other mares instead. She had joined some make-shift all-mare herds several times before, but always they were ripped apart by a bossy stag.
Bella frowned slightly as the stag appeared bored with her answer, and slightly ignored his answer by looking off in the other direction. She looked back at him at his last comment, intrigued. And what did he mean by that? "No place is completely safe, is it?" she said, shaking her tiara slowly. With the fire herd on the rise, it seemed that everyone was doomed.

The perlino stallion still kept his dark eyes on the mare. He hated how she was so damn intriguing to him. Or did she do that to every stag she came across. He noted that, if she was, it never really worked to bring her into a herd, hence her being here now.
The moonlight was now casting eerie shadows through the willowed land. Edward looked up to the sky and thought of Bella, wherever she was. Personally, Edward didn't care anymore. He was a little bit fed up with her. Well, maybe more than just a little bit.
His audits flicked back and forth and the mare started to talk again, interested by the last comment he made. "No." he answered simply. Edward was not one for many words. He wouldn't normally waltz up to a horse and start up a conversation with them. In fact, the perlino would do the complete opposite.

Isabelle Oddly, the mare was disapointed with his simple and easy answer. She tried not to show it on her face. How come when she decided to have a little chat with a brute, he is the one that didn't help supply the conversation? That annoyed her. But she sort of wanted to hear his gentle, but somehow musical voice, Strange, again.
Seeing the stallion wasn't going to say anything else, Isabelle snorted. "Well, good night to you then," she said, nodding her tiara to him politely before she turned away, pushing her way through the bare branches of the willow. She wasn't rude enough to push the stallion off, nor did she want to risk getting hurt. She was always prone to accidents.

Edward's optics remained on the vixen as she looked a bit disappointed with his answer. Why was she so different? It then hit him like a turck, he couldn't read her mind. He must have been really zoned out not to have realised that. He needed to go hunting.
He was brought out of his thoughts as the mare told him good night and went back to her willowy sanctuary. Edward snorted and turned around, leaving the mare at a brisk walk. He lifted his head in the air as he caught the scent of some nearby deer. He smiled and broke into a gallop.
~~~~
Edward stood over the carcass of a buck, it's blood staining his coat and the snow below. He felt much, much better now. I should probably go back to Bella now. he thought. After all I just kinda disappeared, but then again she is a bitch.
The perlino stag was quickly pulled out of his thoughts when he heard a pack of wolves howling and growling. He realised that they were in close proximity to the mare he had met earlier. With that, he galloped off to save her.
Isabelle Damn, she jinxed herself. She realized that as soon as the howls started up, seeming just right out of the shelter of the willow. She had stood up so fast, terrified out of her wits. She had turned and bolted out of her cover to get a chance to escape, but it turns out the wolves were just outside her door. They had started snapping at her bodice, scraping and clawing and then dancing away before she could take a bite out of their fur. --- Now, she was exhausted. Blood trickled down her legs, torso, and chest. The wolves' low gentle growls rose into high, excited meanicing ones. Isabelle flared her nostrils, glaring furiously at the canines. So, this was how it was going to end.
The perlino stallion arrived at the mare's hideout when he saw the crowd of disgusting lupines gathering and lcosing in. He could smeel the blood of the mare, and from the amount he detected, he knew that she was in danger and injured. He could to one of three things: A he could turn around and walk away, B he could save her, or C he could join the wolves and take her blood.
Edward lunged forward, a growl-like sound coming from his pink, velvety kissers. A few of the wolves scattered, while a the larger, stronger ones remained, no paying much attention to the furious brute. The stag had never encounter wolves as, well, dull as this before. Oh well, this would make it easier for him.
Edward broke into the group, kicking left and right, biting any flesh covered in long, grey fur that he could reach. It seemed to be over in a flash. Edward had killed off one third of these wolves with ease. The rest were injured and/or sent off running.
Edward stared at all the blood on the ground and licked his lips, which was a very, very odd thing for a horse to be doing. He snapped out of his trance like state and jogged over to the mare. She was injured. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern building u pin his now light eyes.
Isabelle Isabelle looked up, wide eyed, as Edward appeared. He quickly assessed the situation before lunging at the wolves, biting and snapping and throwing his body about. They were suddenly gone, only leaving crumbled bodies on the snow. It frightened her a bit that he could take on the wolves by himself, but she shook that thought off. He saved her, didn't he? The least she could do was show a little bit of appreciation.
The mare stared at the stag, who was eyeing the blood staining the snow and licking his lips, similar to the way the wolves have been. She blinked, and suddenly he was looking at her and asking if she was alright. Isabelle nodded. "Yeah, thank you.Just a little blood, thats all. " She tilted her head, touched by the overall worry that flooded his eyes.
Even though Edward had just made a kill before he rescued Isabelle from a less than plesant fate, the sight and scent of the blood made him want more, and more. The scent coming from Isabelle's blood especially. He closed his orbs and took a deep, but pointless, breath, trying to clear his head.
Once he opened his optics, he noticed that Isabelle seemed startled, relieved, and scared. Obviously she was startled from the sudden wolf attack, and most likely from Edward's quick rescue. He just hoped she wasn't scared of him. He hated it; not knowing what the vixen was thinking. Sure he hated knowing every other animal's thoughts, but the one time he wished he could do it was now, with this mare.
He shook his crown as her soft lyrics reached his audits. "Yeah, just a little blood." he said, acting as if it was nothing at all, even though his orbs said otherwise. He really needed to get out of here. Now to come up with some lame, believeable excuse to get her out of there. "We should get out of here. Other wolf packs may have heard the howls and are coming to see if, um, there is any dinner left." he told her, as he headed towards the exit of the willowed shelter.
Isabelle Bella met the stallion's gaze, and cringed at the heavy bloodlust that she could easily see. She continued to stare at him, but nothing else in his body language betrayed what was so clearly in his eyes. Hmm, she must be seeing things.
The buckskin mare nodded, assuring herself mostly, and turned to the stallion as he mentioned leaving in case more wolves arrived. She shivered deeply, fear and anxietly pricking her pelt. Isabelle moved over to join him cautiously, ears swiveling about, searching for any sound of more wolves. "I didn't catch your name," she said after a minute of following the perlino, her brunette banner flicking lazily on her haunches. "My name is Isabelle."
