F R O G 'You know that I could use somebody, someone like you.' Frog stood near the small pond, lush emerald vegetation surrounding him. His pinto body stood out like a sore thumb in the shades of green, dark brown, and grey. His long grey mane cascaded down his muscular neck, half lay on one side, half lay on the other, and a few rebellious strands stuck straight up. He arched his neck and looked down into the pool, seeing his reflection. It swayed with the breeze. He outstretched a grey hoof and tapped it, and the reflection faded and jumbled in a mess. He stepped back, and sighed. Ever since he had left his herd, in other words kicked out, exiled by all he had ever known, he had been roaming around aimlessly. Not hoping for anything special to happen. His life had been boring for the past year, the seasons seemed to drag on. As he stood, allowing the rays to bathe his back, he shook his toothbrush mane. Sighing.
Would his life change, or be forever boring? He pondered, moving forward to stare at his reflection again.

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The sun's rays reflected off the Nyfrio mare's coat with an intensity that gave her beige coat a reflective, golden hue. The streaks of gold and shades of brown in her mane and tail streamed out behind her as she wandered by the river, her hooves stepping carefully amongst the pebbles so that she wouldn't displace any, or slip amongst the damp surfaces. She'd been more of a nomad for the past few months, weaving in and out of territories like some sort of nomadic snake. She had no reason to stay in one place for too long--however, she also lacked a reason to stay away from exploring the said lands. Crazy fire horses and vengeance-seeking darks were the least of her worries, despite the fact they certainly knew how to put a dark cloak over an otherwise merry day. At least here in the unclaimed lands, there was quite a variety of horses--except the breeding lands, of course. Oh, how the darks loved that gloomy little forest. They obviously couldn't get any unless they went all 'rapist' on them. Caramel nostrils quivered at the thought of that hell-hole as she wandered forwards, shaking the thoughts back out so that the otherwise playful composure returned, as well as the attention to where she was going. Blue-brown eyes scanned the area now, realizing that the river had diminished in size as she'd gone along--and had now shrunk to a small pond, whose surface was much calmer than the roaring rapids that'd streamed the water just a mile or two back. Wait, a mile or two back? The thought caused her to raise an eyebrow as she turned her head, looking as far back as she could to see if she'd really gone that far. However, it was pretty hopeless, due to the fact that the river didn't run straight. Any visual aid that would have helped was blocked by a bend, and a few willow trees. A soft snort escaped the mare at the realization, but it didn't last too long before she turned her attention back to the pond in front of her. A joyful expression washed over her face as she drew closer to the water, causing ripples to be sent across the surface without her even physically touching it.

F R O G The scrubby pinto colt stared into the cool liquid, and rose his tail to flick off a few flies, something he was very used to doing. His life seemed to be the same everyday, he was just running through the motions with a saumber walk and pinned ears. He breathed deeply, taking in the sweet scents of spring that seemed to be oblivouis to him, shut out, just out of reach.
He rose his head when he heard the sound of bushes rustling. He pinned his ears and bared his teeth, clamping down his tail. Who was it that was barging in on his silent thinking? Suddenly, he saw the lithe figure of a mare. He softened his stance, and squinted to get a better view of her. She was unlike any horse he had ever seen before. He was taken aback at her appearance. He felt water ripple over his hooves, gently lapping at his pasterns. Yet, he had not distubered the pools rest, and there was no breeze. It seemed to almost come from the mare, some kind of vibe vibrating off of her pelt.
"Who.. what are you? How do you do that?" He said stiffly, not sure how to react. She wasn't the normal arch-necked young filly he normally saw.

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The chestnut mare lowered her head slowly to the edge of the water, touching it lightly and tossing her head to send a few droplets slicing their way into the air with a gentle splash. She raised her head back to its normal position once again, watching the new ripples that'd been caused by the splash be send cascading along the calm surface of the pond. She'd hardly noticed anyone's presence--that is, until the voice of another equine reached her audits, which pricked up curiously within seconds. Blue-brown eyes shot along the edge of the pond, finally locking on the horse which had uttered the words. She stood frozen for a few seconds, not a movement coming from her besides the slow swish of her tail amongst her ankles. She had no idea how she'd missed him--his coat stood out from the vegetation like the moon did in the night sky. However, she wasn't too surprised by how she'd been oblivious to his presence--she tended to do very similar things. Sometimes she'd zone out and wander into completely foreign places altogether, hardly even noticing the menacing scent of the darks. However, she hardly knew how to react to this. He wanted to know how she'd done that--but..she didn't really have an explanation for him.. Most horses, unless they'd never been exposed to elementals, already knew by now how they did such things, and the ones who didn't know, just pretty much absorbed what they saw. The mare arched an eyebrow softly, opening her kissers as if she were going to say something--but no words came out. She could hardly find the right words to explain how she could do such a thing. So, she decided to answer the first two questions first before explaining exactly how she did it. "Uh..my name's Kailani. and I'm a Nyfrio.." she said, audits lowering back to a normal state, from their prior alertedness. "It's a breed of horses that have elemental powers relating to water.. I don't really know how I do it, I just think of it happening and it..does" She said, giving a slight shrug of her shoulders as she tried to explain herself. She gave a soft shake of her forehead, causing her forelock to move to one side of her face as she watched from the other side of the relatively small pond. "Who are you?" She asked, cocking her head to one side in a curious manner.

F R O G 'I've been roaming around, always looking down at all I see.' Frog eyed her from the sanctuary of his long forelock. He had lived in a small, secluded herd his entire life, not learning much about the outside world. He had known nothing of the elementals until he had came here, and heard a few tidbits from the gossiping equines. He didn't have much interest in them, but now here he was, face to face with one. He cocked a hind leg and shook his shaggy mane lightly, watching her. He hadn't bothered to introduce himself yet, or even show the young femme any manners. He was just so shocked at her.
"Your far from home, aren't you?" He said, his eyes sparked with curiosity and wonder. He backed out of the water, and the slight feathering on his forelegs dripped with the crystalline droplets. He looked down at his hooves as she explained her herd. He was somewhat jealous, he had always loved water, it would be fun to manipulate it. He rose his head and stared at her with crimson-colored amber eyes.
"My names Frog." He said simply, not seeing the purpose in names and introductions. It had been so long since he had given both. The only thing on his mind now, was why was she here? Maybe she liked to travel, like he did.

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The mare nodded subtly in his direction, responding to his inquiry on whether or not she was war from home. That, she definitely was. However, she'd never really even ventured across the actual Nyfrio lands, other than when she was born. Her mother had run away for some odd reason--such a crazy mare, she was. But there must have been a reason to it, and the anxiousness to fulfill her curiosity was rather strong, though she held no way to quench it. "Pleasure to meet you, Frog." She said, tilting her head lightly as she realized what his name was. It was definitely unique, but why was his name Frog? If the mare didn't know any better, she would have thought the stallion was one of the Nyfrio as well, with a name like that--but his scent told a far different story than what she'd expected. "Would you mind if I ask how you got that name?" She asked, the hints of curiosity starting to shimmer in the depths of her blue and brown pools as she watched him step back from the water.

F R O G 'If we show a little love, heaven knows what we could change.' He watched her, flicking his wispy Grey tail. He shifted his weight, pondering. Why was she here? She had a herd to live in, and others of her kind to associate with. He moved the surface of the water with his hoof, and turned his gaze to look at her. His forelock covered his eyes, and he flicked it out of the way. He lowered his head to watch the water ripple, watched it fade. Nothing ever lasts. He sighed and backed out of the water, and walked towards her.
Frog wasn't surprised when she asked about his name. That always stirred confusion to the equines he told. A horse named Frog? He shrugged, and looked at her. "When I was born, it started raining really hard, after weeks of drought. So, my mom named me Frog. Weird, huh?" He chuckled light, and flicked his tail, giving a cocky gaze.
"You may be born to be connected to water, but I bet I love it more then you!" He said gamely, and lurched forward, jumping into the pond. It grew deeper as he went further in, until it lapped up to his shoulder. When he jumped, a large wave had erupted, which would have drenched the Nyfrio. He smiled and looked back. "I sure hope you were due for a bath, 'cuz your gonna get one!" He leaped forward, deeper, drenching himself and everything around him. He was coming alive, and all it took was a young filly, and his love, the water.

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The mare cocked her head subtly as she watched the stag, ears flicking to and fro gently as the processed the information. Yet another remark and bit of information that pressured her to think that he should have been a Nyfrio. However, perhaps he was just one by spirit. "Weird, but that's pretty unique.." She complimented, watching as he flashed a cocky glance and made his way into the pond. Halo'd orbs examined the other equine a bit more closely before his words reached her audits once again, this time holding a more playful edge to them. This caused the mare's expression to lighten up almost instantly, a mischievous smirk washing over her face as the wave he'd created crashed against her. She'd reared slightly to deflect the water from drenching her upper half, however it still managed to splash her legs. "Oh, you're gonna pay for that." she whinnied, a lively tone now ringing through her voice. She gave a flick of her tail and glanced around slightly, before kicking off into a leap that landed her somewhere in the deeper parts of the pond--which in turn, caused the formation of a small wave that was headed in his direction. The caramel-colored locks of her tail streamed out behind her, floating on top of the pond's crystalline water as she started circling the stallion, much like a feline did to its prey.

F R O G 'You know, I'm not the little boy that I used to be.' Frog looked at her, even his eyes seemed to have a smiling glint to them. He leaped forward again, and a few water drops flew in every direction. He watched as she prepared to jump in after. He turned and frantically tried to gallop away before the splash, but it was too late. A wave soaked every part of him, and he shook the water from his eyes. His wet mane smoothed to his drenched neck, and he turned around, snorting. The sun soaked the two horses, which made the water lighter, and it shone like diamonds.
And now YOUR gonna pay for that! He watched as she circled him, and suddenly, gave way, falling under the water. Once he was under, he swam towards her, and since the water wasn't so deep, he nearly had to crawl on his knees, shuffling around the dirt at the bottom. He popped up from behind her suddenly, bursting into the surface, sending water flying everywhere in one big burst. He laughed as it settled, and waded beside her, his cockiness shining in his eyes.
Well, now were both soaked. He said, laughing. He was probably the more drenched one, but he didn't care. He was enjoying himself, and he supposed Kailini was aswell. He half-swam half-walked towards the shallow end, untill he was only pastern deep. The water seemed to instantly warm his cold body. He looked over his shoulder.
So, your a Nyfrio, eh? What's that land like? One big pond? He chuckled, and shook, sending water flying everywhere.

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. Kailani giggled softly under her breath, finding extreme amusement in how Frog had tried to gallop off but still been hit by the wave. Her entire expressino was set afire by the mischievous antics of the two of them. "Oh, really?" she said, arching an eyebrow and accompanying it with a challenging tone as he mentioned that she would pay for soaking him. However, the expression soon faded away as she saw him almost collapse under water, completely unaware that it'd been done on purpose. Blue-brown eyes scanned the surface of the water lightly as she looked arround--however the searching soon ended as another splash of water drenched the mare completely. She gave a nicker, rearing slightly in the water and shaking her mane free of as much water as she could. She did love water, but the feeling of her mane sticking to her neck was one of the few things that drove her nuts about it. Oh, and the wet dog smell that sometimes showed up if it was a slightly dirtier pond. She gave a soft snort, rearranging her facial expressions to make it seem as if she was annoyed. However, it didn't last too long before it all broke loose with an inevitable laugh. She ventured a bit deeper, though she stayed where her hooves could still touch the ground, and her neck and back were still out of the water. "Haha, very funny," She said, rolling her eyes and giving a flick of her tail at the pond comment. "It's actually a peninsula, though it's cut off from the mainland by a shallow river. So, in a way it's kind of almost an island. There's lots of rivers and streams going through it, and lots of plants, and there's a huge waterfall. But, I only remember bits and parts of it, my mom left and took me along when I was a yearling." She said, turning her attention back to the surface of the water. A slight smirk washed over her maw as she glanced back at Frog, making a ball-like sphere of water rise up from the pond and fly in his direction.

What if it all begins inside...Frog looked at her playfully, as she went deeper in the water. He turned and walked hock deep into it, letting it gently lap his hide as the breeze carried it. He perked his ears at her comment. She had been away from her herd that long? He was surprised, why had she never returned? Was there something about the Nyfrio he didn't know, that she did? Well, heck, she knew tons more about the herd then he did, but still. He flicked his tail on the surface of the water, causing it to seemingly move with his motion. He was just about to comment about it, but decided not to push it. It didn't seem like he would have the chance to, either, as a water orb slinked towards him. He pinned his ears and narrowed his eyes, scurrying backwards, and watched as it fell right before him, splashing his face. He snorted, and shook it lightly, smirking. He walked until he stood, wading beside her. He tapped her soaking neck playfully. So you've been a loner this whole time? He asked, even though he already knew the answer.
Hey! He suddenly said, perking his eyes in a moment of excitement. Have you been to the beach yet?

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. Kailani watched as he descended back into the water, only to try to scurry back away as the water was sent flying his way. A playful smile tugged once again at the corners of her maw as she gave a nicker, watching hi draw closer once again. "Well, I wouldn't call it being a loner.." she said, cocking her head lightly as if to try to find a different explanation for what she'd been doing for the past few years. "My mom took me along, I was just a yearling so I went with her, after a while though I just started wandering off from land to land just to see what it was all like, rather than just my herd's haven." she explained, shaking some of the water away from her mane once more as she turned her attention back to him, due to his sudden spark in excitement. "Actually I have, but maybe a year ago.. what about you?" she asked, ears flicking up curiously at the thought. The beach. She'd loved that place. Most horses tended to stay away from its shores due to its notoriously churning waters that would randomly pluck a horse from the shore and send them off, never to be heard of again. However, if you didn't venture out in the middle of a storm, it would hardly harm anyone unless you went too deep and got caught in the undertow. "Why? Do you wanna go now, or something?" she asked, tilting her head once again before turning to look at the river. She knew it lead to the beach, as did all rivers, if you followed the right branches of it.

I just need you to trust me.He watched her with his careful, chocolate eyes. The river seemed to sing, it's soft ripples disturbed only by a soft breeze. He turned on his tipt-toes and climbed out of the water until he stood at the very bank, so close that the waterwould slowly lap up and brush against the tips of his hooves. He listened her her speak and watched the reflection of the sky in the river. He rose his gaze only slightly to reply. 'That's interesting, you've never longed for the protection of a herd?' and he added in a somewhat joking manner with a slight laugh, 'A young filly like you needs a stallion watching over her.' His heart yearned for slight yearning for the pretty young mare, but he tried to shake it off.
He lowered his maw and ripped a few watery grasses from the banks and chewed them, thinking about her inquiry. He lowered his gaze to the water, which held the sky's reflection. He noticed the sky was now clouded, and he looked upwards. He felt a few loose drops of rain on his back. 'Even if I was, we can't now.' A rumble of thunder growled from afar. He looked at her with a flash of panic in his eyes. 'Just great, a thunderstorm. Typical this time of year.' He sighed and gestured towards a bridlepath. 'I know a secluded spot in the forest were we can wait out the storm.' He looked at her inquiringly, and added, 'Unless you wanna stay in the rain? I love water, but I don't like storms. After storms, is a different story.' The paint stallion enjoyed the smells and wet-feeling after the storms that racked the earth.
