! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The light, chestnut figure of a mare moved swiftly along the shore, her gait being set at a slow canter. Caramel-colored hooves came down abruptly against the water of the shallow waves, causing small splashes of water to spiral up into the air with each step taken. The aura that engulfed the creature was playful to the core, from the spring in her step, to the way the ocean breeze brushed against the tassels of her mane and tail. No doubt, even from a distance it was easy to tell that she was a light by nature, though her playful antics could sometimes take on a mask of dark-like mischief. But what was so bad about it, anyways? The darks seemed to have far more fun than the lights, at least, by what she knew. Through her reasoning, darks had nothing to worry about--they were the source of evil, there was nothing worse that could come along and give them a run for their money (and lives). However, despite how easy she thought they had it--she couldn't bring her merry little heart to defy the ways which she'd been raised. Though she was only about three years old, her morals and upbringing had always seemed to take hold of her and almost demand the last say. She was so sick of it--but she couldn't do a thing about it, other than to play her petty little tricks on people. Those tricks alone were enough to keep her gravitational pull towards the dark side at bay; and on the good side--they tended to make others laugh anyways, even if it took them 3 hours of ranting and scolding to get the annoyance out of their system. Not like it ever registered in her brain long enough to cause her to change her ways, though. Play and trickery was practically in her blood. The mare's thoughts seemed to always be on a runaway train, once they started--they kept going. It angered her so--it was as if her subconscious and conscious mental processes hated each other with a passion. However, she couldn't do a thing about it unless she were to completely reassemble herself. Chocolate-brown nostrils flared subtly at the thought as she slowed her gait some, now reducing it to a trot and finally coming to a stop by a set of larger rocks. Blue-brown eyes ran their gaze over them for a few seconds before a devious thought seemed to rush in and take hold of her actions before she could give it a second thought. Kailani took a cautious step onto the dampened boulders, making her way to a slightly bigger rock which stood a few feet above the rest of the sand--and a few feet farther out into the sea as well. A lively expression washed over the mare's face as she turned her attention to the sea, chest heaving as she took a deep breath of the gentle breeze that never faltered to be present at the shore.

orpheus pray, but you don't know what to say you've wounded all your faith you don't think that they'll ever listen shame is running through your veins just need a little taste is that the devil you've been kissing? Orpheus had been following the scent of mares and stallions alike for a while now. He longed to recruit a few last members for his herd but every trail led him nowhere. And the wind had not been especially helpful today either. Perhaps it was mad at him for all that he had condemned his mother to? This caused the stallion to snort faintly – as if the wind were capable of true anger against a child of its own creation. Shaking his large crown fiercely, the painted hellion stood still and focused. That was when a gentle gale teased his nares with the sweet scent of a mare. Orpheus was not really sure what he felt about this – he had many more mares than stags in his herd. And while he did not mind having so many females – no, he did not mind having them at all! – However, he knew that a herd required more than one stallion for safety and a little diversity in the blood.
The dark stallion quickly changed course in pursuit of the mare that the wind had finally decided to enlighten him about. She was on the beach – he knew because her scent was mixed with the slight scent of the salty waters. After he had decided upon his final destination it did not take Orpheus long to reach Spiagga del Nord. It took even less time for him to locate the mare in question. The mare stood proudly upon some moistened boulders along the shoreline. This caused Orpheus to raise a curious brow. Most horses did not tred so closesly to the water’s edge for this particular sea had been known to pluck an equine from the shore never to be heard of again. Another gentle wind whistled around hi m chattering on about her bloodlines. Ah, so she was a Nyfrio. This caused a small smirk to cross Orpheus’s velvety kissers. He had a young filly of the water blood in his herd already. Further, he had a purebred carrying his spawn of Nyfrio blood – although, the wind had left him out of the loop on that information. So, the thought of having what he thought would be a second water elemental in his herd delighted the young stallion. There was no way the Zunden would stand a fight chance against his herd of wind and water!
Proudly walking forward with a high held crown, Orpheus cleared his throat. He did not trek too closely to the mare, scared that he might frighten her to fall from the boulder where she perched. The last thing he needed was an injured mare on his hooves. “What a dangerous ledge to stand upon, dear mare! I am sure you know better than I of what those waters are capable of.”

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The mare's nostrils quivered gently as the scent of another equine was blown past her by the ocean breeze. She processed it slightly, though her mind registered hardly any concern about the stallion. However, only a few moments more had passed before the voice of the said stag reached her audits, causing them to prick up curiously in response. She turned her head in the direction the voice had come from, eyes scanning and finally locking on him by the end of his sentence. The mare arched a brow subtly at the stag as she gave another attempt to process the scent. She'd definitely wandered past that scent before, and it was that of a dark, indeed--but she had no recollection of ever meeting the stallion in person. However, it didn't take a second look nor thought to let it come to mind that he was affiliated with the darks, and here he was, saying that standing on a ledge was dangerous. Sure, it was dangerous--but at least he agreed it was. That heightened the chances that if he was looking for trouble to raise, he'd do it elsewhere. "I'm sure I do; however, I doubt these waters would harm their children unless they've angered it.." She said, turning on her heels to face the stallion. Her voice held a certain melody to it, soft by all means, though loud enough to be heard over the roar and crashing of the waves. She hardly moved from her post, however, venturing towards him only about a foot's distance before she stopped once more. The waves today were calm, hardly splashing along the base of the rocky ledge--however, that could all change without a moment's notice if the mare, or the sea itself, wished it to.

orpheus i am flesh and blood of the weakness i am heart and soul... desire place my finger on the trigger make the darkness as my bride The stallion’s own brow furrowed as the mare spoke. So, she believed the waters could be angered. That allowed his mind to wander back to that particular question on the wind’s behalf. Could such elements feel these types of emotion? Were they forces of power and feeling or merely forces that enable their children to feel power and thus governed by emotions of said carriers. Orpheus quickly shook h is crown, dislodging such thoughts that plagued him so. Was there really any necessity for such philosophical queries? Maybe. But, now, in presence of what he thought was a potential recruit certainly was not the most opportune moment. Focus returned to the Nyfrio as she stood on her perch.
“Perhaps they shall not take rage upon a child of their own, yet perhaps unbeknownst to you another more powerful of your kind is lurking in the shadows. Maybe a creature of royal blood but only half your breed that seeks revenge upon creatures blessed with the full blood. The elements, I do know, will betray their own children under the force of the mighty,” he spoke, although his words did not hold much might behind them. He knew that no other Nyfrio was near nor planned such devious an act upon the mare, but the musing amused him well enough. And, perhaps, it might bring the mare down from her rocky ledge to speak upon his level. In all honesty, he was slightly discomforted by the mares vantage over him, and he certainly was not going to risk his hooves upon that rocky height with a mare that could pull the waves up and sweep him out to a watery grave. With that thought in tow, the painted hellion took a few paces back and away from the water’s depths. The farther he was, the less force she could strike him with.
Ah, what was he fretting! He was of the wind’s blood! It could fend him, no? Hell, he was of nobility in the Era heritage… yet, only a halfling. This once again plagued the young hellion’s brow to furrow. What if a battle did break out. The only Nyfrio he had faced with his knowledge was a young filly and though of noble blood she was far too young to provide much fight with her powers against his own. A snort escaped Orpheus’s nares as he tried once more to shed such thoughts. The mare had made no threatening remark or gesture. Why was he fearing the worst? Perhaps, just his nature? Regardless, the young stallion stomped his hoof into the sandy shore and cast his blue orbs back up at the mare. “Ah, but forgive my musings, dear Nyfrio. My beckoning is Orpheus and might I ask your own?”

! They say the beat of a butterfly's wingscan set off a storm a world away.. The champagne-colored mare peered across the growing distance at the stallion, running her blue and brown-eyed case over his painted coat. What was he doing here? She didn't judge any part of it, for a random horse could always wander off to the beach for whatever reason they may have, but it still irked a curiosity in her, despite the pointlessness of it all. The mare's audits pricked slowly as he took off on a small speech, almost as if warning her that something more powerful than she could be after her. What was he implying? She'd angered no one, she'd hardly been around the herd at all after she'd turned one, therefore there musn't be a thing to worry about.. Nyfrio's weren't that twisted, they weren't of pure dark blood--they had to have some sense of family with others of their kin, whether they knew them or not, right? The questions surrounded in numbers, rushing through her train of thought and derailing it beyond any hopes of return. However, she quickly managed to shake her attention back to the stallion and the situation at hand. Perhaps he was right, she may have been a daredevil in all the ways which defined the word, but she was no fool--the waters could indeed betray her, even if on accident. Though, she didn't fret much over it.. She uttered no words, almost as if having no counterargument to what he had said regarding the element betraying her. They might do such a thing, but she had given it no reason--if they needed one, that is. She lifted a pillar slowly, almost as if hesitating for a second, and started to descend from the rocky ledge carefully, soon giving a slight leap off of the small mounds and landing firmly on the sand. Cream-colored hooves sank their shape into the somewhat damp particles as she took a few cautious steps toward the stallion before her. Orpheus.. What a strange name, it rang a distant bell of memory in her mind--but solely from rumors that'd circled around the island. She hadn't paid too much attention to such things, though she did recall his beckoning from elsewhere. "Kailani, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Orpheus." She said, her tail swishing about her ankles in a slight playful manner. Never did she meet a new face that she didn't play a trick on, perhaps it was the time to pull a few of her pranks on this young stallion. She was hardly sure of whether she should do it so soon, but a little water never hurt anybody..right? A dark, shimmering gleam slowly swept into the young mare's eyes, causing a mild-mannered smirk to tug gently at the tips of her maw. No doubt, she was doing something. But, unless the stallion looked up to see the large amount of clear water building up ten to twenty feet above him, or the wind went along to snitch, he would hardly notice the little trick she was in the process of creating.
