River began to follow, a stride behind him. She stopped suddenly, one neat pale hoof raised. She looked over her shoulder at the silent stallion Esprit. He could have been a nice one had he spoken. Snorting it out of her system, River turned back to follow Lassan, trotting gracefully to catch up to him. She settled at his left flank, loking about as the went. Once in the valley she gazed about. It was a pretty place indeed. "It's lovely. River commented, looking about. "Thank you for bringing me here." She took a few steps forward, her head lowered, before she began to graze. Her lips curls back and yellowed teeth ripped at the green stalks. She lifted her head, looking back over her shoulder at the ebony stag. "Will you graze with me Lassan?" She asked.

"You are very welcome." he said as she thanked him for being here. He looked aorund the valley. They looked to be the only ones there at the moment. It was odd. Usually the valley was full of horses, though at this moment they were the only ones. His audits flicked as River's soft lyrics floated to his auds. "Yes." he said in repl to her question. He bent his elagent neck down to graze, his obsidian mane falling over his neck. He wondered if River was worried about not getting back to her old home. He knew would most likely never go back. Even if she tried, the ocean current would carry her to Italy instead of where she was from.

River grazed contently. She was settled and happy. She had company, which she hadn't had for some time, she was grazing in a lovely valley and she was no longer struggling out at sea. Though that ordeal had been scary, she wasn't spoked about going swimming. She wondered it Lassan liked water. Would he swim? She paused a moment to look at him, her light brown eyes watching him from under a blue veil. Her mane was always a mess. That was the wild blood in her. His seemed finer than hers. River couldn't help a small jealous snort escape her muzzle. Swiftly she returned her teeth to the greenery, nipping it up. The scent of other horses lingered it. Suddenly it occured to the roan mare that this black might have a herd somewhere. She didn't want to keep him here if there were mares to look after. "Lassan... where is your herd?" she asked quietly, lifting her head and turning slightly to look at him better.

Lassan continued to graze when he heard River ask him something. He lifted his head and looked at her."My herd? There are only two in it. They are off together somewhere in my land. They are fine on their own. My land only has one enterance, so they would know if something came in. They actually went exploring with out me so I told them I was going to Spiagga Del Nord, or the north beach, for a while." He put his head back down and flicked his black banner behind him. He looked to River once more and said "River since you most likely don't hav a place to stay, would you like to join my herd?" The question was asked a bit nervously. He looked to her with his ebony orbs awaiting for an answer.

Her eyes had resided on him as he spoke. So yes, he did have other mares. If they were safe she didn't feel so bad. River gave a small nod and lowered her head back to eat. Hearing him start to speak though she lifted it once more, a few stalks of grass poking out from her teeth. She chewed slower as he spoke. The grass disspeared as she looked away for a moment, contemplating the prospect. "For now... I have been wanting company for awhile..." She looked back at him and smiled, the grass gone from her maw. Her face suddenly dropped to a very serious look. "Be warned though Lassan. I do enjoy my freedom, and being able to wander hiether and fro." She arched her neck proudly at this comment. She was a very indenpendant mare and had no desire to be "reined in" by any horse.

He stopped grazing as she spoke to him. After she had finnished he said "I understand whet you mean about enjoying your freedom. I do enjoy my freedom, sometimes too much. I mean I know I have a land and a herd to look after, but I guess you could say I am independant. I really enjoy roaming, and running, or going where ever my legs take me. I never go too far from my home land, due to the fact that I have a herd." What he said was ture. Even though he ruled a very large land, he still had to roam. It was him. He did not know why he liked it so much, he just did. He wondered if it was the same for her. Swift, a mare in his herd was the same way. He took one more bite of grass and looked ot River again.

"I do that for a living! She said with a smile, her neck arched proudly still, the roan lifted her banner and tossed her head, seeming quite pleased with herself. "I have been a wanderer since my ..." The air went out of her. White tail dropped and neck sagged. River turned away from him. Looking back towards the ocean. She couldn't see it for trees. She sighed and shook herself all over, her smokey mane whipping her neck and withers.
ooc; dun dun DUN! River's history.... gah!

Lasan was glad find another horse like him, one tat like their freedom. He had named his terra Terra Delle Liberta, which meant land of freedom. He wondered what had made her change her mood so much since she trailed off just a moment ago. He debated whether he should ask her or not. After a moment he simply said "What is it River?"

River hesitated, when he asked her this. She was unsure if she wanted him to know. Silently she stepped closer to him, their flanks touching slightly, a small flicked of feeling on her side. She moved her head closer to his. "Back home, i had a stallion. He was handsome, proud and caring. I was very fond of him. He had two other mares but I was prized for my colour. They were simple bays, and I was different. We had a foal. He was handsome, like his father, bay too, though with my white markings. They only thing was..." she paused here. It hurt. Remembering it."He was still born.' she said this quietly. After this. she was silently. the wind tugged her blue mane lightly. Her son, the only foal she had had, never even knew her.

Lassan watched as River moved closer to him. His ebony audits flicked in her direction as she began to speak. As she spoke he could understand why she was his favourite mare. She was a beautiful colour and had a wonderful personality. When she finished he started to speak. "That is very, very sad. I'm really sorry." He truely meant what he had just said. Lassan had never had a foal. He knew how hard it was though. His cousin Batalla had a colt named Diez. Diez had been killed by wolves at the age of one month and a half. He wondered if he should say anything else. "How long ago was it?" He put his muzzle on her neck to comfort her. He knew how hard it must be for her to talk about her past.

Accepting his sympathy, River leaned slightly closer to him. It was good to have another horse's company. "It was about 3 years ago now. I left my stallion.... I could not bare to look at him. it only reminded me of the colt." River knew he would no doubt say she was stupid for running like that. But at the time, it was the only thing she could think of doing. Also being young, she didn't know any better. She regretted running, thinking she should return, but fearing he would not want her back. "It has hurt me so...now I still wonder if I am able to raise a foal.... or will they all be still born." She said this quietly. She has wondered it often. Another reason not to return to the bay.

He felt so bad for her. He put his head around her in a sort of horse hug. "Still borns are rare. You and you family were one of the unlucky ones that it happens too. Having two still borns would be very, very rare, but I can completely understand why you are afriad to raise another one." He wondered if she regreted leaving her old family behind. "So River, would you lie me to show you mmy land, or are you not quiet ready yet?" he asked River.

River pressed against him now. It did hurt. Like a wound in her heart. She hoped he was right. That it was rare. She wished to have another. But fear still stopped her. She was ready to see his lands. "Yes, let us go. I would like to met your other mares as well.". She stepped back away from him, looking him in the eyes as she waited for him to leave. Her dark brown eyes were sad, though there was a certain calm acceptance about them.

"Follow me hen. I'mm sure you'll like it there. It is wonderful. Terra Delle Liberta is so large, I don't even know the size." He turned and said "This direction for about fifteen mimnutes and then we are there." He walked a few strides and looked back to River to indicate she should follow him now.

Rivre pricked her blue ears, watching him move off. Tossing her head to shake off any sad feelings, she danced after him, legs moving gracefully beneath her. "I am coming" She answer calmly and jogged to his flank. She stoppde beside his left flank and nipped his shoulder. "Lead on my lord" she said with a playful smile. She awaited his lead to fall into step beside him. ooc: sure
