« and we sang to the wind as we danced through the night »[/sub] Shadow nodded quickly as he asked her if she understood. She definitely understood. Now she was pretty much their little rag doll on strings--she had to do what they wanted, otherwise.. well, he didn't fail to name what would happen. Her ears flattened against her skull softly, nostrils quivering as if they wanted to flare in disgust for the stallion's rudeness--but she didn't dare show any dislike. She very well knew when it was the time for sass, and when it was better left unsaid and unshown. Right now was one of those times.
She glanced over in Nina's direction, her green and gray eyes filled with subtle gratefulness. Her ebony tail flicked about calmly now as the watched the two, and the mare which had just entered the conversation. She cocked her head lightly, though not surprised that she, too, seemed to share the amount of dislike which Aiden didn't bother to hide. Her chest heaved slightly as she took a deep breath--full of relief that, if Aiden didn't change his mind in a matter of minutes, she'd get to live.
Nina nodded subtly to Aiden, returning the same small smile which he'd given as a greeting. "Sure, I'd gladly be her handler," she replied, glancing at Shadow--who retured a subtle nod. This would be easy--he didn't know the two, and neither did any other horse in the Zunden herd as far as she knew. They had absolutely no idea about the two mares' friendship--nor their intentions. The original plan--which had been formed in a matter of seconds after she'd realized what was going on--was to give an idea, and get Shadow out and follow her. However, she was already falling victim to her bloodline's gravitational pull to the land.. Her eyes moved away from the stallion, watching the smokey ascending hills and cliffs that moved up to the volcano and the rest of the terra.
She couldn't help but feel a certain loyalty to it that she hadn't felt by the shore. Her nostrils flared slightly, thinking things through in her head as she watched the horizon. As far as she could think of, there were two options. Get Shadow out on a spy mission--from which she'd never return. The rest was up to her, should she choose to leave with her or stay among the land, and possibly get blamed for saving the 'dirty blood' then letting her run off..

Aiden. The stallion smiled a bit as Nina accepted being the other mare's handler. "You see to it that she does what she has to, and if she doesn't play by our rules, well you can figure out some way to teach her." he told Nina with a malicious glint in his maroon optics. Hopefully Nina would prove to be a strong Zunden. Aiden was always looking for new blood to move up the ranks in his herd.
The fire Lord then realised that he did not know the mare's name, not that he really cared. If she was going to be part of the herd, he might as well know her name, even though he would never address her by it. "Mare!" he snapped at Shadow. "Your calling, what is it?" he almost demanded.
Aiden finally lowered the ring of fire around the mare, hoping that she wouldn't run. If she did, it would be the stupidest, and last, mistake she ever made. The stag then turned to Aithne and said "Aithne, as you can probably tell this wench will be your new... coworker so to say. She will be spying for us, if you couldn't tell from the conversation already. Make sure she does what she needs to when Nina's not around. I want her watched liek a hawk watches a rabbit. Understood?"

« and we sang to the wind as we danced through the night »[/sub] Nina nodded quickly in response to his order, drawing closer to the two enough so that she was standing maybe at a four foot radius from them. She tossed her mane softly, crimson locks falling alongside her neck as she watched. "Oh, I'll make sure to teach her alright." She said, a hint of malice coming to life in her voice, the evil tone almost being right at home with her physique and aura.
Shadow arched an eyebrow slightly, as she watched Nina. She'd seemed far too at home with the evil tone in her voice, and it was creepy by her terms. She wouldn't hurt her..would she? The thoughts seemed to race around her head aimlessly. She hadn't doubted her before--but there was something about this moment in time that changed the stakes. Nina had gotten her out alive--that's all she should care about, but she couldn't deny what was right before her eyes.. The way she lit up with the darkness and fire--she was at home here. But would her personality change too? The thought chilled her to the bone.. Her attention, however, was quickly taken by Aiden's snap at her. "My name's Shadow Dancer." she said, raising her voice to a slightly affirmative tone--just enough so that she wouldn't seem as timid as she had a few moments back, though not enough to make her come off as sassy..she hoped. Her ears perked up as he lowered the ring of fire, watching it for a few seconds and taking a step towards Nina--though not finishing it, and lowering her hoof right where it'd been before. She planned to show no affection right now, the 'plan' was practically in the trial stages--she didn't want to mess it up by showing the signs of friendship.

MilinticaAfter a long walk around some of the Zunden terra, the large mass of beast had halted at the edge of some dead shrubbery for a bit of a rest. He started to relax and all tension flowed freely from his body. His lids were about close as he entered unconsciousness, but at the very edge of his vision a group of four were situated. Three of the equine looked average, for his kind, but the fourth was easily decribed as a mundane. A vermin. All thoughts of sleep squealched, Milintica couldn't stand around and wait to see what happened. He had to be there. Setting off at a a trot, he soon moved into a canter to clear more ground in more time. Soon enough the stag was slowing down and walking towards them. First off he sensed Aiden's presense, as he was above all the most powerful. Then Aithne appeared, one of his own. Next was the other Zunden, recognized as an outsider, yet still of the pure blood. He moved on to the filth, starting down at her ebony legs and working up to her ivory midsection. She wasn't the ugliest he had seen, but she certainly did not hold the beauty of a true horse, a Fire horse.
Bowing slightly to his superior, then nodding to Aithne, he spoke, "Aiden, my lord, what is this repulsive creature doing, treading our lands?" His intense dislike for the mixed-bloods was evident in the way he posed the question. Hopefully, surely, Aiden had no thoughts of letting the thing live. That would be an utmost foolish choice and as far as Milintica saw it would bring nothing but bad luck and shame upon their lines. Looking at his master, he awaited his reply.

« and we sang to the wind as we danced through the night »[/sub] Shadow's black-tipped audits flattened against her skull as she saw yet another equine make his appearance, and join in the unanimous dislike they seemed to have for anything other than their own. She let out a soft snort, nostrils quivering once again as she lowered her head. She wasn't liking this—more horses with the same interests might override the decision that Aiden had previously made. The vixen tossed her forelock aside, taking a few steps back from the crowd—though not moving any farther than a foot or two.

Aiden.Aiden gave the mare, who said her calling was Shadow Dancer, a disintrested glance. Aiden was smart enough not to share anyhting at all with the mare. The fire Lord figured that she might try something one day, and she couldn't ruin any of their plans if she did not know them. Plus, it would just give Aiden an excuse to kill her. That was always fun.
The stag looked up as he heard hoof beats. Today seemed ot be the day for Zunden to come near him. Although, they probably were detecting the scent of the new Zunden in the herd, or the mare. They most likely had scented the mare and wanted to come take care of her so to speak.
This time it was Milintica who had joined the group. Aiden gave him a slight nod in greeting before answering his questions. "This creature just had her life spared by Nina here." Aiden spat out. "She is going to be a spy for us and Nina is her handler." the Fire Lord told Milintica. "Oh and don't worry if she squeals, I'll make sure she is dust in the wind." he said, mostly to the mare again.

"When fire and flowers once were lovers, and our hearts beat not with scorn, when the world had none of war and gore, I write of a time which is no more."[/sub] Nina shook her mane softly as she watched yet another Zunden herd member join the little congregation of theirs. Her ears perked up curiously as she watched, soon turning her attention back to Aiden and Shadow--who was starting to look annoyed. "What do you say we give her the first mission? After all, what better chance to prove herself, when she has nothing to squeal about.." she commented, her crimson eyes still ablaze with a bit of malice that hadn't been there before--ever. She felt at home among them..somehow, in an odd way, it felt like if her blood had caught fire the second she stepped on the land. Though, she wasn't going to mess it all up just because she felt at home here--she needed to get Shadow's little normal-horse butt out of the area, it was something like a 'now or never' point in time for her, if she wanted to get out without a burn mark as a nasty little reminder..

Aiden.Aiden's eyed shifted to Nina as she began to speak again. She suggested that the mare should go now so she could prove herself. The Fire Lord stared at Nina for a few minutes, not even blinking. Why was she so eager to have this mare go on her mission? Aiden shrugged it off and said "Fine. Nina make sure you take her to one of the Light lands. Then you should leave and obviously leave her there alone." He then looked to Aithne and said "You should go with them. That way you could show the mare what to do."
Aiden figured that having Aithne there would be safer for the Zunden. She could also teach Shadow how to gather information and how to have excuses to go back to the Zunden to make her reports.

"When fire and flowers once were lovers, and our hearts beat not with scorn, when the world had none of war and gore, I write of a time which is no more."[/sub] Nina nodded obediently, turning her gaze to Shadow as she started to head off toward the Light lands. "Come on, mutt.." she said, flaring her nostrils softly as she glanced back, making sure that she was being followed--which of course, she was. Shadow had absolutely no reason to stay here right now.. She kept her gaze looking over her shoulder, eyes wandering over the lot of Zundens and the background of the ashy volcano in the distance before finally turning her attention to what was in front of her and taking off at a gallop, her crimson red banner held high as she went off.
Shadow's ears had flicked up as she'd addressed her--mutt? She wasn't a "mutt".. At least, not that she knew of. She figured she must have meant it in the derogatory, stray dog kind of manner. She snorted defiantly once more before taking off, following at the mare's heels as she went along. "Are you okay?" she nickered, as subtle as possible so that the other horses wouldn't hear the conversation.
Nina simply nodded to her, keeping her eyes ahead. "I'm fine. Just need to get out of here before I decide to stay.." she whispered, a slightly sad--almost longing--tone coming to her voice as the two started on their way out of the territory.
