(~Crescendo~)[/b] So this was the area that the loners came to get 'claimed'. What a pathetic way to live a life, being claimed by a territorial brute who only cared about the size of his herd, how many foals he produced, and all that other ego boosters. This dame, this dame would give them something to watch out for. Unlike the other mares who just agreed to this. What a pathetic way to live life under the rule of a male. Why not just live life with a rising excitement to propel you forward in life?
Although she rather be somewhere else, not having to worry about being ranked and under others, to show respect and know the irreverent rules of the court. Such one little remark could send one boastful mare out of order. She would enjoy a little fight every now and then, but her fights were not always physical. Her challenges were those of words. Could they understand her words and their underlying meanings in some then she would give them credit and accept them as intelligent beings. Others who failed to understand them would be still treated kindly, yet her speech would be somewhat dull around them. See; why not just learn the excitement of escalating words?
Yet, upon her distaste of being ruled over, she was here. She decided it was time for a change. Perhaps in a new home, she could be recognized for being herself and not the Trickster like in her old herd. They had found her talent for the pun on the words she said to the select few on certain occasions stupid. She was like the equine Shakespeare. Oh, what a talent she could harness given the right time.
Now, what should await her here in this new area? She hoped to earn respect from the others that could await her. She was reasonably neutral. She would treat you the way you treated her. Occasionally the vixen would tease you, but would not ever mean permanent harm unless you were being mean to her. So here she awaited, her black, sleek, body gleaming some and some feather-like areas where her winter coat was growing. The only question is, how long would she be waiting for someone to enchant her away?

Daggers struck the ground in a rythmical three beat pace. Beautiful arabian neck arched and shook. Pure ebony form hidden in the shadows of the trees. He continued to canter onward, loving every minute of it. He swished his tail at the pesky bugs. There were too many on hot, summer days like these. Three beat gait soon slowed to a long, slow two beat trot. He soon stopped not far from a small stream of cool, clear flowing water. He walked up to it. He dipped his maw down do drink the crystal clear liquid that flowed. When he had quenched his thirst his head shot up at the sound of something nearby. His ebony orbs looked for what was making the sound. Auds flicked to search for it. He heard something a few yards in front of him. He got into a stance that would let him fight or flee. He watched. Nothing. He kept on watching. He knew something was in there. He soon let his guard down when a doe and her newly born fawn stepped out of the bushes. He nodded his head to her as a sign that he meant no harm to her or the fawn. She nodded back and walked on with her fawn. He smiled as they left. He was glad that deer did not mean any harm, for every equine would be in danger. The island had many deer on it. They were still rareluy seen though. Such elusive creatures. He had always wondered how they kept from those that would cause them harm.
Soon after the deer had left, he picked up a brisk trot. His powerful hindquarters propelled him along the groudn. He snorted and bucked, moving into a fast canter. He stayed along the water's edge. The river soon grew wider and deeper. He slowed down as a gut of warm air blew through his charcoal mane, and whipped it around his neck. The wind carried the scent of a fellow equine somewhere ahead of him. He threw his head and slowly walk on. His auds and orbs darted around looking for the other equine somewhere. He walked for about five or six minutes when their scent was stronger. He walked in the direction it ha come from. The river began to size down now. He new it was probably ending in a pond or a small lake up ahead. As he moved the trees became less dense as he neared the clearing. He stopped when he saw the form of another equine a few hundred yards away from himself. He whinnied cautiously, for he did not if they were a friend or a foe. He was ready either way.

(~Crescendo~)[/b] The whinny reached her ears and the mare's ears went back as she side stepped, her tail sweeping along to her side and then back as she faced the stag. Cautiously, her brown eyes narrowed, studying the figure a little ways from her. Deciding he meant to harm, her ears only moved forward slightly. To reply, she nickered to him before lifting her head to study him as he approached. Getting cautious again, she took a step back and her ears followed the movement.
Deciding to stall him a little, she thought of a few words to ask him. It looked like she was going to make the first move in a conversation."Halt stallion," she began, her voice holding an edge of sternness."what is thy calling? For mine is Crescendo and is it not polite to introduce oneself before approaching a stranger?" After addressing her concern, her ears eased up and came forward once again, showing the stallion she did not mind his presence as much as before.
He didn't look like a dark stallion, and nor did he look like one who could be pushed around. Yet while she was pondering, she didn't notice her speech before as she used 'thy' and such to talk. It was sometimes a habit of hers to use the old words of thy, thine, and so forth, mixing modern and ancient words. After a few minutes of studying the stallion again, she relaxed, not being so wary of before, for still alert if he tried to pull anything on her.

His ebonite form stayed stock still as the fae assessed him. Her delicate zeniths perked towards him just a bit. Her lyrics then came into the air. She told him to halt in an almost demanding tone. He smirked and took a few more steps before he casually halted, his ebony banners swaying in the cool breeze.
His audits lifted when he once again heard her sweet lyrics. "what is thy calling? For mine is Crescendo and is it not polite to introduce oneself before approaching a stranger?" He smiled a bit and replied "Excuse me, I am Lassan. Pleasure to meet you Crescendo." he then slightly bowed. "Well Miss Crescendo, I was a few meters away from you, not a respectable distance to be conversing with out yelling a bit, and I find yelling to meet some one just a bit impolite, no?" When he spoke, his lyrics contained an accent of Scottish with a hint of Welsh thrown in.
He stood there waiting for the fae to respond in any way, shape or form. He knew that she was not a Dark. She had to atleast be a Nuetral if not a Light.

(~Crescendo~)[/b] The teasing steps he took forward before stopping made her take a few back yet again. She narrowed her eyes at his teasing. However, when he introduced himself, she nodded back. "'Tis a pleasure to meet you as well, Lassan." She had lightened her tone from a stern concentration to a flowing grace. Yet, his other comment made her look up quizzically at him. "Oh touché, Lassan." She announced to him appraisingly. So the stallion did seem intelligent.
Intelligence, it was a good quality for a stallion or any equine at that. Perhaps his person showing up wasn't such a bad event after all. This Lassan would be a pleasure to exchange words with. Although, would he be able to catch every underlined word of when she would get into her games? Well... perhaps she will save the games for later. Ah yes, she did respond to the brute. She was in a polite way admitting he was correct in his inquiry.
As soon as the wind shifted again, the mare's ears turned back slightly, still wary now that the wind help reveal other scents on the stallion. With another inquiring glance to the stallion, she blew out of her nostrils. She waited a little after that, wanting to know if he figured out why her ears were back rather than forward as they used to be. Yet, to her the silence was not something she wanted at the time. To help arise some sound, she stepped back and raised her head again to the stallion, preparing to speak to him again.
"You smell of many others, Lassan." Her tone grew stern again. She was not aggressive toward him, just her odd way of being concerned. "I am guessing that you protect a herd, do I guess correctly?" Her question was left hanging on the air. Yet still, her words did not play up as she would. She was rather curious more so than wanting a game just yet.

The essa then nodded back in greeting to him. He kept his head just a bit higher than hers, at a relaxed, non threatening position. From her new set of lyrics, he could tell that they had lightened up several tones. He kept a small smile plastered on his features. Lassan was a very personable equine, knowing that if you tended to smile a bit and make eye contact when you spke, you could get a lot more acomplished.
His audits swivled as the winds swifted in direction. Autumn was a silly season. Mother Nature couldn't seem to make up her mind during this time. There were so many changes everyday. Lassan then observed Crescendo's auds going back against her skull. He looked at her quite quizically, trying to figure out why she was doing this. Had a certain scent from the land or him floated to her nares during the wind shift? Had he said or done something? Or was she just merely thinking about something? All thses questions ran through his cranium as his orbs analyzed her.
He lifted his crown once more as he heard the essa speak again. This time her voice was stronger as she stated that she scented others on him. She was a smart and observant vixen. Crescendo then questioned Lassan about being the protector of a herd. He waited a moment after she spoke before sending out his reply. "Yes, I defend a herd, and not just any herd. This herd is one of the most powerful in the land. I am honoured to have such a duty." he paused for a moment, drawing in a breath. "And if you are wondering where we reside, it is in Terra Delle Liberta. What about yourself, Miss Crescendo, do you have a herd you belong with?" Even if she didn't have a herd, he wouldn't force her to come with him. He was just curious. That was part of his persona and would always be.

(~Crescendo~)[/b] It took the brute a little time to realize she was curious as to why there were other scents on his person. As he replied, it seemed she did guess correctly. Yet, as his next words were replied to her, she thought about it. Was he boasting? Or was he stating his own opinion, or what? His tone didn't make sense with her thoughts. Placing it stupid for her to look to much into this, she cast the thought aside and snorted irritated at his remark. Then the brute decided to pause, she took this opportunity to look into his eyes, studying his features even more than before.
Caught by a mild surprise at where he lived, her gaze shifted away to think of where the place was and then shifted back on the brute himself. Terra Delle Liberta, she had heard of the land before. She had heard it was a rather wonderful place to live. The only thing she didn't know was that Lassan was the leader of the herd. Her pondering was again cut short as he actually caught her by surprise this time, asking her if she lived anywhere.
A small, teasing, gleam flashed in her eyes before the brown of her eyes was able to cover it up. Just for now, she would tease him. "Oh no, I have my person here in the claiming grounds just to wait because I have nothing else to do." she threw at him. Chuckling after a break from her speaking, she looked the brute in the eyes. "Aye brute, I will be honest with you now." Waiting yet again to speak, she let her ears show her curiosity in his next words.
"I have no herd which I am bound to. Not even that, but I do not wish to be bound to a herd until the die I shall pass on." With this said, she looked away a little, her gaze unfocused. She did want to live the rest of her life in one herd. She wouldn't want to live day after day in a routine. If she found some other stallion she would rather live with, she would want to be allowed to. But perhaps this stallion did allow his mares to leave somewhere else if they pleased. There really was no choice for her though, if she wanted to join a pleasant herd, his seemed right.

"Oh no, I have my person here in the claiming grounds just to wait because I have nothing else to do." Her teasing melody reached his audits. He smirked a bit. "Well you never know Crescendo, I have met many equine here that have herds. They were merely out for a run, just as I was before I came here." his tone was light hearted and teasing in way, even though it was the truth. He flicked his ebony banner as she spoke the truth this time around. She did not have a herd. Lassan listened intently as she spoke about being bound to a herd. He nodded when she was done speaking. "I understand completly. I do not like to be bound, even though I lead the herd. I go for runs out of my land just for excitement and adventure. I allow my herd membrs to roam at there own will. I find it cruel to keep one bound to omething they might not be pleased with for the rest of their life. Thats my opinion though, you may think differently."

(~Crescendo~)[/b] Ears trained to recognize play on words caught the reply that Lassan had given. She let out a breath and lowered her head. Before lifting her head back up to listen intently as he mentioned that he understood completely, her gaze brightened as she listened intently. Then she let out a nicker to agree with him. She smiled a little and lifted out her velvet nose to touch his.
"You are a magnificent stallion, Lassan. Those under your protection are fortunate." Then quickly taking her nose away in embarrassment, she took a few steps back, lowering her head as she did so. 'Why oh why did I do that?' she asked herself. Why did she do that? Perhaps it was the weariness from her travels. Or maybe it was because she really did take pleasure in the essence of the person called Lassan.
"Lassan," She began, looking back up to look him in the eyes, "I do not want to sound demanding, but I am weary from my travels here. Perhaps I could seek refuge in your homeland?" She admitted to herself that this was really bold of her. She blamed it on being tired as well as the charming air of Lassan. Oh, what was she doing anyway? |ooc: It's fine, same here since it's so late for me.|

The vix exhaled and lowered her crown as he spoke. She then let out a whicker of agreement as her velvet maw touched his own. His auds flicked as her lyrics came to them. "You are a magnificent stallion, Lassan. Those under your protection are fortunate." He smirked a bit as she quickly pulled her muzzle away. From the expression on her face, he could tell she was a bit embarrassed. "Why thank you Crescendo. That means a lot to me." he simply stated, not wanting to make her feel weird.
Lassan turned his ebonite dial to scratch at an itch on his back. When he returned his crania, he heard Crescendo call out his name. He looked to her as she spoke. The vix asked him if she could rest in his lands. Lassan smiled a warm, friendly smile and said "Yes you can rest in Terra Delle Liberta. When ever you feel like you are rested and are ready to leave, just say so." Lassan had ahunch that she might leave after a few days. This vix had quite the free spirit, just like Lassan. Only thing was Lassan was bound to the land his father left him, and he couldn't leave for more than a few days, but Crescendo had it made. She had no boundries and could go where ever her heart desired.
"Well Crescendo, follow me, and we shall head off." He smiled at her, turned, walked off a few strides before halting aznd looking over his shoulder, waiting for her to oin him.

(~Crescendo~)[/b] Hearing his voice thank her, she let out a barely audible breath of air in relief. As his head went back, she took the opportunity she had to glace around her surroundings before asking him her question. This way, if she was able to leave, she could wonder around here again. That is if he agreed to allow her to leave after resting. To her surprise after she asked her question, Lassan answered and what he said made her smile.
He would allow her to rest in his land. Terra Delle Liberta, she would have to remember the name of that land. Her head bowed in a nod to show her thanks and respect. Then as she slowly lifted her head back up again, a thought entered her mind. What if none of the equines back in his home liked her? Well, no worries, she could just avoid them or show them they can't push her around. Besides, she would just stay there to rest up for a few days, wouldn't she?
Why did all those thoughts, choices, possibilities come to her now and not before? That was not like her. On normal bases, she would think ideas through, not just do a one-over and live with it. Yet, now she was stuck with it. She wanted to blame Lassan, but knew better than to blame the fault on someone else. It was her stupid mistake and she had to live with it. To make sure she didn't get sidetracked again when making a choice, she made a mental note to think of the probable outcomes.
When Lassan requested that she should follow him, she nodded. She let him get ahead for a a little ways. That is, until he looked back to see if she was following. Nickering that she was coming, she took one last look at her surroundings and looked back to Lassan who was ahead of her. Taking up her faster, graceful, collected trot-like motion, she headed to catch up. Until she reached him, she would keep up with him until he wanted to either walk or move faster. |ooc: You don't have to reply to this. Do you want to maybe start a new thread or have her join an existing one in Terra Delle Liberta? Either way, just PM me to tell me what you decided.|
